PART 2
Chapter 2x9: Druid Class 101
Stiles and Nate go to talk with Lydia about the pattern of the three virgins and saying they need a new pattern giving that Kyle the last victim wasn't a virgin and she points out that they need another victim to establish a pattern and that it's not Stiles job to investigate that and that he should live it to his dad.
"Ok, so Lydia didn't help much, what are we gonna do now?" - asked Nate
"We are going to Deaton's" - said Stiles as he drive the jeep
"Damn, I still don't have a dog" - joked Nate
"Scott isn't there anyway" - joked back Stiles making Nate laugh
"Why are we going there?" - asked Nate
"Because my dad doesn't know about supernatural to see the real pattern, so the one that can help us figure out the pattern is him" - explained Stiles
"Well Sherlock, I think we are about to figure that out" - said Nate
"Oh we do my dear Watson" - said Stiles with a smirk
"You both are out of school early" - said Deaton
"Yeah, free period, actually" - lied Stiles
"I ditched but I can catch up later" - said Nate confidently without even trying to lie
"You probably heard people are kind of getting murdered again, it's my dad's job to figure it out, but it gets kind of hard for him to do his job when he doesn't have all the information and we all know he's missing pretty much half the story here, so I remembered someone who does have a lot of information, someone who always seems to know more than anyone else around here…you" - explained Stiles
"Ok, I heard you" - said Deaton crossing his arms
"He is not finish, you better sit" - said Nate climb to sit on a counter
"All these symbols and things...the triskeles, the bank logo, the Mountain ash... all of it is from the Celtic druids and anyone who has ever looked up human sacrifice before knows that the druids had a pretty big hard-on when it came to giving one up to the gods, you ever hear of the lindow man? 2,000-year-old body found in England? He was found strangled, head bashed in, throat cut, threefold death, they also found pollen grains in his stomach, guess what favorite druid plant that was" - rambled Stiles
"Mistletoe" said Deaton
"I'm just telling you everything you already know, aren't I? Then why aren't you telling us something?" - said Stiles with his hands on his hips
"Maybe because we've spent every moment of the last ten years trying to push something away, denying it, lying about it becomes a pretty powerful habit" - explained Deaton
"All right, so this guy...is he a druid?" - asked Nate
"No, it's someone copying a centuries-old practice of a people who should have known better, do you know what the word "druid" means in Gaelic?" - asked Deaton to Stiles
"No" - answered Stiles
""Wise oak" The Celtic druids were close to nature, they believed they kept it in balance, they were philosophers and scholars, they weren't serial killers" - said Deaton
"Yeah, well, this one is" - said Nate while Stiles answered his phone
"Wait, what? Yeah, are you sure he's missing?" - asked Stiles on the phone
"Who is missing?" - asked Nate while Stiles hold a finger up to him
"Ok, sees you in a bit" - said Stiles hanging up the phone
"Who was that?" - asked Nate
"Lydia, the music teacher is missing, we gotta go back to school" - said Stiles
The teens go back to the school to meet up with Lydia with Deaton tagging along with them to see what she have find out and when they get there she show them the recording of the chanting she found in the music class.
"Can I get a copy of this?" - asked Deaton after hearing the recording and Lydia grabbed the phone and started to do that
"Hey, doc, any help would be, you know...helpful" - said Stiles
"Each grouping of three would have its own purpose, its own type of power, virgins, healers, philosophers, warriors-" - started to say Deaton
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, warrior, could that also be like a soldier?" - interrupted Stiles
"Absolutely" - said Deaton
"Kyle was in R.O.T.C. with Boyd, that's got to be it, that's the pattern" - said Stiles
"Where's Boyd?" - asked Deaton
"He's probably home by now, I'm gonna try and get him on the phone" - said Nate taking his phone out going through his contacts
"Lydia? Something wrong?" - asked Deaton when he saw Lydia looking thoughtful and Nate stopped his actions to look at the girl as well
"No, I mean...I just thought of someone else with a military connection" - said Lydia
"Who?" - asked Stiles
"Mr. Harris" - said Lydia
"I saw his car when we parked outside" - said Nate
"Let's go" - said Stiles
And the four walked out of the music class to Mr. Harris classroom but they didn't find him in there, just a bunch of papers on the desk.
"This is just one of many possibilities, he could have simply left for the day" - explained Deaton when they found the empty classroom
"Yeah, well...not without this" - said Stiles showing the tests he was correcting but then he started to look at them more carefully
"What?" - asked Nate seeing how the hazel eyed boy was looking at the tests
"This test is graded "R"" - said Stiles
"This one's an "H"" - said Lydia grabbing another one
"Those aren't actual grades" - said Nate
"Let me see" - said Deaton and then he started to arrange the test he corrected that weren't all the ones on the table
"Darach?" - asked Nate reading the word spelled by the tests
"Do you guys remember I told you "druid" is the Gaelic word for "wise oak"?" - asked Deaton to Stiles and Nate
"Yeah" - said Stiles
"If a druid went down the wrong path, the wise oak was sometimes said to have become a dark oak, there's a Gaelic word for that as well...Darach" - explained Deaton
"So…we are basically looking for a "Dark Druid"?" - asked Nate confused
"Yeah" - said Deaton
"Do you guys think…Mr. Harris is..." - started to say Lydia
"Possibly" - said Stiles finishing her idea
"But why?" - asked Nate
"Sacrifice" - said Stiles
"No, I know, but why the sacrifices?" - asked Nate
"Well, we can't do anything right now but wait tomorrow and see what happened with Harris, you guys should go and rest" - said Deaton
"Well, you heard the man" - said Nate
"Need a ride?" - asked Stiles to Lydia
"No, I'm fine, I have my car, see you guys later" - said Lydia walking away
"Shall we?" - asked Stiles to Nate
"Sure" - said Nate
Stiles give a ride first to Deaton back to the clinic and before taking Nate to Scott's place they go to a fast food place to get something to eat, after buying the food Stiles drove to a cliff that was almost out of Beacon Hills where you could watch the whole city, to Nate it was a beautiful sight to see, they got out of the jeep to sit on the hood, eat their food and chat.
"So what do you still think that look weird with the cap?" - asked Stiles
"I never said you look weird, I just said that I didn't imagine you as a guy that wears caps" - said Nate smiling while eating a French fry - "but you look nice" - he added
"Thanks" - said Stiles smiling at the boy next to him - "So…how do you think you are gonna work out the whole spy thing?" - He asked
"I really don't know Stiles" - said Nate while taking a bite of his burger
"Well you should, I mean, you are going to trick an Alpha, you need a plan, not just jump into it" - explained Stiles before biting his own burger
"I know, I know" - said Nate - "well…I just flirt with him, make out, maybe a couple of dates and I'll be good" - he explained while eating a French fry
"What about if he wants to have sex?" - asked Stiles grabbing some fries as well
"I would go that far if it's compromising my cover up, but truly I really hope I don't need to go that far" - confessed Nate
"Why? You're not virgin and didn't you say you were single?" - asked Stiles curious
"I did…but after thinking about it…I don't think I'm in for like meaningless sex after all, I mean having sex without feelings isn't really that good…I think" - said Nate
"How do you even know that?" - asked Stiles biting his burger
"Because…" - trailed Nate turning to look at Stiles debating if he should tell the truth about how far did he go with Peter…but decided not to because to be honest he didn't even know what came into him that moment - "well I don't, but with Isaac it felt good because we care for each other, the connection is important and I don't think you can get that from just any sex experience" - explained Nate while grabbing fries
"Well…I just hope whatever you do, you are safe" - said Stiles
"Awww, do you worry about me?" - teased Nate
"Of course I do, isn't that thing you are wearing around your neck and planning a birthday movie night for you enough proof of that?" - asked Stiles
"Well….I guess it is" - said Nate blushing while looking down at his necklace and then at their food that Stiles buy for both…his mind wondered if this is a date…but he decided against that, Stiles liked Lydia, they were just friends - "we should do another movie night" - he declared before his mind could keep spinning
"You want to?" - asked Stiles feeling excited and Nate nodded while biting his burger
They started to talk about movies they could watch for the next movie night and Nate was glad they changed the subject, he really didn't wanted to go deep in talk with Stiles about the whole Ethan/Peter thing.
When they finished eating it started to rain so Stiles took Nate back to Scott's and when the werewolf got out of the jeep Stiles stayed parked until Nate was right at the door, when Nate waved goodbye to him at the door he waved back before riding away.
Nate felt very good about his day with Stiles, been close to the pale boy make him feel at ease and since yesterday everything feels weird to him, so he was happy about something good, the silver haired boy walked to the kitchen were Melissa was, he greeted her while she asked if he could help her finish dinner and Nate agreed but he needed a minute to go upstairs.
"Hey Scotty!" - called out Nate and then he stopped his tracks almost at the door of Scott's bedroom door - "Isaac?" - He gasped surprised
A/N: I love that little "date moment" with Nate and Stiles, seems like even Nate have Ethan on the sight he is building up things with Stiles, who do you think is better for Nate? Isaac, Ethan, or Stiles?
