Chapter 17: Final Moments (Battle of Alrest State Park, Part 2)

In the final moments before one's death, it is said that their most cherished memories flash before their eyes. It was true for Nia.

For Nia, time seemed to slow down. She could see the knife slowly flying toward her, ready to spill her blood and end her life. Nia should have been scared that her life was about to end, but she was sad. Sad that her time with Rex would end.

There was a sickening thud as the knife landed. But not in Nia. Rex, from in front of Nia, turned around to face Nia. She opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out.

Rex stood before her, Jin's knife sticking out of his chest. Blood was already seeping out of the wound, making his shirt red.

Rex said one word before he collapsed into the already growing pool of blood in the grass.
