Everlasting
Chapter 18
Lucas entered the hospital room taking careful steps inside. The breathing machine was the loudest sound you could hear.
Lucas felt a large lump of emotion well up in his throat. He wasn't sure he was capable of speaking or moving.
The hospital bed was large. Given her small frame there was alot of spare room on the bed to sit down if you wanted too.
Lucas got as close to Aurora as he could. Her face was bruised and swollen along with her arms and legs but even with that his little girl was there. And that is what he would focus on.
He grabbed ahold of her hand in his.
"My Girl. My heartbeat and purpose."
"You are the reason i have this life. That i became anything of substance at all. You are and were my motivation to be better strive for more. Through all the challenges you faced. You've never allowed it to keep you down for long.I know you're tired and hurting more then i can imagine."
"If this whole thing is too much for you. And you can't fight anymore. Then i want you to just let go and allow me to carry it. The hurt, pain, stress. I'm going to be alright. You don't have to stay strong and stick around for me or anyone else."
"I love you're dad has been the greatest gift. I could of ever been given." Lucas said. The emotion in his voice thick.
As he felt his hand get squeezed.
Aurora's eyes opening slowly.
Her voice soft and raspy as she spoke.
"I love you too. And thank you." She said. Tears falling from her eyes. As she let go of his hand.
"Ro. Aurora." Lucas voice breaking with emotion. He knew she was gone. He felt her slip away.
