A/N: I kept this case shorter than the original only using snippets of it because it's such an intense case and I didn't want to have this case be dominant in the chapters. Another reason I decided to add this case is that I do enjoy it even though it can be hard to watch and I believe it relates to my O.C. well since she endured so much abuse. Anyway, I have another favorite case coming from season 11 that will dominate a few chapters like the episode, Entropy was! Remember, my O.C. is supposed to be Cat Adam's twin so you'll be getting more of Cat! ;)
The team flew out to St. Louis and found Tom and Violet rather quickly. Violet was in a hospital room and Tom was in the hospital too until they could get him completely processed. They kept Tom as far from his victims as they could without moving buildings. Hotch had just finished questioning him and was sharing what happened with the team, especially that Tom had nothing to hide.
Natalie rolled her eyes. Rossi interjected before she could comment,
"Nothing to hide? He's full of it."
He sat down in the chair next to Reid, coffee readily in hand. A much-needed boost with this case.
"The preliminary M.E. report does suggest that Clara Riggins died of natural causes," Reid responded, turning to Rossi.
"Guys. Something isn't sitting right with me. Violet couldn't wait to get out of here like it was urgent, it's all she could talk about it." J.J. shared.
"Well, she had been held captive most of her life. All of this has to be a tremendous shock." Rossi replied
"No question about that but that wasn't it. It's like she had somewhere specific in mind and she needed Tom to go with her." J.J. answered.
"She's been conditioned to depend on him for everything," Hotch replied.
"Right. But you condition someone by doing something over and over again. We know the girls were repeatedly abuse and while, she's been conditioned to that abuseā¦I doubt that's what's created this sense of urgency in her." Natalie spoke up which surprised the team a little. Natalie felt that surprise, "You guys, it's my job to profile, not project. Besides, these are cases I worked with Andy."
Hotch nodded, he really approved of the newest agent. She was quite seasoned for being so new to the B.A.U.
"Maybe he rewarded her somehow?" Rossi asked.
A lightbulb went off in J.J.'s head, "What if she has a child? Where else would you want to go so badly?"
"That would make sense considering the urgency she feels to go." Prentiss interjected.
"And that she needs Tom to take her, he's conditioned her to rely on him for anything. She needs him to go because she doesn't realize we can get there." Morgan added.
"That's not a stretch either. Sheila had a miscarriage. Violet could have carried to term." Rossi contributed.
"We did profile he might be trying to fill some kind of void since he didn't have a family." Reid shared.
"Right but Gina Bryant never mentioned any baby." Natalie told them.
"Well, Violet could have had the baby before Gina was abducted. Gina wouldn't even know about it." J.J. replied.
"Well, if we're right about any of this, that means there's another kid somewhere." Rossi told the team.
"Who's taking care of them?" Natalie asked.
"Exactly. We need to find this possible other child and quickly." Morgan told them.
Garcia had finally found Violet, or Amelia, her real name. She found everything about her up until her abduction. J.J. went back into the room to try and get somewhere with Violet/Amelia. She was sensitive to her, she showed her a picture of who she was.
Amelia told J.J. about her belly getting big, her getting sick, and then getting her two sisters. J.J. tried to not be shocked and alarmed by the two time pregnancy and how little Amelia knew of what happened to her. It broke J.J.'s heart a little. Amelia kept telling J.J. that Daddy knew where "the disappearing place" was which is where her "sisters" were being held.
While J.J. was heartbroken for what this innocent girl had gone through, she understood they needed to work quickly to save these other two innocent children, born into the world in such a cruel light.
"Hotch, you can't be serious." Natalie protested.
"We do have a plan." Hotch assured Natalie.
"We have a way to use her parents in this, Rossi and I will be the agents in the room the whole time. We need to find those other girls. Right now, this is the lead we have." Rossi told her.
"I'm sorry. I know. It's just, this poor innocent girl doesn't even know she's facing her abuser over and over again each day and each time they interact." Natalie sighed as the officers brought Tom to the front of the room. Natalie walked away to sit in one of the chairs, next to Reid trying to remember anything that might help them find the other two girls.
Natalie, Reid, Morgan, and Prentiss watched as J.J. walked Amelia's parents into the room. Natalie wondered how her dad was jumping Tom to break his other arm. She admired the restraint.
"My name is Amelia." The three agents in the hall heard her shakily speak up.
"Amelia. Amelia! AMElia! AMELIA!" The girl yelled as she tried to throw Tom against the wall. The agents in the room had to pull her off.
While the 3 in the hall couldn't see exactly what was going on, they had an accurate guess.
Since Tom didn't give up a location for the other two girls, the team had to use their profile to find them. They had profiled his consistency and that he wouldn't waiver from routine. They determined the house he used based on the people he had taken advantage and grocery stores within a 10 mile radius.
The girls were found safely and brought to the hospital to be reunited with Amelia and Gina. Sheila had passed away earlier that day from complications with her illness.
"I know we can't condone it but I don't have an ounce of blame for Sheila's mom." Natalie told the team.
"Neither do I." Rossi said, boldly. He stood up to grab some scotch from the back of the plane.
Hotch was reviewing the case for the debriefing. J.J., Prentiss, and Morgan were sleeping. Reid was reading next to Natalie. She started to stare out the window, she wanted to doze off but couldn't.
She looked at Reid, she wondered how into the book he was but she decided to risk the interruption,
"Do you want to play chess?"
He shut the book and nodded.
The pair began the game of chess that they weren't sure they'd finish before the plane landed.
"If we don't finish this game before the plane lands, do you want to get a milkshake and keep playing?" Reid asked.
Natalie smiled, "Definitely."
A/N: Don't worry! I have so much written already so I will be releasing more soon. Please give constructive feedback on the story so far, just be kind as I am really new to this!
