Avengers Elseworlds Chapter 22

"You'll find that our will is equal to yours!" Kara adds

"Indeed. But now is not the time" said MAR Novu as he overpowers the restraints and slams his fist to the ground sending the heroes flying.

Novu them opens up a portal leaves to find Deegan.

"I offered you godhood and you squandered it on a petty dream. Do better. Think bigger"

Novu then hands Deegan the book a he opens it up to change reality even further.

Later Barry and Oliver find themselves in an alley both wearing leather jackets, scarves and gloves.

"What the hell? Where'd he go?" asked Barry.

"He went to give Deegan the book back" Oliver adds as he looks at his clothes.

"How'd you know?" asked Barry.

Barry then sees a newspaper on the ground and picks it up.

"He did it again. He rewrote reality"

"How far you think the charges are this time?"

Then police Sirens wail as officers point their guns at Barry and Oliver.

"FREEZE !"

"ON THE GROUND!"

"NOW!"

Oliver and Barry quickly put their hands up in surrender.

"Uh speed us out of here" said Barry

"I can't. Can you?" Oliver asked

"Nope" Barry answered

One of the officers takes off his sunglasses as he's revealed to be one of Oliver's current foes Ricardo Díaz.

"Oliver Queen. I've been waiting to do this for a long time"

But as Oliver was getting cuffed, he quickly attacked Díaz, takes his gun and fired at the officers scaring them away and punching Díaz.

"Okay so follow you?" Barry asked as the two flee.

Barry and Oliver run through a construction zone as they were suddenly met with the arrival of a black suited Superman.

"There's no place you can run where I can't find you. It's over" he tells the two.

"What are you talking about?" Oliver asked.

"Clark it's us. Barry and Oliver" Barry adds

"Oh I know who you are. Your confusion lies with me" said Superman

"Deegan? The Monitor gave you the book back? " Oliver asked

"He showed me how to really use it"

"You can't just write yourself as a hero it doesn't work that way" Barry said

"Doesn't it though? You were struck by lightning, I was given the book by a higher power both random acts of chance, with this, this is my destiny much more than becoming The Flash was ever yours" Deegan said.

"People don't become heroes because of circumstance if they become heroes in spite of circumstance." said Barry

"You're just a cheap knockoff" Oliver added

"Oh I'm anything but cheap" said Deegan as he used heat vision on nearby gas as the explosion caused a tower to begin to lean.

"Just until you see what other fun changes I've made. To your family, your friends. There is no safe harbor for you. This is no longer your world it's mine!" Deegan shouts

Deegan then stomps his foot causing an earthquake sending Barry and Oliver crashing through boxes.

"Barry" Oliver signaled

"Don't worry I got you" Barry replied tossing him the gun.

Oliver takes aim as Deegan adds

"Idiots. I'm bulletproof"

"I know" said Oliver as he shoots the tower as is begins to fall.

"You wanna be earth's hero? Save the children or stop us" Barry said

"Your choice... Superman" Oliver adds

Deegan flies up to stop the tower from falling as the children cheer for him, he nods and puts it somewhere safe. Leaving Barry and Oliver to make their escape.
