Another long chapter? Darn... Well, A ton happens in this one so that's probably why. It might actually be updated tomorrow for a scene I forgot to include, but this is the first version.
If you have any questions or are confused about what's happening just pm me, as long as its spoiler-free I'll happily answer any questions.
IDK about you but I love Addertail and Stonepelt, Sandfur not so much. Whiteheart might come back later but I really don't know why she exists in the first place...

"Where were you?" questioned Stonepelt, who had been waiting for Nightstorm's return at the entrance to camp, "You know you can't be sneaking out at this time!"
"Er… I was just doing some hunting," lied Nightstorm nervously, "but I didn't have any luck."
Nightstorm knew this was an awful excuse. He didn't have any prey and this was the second time Stonepelt caught him sneaking out with his scent covered in catmint.
"I know you're not a part of whatever these murders are," said Stonepelt, "but you're going to make your Clanmates suspicious of you, they already have good reason to be."
Nightstorm nodded slowly. He was relieved that Stonepelt was saving him from being caught sneaking out at night, but he still felt uneasy knowing Stonepelt's father was responsible for Lonelymist's current state. Stonepelt sighed and padded to the warriors den quickly, disappearing into it.
Nightstorm headed towards the same location when he bumped into Mintbreeze. "Did you find anything?" she asked, as excited as ever, "We already figured out who was Lonelymist's attacker, so why sneak out anymore."
Nightstorm hesitated. "I thought I could find something important in the caverns…" he trailed off.
Mintbreeze sighed in irritation. "I told you nothing good would come from that. What happened?"
"A cat was down there, covered in mud," said Nightstorm, "They claimed they were with StarClan, but I've heard stories before and StarClan cats don't look like that."
Mintbreeze shook her head. "Don't you think StarClan appears differently to separate cats?"
Nightstorm shrugged. "I had a weird feeling about them. He said he knew about my visions with Snowkit…"
Mintbreeze tilted her head. "Why are you having visions about Snowkit?"
"I don't know," meowed Nightstorm, "I had forgotten about her until just recently, I hardly even remember what happened that day."
"Well I do," spoke Mintbreeze, "and nothing happening right now should relate to that… incident... Anyways, if that cat knew you were having visions about Snowkit then he must be a StarClan cat, there's no other way!"
Nightstorm knew this might be the case. "Why would he be all weird if he was a StarClan cat?" he wondered.
"Maybe they are more like us than you think… maybe we can't even tell them apart from real cats." Mintbreeze suggested darkly.
Nightstorm felt this was unlikely. "I doubt it… StarClan is mysterious, but why would they do
that?"
"What if those are the imposters the group of cats warned of…" said Mintbreeze, "what if ghosts are trying to take over the Clans!"
"We should tell Yellowstar about this," meowed Nightstorm.
Mintbreeze shook her head. "She might be part of it as well. You saw how secretive she was being with Stonepelt and Sandfur, they might be a part of it too."
Nightstorm gasped in horror. "Do you really think so?"
"I think we can trust Addertail, he seems to be against all the other cats in FireClan. Otherwise, I don't think any other cat is to be trusted."
Nightstorm slowly nodded. "Stonepelt isn't with them… I know that for a fact. He doesn't suspect
me anymore, I dont think he ever did."
Mintbreeze seemed confused. "Oaktail was his father, and clearly he was a ghost, so maybe Stonepelt is as well?"
"No, he's not. I know it."
"Mom please!"
Nightkit struggled as he was carried by the scruff and roughly placed onto the dusty ground by Skyflower. "I always knew you were trouble Nightkit!" she roared, "You could've gotten your sister killed! Think of what might've happened!"
Nightkit whimpered on the ground. "I'm sorry…" he whispered.
Skyflower didn't change her gaze. "Sorry isn't good enough. I don't want to see you eating anything for the next day, understand?"
Nightkit felt his heart sink. "But I can't survive off of that!" he protested.
"You'll make it through, and hopefully now you'll have learnt a lesson," said Skyflower, now leaning into Nightkit's ear, "Don't tell any cat about this, or your punishment will be worse."
Nightkit hung his head down. Skyflower padded away to go talk to the brown tom he couldn't remember the name of. The brown tom looked surprised and glanced over at Nightkit with a worried expression. Skyflower told the brown tom something and he turned around instantly.
Nightkit sighed. Skyflower began going around the camp rumoring to the other warriors, who shot confused expressions at Nightkit. He felt his pelt go hot and he ran into the nursery. He got a view of Snowkit talking to Skyflower before the snow white kit looked back at him with concern. You are a fox-heart, Snowkit.
Nightstorm woke up in his nest. It was dawn and a few flakes of frost had already settled outside as far as Nightstorm could see. He was disturbed by all of the awful memories he had forgotten about that were now resurfacing to torment him. I moved on… I moved on… I moved on…
"Are you alright?"
Nightstorm jumped in surprise and realized Sandfur was lying down next to him, him not noticing when he dozed off to sleep the night before. He had repeated the same phrase a few times under his breath. "Did you have another nightmare?" the tan pelted she-cat asked.
"I just remembered something about Skyflower," he murmured.
"She was your mother, right? You never mentioned her after…" she trailed off.
"She was," answered Nightstorm sternly.
. "I know she was harsh on you Nightstorm, and I am sorry about that, but she's gone now."
She's just trying to trick you again. Nightstorm turned his head to the entrance and walked outside into the cool morning breeze, cold dirt beneath his paws. He waved his tail in greeting to Mintbreeze, and padded to where Addertail was sitting. "Anything new?" asked Addertail, who was focusing on a piece of prey beneath him.
"I remembered an old memory, but otherwise, no," responded Nightstorm.
Addertail sighed. "Yellowstar is about to launch an attack against the 'mysterious murder group of cat', and I think they are trying to help us from the real enemy, Yellowstar.
Nightstorm wasn't sure. "These cats literally murdered mutlitpule Clan cats, they can't be good."
Addertail shrugged. "All they say is there are imposters in the Clans. I think Yellowstar and a few others are imposters, and I think StarClan is speaking through you."
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around for a Clan meeting." echoed Yellowstar across the clearing.
"Go Nightstorm, reveal the truth to your Clanmates. They would never believe a cat like me," said Addertail.
Nightstorm froze. I don't want to do that, it's against our code! "If they don't find out about what's really going on, and what Yellowstar is hiding, then your friends will be in danger!" urged Addertail.
Nightstorm sighed. He's right.
Clanmates like Willowtail, Fernbreeze, Cloudedstorm and Firepelt gathered. Nightstorm couldn't count all of the different Clanmates that we're in the crowd, eagerly awaiting for Yellowstar to speak. "Today is an important day that will forever be held in memory," her clear voice rang out across the camp clearing, "Today we fight back against the threat that holds our fellow Clans afraid, hiding in the shadows. Today we no longer subject ourselves to the evil that this group of cats has brought upon FireClan. Today we may lose some lives, but tomorrow we will have saved more."
The cats of FireClan yowled in agreement. They should know about the mud-cat… Nightstorm remembered what Mintbreeze warned him of. If they want to eliminate the rest of the live cats then I must stop them.
Nightstorm took a deep breath, then ran in front of the group of cats. "Get out of here," roared Yellowstar to Nightstorm, "remember your place Nightstorm!"
Nightstorm dug his claws into the ground. "No, you need to hear me."
Addertail pushed his way through the crowd. "As a medicine cat I agree, let Nightstorm speak."
Some warriors in the crowd protested. "Addertail is crazy!" or "Don't let him speak, he only spouts nonsense!"
Yellowstar sighed, and then nodded in agreement. "Make it quick, Nightstorm.
"The imposters the murderers speak of," said Nightstorm, "they must be ghosts, hidden among us. I met one in the caves last night, and I think the group of cats are trying to protect the Clans. I can't be sure, but it's a theory."
Yowls of protest instantly rang out in the crowd. "You must be a part of them!" or "That's ridiculous."
"It's not like we haven't heard this before," Addertail's voice rang through the crowd, making it fall silent, "remember, the others had something similar happen a long time ago when their leader was taken over by some other cat."
A few murmurs of agreement went through the crowd, but most of them were still unsure. Yellowstar was now ready to speak again. "That is a ridiculous Nightstorm, you too Addertail," she scoffed, "I know I should listen to a medicine cat, but you act like a kit, still believing in tall tales."
"But more importantly, Nightstorm," she turned her head to him, her green eyes burning into his orange eyes, "you need to let go of Addertail, he can't help you, he's just using you."
Addertail shook his head. "You know that FireClan oppresses cats like him, and you know he is rather smart for a young warrior. You know that you've been hiding things from him on purpose, why don't you tell him about that now?"
Yellowstar took a step back, making Nightstorm suspicious of her. What do you don't want me to know? The gathered FireClan cats gasped at the claim that Yellowstar had been lying to them. Addertail smirked. "Tell them…" he urged.
The cats gathered around cleary knew Yellowstar had been hiding something, all eyes were on her.
Yellowstar hesitated before speaking. "We… we… we put poppy seeds in his prey so he wouldn't have his 'visions', to not encourage Addertail…"
The Clan gasped in shock, murmurs of anger coming from the crowd. Nightstorm now shook with anger of his own. Addertail was always right, Yellowstar was lying to me. "You see!" echoed Addertail to the group of cats, "She has lied to you this entire time, she has been trying to keep StarClan from revealing to us the imposters!"
Addertail stepped to where Yellowstar had run away from, disappearing into the woods, Addertail now beside Nightstorm. "I have always seen how FireClan has oppressed us, how they have deemed StarClan merely 'Tall Tales'. Today, my clanmates, we must eliminate the imposters before it is too late, they might have already taken over our Clan."
A small bunch of cats stepped up from the crowd and sat in front of Addertail. Cleary, he had more friends besides Nightstorm.
A group of senior warriors bristled their fur at the uprising. "Even if Yellowstar lied to us, she is still our leader, you are a medicine cat." one growled.
"I don't see Yellowstar anywhere, do I? She has left you, she has left us in our time of need, she is probably getting the help of the other Clans to help eliminate the only living cats that are left. We need more warriors like you who can help us bring peace to the Clans." echoed Addertail.
Nightstorm nodded. "He's right. Yellowstar must be planning an attack on us with her allies, we have to fight for our Clan."
The Senior warriors backed down at the immense amount of cats joining together, yowling in agreement. "Save the Clans!"
Nightstorm never felt so great in his life. He was finally agreeing with his leader, or, new leader. He knew it would be a tough fight against the other Clans, but they had to fight against the imposters.
Addertail continued speaking. "Since Yellowstar is now gone, I will instate myself as a leader, but while still being a medicine cat. My deputy will be Nightstorm, since StarClan is speaking through him about the imposters."
Nightstorm didn't like that he was a deputy without an apprentice but took the position anyway. "Nightstorm, Nightstorm, Nightstorm!" the clan cats shouted as loud as they could.
"Clanmates!" yowled Addertail, silencing the crowd, "We must start getting rid of the imposters right away, they could kill us all if we don't act soon."
The cats all yowled in agreement. "Fight the imposters!" yowled one.
Nightstorm was happy they were going to finish this once and for all. "I don't know who was an imposter from my visions," explained Nightstorm to Addertail.
Addertail nodded. "I can explain what they mean Nightstorm, I have been keeping track of everyone. I already know the obvious first imposter... Stonepelt."
I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE FOR THAT CLIFFHANGER... I'm SORRY BUT I HAD TO!
also, Snowkit freaking sucks, at least in my opinion. How do you like Snowkit so far? Also Skyflower sucks, also Yellowstar sucks, also EVERYBODY SUCKS EXCEPT FOR ADDERTAIL AND STONEPELT
Its currently 4am when I'm writing this so I'm a little crazy. I hope you enjoyed, and your reviews no matter how simple, they srsly really make me happy.
Chapter Purpose (spoiler-free)
A beta reader said my story was essentially all build up and no pay off so I decided to use some pay off I already had built up but I still have like 10 different things built up so its not near the end of the story.
I also think its funny how Nightstorm just straight up ignores Sandfur, like, dude, she's obviously into you.
