Tyvral
The air was filled with the soft beeping of the heart monitor, the whirling of the medical droids, and the hubbub of chatter. Tyvral sat in a metal chair which shone brightly under the bright white lights of the medical suite. Many clones laid on the beds, most had been hurt by explosions, whilst a few had been clipped by a blaster bolt. Tyvral's clawed hand held the hand of Commander Kart who laid unconscious.
"I'm so sorry Commander," said Tyvral hanging his head.
The door to the medical suite opened and a clone walked over to Tyvral. "Uh, sir?"
Tyvral looked up the clone, "Yes trooper?"
"The General sent for you, sir, he said you should report to the training room at once," said the clone.
Tyvral nodded to himself, "Which one, and where?"
"Well uh both I suppose, General Gal gave the order but General Devro was there as well, so was another two Jedi," said the trooper.
"Two other Jedi," muttered Tyvral under his breath. He stood up when a raspy voice came from the bed. "Hey kid," rasped Kart.
"Commander!" exclaimed Tyvral looking over the Commander.
"Nice to see you kid," rasped Kart a smirk on his face.
Tears welled up in Tyvral's eyes, "Why did you jump in front of the flamethrower?"
Kart chuckled, "Just habit I suppose, do you know how I got the name Kart?"
Tyvral sat back down, "No I don't".
Kart chuckled again before coughing. Once the cough passed the smirk returned to his face, "It was the first combat drill, and I was happy as could be. Soon as the command was given I broke formation and dashed straight towards the first droid I saw. Still hold the record for most times shot and quickest out far as I know," chuckled Kart.
"That's horrible, but how does your name come in?" Tyvral asked.
"Because the bounty hunter just shouted over the intercom: somebody cart this mess out of here. I spent a few days in the infirmary but I hadn't been wounded since. Ah well it was worth it," said Kart.
"I got beat, we blew it. And how was spending a few days in infirmary worth it?" asked Tyvral.
Kart chuckled, "It taught me to slow down and watch things, that's why I'm so good at strategy. Finished third among my command class," he said proudly.
Tyvral shook his head, "Who finished first?"
Kart chuckled, "Commander Bacara finished first, and Commander Cody finished second".
"Huh, never heard of them," said Tyvral.
"They may be dead for all I know," he said with a shrug, "Though I do know that you need to get to the general, so get going and I'll see you soon," he said holding up his hand.
Tyvral clasped it and Kart nodded to him. Kart let go of his hand shifted in the cot, "Now get going kid, a soldier should always be on time".
"I'll see you soon Commander," said Tyvral and he walked out.
Tyvral arrived at the training room of the star destroyer. It was barren with the exception of three figures who stood in the center. Shargo, Dev, Master Windu, and forth figure that seemed vaguely familiar.
"Masters," said Tyvral with a bow, his padawan braid brushing against his ear.
"You're late," said Master Windu with narrowed eyes.
An awkward silence fell over them, which was broken by the familiar figure. The fourth Jedi walked forward, she was a Togruta with a padawan braid dangling from between her leeku. "Hi, I'm Ashoka," she said holding out her hand.
Tyvral grasped her hand and shook it firmly, "Tyvral".
"Padawan Tano will be here for your next mission, I will be here for a few rotations," said Master Windu.
"We're pretty far out for a special trip aren't we," said Dev.
Master Windu narrowed his eyes, "I came here to inspect personally why there was such a failure on Abrion. Though I have preparations to make for the Ryloth campaign, so I shall not be here long. Padawan Tano is here as part of our rotation program. A Master can send their Padawan to learn under another master briefly, it gives the master a respite and the Padawan a chance to learn from someone new".
Shargo stood up to his full height, his crest it's regular green with small blossoms of yellow. "Well, we have the two finest duelists in the order. So who better to judge these apprentices?!"
"This oughta be good," muttered Dev.
Windu smirked, "I hope to be impressed".
"Use training sabers," said Shargo.
Tyvral and Ashoka nodded, both retrieved training sabers which were on the wall along with other training equipment. The masters stood off to the side yielding the floor to the apprentices.
Ashoka activated her training lightsaber and held it backhanded.
Tyvral activated his two training lightsabers.
"Begin," proclaimed Windu.
Ashoka darted forward and slashed at Tyvral. Tyvral hopped backwards and stabbed forward with both lightsabers. Ashoka knocked away the sabers and lunged forward with a stab at Tyvral. Tyvral parried the stab with one lightsaber and swung the other one upwards at Ashoka's jaw. Ashoka stumbled back the saber missing her by inches. Tyvral lunged forward and swung one of his lightsabers in a massive arch. Ashoka raised her lightsaber and blocked the blow.
She gritted her teeth as her knees and arms buckled under the force of the blow. Tyvral's other lightsaber darted forward like a snake towards her unprotected torso. Ashoka's hand shot out and Tyvral flew across the room.
He slammed against the wall and groaned as he stood up. The lightsabers flew from the floor and into his hands. "Ready to give up?"
Ashoka scoffed, "In your dreams".
Tyvral sprinted at Ashoka who took a defensive stance in preparation for the oncoming attack. Tyvral force pushed Ashoka with one hand and force pulled her with the other. Ashoka's feet slid as if they were on ice and her vision was clouded. Tyvral swatted Ashoka's wrist with a lightsaber and her lightsaber clattered to the ground. Tyvral raised both lightsabers and swung them down in a mighty arc. Ashoka instinctively threw her hands in front of her face. Her body was tensed in fear of the hit, and her eyes shut. There was no sound but a low buzzing. Ashoka slowly opened her eyes and saw the lightsabers a few inches from her.
Tyvral gave her a smirk, "Don't worry I know what I'm doing". He deactivated the training lightsabers and put them back on the weapon rack.
"Well done, both of you," said Master Windu. "Though PadawanSacrm, " he said addressing Tyvral, "You have two lightsabers you need to remember to keep one up for guarding, not just hold it. Padawan Tano you need to parry more than just block, that goes for you as well".
"Padawan Tano you should attack more, and Tyvral your over committing on your attacks, do that to much and you'll find yourself with a few holes, " said Dev.
"Could you teach her how to hold a lightsaber master?" asked Tyvral.
Ashoka, who had just put her training lightsaber back punched Tyvral's shoulder.
"There are a great variety of techniques, for instance, I prefer to use one lightsaber while you obviously prefer two," said Master Windu.
"Listen well, Master Windu is a master of all seven forms of lightsaber fighting," said Shargo.
"How many do you know?" asked Ashoka.
"A few, though I am not much of a fighter," said Shargo.
"What about you Dev?" Tyvral asked.
"I've mastered forms one through six, form seven is forbidden to all but Master Windu," said Dev.
"What's the seventh form?" asked Ashoka.
Master Windu and Dev began talking at the same time, but it was Shargo's voice who cut through the chatter. "Perhaps a demonstration would work best".
A boyish grin broke across Dev's face, "Up for it Windu?"
"Very well," said Master Windu.
The two took the spots that been previously occupied by the two padawans. Both opted to use their actual lightsabers rather than the training lightsabers. Master Windu activated his purple lightsaber whilst Dev activated his blue lightsaber.
Master Windu dashed forward and spun in the air. His lightsaber swung through the air and towards Dev. Dev jumped back and Windu's lightsaber struck the floor. Both attacked and their lightsabers struck each other. They pushed against each other briefly. Windu kicked Dev who stumbled backwards. Windu stabbed at Dev who knocked the stab aside and began a barrage of attacks. The lightsabers moved to fast for the eyes to follow with both attacking, blocking, and countering. Attack, counter, block, a continuous cycle of the two sabers and those wielding them.
Dev arced his lightsaber at Windu. Windu raised his lightsaber for the block.
"He's doing it," whispered Tyvral.
"Doing what?" whispered Ashoka.
Dev's actions spoke faster than Tyvral could. As Dev's lightsaber descended he deactivated it. As soon as his lightsaber was below Mater Windu's guard he activated it.
Master Windu spun and leapt at Dev, who barely blocked Master Windu's stab. Dev jumped back then leapt at Windu. They quickly exchanged blows then Dev tossed his saber to his left hand. He stabbed at Windu who force pushed him. Dev hit the wall and shook himself. Windu threw his lightsaber which took off like a missile towards Dev. It struck the wall beside Dev who lunged at the lightsaberless Windu. Windu held out his hands. Dev began to run like he was underwater, and Windu's lightsaber tore out of the wall and towards Dev. Dev was almost at Windu when Windu's lightsaber stopped a breath away from Dev.
Dev froze and began to laugh, "You got me again". Dev deactivated his lightsaber.
Windu's lightsaber deactivated then flew into his hand, "You fought well, though you overplayed your hand at the end".
Dev nodded, "Yep, I thought that the switch would get you".
Windu laughed, "it almost did".
Dev looked at the two padawans who were standing in awe of the skill displayed. "So either of you up for some practice, heck I'll take one and you take one Mace".
"Fine with me," said Windu.
Tyvral and Ashoka both blanched and took a step back. "Um, I have some, uh, meditating to do," said Tyvral.
"I think I do too," said Ashoka.
Windu chuckled, "Very well".
Both padawans sighed in relief and began moving towards the door, "Not so fast," said Shargo's deep voice.
The padawans froze midstep and turned to face the giant master, "Yes master?" asked Tyvral.
"There are some exercises that I'd like both of you to do," he said with a mischievous smile and yellow blossoming across his crest.
Both padawans sighed and walked their slouched over forms to Shargo.
"This oughta be good," chuckled Dev.
