Chapter nineteen missing
Elle's POV
I kissed Lee back because I could feel his pain and didn't want to add to it. I wanted to comfort him, we had kissed before and it had never meant anything. But, when he continued kissing me furiously, I knew it wasn't the same this time. Lee was seeking more than the comfort of his best friend. He began to feel my breasts and I squired uncomfortably. He let me push him away gently and he beamed at me. It hurt me that he was so happy and I knew that I was about to break his heart.
I stood up and I couldn't get what I needed to say out. Lee confirmed what I already knew, and I knew I had to get out of there. He let me go, and I left the house, using the back entrance. I didn't want to go past Noah and his parents. I couldn't tell them what had happened. I had let both of them down. I should never had allowed Lee to kiss me. I had given him false hope and now his heart was surely broken and it was all my fault. And Noah,
Oh Noah…
What I had done to him was unforgivable. I kept hurting him at every turn. I had agreed to be his wife. To marry him and love him forever. Yet, I had already broken my promise to him. I had cheated on him again. And this time it was with his own brother.
I didn't deserve either of them, I deserved to be alone. I ran all the way home, thinking about how I had fucked things up yet again. No one was home, when I let myself in and ran straight to my room. I began to pack my things hastily. I didn't know were I was going to go. But I knew that it needed to be far from here. I turned my cell off – it was ringing for what must have been the 15th time since I had left Lee's - and shoved it into one of my bags.
Noah's POV
I went back downstairs, to see my parents staring at the front door in shock.
"Where's Lee going?" my mother asked in concern.
"I don't know" I said, and I tried Elle's phone again. It went to voicemail again and a horrible feeling fell into the pit of my stomach.
What had happened?
I thought about were Elle might have been right now. I knew that I needed to find her. Lee didn't tell me what had happened, and it wasn't like Elle to just leave without saying anything. Something serious had happened.
I grabbed my car keys and headed towards the door, determined to find Elle.
"Wat, Noah where are you going?" my mother called after me, but I didn't reply, as I ran out the door.
Racheal's POV
Things were going well. Marco hadn't even tried to use protection with me. He had asked after we were done. But I told him I was on the pill and he didn't question me anymore. The sex had been good. Well, it was at least better than it had been with Lee. Marco didn't hold back like Lee tended to do.
When I came back the next day, Marco had put up another weak fight. It wasn't hard to convince him to do it again. I did consider giving up my plans and staying wi9th Marco. I knew that he would give me what I wanted and in time he would come to love me. But I thought about what it would be like to be with Noah. I wanted Noah badly and I didn't want to settle like I had been doing. My plan was going to work, I knew it would. So, I wasn't giving up now.
Lee's POV
I rushed over to Elle's in panic. I had assumed, that she was downstairs with Noah and my parents. So, I waited in my room for her to come back to me. I did feel nervous about Elle telling them what had happened between us. But the sooner they knew the better. Noah would call off the wedding. And Elle could sort out her feelings for me. And then, we could be together like we were meant to be. I had tried to ring and text her, because she was taking a long time to come back up.
When Noah had come looking for Elle, I knew that Elle must have left the house. I began to panic. It wasn't like Elle to just leave without saying anything. And I was terrified that she was going to run away and not come back.
I drove to Elle's house, praying she would still be there. I knew that she wasn't as soon as I noticed her car was missing from the driveway. But I still let myself in with my key and rushed up to her room anyway.
Her room looked like a hurricane had passed through it. Draws were pulled out of her dresser and her closet was almost completely empty. I pulled out my hair in frustration, trying to think of were she must have gone.
Elle had left her laptop and I ran over to it. I opened it up and looked at the search history. I was on the website she had been on, when I heard someone come into the house. I ran to the landing, hoping it would be Elle. But it was Noah. He ran up the stairs, three at a time.
"What are you doing here?" I said irritated.
"Looking for my fiancée" he replied, just as irritated.
"Well, I am on it. So, go home" I ordered. He slammed into me and nocked me to the ground.
"Tell me what is going on!" he said furiously. I tried to push him away, but he was strong than me.
"Elle's gone missing" I growled at him.
"I know that. But what I want to know is why" he said furiously.
I growled at him and tried again to push him away. He slammed my head back painfully.
"We kissed OK. Elle got scared because we kissed. She loves me in the same way that I love her. And she is scared of telling you" I shouted at him.
Noah punched me in my face and got off of me, only to pull me to my feet. "She does not love you. I get that you are hurt right now. But Elle is with me. She loves me, you know that. You have hurt her because you're hurt" he said, spitting in my face.
I shook my head. He was wrong. I knew he was going to be upset by what happened between me and Elle, and he wouldn't want to come to terms with the truth. So, I expected him to be like this. But at least now he knew what had happened and I had spared Elle the awkwardness of telling him.
He looked at me with disgust and then let me go. He ran into Elle's room and I foolowed him. He looked at the open laptop and didn't hesitate. He pushed me aside and ran out of the house, with me hot on his heels.
