Chapter 20: A Reveal

It had been a few weeks, and Shadow, while still not being completely sure, had tried his best to stay there. He would even visit her at work on the weekends, sitting down for lunch while she cleaned tables and swept. His looming pressence did make civilians unsettled, but Sevie was cheerful.

Sevie and Shadow were walking back home from the Green Hills doctor's office. Shadow suggested using Chaos Control, but Sevie insisted it wasn't that far of a walk. Sevie held onto Shadow's hand happily as she walked, taking her time with a bright look on her face.

"Aren't you cold, Shadow?" Sevie said It was a chilly day in the Green Hills, so she had left with her jacket on. Shadow was stuborn as usual and only settled on wearing a scarf Sevie picked out.

"I'm fine." Shadow said, glancing away.

"Is it usually this cold around now?" Sevie pondered. "It is an island afterall."

"Yes." he said, speeding up a little. "It doesn't get much colder though. But north of here it snows all the time."

Sevie smiled. "That sounds nice. Have you been there on missions before?"

"Yes, time and time again." Shadow admited.

Sevie gripped his hand tighter with a smile. "I'm glad your back."

Shadow knodded.

They arrived at Sevie's house, and walked up the small driveway. Sevie smiled as Shadow opened the door.

"Surprise!" Amy, Sonic, Cream and Tails yelled as they ran out from the behind the Kitchen counter. Vanilla, Rouge and Blaze came out from the hallway.

Shadow jumped back as Sevie smiled brightly up at him. "Surprise!"

The roon was covered with streamers and purple balloons. "What is this?" Shadow said in confusion.

Tails perked up. "Sevie planned it-"

"- and Amy..." Amy corrected.

"... yeah, well, she had an appointment today for the baby, so they wanted to throw a baby shower!" Tails smiled.

"Well..." Amy said expectantly, walking Sevie over to sit down. "Did you find out?"

Sevie grinned. "Yep, I definately know now."

"I don't really..." Shadow shook his head. He didn't really get the point of this but at least Sevie seemed to be happy.

"I'll wait to tell you though, thats more of a main even don't you think?" Sevie smiled.

"Hm. Fine." Amy sassed.

"Oh, they're here!" Charmy said, buzzing out of the spare room, the Chaotix following.

Sevie smiled. "Well, what is this?"

Vanilla piped up. "I couldn't help myself..." pushing Shadow and Sevie in the direction of the room, they glanced in and saw a half decorated room, a small dresser, and a wooden crib still in peices. Vanilla turned and glared at the Chaotixs. "What, it's not together yet? What have you been... oh, nevermind." She smiled at them. "I thought you might need a few things, so I brought a few of Cream's old furniture."

Sevie smiled. "Oh, that's so nice! Thankyou, Vanilla!"

"Yeah, we've been doing most of the work..." Charmy pouted.

Sevie and Shadow walked back to the living room, where everyone was already going back about their buisiness, talking to one enougher. The entire even was still a bit unnerving to Shadow, who felt a little overwhelmed as he stood in the corner while Sevie smiled opening her gifts. Rouge walked over and stood next to him. "What's wrong, not having fun?" Rouge whispered, still smiling casually.

"Hm." Shadow grumbled.

"It's been taken care of," Rouge said softly. "We've dealt with it."

"I assume you let her go then?" Shadow whispered.

Rouge's casual smile waned a little. "No, not really. I'll explain later just try to enjoy yourself. And can it be so much to ask for you to smile?"

"Hmph." Shadow dismissed her, but offered a small smirk.

Sevie smiled as she saw Amy swoop around. "The aniticipation is killing me!" She said. "I tried to get gender nuetral as best as I could, but you know and I don't and it's driving me crazy! Is it a boy? A girl?"

Sevie smiled brightly. "Yes."

Amy paused. "... uh, but which is it? A boy or a girl?"

"Yes." Sevie knodded with a laugh.

"She's playing with you," Blaze said lightly with a smirk.

Amy pouted, then her eyes lit up in realisation. "Wait... do you mean your having twins?!"

Sevie knodded with a smile. "Yes!"

The room became elated with conversation. Rouge nudged Shadow and smirked before flying away. "Congradulations."

"Oh, no fair! I could have totally done a better job if I knew." Amy said, pouting.

"Well we just found out earlier," Sevie smiled.

"It's still hard to beleive Shadow of all people is having kid!" Sonic said, laughing.

"Going to have to make more room then, want me to add another room to the house?" Tails asked.

Sevie's eyes widened. "You can do that?"

The conversation got lively and Shadow managed to slip away to the back porch. He sat down in the back yard's grass and looked up to the night sky, the ever cresent moon glowing in the sky.
