This chapter was kinda difficult to write, and it may not be as exciting as the other ones cause I'm nearly out of ideas. The next one will be a WHOLE LOT better, though. Sorry -ThunderSky and Swirlysnowflake

Feathertail padded back to camp along with Bluestar. So many things had changed. The Dark Forest was rising. Spottedleaf had changed into a totally different cat. Why? She had seemed as if the two of them were from two different Clans at the Gathering at the full moon. The bond that had strengthened both of them was snapped like a twig, splinters exploding from the crack.

Spottedleaf looked the same, but she sounded and was different emotionally. What is wrong with her?

The last time I was with her before this was when the storm-

Wait… We were at the border of the Dark Forest. Did that have to do with anything?

But what could the Dark Forest have to do with this?

Feathertail shivered as she thought of the prickling thorns from the wicked bushes that Half Moon had conjured to use as a barrier.

Did Spottedleaf sneak off into the Dark Forest? I've never been there, but Spottedleaf… she came back… covered in mud. She said she fell in a ditch.

I didn't see any ditches in that area. But the Dark Forest probably has plenty of mud.

Feathertail pictured the pine forest with the ground covered with mud. I can't imagine what life must be for those cats. But then she told herself sternly, Those cats deserve to be there. So stop pitying them and get back to the present.

Feathertail climbed up the next rise. They were finally back at camp. She saw Doestar and Dovestar guarding the camp entrance, alert.

Their sharp looks changed to relief when they saw Bluestar and the patrol back.

Mosskit was eager to know what had happened. She bounded up, asking, "What happened?"

"Bluestar will tell everyone," Feathertail responded. She stroked the starry kit with her tail.

Bluestar jumped on the Starrock. She had no need to summon the cats. They were crowded around, wondering what she would say.

"Today we visited the Ancients. Half Moon conjured a large barrier of spiky bushes that blocked off the Dark Forest cats."

A relieved murmuring came from the cats. "Along with that, we received a vision in the Ancients' Pool of All Seeing. We saw ThunderClan and ShadowClan fighting over territory." Yellowfang shifted uncomfortably.

"Then we saw the lake. A fire separated the Clans and consumed them. Then we saw the three cats of the prophecy, and then a shadow cat. A ring of light surrounded them and then the sparks of light surrounded the lake and doused the flames."

Everyone was shocked for a moment.

Dawnstar spoke. "I believe this could only mean that the Clans must stand together. The fighting and the fire both represent conflict, and the ring of light and the four cats…" She trailed off.

Then her eyes lit up. "Could it mean that the four cats would extinguish the fire-which is the conflict- could it mean that the four cats would bring peace?"

Bluestar nodded approvingly. "This is what I thought too. Midnight the badger was there as well, and she agreed."

Her eyes darkened. "The Clans must stand together, or the Dark Forest will wipe them all out, and us with them."

Her words were met with silence.

"But, they can't do that," Crookedstar blurted.

Bluestar turned on him. "The Dark Forest is rising. Do you not think that one day they will possess enough power to destroy us all? They have attacked once already, do you think that they would not do it again if Half Moon had not made the bushes appear?"

"N-no," Crookedstar murmured. He hesitated for a few moments before asking another question. "What do we do, then?"

"Shadowstar said that we do what is right." The mew came from Swiftstar. He stood straight and tall.

"Precisely." Bluestar nodded. "We must stand not only for ourselves, but for the Clans, too."
