DekUravity-Chapter XVII:
Love with Might-the Past Love Story 1:
A flashback within a flashback sequence occurs...as time goes back to a time period of way back when, during All Might's younger years...when he was an exchange student both visiting and living in the USA. After fatefully meeting his good friend David Shield, there were also others that All Might became well acquainted with...but...none more so...then a certain person. During a single normal day, after All Might foiled a local robbery...
He and David arrived late on time at the latter's university, where the both of them were scolded by the professor whom was paying for All Might's tuition fees whilst staying in America. Another friend of Nana Shimura's named "Arkc Caterwaul". Professor Caterwaul was in truth David's mentor and would have introduced All Might had they not met under different circumstances...what were the chances? at any rate. The professor possessed the Quirk of "Nekomata" as All Might liked to call it that would allow Caterwaul to transform into a both giant and ferocious "Bakeneko" or "Monster Cat".
The in-joke All Might would always make around Caterwaul was he truly either a Nekomata or a Bakeneko from Japanese Mythology? ironic since the professor was both born and raised solely in the United States. Whenever All Might had a perchance to take his jokes too far...Caterwaul would use his Quirk and scare All Might, towering over the already large sized Superhero. Caterwaul was one of the few people...whom knew the truth of One-For-All. Wanting to keep David safe of it's existence and knowledge, the professor elected to keep the true nature of the Quirk a secret. Instead, only informing what David believed to already knew about All Might's Quirk and that it was a power type from it's outwards appearance...
Caterwaul was considered a grumpy old cat whom had very little patience for the antics of both Might and Shield, always choosing to skip his important lectures in order to pursue the former's path of Heroism. Whilst Caterwaul secretly applauded the pair of friends for their decisions regaining being Heroes...he did inform them to still live lives as young adults. To not let their chances fly right by the duo just like both Shimura...and Caterwaul had chosen for themselves. Might joked for the professor not to worry so much and that because he was super busy being a Hero most of the time, what was the point of worrying about a normal life?
That was exactly the point Caterwaul was trying to make...much to his exasperation. Unfortunately...he has been suffering from heart pains for the last few weeks, needing to take special medicine in order to dwell the pain at times. David had a sneaking suspicion...but decided to put it at the back of his mind, not wanting to think of the worst regarding his highly respected mentor. An hour later after leaving the university, David wondered to himself.
He sincerely asks All Might what was his opinion on possibly living a normal life, if he chose to do so that is. All Might had nothing to say really on the subject...only...that he couldn't live a normal life. There was far too much at stake...and far too much for Might himself personally to succeed at achieving. Having inherited Shimura's mantle in order to defeat All-For-One both once and for all time. All Might had recalled the final moments of his teacher, fighting valiantly towards her very last in order to stop one of All-For-One's rampages...
David looks at Might and is constantly puzzled by what he might be thinking about during daydreaming episodes of Might's. Just then, a fire explodes nearby and attracts the pair's attention. They are alerted to Villainous activity being committed, a pair of no-named Villains causing chaos, havoc and destruction for the sakes of them. All Might jumps high into the sky out of David's car and proceeds to rip off his civilian clothing, showing his Hero costume underneath.
All Might uses his signature moves named after the counties of the US in order to subdue the Villains. After finishing beating them to pulps and capturing them...All Might then shockingly sees a silhouette within the fire of the explosion that they caused. Inside, the silhouette announces itself...as "Ouroburos". The snake that eats it's own tail...before All Might could approach the mysterious figure and find out more, it strangely disappears into thin air. Leaving naught a single trace of it being there...or having ever existed to begin with. All Might merely calls this occurrence fatigue and dizziness from standing far too close to the burning flames and then blows said flames away using only his cool breath.
A few minutes later, he talks with David about this Ouroburos thing. Shield finds it strange...and wonders if it's a new kind of Villain, ready to announce itself? still. Whatever the case may very well be...Might was willing to face it head on, be it a Villain or something else entirely. He reminds David that Might intends to one day embody the Symbol of Peace and that he must achieve that goal, no matter what. Inspired by his friend's resolve...David agrees to help All Might all the way, until the day comes when he truly is...the world's Symbol of Peace. Might and Shield share good smiles and laughs between themselves before noting that it was getting late and had decided to call it a day before resuming Hero activities tomorrow...
Half an hour later, Might parts ways with David and goes to stay at what looks like a rundown apartment complex called "Jami's Bugle". Here, at the front steps, Might struggles to find his keys in order to let himself through the front door of the complex. As he then finds but drops them...suddenly, a foot is seen in front of his face kneeling to pick up the apartment keys. All Might looks up...and meets with someone...rather unexpected. It was...an old "friend" of his, so to speak. The friend in question was named "Hisuie Madarame". She ...used to be Might's high school sweetheart, or rather he imagined her to be...
Carrying a basket of both clean and carefully folded clothing, all prim and proper looking. Hisuie curiously looks at Might...before recognising him by his true identity: Toshinori Yagi. What did this mean...for the aspiring future Symbol of Peace?
To be Continued.
