Leo's POV: The thirty-two hours I drove the RV, weren't that memorable. Travis got a wedgie, and the gang watched brave (seriously? What's with Pixar movies and us?) The great news, is that Percy drove all the way to Beliz, so It wouldn't be a far drive to Costa Rica. Unfortunately, the roads weren't exactly in mint condition. That alone cost us about two hours of time, but the traffic was horrible! When we entered Costa Rica the highways were all covered with cars, not as much as New York City, but it was much more than some of the cities I'd been to.
"Are we there yet?" Thalia asked, she was in her bathing suit and ready to hit the beach. The others were dressed similarly, with an assortment of beach clothes and bathing suits. The only one not dressed in a suit was Annabeth.
"Guys, I've told you countless times. If you want to go surfing in this country pick another beach, pretty much any other beach! Punta Arenas is not famous for great surfing waves!" Annabeth stated, for the millionth time. However, she looked like she was ready to catch some crabs, because she had a cookbook out and was studying it for hours, determined to make a decent meal.
"There will be great surfing waves when I'm there, wisegirl." Percy told her, smiling and picking up his board.
"I hope so, because I want to surf!" Piper said in excitement.
"Umm, how about we go bungee jumping instead?" Jason asked.
"NO!" We all answered, Thalia a bit louder than anyone.
"Hey guys! I think Uncle Leo found a shortcut!" I said, looking at a natural path. I started driving torwards it, hoping it really was a path. Well, It's time to test my luck!
It was not a shortcut. Instead, it took us thirty miles in the wrong direction, to a very nice viewing point of the beach, the only problem was that the beach was about two thousand feet below us. We went back on the road, and got to a hotel at about nine PM. We all wanted to have a sort of normal tourist experience here, so we checked in. The lady at the reception gave us all bracelets so everyone knew we belonged here. The hotel had an other name, but everyone called it 'Hotel Fiesta.' That means Hotel Party, which sounded promising. We went into separate rooms. There was four suites for us. I went in mine with Percy, Jason, Nico, and the Stolls. The suite was pretty big, it had a couch, two rooms each with twin beds, a kitchen, and two bathrooms. We turned the couch into a bed for the Stolls, and each got into our own bedrooms. I was with Percy.
"You mind if I turn on the game? It's the Yankees against the Twins." He asked me.
"Sure." I said, falling asleep almost immediately after.
Annabeth's POV: I went in my room, with Hazel, Piper, and Thalia. Katie and Miranda were in a regular room, with two beds. Frank had his own room. While my roommates went to sleep, I organized the place, and put all of our food where it belonged. I was still wide awake when'd I finished, so I went to one of the bathrooms and decided to call Percy. Somehow I knew he was up.
"O goddess accept my offering." I said, throwing a coin into the shower. "Percy Jackson, room 2431." Percy's image appeared, watching a game. "Hi."
"Woah! Hey wisegirl. You're up too?" He asked.
"Yeah, I can't seem to fall asleep. Want to go walking on the beach with me?" I asked him.
"Sure! The games pretty much over and the Yankee's are winning by ten runs."
"Ok, meet me by the fountain." I said, breaking the image. I got myself ready, and got a flashlight and a bucket. The book said that catching crabs here was really hard, but when my mind is set on something I refuse to give up. I went down the elevator and to the fountain. Percy was already there.
"Hey wisegirl!" He greeted me. "Let's go." We walked torward some lights, and then I truly realized how big this hotel was. It had a gigantic pool, and in the middle of it was a fake island with a snack bar. We walked on a wooden bridge, down torwards the beach. We were there for two hours, and despite what the book said, Seaweed brain caught me twelve crabs. I went to bed, excited for tomorrow.
