To Love A Sakura: Marrying A Sakura
"Congratulations Kagome." Keade smiled as she walked with the newly married bride down the hall.
"Thanks Kaede." Kagome smiled weakly as one of the female servants closed the screen to the bathing chambers.
"Do ye need help washing?" Keade asked as she helped Kagome out of the many layers of her wedding kimono.
"No, but some company would be nice." Kagome sighed as she slipped out of the last layer before stepping into the warm tub.
"Of course." Keade smiled as the female servant picked up her discarded white silks and walked out of the room. "Are ye nervous?"
"A little." Kagome blushed as she washed her body with lavender scented soaps. "Does it… does it really hurt like they say it does?"
"It's only a minor pinch." Keade soothed as she handed Kagome a cloth to wash herself with. "Thee is certain with ye's husband's experience ye will be forgetting about the slight discomfort in no time."
"I guess there's a plus to having a man slut for a husband." Kagome giggled, making the old woman smile.
"Inuyasha's ye's best friend." Kaede said as Kagome scrubbed shampoo into her hair. "Thee is certain he will do whatever he can to make ye's first time together special."
"I know…" Kagome sighed as she dumped water over her head to rinse it of suds. "It's just weird that it's going to be with Inuyasha. I always imagined giving myself to his brother, not my best friend."
"Try not to think of it that way." Keade encouraged as she unfolded the towel sitting on the bench beside her. "He is ye husband now and although it is not the type of love our Lord has for ye, Inuyasha does care for ye in his own way."
"Thanks Kaede. I needed to hear that." Kagome smiled as she stepped out of the tub and dried herself off with the towel.
"Of course." Keade said as she held open the white robe for her to slip on. "Come, let's get ye ready for bed. Thee is certain Inuyasha will be waiting for ye."
Once she was dressed in her white robe and her hair was brushed to a silky texture they walked across the hall. They were nearly to Inuyasha's chambers when the sound of Abi's mewling on the other side of Sesshomaru's door caught Kagome's attention. Having convinced the court to marry Abi instead of mating, the couple was rarely spotted outside of the bedroom. Although Kagome knew he was only having sex with his new wife to insure she got pregnant, it still broke her heart to hear Abi's pleasured crooning crawling up from under the doorway. When she felt a strong hand on her shoulder she turned around to find Inuyasha dressed in a matching white robe.
After seeing the tender smile on his lips she felt reassured in their future. He was her protector now and no matter what happened they'd take care of each other. She was nervous to give herself away but sensing his understanding gave her the strength to take his hand in hers and follow him into his chambers. As she expected their first time together as husband and wife was awkward. Having never been with anyone before and lacking an arm for support Kagome didn't know how to move her body or how to give him pleasure. Thankfully Inuyasha was very understanding and showed her what to do. Eventually they got the hang of it and ended up pleasuring each other multiple times in the night.
By the end of their week long honeymoon Kagome was in tune with Inuyasha's body and came to enjoy having sex with her new husband. Although she'd never slept with anyone else she was certain his skills in bed weren't anything to complain about. He'd brought her body to life in ways she didn't know was possible. There were many times during their love making that he'd tease her and make her beg to the point of tears. His playfulness in bed was a welcomed experience. Their relationship was comfortable, relaxed even. Some nights they stayed in bed talking for hours just enjoying each other's company. Having him hold her and kiss her made her feel cherished and loved.
He was now her best friend both in and out of the bedroom. They'd always been close but now as lovers they'd reached a deeper level in their relationship than ever before. Neither of them expected their feelings to strengthen like it had but were grateful nonetheless. Knowing they'd have each other like this for the rest of their lives made the feelings even stronger. He'd always be her best friend but now he was her lover and beloved husband. When Lady Abi was found to be pregnant a few days later they knew it was time for Sesshomaru and Inuyasha to pack up their bags. Inuyasha now being an adult and second heir to the western kingdom was required to join his brother on the battlefield.
With Sesshomaru having spent close to a month away from the front it was time for them to ready their steeds for war. It was uncomfortable watching each couple say their farewell to their partners. Knowing Sesshomaru was watching her kiss Inuyasha's lips in a goodbye kiss didn't help either. She could see the pain in his eyes and feel his grief in his aura but there was nothing they could do. He was now married to Lady Abi and she was married to his half-brother. Although she was happy to be married to Inuyasha her heart would forever belong to Sesshomaru. It didn't help that both brothers knew that. The tension in the air could have been cut with a blade.
Thankfully nothing was said and the brothers headed down the blood road without killing each other. Their relationship had never been solid but they'd always come together in her defense. She just hoped they'd be able to overlook their new situation and work together where it counted on the battlefield. She'd feel terrible if one of them died or got injured because they were distracted by their new living arrangements. All she could do now was pray that the gods could help them keep their minds focused on the task ahead and would bring them both home safely. While they were away Kagome spent the majority of her time in the sanctuary of the gardens. To her relief she rarely suffered from either of Kastuki or Lady Abi's wraths.
Since there was an heir on the way much of the castle devoted their attention preparing for its arrival. That of course meant that Kastuki and Lady Abi were much too busy to pay attention to her. When the winter's months once again came around Kaede and Jinengi helped to prepare her body for hibernation and covered her head with Sesshomaru's fur hat. Thankfully Japan had a mild winter that year and she was able to keep not only all of her branches but regrew a small section of her arm back. When spring came around Kagome uprooted her feet from the earth and made her way into the castle. She was on her way to the kitchens to get something to eat when she accidentally ran into one of the castle maids.
"Lady Sakura!" the maid squeaked as she went to collect the broken china at her feet. "You've awakened!"
"I'm sorry!" Kagome apologized as she went to help the trembling servant pick up the broken tea set. "I didn't mean to startle you."
"Oh no; it's fine." The maid quickly waved off as she picked up the tray and walked with Kagome towards the kitchens. "It's just that we weren't expecting you to awaken for a few more days."
"Gotcha." Kagome nodded as she walked towards the pantry. Noticing that her husband's favorite ramen was on the stove she frowned in confusion. Kastuki and Abi hated the way the dish smelled so if it weren't for them… "Is… is my husband home?"
"Yes, he is my Lady." The cook said cautiously. "He was injured on the frontlines three months ago and has been recovering here at the castle ever since."
"Well why didn't you guys say so?!" Kagome gasped as she ran towards the kitchen doors.
"Lady Sakura, wait!" the maid called after her. "Oh gods…"
"This isn't going to be pretty." The cook agreed.
Unaware of the castle staff's attempt to stop her, Kagome raced down the hall towards the royal chambers. She was nearly to her husband's room when the scent of sex and the sound of heated skin smacking together caught her attention. Her breath caught in her throat when she heard the female moan her husband's name upon her lips and as he growled and thrust harder into her quivering body. Furious at his betrayal and on the verge of throwing up from the smell, Kagome marched towards the door and slammed it open. Her teary eyes bled red at the sight that greeted her on the other side.
