Sonic lay back against the one wall that didn't shock him every time he came near it. His thoughts raced almost as fast as he did. He had to figure a way out of here. Not only was his family probably worried sick, but he was Randell's trump card. He knew that he was bait. No way was he going through with that.

He could try to Spin Dash at the wall. No; already tried that. His quills were still a bit black. Maybe if he could find the power source for the cell wall, he could somehow bring down the walls.

He looked down into his lap and his watch caught his eye. 'Or I could just call everyone on my communicator.' He mentally facepalmed himself. Why hadn't he thought of that when he got here? Oh well, better late than never.

Just as he reached for the communicator however, Randell walked into the room he was confined in. Of course, he had on that cloak. Just what was it with this guy and his cloak?

"Hello again, Sonic."

Sonic decided to play it like Shadow. "Hmph."

"Still not in a friendly mood, huh?" He didn't seem as annoyed with his lack of a response than Sonic expected. "I'm sure you'll lighten up soon enough."

"If you let me out, then I'd really lighten up," the hedgehog stated, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Oh, you know I can't do that. It'd ruin my entire plan." Sonic couldn't see his face, but he was pretty sure that he was grinning evilly. "After all, I need you to drag in those siblings of yours. But I won't go into too much detail. I'm not as dumb as that Robotnik. Or, should I say, Eggman?"

"Oh, please." Sonic rolled his eyes up toward the ceiling then moved up to the wall so he stood face to face with Randell. "You want to steal the other three medallions and use their power for some type of super power and become super powerful to take over Robotnik's empire."

For a moment, they just stared at each other. They both knew he got it right.

"Hmph." Randell's turn to pull a Shadow.

He stormed out of the room without a word. Sonic was glad. Now he had a chance to call the others. He flipped out the small screen from his watch.

"Low battery? Really?"

The charts all seemed to make no sense. They didn't seem to connect at all. Cyrus and Tails made something out of them though, so they had to mean something.

"Tails, are you sure?" Cyrus leaned over the computer with the reynard.

"I'm sure. All the readings show it." The kitsune released a large yawn. He had large, dark circles under his eyes and his eyelids drooped so that half of his eyes were hidden.

"Tails," Shadow bent down to his level. "Did you stay up all night, working?"

"Uh, maybe." He shook his head, shaking out the drowsiness. "But I'm not going to bed. I'm going to find Sonic."

They had to give him this. He was definitely determined.

"Here, I'll bring it up on the map." The fox rapidly hit the keys to bring up the correct files. A map appeared onto the screen. Different colors were covering the land masses. "This shows different Chaos Energy levels in the area." He waved his hand toward a green area on the map. "This is where the most energy was detected around the time Randell took Sonic. This shows that they should be…" He studied over the area for a moment before pointing to a small space in the middle on the green. "here!"

"Awesome! You did it, Tails!" Manic cheered.

The fox blushed and smiled at the hedgehog's praise. "Yeah! Now we can go save Sonic!"

"Right. We'll go gather the supplies for the trip." Sonia started toward the door. "Come on, Manic."

The hedgehog followed his sister until a call stopped them both in their tracks. "Wait. What do you want me to do?"

"Rest," Sonia ordered. "You've been up all night getting that. You've earned a nap. We're leaving in the morning."

He was about to protest, but Shadow grabbed his shoulders and forced him to sit on the sofa. "Sleep, fox boy."

For a moment, he just sat there. He didn't want to go to bed; he wanted to help Sonic. But his eyelids said otherwise. "Fine. I'll rest."

"Good. Come on, guys." The three exited, saying good night to Tails on the way out. Shadow lightly rubbed his back, trying to get him to fall asleep faster.

When they were gone, the dog fox picked up his Miles Electric and chose a special app. What came up was a picture of him, Sonic, and Knuckles in Station Square a short time after their adventure with Metal Overlord. He had a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone and was sitting calmly next to Sonic. Sonic and Knuckles on the other hand… Sonic was messing around with Knuckles, causing him to drop his cookie dough ice cream. The picture had been taken right before the snack had made contact with the table. He remembered Knuckles had given Sonic a new bruise that day.

He giggled to himself. Shadow, who was looking over Tails' shoulder, chuckled softly. All those adventures still seemed fresh in Tails' mind. Before they knew about Sonic (and, by extension, Shadow) being a prince. Before his birthday party had been crashed by his siblings. Before they had come to Robotropolis. Before he had been kidnapped.

The fox yawned again, still looking down at the screen.

'I'm not going to be able to sleep. Even with how tired I am,' he thought as he slid to the next picture.

That's how far he got before his eyes slowly closed and he fell into a deep sleep. Shadow lightly rubbing his back helped. Smirking, Shadow took the Miles Electric from the young tod and started looking at the pictures.

When they got back, tired from loading the supplies, the first thing they saw was Tails sleeping on Shadow's shoulder. Shadow was still looking at the Miles Electric, one arm wrapped protectively around the cub. Shadow looked up at them.

Sonia gently took the computer from him and saw the picture that was shown on the screen. "Hey, guys. Come look at this."

The others circled around the computer. On the screen was a picture showing Tails wearing a birthday hat sitting in front of Sonic with a birthday cake lit with five candles with 'Happy 5th Birthday' written in icing. Sonic had his arm out going off the screen, holding the camera. Tails had a smile spreading almost as big as his face and was waving at the camera while Sonic had his hand on his shoulder. It was his fifth birthday.

"He fell asleep while he was looking at these old photos," Shadow informed them. Manic slid his finger across the monitor, bringing the next picture up.

It showed Sonic and Knuckles wrestling on the ground. It looked like they were on Angel Island with the jungle in the background and the stone staircase to the side. Sonic was on top of Knuckles, putting him in a headlock. Knuckles looked very annoyed while Sonic was smiling mischievously down at him. Lots of different areas of grass were flattened down, so they could guess that the two had been wrestling earlier as well.

They swiped to the next, which showed Sonic sitting on the top of the wings of the blue-and-yellow plane they saw when Sonic saved them from Eggman when they first arrived in Green Hill. They were in a hanger with a large door open behind them and tools were scattered around the plane. Sonic was looking down toward the engine where two tails were hanging in the air. The hedgehog had some oil on his hands. He must have been helping Tails fix up the plane or something.

Another showed Cream and Cheese sitting in the middle of a field of flowers with half-made flower crowns in their laps, waving at the camera. Cheese was holding a group of flowers and his orb was in the form of a heart. In the distance, there were even more chao playing in the flowers.

The following picture showed Tails taking a piggyback ride on Sonic. He looked about six in the picture. They were running around some city with weird blue roads with hexagon patterns on them. They were both smiling and laughing. Sonic's legs were a blur. It was surprising that whoever was taking the picture got a clear shot at all.

Sliding to the next picture, they saw Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles hiding behind a large bush, peering out into the area in front of them. They couldn't see what they were looking at though. The three didn't seem to notice however it was who was taking the picture.

They slid to the next picture, showing the three discovered that they had been busted. Sonic was falling, halfway to the ground when they picture was taken. His eyes were bugged out of his head and his mouth was wide with a yelp of surprise. Tails was whirling around to face the person taking the picture, making the bottom half of his body a big blur. Knuckles was jumping into the air. They couldn't see many details since he had jumped partly into the shrub.

"He seems so normal in these pictures," Sonia said sadly.

"There's nothing normal about Faker," Shadow remarked, smirking.

Manic took the computer from his sister. "We'll get to do that too one day."

"I don't know, Manic."

"I do." His sister looked at him, a question obvious in her eyes. "Don't you remember our day in Station Square?" Realization sparked in her eyes. "The only thing missing from that day is our bro."
