It was September 1st yet again. This time the start of my 6th year. I was so excited, although I wasn't so thrilled at the aspect of seeing Potter again. I had officially forgiven him, but that was by letter. I hadn't actually seen him in the flesh since the last day of term.

I went down stairs to eat breakfast then Mum, Dad, Ron and I headed to Kings Cross station. It was only us this year as Fred and George had finished up the previous year and had now opened a Joke Shop called Weasley's Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley.

When we arrived there for what would have to be the first time, we were 20 minutes early. Potter hadn't arrived yet much to my delight, so Ron and I grabbed our usual compartment and waited for Hermione and Potter to arrive. Ron was probably more anxious than me, he had asked Hermione out to Hogsmeade for the first time. They had been pretty chummy for a while, since the Yule Ball in fact but neither of them had actually made it official. Ron and I sat in silence for a few minutes, then there was a tap on the compartment door. We looked up and I stiffned. It was Potter.

He walked in and sat down next to Ron.

"Hey Ginny, how were your Holidays." He said in a genuinely nice way. I kept on staring at him, not only was he being nice but he actually looked hot. Over the summer he seemed to have filled out, he was at least 15cm taller, his arms were toned and his hair. I never did notice how hot it looked before. No Ginny. Potter is not Hot. He is quite the opposite. A fugly, annoying teenager.

"Uh Ginny? Prefects carriage" I was pulled from my daze.

"What?" "I said, not fully realising what he had said

"You have a Prefects meeting in the Prefects carriage. Hermione is already there." He repeated. I nodded then left, I had to get out of there. How long had I been staring at him?

Thirty minutes later after our Prefects meeting, Hermione and I headed back to the compartment.

"Mione, can I talk to you for a second before we head in there." I said just before she opened the door.

"Sure. Is it about Harry," she said smirking.

"No..." I replied not making eye contact. I pulled her into the nearest empty compartment.

"Spill Ginnyyy!" Hermione squealed. "Do you like Harry now or what?"

I glared at Hermione warningly. "No Mione, I do not fancy him at all. Why would you even suspect that."

"Um, because you pulled me in here, obviously."

"I don't, now drop it. Let's go back."

"Fine." Hermione said holding her hands up in defeat. We headed back to the compartment to find Ron and Harry playing exploding snap. For the rest of the train ride it was rather uneventful, in other words I spent the whole time goggling over Potter. I hope no one noticed, but how could they Ron and Hermione were flirting with each other and Potter was reading a book. Now that I think about it, that sounds a little suspicious.

The four of us left the compartment once the train had pulled into the station, well Ron and Hermione left and got into a carriage together leaving me with Potter. God I hate them sometimes.

"So Ginny, I saw you checking me out any reason why?" Potter smirked. I groaned, I new him reading was to good to be true.

"So what if I was checking you out Potter, it doesn't mean I like you. It means quite the opposite in fact. I was staring at you because I hate you." I didn't look him in the eye.

"Sure, Weasley. I know you and I know exactly when you're lying"

"So what if I was telling the truth! I still don't like you, your still that lazy, arrogant prat. There is know way I am ever dating you until you deflate your head."

"OK, OK Weasley I understand what your getting at. You just love my hair and my muscles but won't take like me for me until I improve my personality. Guess what, I half agree with you. Although I'm never going to stop my joking around."

"Okay. Let's just get in a carriage and get up there." I said, Potter smirked. Urghhhhhh... I hate that smirk it makes him look so hot. No GINNY. Potter does not look hot. Remember he is a fugly teenager. Neither of us spoke a word the whole way up to the castle, although I'm pretty sure Potter wanted to say something, he just didn't know what. I was glaring daggers at him.

We walked into the great hall and Potter didn't stop to sit down next to Ron and Hermione, he kept on walking then sat down in an empty seat between two random 4th years. I was confused did I say something. I sat down next to Ron and Hermione and they immediately started asking questions.

"What happened Ginny? He's never done that before." Hermione said looking down the table at Potter. He was playing with his fork.

"I didn't do anything Hermione, he just said a whole lot of things that I didn't disagree with and maybe it made him upset I don't know. It's not like He asked me out and I rejected him because he didn't. He just made assumptions as to why I was staring at him, and I said he was a lazy arrogant prat." Hermione shook her head.

"Don't you see Ginny, this is why he is upset. He wants you to accept him for who he is. He can't change to be the person you dream about. I think you staring at him may have gave him false hope though, and that's why he is this dopey."

"Listen Gin." Ron said, "You should give him a chance, he really isn't that bad. He acts really tough and stupid on the outside but on the inside he is this loyal, compassionate guy who will care about you no matter what. Look at him now for example" Ron pointed down the table. "He's all mopey because the girl he loves won't even give him a chance. Look Gin, you forgave him the least you could do is to get to know him. He really isn't a bad guy."

"He doesn't love me Ron."

"Are you sure about that Ginny. He talks to me everyday about you, how you brighten his day. He loves you for you, he just wishes that you could do the same back. This time I think it just hit him hard. Just give him a chance."

"Fine." I got up and walked along the table towards Potter, I sat down in the empty seat next to him.

"Ummmm... Look Potter, I mean Harry. What ever I did I am really sorry. I now understand what you wanted, a second chance. Can we just scrap what ever happened today and start over again. I want to like you Harry. I want you to know that."

Harry looked at me. "You really hurt me Ginny. This time it really hurt, I thought I was forgiven."

"And you are forgiven Harry. Let's just start over. Friends?" I held out my hand. Harry smiled and took it. It didn't appear to be a genuine smile, but we'll work on that.
