The sky was painted in magenta and maroon shades, by the time Toshinori Yagi woke up. First, he realized that he was in a hospital bed then, that it was an oddly familiar room and finally, the events of the night, the date that never happened, and his failed attempt in an apology came to him. Mori-san was not in the room, which did not surprise him but the whole place was very quiet, almost to the point of being eerily quiet. The curtains being pulled together obscuring the outside world and the lights off only added to the uncomfortable feeling.

Leaving the room, he found himself in the similarly dim and empty waiting room of the clinic part of the house. Approaching the door to the living area, he first listened. There was no sound to be heard. He knocked a few times, waited and tried again. There was no answer so he tried the handle, knowing full well that the action itself was most inappropriate. The door was locked. The whole situation made little sense. He was alone in a private clinic which was also the house of his physician and, hopefully still, friend. He had no idea what to do, his phone was broken so he couldn't use it. He did not remember the numbers of the people who could help him figure things out so using the phone inside the office was pointless. The number on Mori's card was for her office and not her private number so that wasn't helpful either. With a deep sigh, he went to get some water.

On the counter was a note addressed to him.

'Yagi-san,

I left you some food you should be able to digest in the fridge. It's hidden behind the door of the left most cabinet. Make sure to eat all of it even if you are not feeling hungry, believe me when I say you need it.

I have been summoned to hospital so I am unable to see how you are currently feeling. Please make sure to submit your daily report to me tonight as well.

Best regards,

Dr. Mori

P.S.

Congratulations on once again, destroying parts of your small intestine and liver. Avoid fried, fatty or greasy foods and get proper rest.'

Sitting in Mori's office a few days later, still felt very awkward. After getting his phone fixed, Toshinori tried contacting her and explaining everything he could but, all he was able to get was a new appointment for his weekly check up at the doctor's clinic. Every time he tried to explain, apologize or anything of the sort, she would stop him. Never in a rude manner. She was being fully professional and back to the state that reminded him of an empty shell, a vessel, even a doll.

Now a few weeks later, he was sitting in front of her feeling awkward. He understood and accepted that she wanted none of his explanations and that their relationship, if one could even say they had one, was reverted to the state it was in when they first met. It felt like they were strangers once again. It's been almost 2 months since their first encounter and Toshinori caught himself missing the times when he felt like he could read what was on her mind, understand her feelings and well, that she was a friend. He wasn't sure how, from a stranger he didn't fully trust, she became someone he cared for so soon. He knew perfectly well that he did not love her. He liked her as a person. She was interesting to him, for both right and wrong reasons, a puzzle he wanted to solve but not convinced he should. He had a strong feeling that if he did, the thing he was going to find…. Bluntly speaking, he would not like it.

Maybe it was just easy. She let him be a weak man in front of herself and he allowed her to care for him, no matter if it was her work. Maybe it was the fact that with her help, he was getting better and he hoped that she would allow him to become strong again. Maybe it's just been too long since he allowed himself to rely on another person and he missed being able to depend on somebody else. Maybe, just maybe. He had no idea but whatever it was, he wanted it back. He also in those weeks that passed, gave up on trying.

Taking a seat by her table, Mori-san just informed him that this day, they will start with him answering some questions. They might be personal, possibly inappropriate, likely things he might be uncomfortable with but he will need to answer her honestly. She needs that information to be able to treat him properly and avoid further regression. His progress turned back. He understood as much from the note she left for him. Back then, the hope of his grand recovery almost shattered but today she explained that she should still be able to fix him. It will take more time, and him being more careful and taking better care of himself but… It was still possible.

The first questions were normal. His habits, his work schedule, amount of sleep, exercise, nothing out of the ordinary.

"Are you in a relationship?" That caught him off guard.

"No, why?" He was confused but not given an explanation

"Has a relationship ended recently?" He blinked at her, watching as she just marked his previous answer in her notebook.

"No…" He tried thinking back about the last time he was in one, he honestly did not remember. Maybe in his early days as a hero, maybe even before that. She said those might be uncomfortable questions, she didn't lie. His voice was weak as he answered and it earned him a short glance.

"Divorced or separated?" This time he just stared at her. Why was she even asking this? What did it have to do with anything? He never married, he never even had a partner he considered marrying and here she was asking if he was divorced. She was looking at him as he sat there staring, then marked something in her file.

"Child support?" Toshinori nearly dropped his cup of tea but was able to keep hold of it.

"N - no! I don't have any!" He was flustered, this question was highly personal. True, he wanted to have a family, he wanted to be a father, he also knew that with him being All Might, it was impossible. It was too risky.

After marking something down, doctor Mori looked up at him. Something flashed and vanished in those eyes of hers. Absentmindedly, she tapped her pen to her bottom lip, let out a small sigh, looked straight at him and asked. This question made a cold shiver run down his spine.

"Mental issues?" He had no idea how to answer it. He had nightmares that made him wake up in the middle of the night. He was insecure with his ability to keep beings a hero, a pillar for the masses. He had his guilt for all the people he was unable to save. The questions over some of the choices he made and the path he took. The people who encouraged him to start looking for the next person to carry One For All. About the prediction that Sir Nigheye had. How much harder it was now to keep smiling and making silly jokes infront of people and keeping his persona as his body is breaking apart. His time limit.

"Is it a yes?" Mori reminded him of the question. He opened his mouth to answer, to protest, and then remembered her warning. In order to be able to treat him properly, he would have to answer honestly. With his head hung down, and his eyes tightly shut, she told her the truth.

"I… Don't know." His voice barely a whisper but in this room and it's waiting silence, she was able to hear it, nodded and made his answer down.

"Suicidal?" His hands were nearly trembling, weakly holding the small mug. As this single word and it's meaning were spoken, they lost all remaining strength. His eyes, full of almost teror shot up, wide open as the porcelain hit the floor and shattered.

"Of course not! Why would you even ask that?!" He was surprised by his own outburst. She on the other hand, didn't look surprised at all and just asked the next question.

"Any cases of self harm?" Once again, Toshinori didn't know if to get angry or not. Those things were horrible! Why would she even think about them?

"No!" His answer came out louder than he intended as he went down to pick up the shards.

"I figured out as much. Normally, it takes one to see one." He froze at this statement. Takes one to see one? He wasn't sure of the meaning so he looked up at her face. There was something unpleasant in her expression. A well hidden darkness that he refused to accept, to let it sink.

"Then tell me Yagi-san, if you have no suicidal tendencies and do not practice self harm, then why the hell are you actively killing yourself?"
