Role Call: Buzz Lightyear

It was a fine day to be out on the zero-gravity tennis courts - weather was pleasant and the sun was shining. And two players were taking full advantage of it in a fun and relaxing game.

"Hey, come on, Lightyear! Keep it up! You're slippin'!"

"Slippin'? No way! I'm just getting warmed up! Eat that, Crockett!" One powerful swing from his racket, and the tennis ball flew over the net currently held up by two drones.

The two of them floated on their hover pads as they flew back and forth on their sides of the net. The duel between the two friends, composed of battered balls and fast moves, continued well into the late afternoon. The score was tied very closely and it seemed as though neither one was going to concede to the opponent so easily.

And both realized it too. So they decided they would finish their battle with one final round and whoever lost would buy the other food. And complete some homework for them. The stakes were set.

The round started off fast - shots ricocheted back and forth and so loudly that a other few tennis players couldn't help but stop and watch with fascination for a moment at the event unfolding between the two of them. The determination and fire in both grew in intensity.

But one's flame would be doused by a single act of distraction.

Buzz suddenly stopped. His eyes detected an unusual condition in a nearby court.

The ball flew past his face and hit the ground below.

"YES! Victory is mine! How about you eat that, Lightyear?!" Rocket answered back smugly. But he was taken aback when he saw Buzz wasn't even looking at him. "Lightyear? Lightyear? Helloooo! Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, please come in!"

When Rocket looked in the direction Buzz's gaze was steered in, he smirked. "Uh-oh... he's got it bad. He's in love!"

A beautiful red-haired woman was unaware of Buzz as she kept her eye on the players she was instructing.
