The next morning …

Scotts P.O.V.

I woke when the alarm went off and started playing the radio. I rolled over onto my back and smiled as Trina started waking up. She smiled at me as I said
"Hi"

"Hi"

"That was the best night's sleep I have had in weeks" I reached over and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear just as the song on the radio finished

"Thanks for listening this morning. It's six-thirty on a-" That's when I realised I spent the night, my face dropped as I said

"Oh, God!" Her face dropped as she came to the same conclusion

"Oh my God!"

I jumped out of bed whilst saying

"How did we fall asleep? My dad is going to be pissed when he realises i'm not home" I then pulled on my boxers and black jeans as she said

"'We won't fall asleep. I promise.' What else are we going to do at two o'clock in the morning?" I smirked and looked over my shoulder just as she pulled her robe around her. I then said

"Look, you aren't mad, are you?" she then replied

"I'm furious" her voice was filled with sarcasm. We both smiled before I leant down and gave her a gentle kiss. I deepened the kiss slightly and held onto the belt of the robe. As I bit down on her bottom lip, she pulled away and said
"Okay, no. You have to go and I have to get ready for work" I smirked again before leaning down and kissing her neck. She wrapped her arms around my neck as I mumbled
"Call in sick"

"I can't, and you know it… Seriously Scott"

I moved away from her neck and said
"Fine. fine" I picked up my shirt and started buttoning it as she said
"I'm off tomorrow and Sunday, then i'm all yours" I sighed and said
"I can't, I've got to help my Dad and brother go through some boxes and clear out the barn. Johnny want to get married there in a few months"
"And you're doing that all weekend?"
"My grandma is a stickler for family lunch on sundays when we're in town. If you've got no plans I can ask to see if you can come. If you want to" she smiled, stepped forward, did up my last couple of buttons and said
"Spend the entire day with your family?"
"I want them to get to know you outside of the hospital. I told you that you were the one that got away, i'm not letting you go again" she smiled and shoved me slightly before saying
"Go home" I grabbed my jacket and said
"Alright i'm going and going" I walked down to the front door with her walking behind me.

As I stepped out of the door, I gave her another kiss and said
"I'll call you later" she smiled and said
"You better, flyboy" I returned the smile before turning around and walking back to my car.

I pulled up the driveway 20 minutes later. I'm really hoping that no one is awake yet otherwise this will be kinda awkward. Anyway I got out of the car and made my way up to the house. I put my keys in the lock and quietly opened the door. I stepped inside the house and quietly closed the door behind me. I then began to take my jacket off as I heard dads voice
"Good morning Scott" I sighed and turned to see him leaning against the door frame of the living room. He then said
"Late night?" I started to walk to the kitchen as I said
"Good morning to you too" Jax, John and grandma were in the kitchen.

I yawned as I reached for the coffee, which lead Johnny onto say
"Someones tired. Did you not get much sleep?" I poured my coffee and reached out to snake him upside the head but he moved out of the way. Jax then said
"Leave him alone Johnny" Grandma then said

"Just reassure me that I won't become a great grandma and Please tell me you were at least safe" John nearly spat out his coffee and had to turn around and spit it in the sink as he burst out laughing. Jaxson started giggling and I almost choked on my coffee. I coughed and muttered
"Yeah. Yeah, Grandma"

Dad then said
"Safe? Safe has got nothing to do with this. You shouldn't be doing anything like this, until your married"
"Woah, how come I'm getting the lecture. John was shacking up with Connor for 3 years before he even told us" John then said
"Don't bring me into this Scotty and it's two very different circumstances the main one being neither Connor or I can get pregnant" I then looked at dad and said
"Well, like you didn't do it before you and Mom were married?" Grandma then said
"He has a point, Jefferson. Lucy was 2 months pregnant with Scott when you got married" I quickly finished off my coffee and said
"Right well, i'm going to have a shower. Then we can start sorting out the barn"

Jaxsons P.O.V.

4 hours later Scott, John and Dad were out in the barn going through the boxes stored out there. Grandma has just nipped out to go get some groceries. I'm currently sitting in the lounge reading with Shelby curled up with his head in my lap. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Johnny voice
"Whatcha reading?" I looked up and said
"Stephen Kings 'IT' I found it in some of my old stuff. I think it's Gordans" He took a sip of his water and said
"Actually I think it's Virgils, it's probably what started his fear of clowns"
"Didn't they make a couple films based on this book?" he nodded and said
"Yeah, I bet we could find them if you wanted to watch them" I shrugged and said

"It's a pretty decent book so far, so why not"

He then said
"Why don't you come out to the barn? see if there's anything you want to keep" I shrugged again and said
"I don't want to get in the way" he sat down on the arm on the chair and said
"You won't get in the way Jax. Come on, there's some pretty cool stuff out there. Just come have a look. For me, please" I put my book down and said

"Fine" He smiled as I got up and followed him out of the house towards the barn.

The barn had a bunch of boxes outside that dad and Scott were looking through. Shelbey ran up and sniffed some of the boxes as John and I walked over. Dad scratched the top of Shelvey's head before looking up and said

"Come have a look. Most of this stuff is from when you were children. I was going to donate it but I've got a feeling that we'll be taking it back with us for Allie, Gordy and Virg to look through" I sat down next to him and tucked my legs under me as I rummaged through the boxes.

As I rummaged Scott said

"I was wondering if we could have Grampas old car shipped to the island" Dad then said
"And how do you suggest we do that?"
"Well TB2 could come and pick it up at night and take it back to the island. Brains has been trying out that knew stealth gear so it needs a test run"

"I'll think about it" I then pulled out a small red snowsuit.

Upon seeing it Dad said
"I don't even know we still had that" I looked it at it and said
"Is this the jump suit I wore when during the accident" Scott the said
"Yeah, you were wearing that after the avalanche. You were so small back then, the doctors said it was a miracle you survived" I pulled it against my chest as dad wrapped his arm around my shoulder, I then said

"I kinda wanna keep this"Dad put his arm around my shoulder and said
"This was a major part of your life, keep whatever you want to keep" I put the snowsuit down beside me and continued to look through the boxes.

Not long after that I pulled out a black leather box. Upon seeing it, Scott said
"I didn't even know we still had that" dad looked up and said
"Neither did I" Grandmas voice then echoed through the garden
"I didn't have the heart to get rid of it" I looked between grandma and Dad, and said

"What is it?" John smiled and said
"Open it up" still feeling slightly confused, I opened the box and looked down at the silver locket in it, a pair of silver earrings, and a matching ring and bracelet.

I traced my hands over the jewelry and said
"I remember this, Momma used to wear it whenever you two would go out" Dad then said
"I brought this for your mother not too long after she announced that she was pregnant with you. At the time we had no idea that you would be a girl… it was her dream to pass this onto to a daughter whether it be biological or an inlaw" he then placed his hand on the side of my face and said
"I wish that your mother could have seen you become the young woman you are today, I wish she could have seen all of you grow up but… she was taken from us far too soon" I leant against him as Scott said
"Dad, you did an amazing job raising six kids on your own. I've lost count about how many times i've had to tell you this"
"I didn't do it on my own, I had you, grandma and a couple of neighbours to help" Grandma then clapped her hands and said
"Okay you four come get some lunch" we got up and followed grandma back into the house.
