Please Read- I am sorry. Please forgive me for being too lazy to complete what I started. I have no excuses and the only way to apologize is a NEW CHAPTER! Love you guys
It was obvious that the news was going to reach the public sooner or later and Lucy had been prepared for that. She sighed when Cana smirked next to her, both staring at the Sorcerers Weekly article explaining in detail to its audience what they thought Lucy was doing in Fiore.
They had started with a question, 'Where does Lucy Heartfilia belong now?'
It was rather stupid actually. They wrote about how she had disappeared for months and when she finally came back her first stop was the royal castle. Then how Lucy Heartfilia was seen in Bosco enjoying her new life and Lucy was surprised there were pictures. Her on the beach with Ever. Her, Ever, and Emi going to the club, and the focus point was her outfit which kind of pissed her off. Then Came the Junelle news. The entire high Society was in shambles, different opinions debate whether someone like Lucy should be part of such an elite group and some said that she should because even as a mage Lucy Heartfilia maintained such high connections.
Then came the argument that Lucy should be in Fiore and not Bosco and she very well knew where this was coming from. High Society men took privet trips to Bosco alone, and women were never allowed. So for the greedy men who are going to try to lure her into marriage again would hate that she stayed in that country.
Not that Lucy cared. The only thing she cared about was her 'Market worth' being discussed by everyone.
"I feel like an auction piece all over again." Snapping the magazine shut with a groan Lucy got up and quickly picked up her purse, looking at Cana who was leaning against the wall with a mischievous look in her eyes.
"I can't wait to go to Bosco today and meet everyone, especially your boyfriend." she grinned and Lucy rolled her eyes. "I am sure they are waiting to see you again." Smiling, Lucy offered Cana her hand, and both left her room, Cana quickly grabbing her sling bag on the way out.
Lucy had given her a bag full of clothes and while Cana tried to refuse, the glare Lucy pinned her with was scarier than Mira or Erza's and Cana took the bag from her with a nervous smile. Yesterday when Lucy had to leave to talk to one of her employees Cana had spent some time with Arman and she quickly came to like the man even more.
Arman was, in a way, like Makarov but not perverted, more handsome, and definitely more connecting. He had made small talks about her health and their magic but both bonded over Lucy, actually. Arman had smiled looking at the blonde talking to Jacob and said, "I have never met a more accomplished woman, other than my wife, of course." he laughed a bit and Cana grinned.
"Yeah, Lucy is...something else." She smiled proudly at her friend, continuing, "She is stronger than people give her credit for and I am not talking about her magic." The meaning behind her words was clear for both of them and Arman hmmed.
"How was she back at Fairy Tail?" he suddenly asked and Cana turned to look at him, searching something on his face and nibbled on her lip for a few seconds, then replied,
"Lucy...had a hard time getting used to what people thought about her. I mean she had just joined the guild when Phantom Lord happened and then the thing with Laxus, Oracion saints, so people called her trouble magnet a lot and that bothered her a lot. Then there was the money thing, missions and working so hard to keep a roof on top of her head. But Lucy was also someone everyone liked...despite how they behaved with her." The last part Cana literally spat, glaring at the coffee table.
"She is the smartest in the guild, smarter than Levy, Freed, hell even Master. She was...a lot aggressive at that place and..." Cana mused over her words for a second before she looked back at Arman and smiled a sad smile, "She may not have been a powerhouse but believe me when I say, people were scared of her. She is this thing we call, Scary Lucy." Cana suddenly laughed and Arman smiled at her.
"We did see that part of her..." He recalled and suddenly shuddered. He continued staring at Lucy when Cana added in a timid voice, something Arman guessed was not normal for the brunette.
"She has horrible self-esteem. She hated herself in Fairytail. Everyone saw that. Some tried to tell her the truth, that she had nothing to be scared of but some... Some really crushed it for her." Her eyes were glossy as if she was remembering something and Cana looked at Lucy who was rubbing her temple with a frustrated look on her face.
"She is fucking good at hiding her feelings but anyone at the guild could see how her team affected her. It's not like Natsu, Grey and Erza are not nice, they are good guildmates but they are terrible friends."
With a sigh, Cana looks up, back at Lucy who was walking in feont of her, ready to leave.
"Okay! We can leave by 5, I think." Lucy checks her watch and starts descending the stairs. They move towards the main entrance where Arman was already standing with his belongings and Lucy smiled at him. With a quick whisper, Virgo took his stuff and smiled when Lucy thanked her for helping them.
"The air carrier landed 10 minutes ago. It is better if we avoid public places until we reach Bosco." Arman opens the door for them as he spoke and both Lucy and Cana stared with open mouth to see a privet air carrier sitting in her gardens.
Lucy took time to bids goodbye to her staff and assures she will be in contact with them before she steps on the carrier followed by Cana as they join Arman. They wave goodbyes until they are in the air and Lucy looks at Cana, watching her look at the view with wonder.
"When I was a kid, my dad had one of these." She started, grabbing her friend's attention as she saw the estate grow smaller and smaller. "He would invite important people, mayors, politicians, royals, and host parties to show how big a deal he was." Cana watched a strange smile grow on her friend's face and leaned in closer to her. "I find it difficult to hate him." She finally spoke again.
"He wronged me, he robbed me of my childhood and my happiness. He made home hell for me and even after I left." She sighed and put her head on Cana's shoulder. "I hate him but I can't hate him," Lucy whispered and felt Cana nod her head.
"I know what you mean. I hate my old man too, but I also feel it's not his fault, but it is." Cana exclaimed and Lucy hmms in understanding. "Like, how hard is it for you to be part of my life now, which you keep insisting you want to be if you keep leaving." She huffed angrily and Lucy bit back a giggle.
"Sucky dads take the cup." She whispers and both dissolve into a fit of giggles.
Arman looked at both the girls with a sad smile on his face. A shame that the majority of the kids in their previous guild lived a life without experiencing the love of a father or mother. He did not have to be a mind reader like Farron or Kaleb to see the sorrow, the bittersweet memories they share with their families. In fact, it only made him want to hug those poor girls and tell them he was adopting them... or even better, getting them married to one of his children.
He recalled the conversation with Kaleb, a conversation they had once Lucy had put the phone down after informing them of what was happening with Cana and the young boy had wondered if Fiore was such a bad place. "I don't know dad, I knew it was not as liberal as Bosco but they way they treat their own is despicable, and I mean everyone. The pain they are going through makes me really mad." He had expressed with a solemn expression and Arman agreed.
He has dealt with Fiorens before and he knew how they can be. They are not as bad as Pergrande or Joya but still, that country could use a lot of reforms.
Cana retreated to one of the rooms to sleep and Lucy stayed out, staring at the view as they crossed the mountains. Arman walked over and stood next to her and heard her sigh. They stayed in silence for a while before he looks at her and asks,
"How do you feel?" The concern in his voice melted a part of Lucy's brain and she beamed at him. "I feel like a burden is lifted off of me." She went back to staring and Arman felt a smile tug on his face. He was going to say something when she continued, "But I feel sad too."
"Why is that, my dear?" he questioned and Lucy stays quiet, wondering how to put it out there.
"I don't know why Arman, but ever since I came to Bosco, I feel that Fairytail was more toxic than I realized." She eased into the conversation and scoffed lightly when she saw his raised eyebrow. "I am not a child to not notice the environment I live in after I have lived in the same environment half my life." She mused and Arman just nodded, letting her get that off her mind.
"It's just sad that Fairytail stopped being home," she said and Arman looked at her and spoke, wisdom in every word. "To reach great heights you have to go through a lot of pain. To make a family, You have to experience a lot of heartbreak." He gently placed his hand on her head and smiled at her and Lucy felt a burst of parental affection flood her.
"You have experienced both, I believe it's time for you to be happy."
It was Four hours later that Lucy watched the air dock come closer and she could feel the nervousness radiate off Cana and took her hand but Lucy was experiencing completely different emotions. Excitement, lust, happiness, anticipation were running through her veins and it was like she felt him before she saw him, his aura wrapped around her like a cocoon, and her desire to jump into his arms only increased.
When they were close to landing, Lucy saw him and only him. Her heartfelt like it would burst and she could not help but run her eyes on him, feeling a pang in her chest realizing how beautiful he is and warmth flooded her entire being when she heard, 'Not more beautiful than you, sunshine.'
The plane docked and she tried to keep her calm but the moment she was in arms distance, Kaleb grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him, encircling his arms around her waist and not waiting for a second more before kissing her sound on the lip. She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and he pulls her body closer to him, deepening the kiss when she tried to suppress a moan. It was like they were starved, like the distance created this fire in them that only they could extinguish.
Lucy was about to deepen the kiss when Kaleb pulled back and she looked at him with surprise and involuntarily pouted.
With a laugh, Kaleb hugged her and whispered, "We have an audience baby. We will continue this later." his voice turned husky was as strained as Lucy felt her throat be. Then she realized what he had just said and looked past his shoulder to see Vander and Thane.
"So...do I get a kiss like that, Starfire." Vander teased and Lucy laughed at him, stepped out of Kaleb's warmth, and quickly gave Vander a hug and he placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Who's the babe? Gonna introduce us?" Vander whispered and Lucy rolled her eyes. She pulled back and looked at Cana who was giving her a stunning look. Lucy would like to think that if she shocked Cana, she has achieved things in her life.
"Cana, meet Bickslow's brothers, Kaleb and Vander, and guys, meet Cana, my best friend from Fairy tail." Lucy pointed out as she introduced and watched Cana fumble but then blink and smirk at Kaleb who had a sly grin on his face.
"So you are the Sex on legs who is trying to get my girl." She moved towards him and Lucy mentally groaned.
"I am," Kaleb replied with a roguish grin and heat pooled in Lucy's panties, he looked so handsome as he said that. Cana grinned at him, happy to see he was as smitten as Lucy, But of course, Cana was not going to leave the opportunity to see an embarrassment Lucy and leaned forward, playfully whispering and Kaleb was entertained by her antics.
Even Vander leaned towards them and then laughed out loud when Cana said, "She likes it rough. Don't be afraid to spank her ass, she will be putty in your hands." with a grin she winked at Kaleb who just smirked and looked at Lucy who had a glowing blush on her face.
"Canaaaa," Lucy whined and hit her friend's arm. Cana just laughed and then looked at Vander who was smirking at her.
"Well hello handsome." she whistled and winked at him but didn't make any other moves. Vander was about to make some comment when Arman joined the conversation, looking at his watch. "Kids, we need to leave, I have a meeting at the embassy in an hour."
They stuffed into the cars waiting for them and Vander leaned closer to Cana and whispered in her ear, "So...Here I am, what are your two other wishes?" He winked at her and Cana laughed and gave him an unimpressed look, "I don't remember asking my genie for a...Horn dog..." She crinkled her nose and Vander growled at her playfully but then chuckled.
Meanwhile, Kaleb sat next to Lucy, his arm wrapped around her shoulders and smiled at her, 'How have you been Sunshine.' He trailed his finger along her neck and smiled when she shivered under his touch. 'Good...Could have been better.' Lucy admitted and Kaleb hemmed.
'Don't worry' he purred in her head and she felt the sound travel throughout her body and ignite fire as it went, ' I'll make it better for you.' He grinned down at her with mischief in his eyes and Lucy giggled and smiled back at him. 'I missed you.' She said shyly and Kaleb kneaded her shoulder and whispered, "I did too."
They arrived at Arman's house and Lucy held Cana's hand as they were about to exit, surprised to see reporters outside his house, and looked at Kaleb who was frowning and looked at Lucy and smiled. "They want to ask you questions, some want to click photos for their gossip section." he teased and Lucy rolled her eyes and frowned.
Arman got out first with Thane, and Vander and Kaleb who kept their arm around Cana and Lucy to avoid them being flooded by the reporters, and Cana could not help but laugh making Lucy smile as well at the stupidity of the situation. once they were inside, Lucy looked back and saw Kaleb stand in front of the gates and hold his hand up.
"I would like you to respect the privacy of my guild member and remind you that this is the private property of my father and kindly ask you to leave the premises and not create any nuisance or disturbance for the occupants of the house. If there is a breach of the law, I will be forced to take action." He said sternly and Lucy could not keep the smile off her face when he gave them a smoldering smile and walked inside.
He walked towards her and took her hand in his and Lucy tried to keep the smile off her face, but it was becoming difficult to do so. She could only think about how his hand molded against hers the perfect way, how his tan skin looked beautiful under the sun, how he chuckled listening to her thoughts and Lucy groaned and looked away with a pout.
Once inside the house, she walked in to see Cana in Evergreen's arms and the Fairy mage had tears in her eyes as well as vengeance. Not everyone was home, Lucy could only see Evergreen in the room with Vander and Farron who lucy thinks was waiting for his father. Farron smiled at Lucy and she waved at him.
"Why don't you ladies freshen up and meet us at the guild," Kaleb suggested and Lucy turned to look at him with a frown, 'You are leaving.' with a pout and Kaleb bend down in to kiss her lips and smiled against her lips which seemed reluctant to leave his. 'I am afraid so sunshine. I have to deal with reporters outside the guild and prepare for your friends' arrival.' He kissed her again and closed his eyes when Lucy gently wrapped her arms around him and tucked her face in the crook of his neck and inhaled. Kaleb fought back the instinct to gulp or shudder and just enjoyed the feeling of her body against his. He inhaled one last time and pulled back feeling a sudden urge to pin her against the wall and take her right there. He felt like a fire burned inside him and pulling away from Lucy was becoming difficult for him.
When he stepped back, her face looked like he imagined his to be, pupils dilated, heavy breathing, and a dazed look in her eyes. Then it disappeared and she stood there confused and pouted again. Kaleb smiled and caressed her cheek and then left the room.
Lucy looked around and smiled seeing how others gave him and her some privacy and with a sigh walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She stood there, near the bay window with a soft smile on her face. "So you Kaleb's girl huh." She heard a voice behind her and felt the cold magic tickle her neck and smiled. Vander stood behind her, leaning against the counter with a rough grin on his face. "Shame...I wanted to have you." He growled and moved closer to entrap him and Lucy just took a sip of her water.
Vander watched her and moved his hand to play with the loose strand of hair barely touching her face and whispered, "You know, I have never seen him like this." He kept his gaze locked on her and watched little color spread on her cheeks. "He has never fallen in love with someone so quickly. But I don't blame him." He grinned and Lucy smiled back shyly, "Stop it Van." she lightly hit his chest making him laugh but he didn't stop.
"When I first saw you, I wanted to ask you to share pleasure with me there and then, I still do. You are beautiful, beyond words." He spoke with such warmth in his words, no mischief, no teasing, just truth. "I will not lie, I thought you would be perfect for me, You are the light I am the dark, opposites attract and shit." He smiled at her and Lucy was not sure how to react.
"Then I got to know you, and I don't know Starfire, I guess I respect you more than I want to sleep with you." He grinned and moved back, leaning against the counter again. "There is raw chemistry between you and Kaleb, been there since the second you saw him, a blind person could see that." he chuckled when she blushed and then moved towards her to ruffle her hair and grinned when she swatted his hand away with a smile.
"Thank you, Vander." Lucy kissed his cheek and Lucy went to check up on Cana and Evergreen. She entered the room and was immediately greeted by a wide eye Evergreen who pointed at her and exclaimed, "You are in a relationship with Kaleb!?" She whispers shouted and Lucy blushed. "Umm...Yes?" She chuckled nervously and Cana had a wicked grin on her face when Lucy glared at her.
"Lucy..." She started and then suddenly launched towards her, shaking her shoulders making Lucy extremely dizzy, "What took you so long!" She shouted and Lucy tried to stand straight when Ever went on and On about how she finally got with him.
"That bad, huh." Cana snickered and Ever snobbishly raised her nose and exclaimed, "They kept giving each other the I-want-to-fuck-you look and it was unbearable to see them in the same room, trying not to make it obvious they were horny for each other." Ever explained and Lucy made an offending noise, "Oh Please!" She folded her arms across her chest but the blush gave it away that what Ever was saying was true.
Then she looked at Ever and frowned, "Wait, you didn't know? How did Vander know then?" she wondered and Ever shrugged her shoulders. "Do the others know?" Lucy enquired and Ever shook her head. "Not that I know of."
With a sigh, she looked at Cana and mentally cringed seeing the wounds on her body and the slightly uncomfortable expression on her face. "We need to take you to Christoff." She grinned when Cana exclaimed, "Oh yes, please. I have seen his pics and damn daddy, he looks like he is hung like a horse." Smacking her lips she winked at them and Lucy laughed.
Lucy decided she will go back to her own apartment to take a bath and went to find Vander, asking him if he could take them to the guild. Good Thing for them Thane was still at the house, waiting for Arman and Farron to finish business at home before they leave for the embassy. Cana and Ever left with Thane and Lucy with Vander who dropped them right in front of Kaleb's office.
They were getting steady on their feet when the door opened and Laxus stood there, eyes fixed on Cana and a snarl ripped out of his chest seeing all the visible injuries. "Shut it Thunderbird." Cana tried to smile but, uncharacteristically when ahead to give him a hug and Laxus wrapped his arms around her.
Lucy looked him in his eyes and nodded. Oh yes, Bacchus was as good as dead. She would kill him and no one would ever find his body. Bickslow stepped out of the room followed by Freed and his eyes flared red seeing one of his oldest friends hurt like this. He hugged her gently and Freed looked like he was thinking what every ex-Fairy was thinking at this moment.
She was about to ask where Cristoff was when she was suddenly pulled back against a warm chest and where she stood a few seconds ago, stood Cris, his eyes white, skin covered in dragon scale and a deep grown rumbled the entire room.
Lucy was to shocked to see him like that, she didn't even register it was Kaleb who pulled her back.
All she knew was when Cristoff stalked closer towards Cana, who looked at him with a mixture of slight fear and arousal and bend down to eye level, voice gruff, and hard to understand but everyone understood that one word.
"MATE."
