Luz quickly forced the stake towards her heart. Eyes closed, ready for her end... but she never felt the impact. She opened her eyes and saw another vampire holding the wood.
"You aren't really going to stake yourself, are you? It would ruin all the effort it took to turn you."
"Y-you turned me? You're the one that made me into a monster?! You ruined my life!"
"I didn't ruin your life, I made it better. Think about it, you can help me end the tyrannical rule the witches have on our land. The Isles rightfully belong to us."
"I will never help you! After what you've done you think I'll help?! Because of you I can never see my mother without the fear of killing her, I can't go back home because I could be killed, I've almost killed my friends and girlfriend because of what you've done!"
"They deserve it. Witches are weak, they don't deserve to be free on the Isles."
Luz's hands quickly got covered in shadows and her nails got sharp.
"I see you've mastered Shadow Claws. Impressive."
Luz tried to claw him but he dodged with ease. She tried again but he dodged and punched her in the back of the head. She was sent flying into a tree, her head slammed against it and her vision got blurry. She turned around and saw him walk to her. He pushed her to her knees and looked into her eyes.
"Look at my eyes. You are nothing but an instrument of my will. A soldier under my command. Is that clear?"
Luz clawed the right side of his face and he hissed in pain. He touched the wound with two fingers. He removed them and looked at them. She drew blood. He looked at her as the wound healed and growled at her.
"It would appear not using my hypnosis in a few centuries has come back to haunt me."
Luz wiped her claws clean and prepared for another fight. He ran at her and managed to grab her hands. He pressed his thumbs into her palms. The shadows vanished and Luz looked at him in shock. He threw her on the ground and put his foot on her chest. He held his hand out and the piece of wood flew into his hand.
"Time for a quick vampire lesson. As long as it isn't the heart, you can be stabbed by a stake anywhere. Observe."
He shoved the stake into her stomach and she screamed in pain as tears started to form in her eyes. He ripped the stake out and stabbed her in the left hand. He watched in delight as she screamed and cried.
"I expect results from you during the New Moon, or else."
While he wasn't paying attention, Luz was drawing a glyph in the mud. He noticed it but he was too late as a blast of fire hit him in the side of the face. He screamed in pain and tried to put the fire out. He ran away and Luz got up. She painfully pulled the stake out of her hand. She watched as her body slowly started to heal.
"One thing he forgot to mention is that the stake will cause my healing to go slower. Hopefully I can make it back before I bleed out. Wait, can I bleed out?"
Luz ran to the Manor and managed to make it there in less than a minute. She walked through the front door while holding the hole in her stomach.
"Luz, what happened?!" Amity screamed.
Luz wrapped her arms around and started to cry again.
"I-I-I had a run in with the one that turned me. He said witches don't deserve to have rule of the Isles. H-h-he said he want results from me on the New Moon or else. Amity, I'm scared."
"It's okay, honey. I won't let him hurt you."
