Day 30 (August 5th). Free Day III: Our last free day. Today's prompt is open to whatever your heart wishes.
Aki stood at the railway station, waiting patiently for the train from Metz. It was a few weeks after Aki had seen Sherry for the first time after two years and now that she had holidays in between the semesters, the two of them decided that they should spend some time together. Aki didn't know why, but she was quite nervous to see the tall woman again. They always chatted with each other via their phone, sometimes they'd even have late night calls, which would obviously end up with Aki being like a zombie during her first course the day after their call, but Aki didn't mind it that much. After all, she got to hear the deep, attractive voice of her girlfriend for hours. Thinking about all those things made her smile slightly, a warm feeling in her stomach spread too. "I guess that's what people mean with butterflies in their stomach," she mumbled to herself, hearing the announcement on the platform that the train from Metz would arrive. After a minute or two the train came to a halt and a lot of people exited the train, some with suitcases, some with no luggage at all.
Aki looked around to find Sherry. Unlike in Japan, the tall blonde woman didn't stick out as much as there were quite a lot of people that were tall here. However, as more and more people went away from the train into the main hall of the railway station, she soon spotted Sherry, who was searching the area as well to find Aki. The red-head walked over to Sherry, wrapping her arms tightly around the taller woman. "Hey," she mumbled against Sherrys shoulder, who replied with an equally low "hi" before wrapping one of her arms around Aki as well, the other hand resting on her suitcase. "I missed you," Aki said lowly, both of them resting in that position for a while until they slowly let go of each other. Aki smiled brightly at Sherry, while the blonde stated that she'd like to bring her suitcase to the hotel she booked. Aki nodded guiding the blonde to the bus station where they searched for the bus that would lead to the hotel. It was the same Sherry had been to already two months ago when she was in Heidelberg the first time. Sherry said she'd stay there as she didn't want to disturb Aki too much during her stay in Germany, after all the red-head had to work every now and then too. Even though Aki said she wouldn't mind Sherry staying at her apartment, she knew that Sherry was right and so they agreed that the tall woman would book a hotel room again.
After a while they arrived at the hotel. Both of them walked inside, talking to the receptionist for a while and after paying for the room Sherry got the key-card. They took the elevator upstairs and walked into the room that Sherry had gotten. It looked quite similar to the room she got two months ago, looking very expensive to Aki, but she didn't dare to ask the tall woman how much a night in this room would cost. After Sherry placed her suitcase next to the awfully big bed they decided to wander around the city a bit. Even though Sherry had already been to Heidelberg before she said she wanted to go sight-seeing with Aki too. After all, Aki probably knew more about the city than her two colleagues did since she lived here for two years now. Aki had already created the perfect plan for the day, starting with going around the historic centre of the city where quite a lot interesting buildings were located, such as the oldest building of Heidelberg.
After a while, both of them got hungry so they decided to go to some sort of restaurant that wasn't too far away from their current location. They soon found one and both of them decided to just order the menu of the day. Since Aki had spend some time with Sherry last time she was in town, she kind of has gotten used to the slow pace of eating the meal of the tall woman but she still couldn't help but think that it was weird. That meant that she'd always need a lot of time on her hands whenever she wanted to go to a restaurant with Sherry and she only had that much time on days where she didn't have to work. Nevertheless she enjoyed the two hours they had spent in the restaurant before resuming their sight-seeing tour. The next station was obviously the old university of Heidelberg where both of them encountered some of Akis friends, much to the disliking of the red-head since she knew that once her friends started talking they wouldn't stop for quite a while. Of course it came just as she had thought, her friends started asking questions to the tall blonde woman and they couldn't leave the place for yet another hour or even two.
Aki then decided to skip most of the locations she wanted to go to with Sherry, as she realised that the sun would be setting soon and she wanted to show Sherry the beautiful sunset that you could observe perfectly on the castle on a small mountain right next to the city. They had to hurry up a bit but it wasn't that bad that they had to run to the castle. It still took quite a while for them to get there, but they were still in time to see the sunset. Aki smiled brightly, mostly because the light of the sunset that shone onto Sherry made the tall woman even more attractive, but also because she managed to get here on time to enjoy this moment with Sherry. Aki snuggled up to Sherry, the cold evening breeze making her shiver lightly. "It's cold," Sherry said lowly, wrapping an arm around Akis shoulder. The red-head just hummed as a response, shifting a bit so that she could hug Sherry, pressing her head even more against the taller womans shoulder. "You should take a hot shower once you're back home," Sherry said, placing her head on top of Akis, wrapping her second arm around the smaller woman, lightly caressing her with both of her hands. "Sure," was all that Aki said, her voice a bit dulled. They stood like this for a while until the sun was fully set, before they decided that they needed something warm to eat.
After yet another two hours that they had spent in another restaurant, they decided that it was time to go to sleep. Obviously Sherry thought it would be safer if she accompanied Aki back to her apartment, even though Aki insisted that she would be fine. They now stood there, Sherry in front of Akis apartment and Aki already in the threshold of her apartment, smiling at each other. "It was a nice day," Sherry stated, making the red-haired woman smile even brighter. "I hope you'll be my tourist guide tomorrow too," she added, walking a bit closer to place a kiss on Akis forehead. "Sure, I'll be your tourist guide whenever I'm free," Aki said lowly, before she placed a kiss on Sherrys lips. It was meant to be a short kiss, but somehow it turned out to be more than that. Akis hands were now holding onto the collar of Sherrys coat, pulling the tall woman closer to herself, while Sherrys hands were now wrapped tightly around Akis waist. They stood there for a while, heatedly kissing each other until Aki thought it would be better if they'd be kissing somewhere else. With that thought in mind, she pulled Sherry into her apartment, somehow closing the door behind them. Aki certainly didn't need a hot shower to warm herself up now.
