TO WAR OR NOT TO WAR
ROBB
When news came of his Father's arrest Robb wanted to call the banners. "If you call the banners My Lord…House Tully will support you, maybe House Arryn as well. Lord Arryn is being held in King's Landing as well." Luwin says offering his advise.
"Stannis already has over one hundred thousand troops in King's Landing." Lady Catelyn says.
"We look weak if we do nothing." Robb replies.
"Who will stand with Stannis? House Tyrell…"
"No one will stand with Stannis!" Jon says entering the main hall.
"You! You should turn yourself over!" Catelyn yells running at him, but Robb holds his mother.
"Stannis will not harm my Uncle. And believe me when I say Lady Stark that I would rather die than see any harm come to him."
"Actions speak louder than words." She replies crying.
"Come with me I have something to show you all." He leads them to the godswood, where his Dragon Rhaegal is waiting. "Stay here." He tells them and walks up to the black Dragon. He speaks to it in Valyrian. "You can approach now."
"By the gods a Dragon." Maester Luwin says.
The Dragon is as big as a large dog. "What is his name?" Robb asks.
"Rhaegal after my father Prince Rhaegar."
Later Robb and Jon walk the battlements of Winterfell talking. "You ask me a hard thing." Robb says.
Jon sighs, "I need the North strong and united when the White Walkers come. House Tully will support you and so will House Arryn…Houses Martell, Tyrell, and the Lannisters will stand united against Stannis."
"You're asking me to leave my father's fate in the hands of others."
"If you march south with an army it will start a war…"
"One will start whether I go South or not."
Jon sighs, "How about you gather an army at Moat Cailin and wait." Reluctantly Robb agrees, "When the time comes I want you as my Commander of War."
Robb smiles, "Me? Why me?"
"I have seen your future…You are a leader of men and a Master of War."
BRAN
"Come to me Brandon Stark…" A voice says to Bran in his dreams.
"Where are you?"
"Beyond the wall."
"Why must I come?"
"It is your destiny."
Bran and the other children are disappointed when they wake up in the morning and Jon is gone. "He didn't even say goodbye." Arya says a little angry.
"He left you a letter." Maester Luwin says handing each child their letter.
Bran skips his lessons and heads to the Solar where Robb and their mother are going over Castle business. "Bran, why aren't you at your lessons with Maester Luwin?" Robb asks.
He stares at them, "Bran?"
"Jon is my cousin isn't he?"
Robb and Cat look at each other. "Who told you that?"
"I saw my Aunt Lyanna marry Prince Rhaegar in my dreams. Actually I saw a Dire Wolf the sigil of our House mate with a three headed red Dragon. The sigil of House Targaryen. Didn't take me long to interpret the dream."
"Bran you can't tell anyone about this."
"The crowned Stag already knows, that's why he had father placed in the Dungeons."
DAENARYS
After leaving Valyria she sets sail for Astapor to buy the Unsullied and take the city. Daenarys hates Slavery and she is determined to rid the land of it and build an Empire in the East. The Journey to Astapor takes two weeks and when she arrives Daenarys buys a mansion in the city. She keeps her Dragon on the ship and goes ashore with Ser Barristan and five guards.
Dany is met by Varys, "Princess as promised I found him. Ser Jorah Mormont Princess Daenarys Targaryen."
He drops to one knee, "Princess…I Ser Jorah Mormont vow to serve you with my sword, council and life."
"I accept your service Ser Knight…You may rise."
"Tell me about this Kraznys." She asks as they leave the docks.
"He is rich and powerful. The head of the Council of Good Masters and extremely arrogant."
They meet at the training grounds where a hundred Unsullied stand at attention. "Tell your Master I would like to purchase all eight thousand Unsullied and you as well." She says after inspecting the troops. It takes a few days to unload the gold and on that day all eight thousand troops are assembled for her to buy. Kraznys hands her the whip and then she commands the Unsullied to slay the Masters, free the slaves, and spare the commoners, families, women, and children.
With the city under her control Daenarys makes slavery illegal. She has Ser Jorah train men to be the local militia and build up the city's defenses. After six months of preparations Daenarys is comfortable leaving the city in the hands of the Council of Elders who will rule in her name. She marches her army out of the city and heads for Yunkai. The man destined to be her lover, husband, and King awaits her. She had seen a future with Khal Drogo and one with Daario, the future she chose is with Daario Naharis.
After three weeks of marching the army arrives at Yunkai. They are met by Razdal mo Eraz and then by the Commanders of the Second Sons. Daario is everything she saw in flames and there is an immediate attraction between the two. As she foresaw Darrio kills the other two commanders and swears fealty to her. Daario, Grey Worm, and Ser Jorah sneak into the city, kill the gate guards and opens the city to Dany's army.
She stands on the balcony as Daario climbs up to her. "What took you so long?"
He smiles, "You knew I would come."
"Even before you did. You want me and I have chosen you." They start kissing and taking off their clothes. "I've never been with a man before."
"Neither have I." She slaps him and they start making love again. Later Daenarys speaks with Jon and Tyrion through the flames.
"Robert is dead and Stannis is King." Jon says.
"Your brother?" She asks Tyrion.
"Safe and sound in Braavos…"
"We cannot allow Stannis Witch to return to Dragonstone…She will kill three of Robert's bastards and use them to make stone Dragons into flesh and blood…" Jon says.
"If I do this…My Uncle's life is at risk along with your Uncle."
"Aren't the Gold Cloaks on your payroll?" Jon asks.
"They are…Still something can go wrong."
He sighs, "The choice is yours Tyrion."
TYRION
He breaks the link and summons the Admiral of his fleet, "You summoned me M'Lord?"
"Lord Orwell I did. Prepare my fleet we sail on King's Landing…"
"We M'Lord?"
"Yes I am coming as well."
A hundred metal steel ships set sail from Lannisport. All the men and crews of the ships are loyal to Tyrion. The deadliest Fleet in the world sails around the southern coast. The metal steam ships make the trip in two weeks. They completely destroy any Baratheon scout ships on the sea. When they reach Dragonstone Tyrion leaves twenty ships guarding the waters around the ancient Island Fortress and the rest attacks Stannis fleet in the which fills Blackwater Bay.
The Metal steam ships use metal gears in their tribuchets, and scorpions, giving them more power when they fire. Two well placed shots and ship sinks. Tyrion's ships can also ram and smash through Stannis' ships. Some are unoccupied as the crews had gone ashore to stretch their legs or be with a woman.
STANNIS
He is awakened to the sound of ringing bells. "What is happening?" He asks his Squire.
"Your Grace the fleet is under attack."
He gets dressed and makes his way to the battlements. Ser Davos and Ser Florent are already there."
"Metal Steam ships My King…" Davos says handing him a spyglass.
"The Lannisters."
"Secure the Prisoners." Stannis commands.
Inside the Red Keep the Gold Cloaks attack the Baratheon men to save Eddard Stark, Jon Arryn, Mace Tyrell, Theon Greyjoy, Tygett Lannister, and Hoster Tully. They sneak the man out through a secret passage that leads to a small side port. A row boat takes them to the Joanna where Lord Tyrion is waiting.
"My Lords welcome aboard the Joanna."
"Tyrion."
"Uncle its good to see you."
"My Lord the Gold Cloaks have turned on us…They freed the Lords."
The next day Stannis meets with his councilors, "How many ships do we have left?"
"Three hundred and seven and a scout ship says there is a fleet of twenty metal steam ships surrounding Dragonstone." Davos replies. "The rest of the fleet has sailed back west."
"Wild Fire is the key." Melisandre says, "The Mad King still has tons of it stored in different places under the city…We load our ships with it and attack the fleet guarding Dragomstone."
"Those ships are too fast and maneuverable, they can smash through any ship we have. I say with well-timed shots we destroy maybe three out of the twenty ships. It will not be worth it."
"All we need to do is get one ship to Dragonstone." Melisandre replies. "Then after the ritual all will bend the knee or burn."
