A/N: Reminder: Italic text is being spoken in Trigedasleng and Raven cannot understand.
Anya let Raven drive them back to camp, strong, thin arms squeezing her tight all the while. It was the best day of Raven's life, and she never wanted it to end.
A crowd of grounders packed the empty space in the encirclement of cabins when they returned, the bonfire raging as usual, did they ever let it burn out?
Upon removing her helmet, Raven was met with the mouth-watering scent of barbecue and charcoal. A deadly combination that made her stomach rumble to new extremes.
Anya laughed as she dismounted the bike and looked at Raven. "Hungry?"
How did she know? Surely, she couldn't have heard Raven's stomach's obnoxious growling over the ruckus of the group, could she?
Though smiling, embarrassment met Raven's lips as she nodded her head and accepted the hand extended her.
They hung their helmets on the handlebars. When Raven removed her new gloves, she went to stuff them in her pocket, but they were quickly snatched up by Anya, who stacked them with her own and flung them under the seat's secret compartment.
Raven smirked and met the biker's gaze, who shrugged.
"What? I like having your stuff mixed with mine."
Raven blushed, she liked the idea herself. Chuckling together, an arm wrapped itself around Raven's shoulders and guided her toward the center of camp where what seemed another festival of sorts was taking place. Did these grounders ever take a break?
Music filtered through the air, but as Raven took a closer look, the grounders weren't up to their usual rambunctious behavior. Although some sat on logs conversing happily, no one was roughhousing or dancing.
It seemed most of the gang members were simply going about their business moving boxes or logs around, carrying tools to various parts of the camp. Some entered and exited different cabins with the materials.
Some areas had stalls set up, not like a retail or place of sale, but a place for work. Some tables grounders sat around weaving nets while others mended ripped garments, some of them the same jackets as Anya's.
Another sound caught Raven's ear as they moved further inside the camp, a crashing of metal against metal. A giant shirtless muscly beast of a man stood over an anvil; a giant hammer held overhead before he brought it crashing down to the glowing metallic object he held against the heavy metallic structure.
Then he dropped it into a vat of water behind him, the water sizzling against the heat and shooting steam lines into the air. Then he reached for another long steel object from the giant pit of fire beside him, the circle of stone keeping the flames inside.
This must have been a typical day in the life of the gang. Raven enjoyed being able to see them in the casual state.
"Hope you brought your appetite, babe."
Raven whipped her head around at Anya's words as they reached their destination. Several BBQ's had been set up in a line in one corner of the camp behind several tables displaying mountains of food.
The platters were lined up buffet style, piled high with every kind of meat Raven could think of! Every size and type of steak that ever existed, same with the rib mountains, and generously sauced plates of chicken. Endless bowls of bacon and hotdogs and sausages.
Raven's mouth watered; her stomach flipped with such violence it would have frightened her had she been paying attention.
They neared the tables, and Anya passed her an empty plate before digging in herself, the grounder showing no shame or humility when packing on the various meats.
Raven's gaze roamed the table, and she laughed. "Guess you guys aren't a fan of vegetables."
Anya snorted. "That's our food's food. We're all carnivores around here."
She turned as she said that last part, a pair of tongs in hand as she slapped the largest beef rib Raven had ever seen on her plate. Raven's eyes bulged at the sight.
The serving had to be at least ten times the portion size any sane person would consider consuming. It was slathered in a deep burgundy colored sauce, the sweet, tangy richness of it intruded Raven's senses, sending a strange feeling of euphoria through her.
She'd never felt quite so excited over food before. It was a new experience. One she was eager to indulge.
"Take as much as you want, Raven. No one's gonna judge you in this place." There was amusement in Anya's eyes as she watched Raven finally start to pile up her plate with all the artery-clogging meats.
She didn't take as much as Anya, but she wanted to. Her dignity had to stop her at some point, though. Plus, it wouldn't have been sexy if she had to hang out with her head over a toilet for the rest of the day.
Anya handed Raven a bottle of water once they reached the end of the meat station, then set off in search of a table a few feet away.
Anya chose an empty wooden one nearest the bonfire. Raven wasted no time planting her ass beside the blonde's and picking up the first rib bone that had been teasing her since her eyes first landed on it.
The slick texture of it was so inviting; the meat pulled from the bone with almost no effort on Raven's part. She closed her eyes and savored the first tangy bite, it was like heaven itself had set up shop and exploded inside her mouth.
A laugh broke her thoughts, causing her to open her eyes to find Anya's.
"Good?" Although smiling, Raven sent a look of confusion, which Anya promptly answered. "You were moaning, babe."
Raven started laughing, struggling while trying her darndest to cover her mouth and keep it closed to hide away the half-chewed morsels of food in her mouth.
Two more grounders joined them just then. Luckily, faces Raven recognized. Lincoln and Gaia sat down with their own piled plates. These people definitely weren't health-conscious that was for sure. Raven was surprised the entire camp weren't bursting at the seams.
But as she looked around, she noticed everyone's body type matched with Anya's, Gaia's and Lincolns. Everyone quite trim and fit. It made no sense.
This has got to be their cheat day or something, Raven thought to herself.
As if Raven's distracted thoughts had become offensive to her stomach all of a sudden, her stomach did another vicious flip, her heart slammed against her chest, and suddenly all she could see was red, all she could think about was the tower of meat in front of her.
Her fingers snatched up a handful of bacon and stuffed it in her mouth; teeth pressed together violently as she gulped it down and reached for more. It wasn't long before she graduated to eating with two hands, a chicken leg in one and sausage in the other.
All the lessons and manners in politeness from her upbringing were quickly abandoned. She couldn't be bothered acting lady-like or even human for that matter, she just mindlessly shoveled it in.
Raven began to see the meat on her plate in a whole new way without even realizing it. The more she ate, the more she could taste. Her suddenly oversensitive palette was thrown into overdrive. She felt more, hungered harder than ever before.
She chalked up the experience to starvation. She must've burnt all her reserves with all the sex she'd been having with Anya, not to mention the crazy adrenalin-induced cliff dive she performed the day before or insane speed ride down the coast that morning.
"Damn, Raven, you can really put it away!"
It was Lincoln's shocked amusement that broke Raven from her trance. When she looked up, everyone at the table was staring at her.
Anya froze mid-bite as dark hazels stared Raven down, concern and deep thought hung heavy on her brow for several seconds before she moved again. She swallowed the last of the food in her mouth before amusement returned to her eyes.
She chuckled as she slid down the bench closer to Raven, one leg each side until the brunette was sitting between them.
"Good?" she mused.
"Okay, I'm gonna die of embarrassment now," Raven whispered.
"Don't worry about it," Anya comforted as she leaned forward and licked Raven right across her cheek.
Raven squealed with laughter. "What are you doing?"
"You have sauce on your face. I'm helping."
Another long enthusiastic lick swiped across Raven's cheek, then over her lips and around her mouth. Giggling like a crazy person, Raven tried to pull away only for Anya's arms to wrap around her, holding her in place as she cleaned away the evidence of Raven's earlier face shovelling incident.
Lincoln and Gaia chuckled across the table; the display must have been quite comical. Anya ended the cleaning service with a long kiss, a gentle one. She was always conscious of Raven's cut lip, which only melted Raven further.
Just as Anya pulled away to return to her food, two more grounders approached the table. Two very unhappy grounders judging by the anger on their faces and fire in their eyes.
Raven recognized them immediately, Luna and Echo. Their first encounter had been an unkind one, and something told Raven this one wasn't about to go any smoother.
A long leg clad in a thigh-high leather boot slammed itself on the bench opposite Raven beside where Gaia was sitting. The table shook, the plates rattling in unison with it, drawing everyone's gaze to the furious gang member. Luna glared daggers at Raven before turning to Anya.
Why do you keep bringing it here? It's vermin, and it's unsettling the pack. Finish playing with it already and cut it loose!"
Raven had no idea what was being said, but it couldn't have been anything good because Anya shot up from her seat, puffing her chest out and staring Luna down with more intensity than Raven had ever seen.
"Watch your words, Luna." It was Anya speaking now, her tone unnerving. "No one has a problem with her but you and your lackeys. I'm keeping this one. So you best find a way to deal with that."
"You're going to regret that decision. It doesn't belong here. It could never be one of us."
They glare at one another awhile longer before Luna lets out an agitated grunt then spins on her heel to storm away, Echo in tow.
Anya didn't return to her seat; instead, she held a hand out to Raven. "Are you done eating? We should go."
Raven happily took the hand offered; she couldn't get out of there fast enough after whatever just went down.
She glanced over at Lincoln and Gaia to give her farewells but stopped before the words could leave her mouth.
Lincoln and Gaia were staring at one another with intense expressions, as though they were communicating an entire conversation just through looking at each other. They'd always showed Raven kindness, but maybe that wasn't how they really felt after all.
Anya led Raven back through the camp, and they didn't stop until she'd pulled them both safely inside her cabin and shut the door. She still seemed tense for some reason.
"Anya," Raven started, "Is everything okay? Was what happened back there… was it about me?"
Anya turned to face Raven again, eyes softening as she took Raven's chin in her hand. "Pay no mind to the outcasts. I want you here. That's all that matters."
Raven opened her mouth to ask another question, but as if to end the discussion, Anya enveloped her lips before she had a chance.
"Mmmm, you taste good, Raven."
And just like that, Raven was laughing and at ease again. Undoubtedly, she still tasted of that amazing barbecue sauce.
"I still can't believe I pigged out like that. I've never done anything like that before in my life."
There was something odd about the way Anya looked at her just then as if she were studying Raven carefully, inspecting her in some way. But then as before, Anya's expression turned back into an amused one as though nothing had happened.
"Can you stay longer?" Anya asked, hopefully. "Or do I gotta take you back to the girlfriend?" she said that last part like it made a bad taste in her mouth.
Raven threw her arms around the biker and gave her a quick peck on the lips before saying, "I do need to get back. But… I could use a shower first."
Anya's face lit up. "Sure, and I'd be happy to help you with that if you want."
Raven laughed again, kissing the grounder as she walked them both back toward the bathroom. Their clothes came away along the journey, jackets and tank tops first, followed by trousers and underwear.
They backed through the door before Anya lifted Raven in the air and planted her ass on the small bathroom counter, anxious hands fondling Raven's panties down her legs and flinging them somewhere behind. She shimmied her own off immediately after, their lips never breaking contact until Anya finally moved away to turn the shower faucet.
It was only then Raven noticed the comical size of the bathroom. The counter she was perched upon wasn't much bigger than her frame, the tiny stand-up shower stood inline immediately beside the sink. It looked barely large enough for one person to fit inside, let alone two! How did Anya plan to squeeze them both in there?
"This should be fun," Anya chuckled, apparently already reading Raven's bewildered expression.
Anya entered first, pulling Raven inside with her. Their breasts crushed together, Raven's back immediately pressed against the cold shower wall behind, fitting them into a non-negotiable permanent hug. There was more giggling than sexiness going on as they wormed their bodies around, even their toes kept crashing together.
The water fell right over their heads, running over their mouths and threatening to drown them. Eventually, Anya just turned the showerhead to the side so that it would splatter on the wall instead.
Then she turned and caught Raven in a deep, passionate surprise kiss that lasted a long time.
"Okay, not my best idea," Anya laughed when the kiss ended.
"Still really fun, though." Raven had to twist and wretch her arms between their stomachs and breasts until her elbows could pop over their crushed mounds into freedom.
Finally free, Raven threw her arms around Anya's neck and held her close. Anya's arms remained around Raven's hips; it was one of Raven's favorite embraces with the grounder.
They continued to laugh endlessly as Anya tried to grind against Raven, but there wasn't even enough room for that. All Anya's hott movements only served to fluster Raven all over again. They made out a long time instead, the actual showering part abandoned.
Anya was careful with Raven's still cut lip, which was starting to sting with all the attention it'd been receiving that day. If it took much more assault, Raven was sure it was going to split open and bleed all over again.
OoOoO
"You know, Raven, you look great in that new jacket."
Raven dismounted the bike, missing the contact of the handlebars and Anya's firm grip around her waist immediately. Then she removed her helmet and handed it to Anya, throwing her gloves inside.
"Oh, yeah?" Raven mused, sauntering close to Anya after she'd scooted up the bike seat. "Maybe I can model it for you sometime?"
Anya's hazels danced with relish. "Could you model only the jacket?"
"Hmmm, I think that could be arranged." Raven's response earned a pleased grin from Anya, who leaned in for a long gentle goodbye kiss. "Thanks again, by the way. For the jacket, for the… fun."
Anya smiled and nodded before cocking her head to one side, her eyes dark as her gaze roamed over Raven. "When can I see you again?"
Raven frowned and looked away, not liking the answer she was about to give. "Not sure, I really can't miss any more classes." Her expression turned sultry as she met Anya's gaze again. "But don't let that stop you from texting me."
Anya grinned, "Naughty things?"
Raven wanted to say yes, in fact, it killed her not to, she turned her head, looking back at the dorm then to Anya. "Errr…"
Anya's eyes fell, but the smirk stayed in place. "I get it. The girlfriend can't know."
Raven's expression turned serious, she placed a hand on Anya's arm, looking deep into understanding hazels. "You're the one I want." Her tone was so serious and filled with such conviction it surprised herself. "I don't know how or when just yet, but I'm gonna end things with Clarke."
Anya gave a forced smile; Raven wasn't sure the biker believed her or not. Then, Anya patted Raven's hand and pulled on her helmet. Raven turned to leave, but Anya stopped her.
"Hey, uhhh…" Raven turned, a brow raised. It was odd to hear the uncertainty in Anya's words. The grounder was always confident and articulate. "If you feel weird or anything later… call me, okay?"
Raven frowned. "Why would I feel weird?"
Anya shrugged and replaced her helmet without further explanation. "Just call if you do. Oh, and don't kiss Clarke today—just in case. Later, babe."
The bike revved to life, and without another word, Anya sped off down the street. Raven stood staring after the grounder still confused. That was an odd comment.
What could Anya have meant by Raven feeling weird? And why didn't she want Raven to kiss her girlfriend?
A small smirk pulled at the corner of her mouth as she thought perhaps Anya was finally showing signs of jealousy. She liked the idea of the biker wanting Raven all to herself.
Shrugging off the weird conversation, Raven sighed as she turned back toward the dorm. She swallowed hard, knowing Clarke was probably inside waiting for her, probably furious as ever.
Was she really going to do this? Was she going to break up with her girlfriend, who'd she'd spent years of her life with?
It was going to happen at some point. It had to. If Raven wanted Anya, which she desperately did, there was no other choice. Anya would probably have gone on forever being Raven's mistress, but it wasn't fair to her. And Raven wanted to give her more. She deserved better.
With a deep breath, Raven moved toward the building. Her nerves rattled through her as she climbed the stairs and mentally prepared for whatever was coming, readying for the fight that was surely awaiting her on the other side of the dorm room door.
Fingers slipped around the cool smooth doorknob and began to twist, her heart slammed against her chest as she pushed it open and stepped inside.
When she gazed around the room, and her eyes found Clarke's, Raven's breath caught in her throat.
She only had one definitive thought at that moment.
Oh shit, I'm going to hell.
