Author's note: Due to the nature of the battle, Adrien's POV is the last part focused on one person. It will now be written from third person.
(Adrien Third Person POV)
Adrien hides in a broom closet as the windstorm picks up. While he waits for it to be over, he marvels to Plagg. "I can't believe it! Marinette had a crush on me this whole time! I'm so stupid, how did I never notice?!"
"Pfff, you're oblivious and dense," Plagg says. "I was wondering how long it would take for you to realize it."
"You knew this entire time and never told me?!" Adrien whips his head around.
"I know a lot of things you don't," Plagg says. "And with the way things are going, you'll soon find out. Now hurry up and transform!"
Adrien transforms into Cat Noir and jumps out to deal with Soothsayer. He duels with the villain. Ladybug arrives and joins in on the battle. From the start, Cat Noir could tell that Ladybug was doubting her abilities. Curse her anxiety.
"You can do this," he says to her. "You can defeat him. We'll defeat him together. I'm sorry for what I said a couple nights ago."
"You were right, though," Ladybug says vaguely. "Let's stop him before he creates too much damage."
The villain laughs. "You think you can stop me? I have seen the future!"
"Seeing the future and creating it are two very different things!" Ladybug shouts. "You may be able to create what you want, but the future isn't set in stone!"
"I most certainly can predict the future!" Soothsayer yells.
"The Mayans thought they could, too," Ladybug smirks. "But they were wrong. No one can predict the future!"
Soothsayer growls in rage and fury. "Maybe the Mayans were right."
"It's not 2012 anymore!" Cat Noir shouts.
"I predict that the Mayans were right about the end of the world, but not the time!" Soothsayer says. "The end of the world is NOW!"
"No!" Ladybug and Cat Noir shout.
(Third Person POV)
"What are you doing, Soothsayer?!" Hawk Moth shouts. "You'll kill us all! Is that what you want?! Don't destroy Earth!"
"Everything will eventually fix itself," Soothsayer says to his master. "If you want to survive, you have to fight!"
Hawk Moth realizes the danger he's created. All he wanted was the Miraculous's. He didn't want the entire world to be destroyed! What about his son? Where was Adrien? How would Ladybug and Cat Noir save him if they were fighting Soothsayer.
"This is too far!" Hawk Moth shouts. "You can not go through with this!"
"Try me, Hawk Moth!" Soothsayer says, too enraged to think straight.
Hawk Moth growls and goes to remove the akuma. Suddenly, Paris begins to shake violently. The Agreste mansion begins to crumble. Hawk Moth tries to escape the debris as the roof of the house caves in. A chasm opens up and Hawk Moth almost falls into it. He grabs the edge of the floor and holds on. A piece of the building hits him in the chest, knocking the Butterfly Miraculous into the chasm. "No!" he shouts.
The shaking subsides. Gabriel Agreste tries to pull himself up onto the cracked floor of his house, but starts to slip. Nathalie appears and pulls him up. "Sir! Where's your Miraculous?!"
"I lost it in the earthquake," he says, shaking his head.
"Your bleeding," Nathalie says, noticing the blood seeping through his shirt.
"Never mind that!" Gabriel snaps. "I tried to remove the akuma, but the shaking made it impossible. Soothsayer must be stopped at all costs! Transform and help Ladybug and Cat Noir!"
"Help the superheroes?" Nathalie says, shocked. Never had they ever teamed up with the teenagers.
"They are our only hope of stopping the monster I created," Gabriel says. "Go now!"
Nathalie transforms into Mayura and leaves. Gabriel slumps to the ground. "Stop my monster, Ladybug. I didn't mean to go this far. Save my Adrien!"
Juleka marches angrily back to her boat on the Seine. How could her brother make Marinette feel guilty? He knew she would never intentionally hurt her, how dare he hurt her like that?!
"Hey, Juleka, you're home early," Luka says, confused.
"Marinette is hurt," Juleka growls. "She says you're angry at her for liking Adrien. She can't help it and wasn't trying to hurt you! Why did you make her feel guilty?!"
"Oh, I made her feel guilty!" Luka shouts. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt her! You told me to be less of a doormat!"
"I didn't mean be a jerk to her!" Juleka yells.
"I didn't mean to hurt her!" Luka shouts. "Adrien seemed to be jealous of me. If he likes Marinette while dating Kagami, how will he feel when he dates Marinette? Will he be looking at other girls? Will she be liking other guys? I thought I was protecting her from heartache, I never… I never meant to hurt her. I'm sorry."
Luka leaves their room and walks onto the boat's deck. "What's wrong, Luka?" Mrs. Couffaine asks.
"Relationship troubles," he says.
"Well, hopefully they can be solved," she says.
"I can't do anything about it, it's between Marinette and Adrien," Luka grumbles.
"She cheated on you?" his mother asks.
"No, she likes both of us," he sputters.
"Oh," Mrs. Couffaine says. "Looks like another supervillain is attacking the school."
Luka turns around to see an explosion occur in the direction of the school. "I hope they're okay," he says.
The earthquake hits and begins to shake the Seine. The water sloshes around and flips the boat over in the process. Luka and Mrs. Couffaine are thrown into the water and tumbled around. They struggle to right themselves and swim to the surface, but the earthquake hasn't settled yet.
Luka struggles to swim, struggles to live. The water tosses and turns him, playing with him like a toy. His lungs burn for air. Just as Luka thinks he can't hold his breath any longer, the water sloshes him into the side of the river. It knocks the air out of him and he scrambles to hold on as the water settles.
His mother surfaces near him and coughs up water. "Where's Juleka?!" she screams. "Juleka! Juleka!"
The girl never surfaces. "She was still in the Liberty when the earthquake hit, Mom!" Luka shouts.
"She might be trapped down there!" Mrs. Couffaine exclaims.
Luka takes a deep breath and dives under the water.
The school shakes violently as the earthquakes seizes Paris. The students scream as the building begins to crumble. "Get out! Get out!" Alya shouts.
"To the doors!" Ivan's booming voice shouts, helping to lead the panicking students. The building begins to collapse as Nino and Alya help the students out of the doors. "Run!" they shout.
The students run to the streets to avoid the falling buildings. A chasm opens up in front of them and they skid to a stop. Some can't stop in time and fall in. Lila and Sabrina scream as they scramble to hold on. Chloe reaches for her friend in vain as the two slip off and fall into the chasm. Lava begins to flow through the trench. There was no way any of the fallen students could survive.
The school begins to fall on Nino, Alya, and the last students to escape. "Run!" Nino shouts, and shoves Alya out of the way. The building collapses on top of him.
"No!" Alya screams hysterically and she tries to sift through the rubble to find him. Kim grabs her and holds her close to keep her from hurting herself. She struggles hysterically and begs her friends to help Nino. No one had the heart to tell her he was gone.
The other students run for cover in their disintegrating world while the group huddles around Alya. Mylene and Rose try to comfort her, but they had no idea what to say to her. Ivan and Kagami help Ladybug and Cat Noir up. The two had jumped from the building as it collapsed, yet somehow managed to get stuck under a piece of debris. The two help the superheroes over to the group.
"I would expect the other superheroes to show up for this battle," Chloe huffs, a little distraught from the trauma of the earthquake.
"They will," Ladybug pants. "We need all the help we can get in this situation. I will give you the Bee Miraculous one more time. It's an emergency and we need as many heroes as possible. But I still don't trust you after Miracle Queen, Chloe."
"Well, you're going to have to find a new Carapace now that Nino is gone," Chloe says, gesturing to the fallen school. The group looks at her in shock, then at the superheroes.
"Nino is Carapace?" Kim exclaims.
"He was just as bad of a choice as you, King Monkey," Chloe says, revealing Kim's identity.
"What?" everyone exclaims.
"Oh, are you telling me you didn't know that Max was Pegasus, Alya was Rena Rouge, and Kagami was Ryuko, too?" Chloe says, revealing the rest of the superheroes.
"What?!" the class freaks out, chattering quickly to each other.
"Enough!" Ladybug shouts, silencing them. "We'll deal with who's who later! Right now we have to take care of Soothsayer!"
Another earthquake hits and the students fall over. The chasm the other students fell into begins to open up more. Through the shaking, the group tries to move out of the way. Ivan, Mylene, and Rose don't make it.
"No!" Ladybug shouts and tries to reach for them as they fall, but the shaking makes it impossible for her to move. The group watches in vain as their friends fall to their deaths.
The shaking stops and the group recovers. "Run for cover," Cat Noir pants. "Just try to live as we defeat Soothsayer. If you own a Miraculous, we'll try to give it to you. We need all the help we can get."
The group gets up and scatters, each jumping over the debris and avoiding cracks in the ground.
Mayura lands behind the superheroes, surprising them. "Mayura!" Cat Noir shouts, prepared to fight.
"Are you stupid?! Save your energy for the villain at hand!" she shouts.
"Can't Hawk Moth remove the akuma?" Ladybug hisses.
"He lost his Miraculous in the initial earthquake," Mayura says. "Do you think we wanted this?! We're in danger! Our loved ones are in danger! I suggest a truce. I'm useful to you. You need all the help you can get!"
Ladybug relents and Cat Noir follows suit. "We'll agree to a temporary truce under these circumstances. Cat Noir, Mayura, keep Soothsayer busy. I'll go retrieve the Miraculous' and gain allies."
The three go their separate ways. Ladybug plans to swing around the rubble of the school and double back to the bakery to trick Mayura if she was watching. She wraps her yoyo around a still standing building and swings away. The building collapses and Ladybug falls. She scrambles to right herself and move out of the way of the falling building, but fails. Bricks and concrete fall on her back and legs and pin her in a suffocatingly painful trap.
Ladybug cries out in pain. Cat Noir and Mayura hear her. "Ladybug!" Cat Noir says, his eyes becoming slits in terror.
"Go find her, I'll keep Soothsayer busy!" Mayura says. The two part ways.
Cat Noir finds Ladybug and begins to move the debris off of her. "Milady! Are you okay?!"
"I'm fine," Ladybug says and tries to stand up. Her legs give out from underneath her.
Cat Noir catches her. "You can't walk!"
"I noticed," Ladybug winces.
"Lay down," Cat Noir says forcefully as he checks over her legs. "Nothing seems to be broken, but you shouldn't be walking."
Ladybug winces. "I can't hide my identity from him anymore. There's no way I can keep my secret and stop Soothsayer! I can't even retrieve the Miracle Box!" she thinks.
"Take me to the Dupain-Cheng Bakery," Ladybug grimaces as Cat Noir picks her up.
"Why the bakery?" he asks, confused.
"Just do it!" she shouts.
"All right!" Cat Noir says and leaps into the air.
Mayura locates Soothsayer and attacks him. "Give up!" she shouts.
"I thought you worked for Hawk Moth!" Soothsayer says, shoving her back.
"Hawk Moth has ordered you to give up!" she shouts. "Therefore, I am here to stop you!"
"You can't stop me!" the supervillain shouts.
"You can't destroy the world! Why would you want to do that?!" Mayura shouts, trying to reason with the monster.
Soothsayer yells in rage, blinded by fury and empowered by Hawk Moth's akuma. The two adults battle each other.
