A.N. Here is the last bit of filler before we start what would be the first episode of season 2. Where they all go back to school.
"Are you sure, you didn't want to stay home, mom?" Izuku asked his mother as he carried another customer's order. He was working at Hudie's today, because Marcus had asked for him to cover while he sorted out some issues with Sayo and U.A. His mother was taken a back at first, insisting that he stayed and rest, however after some convincing they had come to a compromise.
"Izuku, sweetie, I just want to make sure you're doing alright." Inko said as she watched her son work. She had been worried at first, but seeing him look a bit more relaxed in the café had put her to ease if only slightly. It also helped that Hudie had several other friendly faces to help and the work wasn't just piled onto him.
"Okay Mom, but you're over react-ting." Izuku slipped throwing up a tray. Lucky for him, he felt the telekinetic tug of his mom's quirk keeping him from falling. Izuku turned to his mom who was flashing him a warm smile before he managed to regain his footing. He heard someone cough behind him, causing him to jump a second time but thankfully he didn't fall back.
"You dropped this." A white haired girl said as she held the tray in one hand. Izuku nervously took it while she put up the wet floor sign she had brought in her other hand.
"Sorry about that Kitty." Izuku apologized.
"No worries." The girl said as she returned to her job. "Just be glad it was me and not Wiz. He's not as graceful." She teased.
"I heard that." A blonde boy said as he stopped sweeping.
"It's true." Kitty playfully pouted before turning to Inko. "So Mrs. Midoriya, can we get you anything?" She asked the lady.
"Oh, um, no thank you." Inko politely refused.
"Nah I insist." Kitty said. "We've already treated that girl Izuku brought here last time. Surely we can treat the other special lady in his life." Kitty told her. Izuku paled when he heard what she said. Turning to his mother, he found that she had curious expression as the gears in her head started to turn.
"Wait…what girl?" Inko asked curiously.
"Um…let's see she was short, brown hair, round face…I believe he brought her here after the entrance exam." Kitty said nonchalantly. "She was kind of cute too."
"Izuku." Inko turned to her son. "Baby you never told me had a girlfriend." Inko said as she hugged her son much to his embarrassment. "My little boy's growing up so fast." She wept.
"MOM!" Izuku stammered nervously before shooting Kitty a glance. "It's not like that I swear." He told her.
"From what Sayo said, you two are in the same class, you've been partnered with her for the battle trial and you eat lunch together almost every day." Wiz deadpanned.
"Et tu Wiz." Izuku said before he refocused on his mother. "Mom…she's just a friend. We only met last week so can you all please not jump to conclusions so soon." He begged.
"Sorry sweetie." Inko said as she calmed down. "I was just so excited you finally made your first friend in U.A." She beamed. "You have to introduce me some time."
"Sure Mom. I'll introduce you to them some day." He told her.
A phone suddenly started to ring in Marcus's office. Kitty was quick to go inside and answer it while the rest of them resumed their work. When the white hair girl came back out she pulled Izuku to the side. "Mirei's got a job for you." The girl told him.
"But what about my mom?" Izuku asked.
"I'll take off it." The girl told him. "Act natural." She said as they walked back to meet Inko. "Ms. Midoriya, me and Izuku need to go and collect some supplies from one of the stores…do you think you can help Wiz handle things here?" Kitty asked.
"Oh um I suppose I could." Inko told them.
"Perfect." Kitty said as she took of her apron and handed it to Inko. "We'll be back in an hour or two." She said as she dragged Izuku outside. Once they were outside, Izuku took out his digivice and opened a portal into the digital world. As they walked through Kitty's body flashed in a white light before she transformed. Standing only a few feet tall now was a white anthropomorphic white cat with yellow gloves in the girl's place.
"Okay so here's the address." She told Izuku as she sent the directions to his digivice. "It's nothing to serious but you should still be on your guard after yesterday." The human turned digimon told him as she turned to go elsewhere.
"Wait where are you going?" Izuku asked the feline.
"To Hagurumon's electronics…if we come back empty handed she's going to know something's up….also Erika wanted me to grab some new parts to upgrade to computers." The cat digimon answered as she left.
"Well looks like it's just us." Izuku told his digimon. "Hopefully we won't take too long."
"This should be easy now that Black Agumon can digivolve." Guilmon said enthusiastically.
"Yeah." Black Agumon agreed.
An Hour later...
Inko looked up from her seat when she heard the door open. She was expecting another customer but it was only Marcus. Surprisingly he didn't head right for his office; instead he went to one of the empty tables and sat down. He was quiet. Wiz came and asked if he was doing alright but Marcus simply said he fine. Inko didn't by it. Sayo also wasn't with them and this made her a little worried. Seeing as no one was really in the café, Inko went and sat by the table with Marcus.
"How was the meeting?" Inko asked as she looked around, she half expected Sayo to come through the door any minute now.
"It went alright." Marcus answered as he rested his head in his hands. "The school says some parents want her to be expelled or at the very least suspended." He told her. "Luckily they weren't willing to bend their backs so easy. They actually wanted to give her detention but I tried convincing them to give her community service instead." He explained to the lady.
"Community service?" Inko asked.
"Sayo is a good kid but she's terrible in most social settings. She can't function well with most people all that much." Marcus admitted. Granted he wondered how any of these people would be able to live if they were suddenly in a world that operated in different rules. A huge part of Sayo's life is the digimon so not talking about it with other people was hard enough. Then you have to add that she has her own attitude problems and her lack of a quirk and everything just keeps getting harder. "She can however function on the odd jobs I give her, it's...familiar to her." He told the woman.
"She gravitates towards what's familiar." Inko stated.
"Yeah…. I've had to force her to make friends before and play nice but I don't think that's working exactly. She does have one other friend she made besides Izuku but the reasons behind that friend are a little more complicated." He told her.
"What exactly happened to make her this way?" Inko asked.
"It's a long story but it's not mine to tell." Marcus said. It really wasn't. "Where's Izuku by the way?"
"He had to step out. Apparently he and Kitty needed to pick up some supplies." Inko told him.
'So he's handling a digimon.' Marcus thought. "Okay...I sent Sayo to run some errands for me before I came." Marcus explained.
"Oh that's a relief." Inko said. "I was afraid maybe you two had a fight."
"Believe me I know how she acts. If she fights it's never because she just wants to do so." Marcus said. "She was freaked out about Izuku being put in endanger and acted on it. I can't be mad at that especially when I would do the same. The only thing I can really do is try and get help for her to manage her emotions better." Marcus said.
"You too are really close huh." Inko said.
"I suppose you can say that." Marcus told Inko. "To tell you the truth I was a bit surprised when they told me I would have to look after her. I never had any kids of my own. All my friends and family grew and moved on with their lives and went on to have families of their own, while I just kept working because I felt I had to. I never involved myself with anything else" Marcus confessed.
"I didn't think running a cafe could take so much out of you." Inko admitted.
"Believe me if it was just the cafe, I would have been fine." Marcus told her. "But you see in my younger years...I was kind of in the police force." He admitted. "It was a different time back then."
"Yeah." Inko replied. She had grown up in the Pre All Might era. Before the Symbol of Peace had arrived, crime rates just never seemed to go down, no matter how many heroes appeared. It was chaotic but then All Might arrived and with his great power he started stomping out evil everywhere. It wasn't just his power either, it was the way he smiled and the charisma he had, it made civilians feel safe and villains cower. She could only imagine how hard it must have been for a cop at the time especially one who was quirkless.
"But you've done a good job with Sayo...and Izuku." Inko admitted. "I've always felt like maybe I failed him because I wasn't good enough. That maybe if it was someone else maybe he would have inherited their quirk and he could have been a hero like he always wanted." The mother told the leader of Hudie. "I-I gave up him because I thought that everything I could have done...I did." She admitted as a few tears formed in her eyes. "But you...you never doubted him. You saw he could be a hero and trained him. You gave him hope." She admitted.
"You're too hard on yourself." Was all Marcus said. "Had you really stopped supporting Izuku...he might have given up trying to be a hero a long time ago." Marcus told her. "You're good mother Inko...and you raised an amazing son." He told her.
Meanwhile...
"RUUUNNN!" Izuku told his digimon as they hurried out the forest. He was holding onto a small baby digimon while his partners ran alongside him, behind them a swarm of large bug like champion digimon, flymon, were following them in hot pursuit.
"Why is it always bug digimon?" Black Agumon complained as he ran.
"I don't know." Izuku answered. The case was search and rescue; apparently the baby digimon had gotten lost during a field trip with Togemon's class and had wondered into the Flymon's territory. Seeing as she couldn't leave the others behind, she had enlisted the cyber sleuths to go and retrieve the baby.
While they ran Izuku noticed how low some of the tree branches hung. "Guilmon, Black Agumon, blast the branches." He ordered. The digimon followed suit blasting the branches that were a little way ahead of them. After they passed, the flaming pieces of wood fell, blocking a most of the Flymon…most of them. Three of the digimon kept following them however a third group entered to fray.
"Hello." Sayo said as she landed a drop kick on one of the Flymon with Black Gabumon landing on top another while Phascomon and Lunamon took the last one. Sayo and her digimon then jumped off the downed Flymon and joined Izuku and his group. One of the Flymon wasn't as incapicated as she thought though and tried to strike her from behind. Luckily Izuku had spotted the champion and quickly pulled his partner to the side avoiding the creature's stinger before Guilmon and Black Agumon caught it. Izuku wasted no time in smacking the bug digimon in the face sending it flying. "Thanks." Sayo told him.
"No problem." Izuku said as they both took out their digivices.
"D.N.A. CHARGE!" They said in unison.
"Guilmon."
"Lunamon."
"Black Agumon"
"DIGIVOLVE TO" their partners spoke in sych.
"Growlmon."
"Leksimon."
"Dark Tyrannomon."
The three newly evolved champions all stood together against the three bug digimon. The two large dino's letting off loud roars of triumph as they stared down their opponents. Leksimon merely rolled her eyes at them. "Do they have to be so loud?" She asked her teammates as she readied herself. Her team merely shrugged their shoulders not knowing what to say as they watched the champions engage with the three Flymon.
The first Flymon to be defeated was beaten by Leksimon. The rabbit digimon had sidestepped her opponent's large stingers that were shot at her, narrowly avoiding them. Realizing she didn't have a means for getting the digimon while it was moving in the air, Leksimon instead decided to pick up a few of the stingers that had been stuck in the grown. She threw them up before she kicked and punched a few of them sending them back to their owner who while they avoided the first two, had one of their wings pierced by the returned stinger. The flymon staggered as it tried to stabilize itself but that was enough time for Leksimon to jump up to reach the flying champion. The data digimon then used her ice attack to strike the other wings, freezing and shattering them like paper, downing the digimon. Once on the ground it was for Leksimon to deliver a powerful kick to Flymon turning it back into a digi-egg.
Growlmon and DarkTyrannomon though had a different strategy. They were able to use their fire breathe to burn away the stingers the Flymon shot at the, When the Flymon realized what was going on they immediately changed tactic and began flying around trying to distract the two dinos. Feeling they had confused them, one of the Flymon attempted to strike Growlmon only for the humans to alert the dino's beforehand. While Growlmon didn't react in time, Dark Tyrannomon did and he managed to bite the giant bug before the stinger connected to his partner. With a chunk of the insect's body in his mouth, Dark Tyrannomon formed a fire ball while he held the creature and incinerated it. He then dropped the creature's charred body which reformed into a digi-egg.
"Alright last one." Sayo said as the last Flymon hovered above them. It wasn't moving and it didn't shoot any stingers. It just stayed there. That's when the cyber sleuth noticed something off. There was a light purple mist descending from its wings. "Fall back." She said when she recognized the poison. The digimon did as she was told and she and Izuku backed away but the creature hovered after them keeping its distance above them. Izuku looked around noticing the stingers that remained on the ground. They couldn't shoot it down from the distance they were at but….
"I've got an idea." Izuku said to them. He ordered Leksimon to grab a stinger and jump onto Growlmon's tail. When the digimon was in position he gave Growlmon the signal and using his powerful tail he shot Leksimon into the air at the Flymon. The digimon easily flied to the side avoiding the rabbit, but hitting it was never the sleuth's intention. Once she soared past it, Leksimon turned around and with all her might she tossed the stinger hitting the wing of the Flymon. Much like before the creature had to stabilize itself, however rather than freeze it this time, Dark Tyrannomon shot a fire ball burning of the remaining wings. The black dino then ran to catch Leksimon while Growlmon position himself to catch the falling Flymon. Leksimon landed safely in the dark dino's arms while Growlmon caught Flymon in one hand before he sliced it with his plasma blades causing it to turn back into the third and final digi-egg.
"Here you go." Izuku said as he returned the baby to Togemon.
"Thank you." The cactus digimon said before she noticed the three eggs Sayo's team were holding.
"Hehe." The sleuth's laughed nervously as the handed over the eggs.
"Well that was kind of fun." Sayo said as they rode Locomon back to Hudie's café. Beating those Flymon's had honestly been a little refreshing for her after today. It was also pretty nice seeing Dark Tyrannomon in action. He was pretty cool.
"Next time, I'm walking with a large can of bug's spray." Black Agumon told them. They all shared a laugh at the black dino's dismay. "What? It's true, we always run into giant bugs." He told them.
While the digimon kept had their own conversation, Izuku turned his attention to Sayo. "So how did it go?" He asked his partner. He was worried about what had happened with Sayo in U.A. , hoping that it was nothing to serious.
"Well I got to apologize to them, see the guidance councillor for a few sessions and then either suffer through a month of detention or work community service for the school." She told him. Izuku meditated on what she had told him.
"That doesn't sound too bad." He noted.
"I'm actually excited for my 'punishment'." Sayo told him. "I get to work at a separate pace and I won't be stuck in a class with most of those…people." Sayo said.
"I take it besides Shinso you don't like anyone else there." Izuku stated.
"Yeah…although I've got a bone to pick with Shinso." Sayo said darkly.
"What did he do?" Izuku asked worriedly.
"He tried to use his quirk to keep in class." She told him. "It would have worked too had one of the girl's not tripped me."
"I can only imagine how bad that went." Izuku said. Sayo didn't respond to that. She just smiled and nodded. Eventually they arrived at the digital world's Hudie, where Kitty was waiting for them with three boxes of spare parts. Each of them took a box before Sayo opened the exit portal and they returned to real world.
And now we already have Dark Tyrannomon teaming up with them.
Okay but all that aside season 2 is official under way and we already have some new characters. Kitty and Wiz. I'm sure most people can guess who or what they are expies off. I was inspired to have them after i read that chapter in xros manga and played the side quests in cyber sleuth and hacker's memory. The whole digimon disguising as humans was a really cool concept to me so I am implementing it here.
Question for this chapter what are some odd jobs do you think Sayo should do for U.A.
Some of what I got are;
Assisting Lunch Rush
Being a guinea pig for Power Loader
Playing damsel in distress for Heroics
and an assistant to recovery girl.
I'm open to some more suggestions so if anyone of you have them feel free to put them in a review or pm.
Also we crossed 100 favs. So yeah there's that.
As always thanks for reading and make sure to follow, fav and review and I stay safe.
