The next week Gabriella and Taylor stood in the gym watching the last few minutes of the championship game. Gabriella was currently dressed in a white dress (Right Here Right Now) covered by Troy's letterman jacket with his last name printed on the back with his number 14. She watched with anticipation as the Wildcats were one point down. She held her breath in the last few seconds as Troy had the ball. (From the movie - credit to Disney). He jumped to shoot but in the last second, threw it to a sophomore, Jimmie Zara. After the initial shock, he scored a three-pointer, securing the Wildcats their triple win.

As soon as the crowd was allowed to go to the court, Gabriella leapt from her seat and ran down. She launched herself into Troy's waiting arms upon seeing her coming towards him. Typically, they weren't into demonstrating too much PDA besides holding hands or kissing each other's cheek but this was an exception. She launched herself into his arms, her own wrapping around his neck as her legs wrapped around his waist, his hands supporting under her thighs as he'd caught her.

Though this wasn't a position they'd typically find themselves in, neither of them minded. She hugged him tightly from her position, whispering in his ear. "Congratulations Wildcat, I'm so proud of you."

He kissed her cheek and grinned. "Thanks Brie, I can't believe it."

She smiled but it faded as she ran her hand over his cheek. "Are you ok though, you took some hard hits."

He smiled softly, knowing he should have assumed she'd be worried about the hits he took because of her past. "I'm fine Baby I promise, I might be a little sore tomorrow, but that's nothing a bit of ice and Advil won't fix."

She smiled, "ok I love you so much Troy, I'm so proud of you."

He leant their foreheads together. "I love you too Brie, so much."

Their bubble was broken by a few of the guys on the team chanting "kiss, kiss, kiss."

Sensing her embarrassment, he placed her back on her feet and she buried her head in his chest. He spoke up, "alright guys that's enough."

Chad complained, "oh come on Captain, you just won the championships, the triple win. The least she could do is kiss you as a reward, the absolute least."

He heard Gabriella's sharp intake of breath and he softly rubbed her back in an attempt to soothe her worries before he turned to Chad and the team. "What's going on between me and my girlfriend is none of your business."

"Oh come on Captain, you know -"

"Chad."

The tone of that one word told Chad not to push it, he nodded slightly and walked off. Troy sighed and he kissed Gabriella's forehead. Before he could speak, Jack did. "Ella, Sweetie, do you mind if I could borrow Troy, I'd like to talk to the team?"

She looked up to find the whole team surrounding them, the rest of the gym empty. "Umm sure D- Jack." She went to walked away but Troy pulled her back.

He whispered in her ear, "meet me around the corner from the locker rooms?"

She nodded before he let her walk away, turning his attention to his dad. "Well guys, I'm proud of you. You secured yourselves the triple win and you should all be extremely proud. It's sad to say that for some of you, that was your last championship game, your last game in a wildcat uniform, but you played a game you can look back on with pride. You all worked extremely well as a team, you worked hard, leaving everything on that court and you deserved that win. Now I'll leave up to Troy for the last time, but after you all shower and change, see family and friends and I'll see you at the afterparty at our house."

With that Jack left and attention turned to Troy. "Well Coach pretty much summed it up everyone on this team should be proud of the game we played and for the seniors of the team, the way we played tonight is what we leave behind. We played as a tea, and I couldn't be more proud to play alongside you all. I've been the captain of this team for three years, some of you I have played with that entire time, some longer and some shorter but as we've always said, once a wildcat always a wildcat. So for our last time, Chad?"

"WHAT TEAM?"

"WILDCATS!"

"WHAT TEAM?"

"WILDCATS!"

"WILDCATS?"

"GETCHA HEAD IN THE GAME!"

With that, they all went to the locker rooms. While the others were distracted, Troy snuck off to Gabriella.

As soon as he turned the corner, he felt her arms wrap around his neck and her lips on his. He responded immediately, wrapping his arms around her waist and guiding her back until she was gently pinned against the wall. When they broke apart, she leaned her forehead against his shoulder, mumbling. "I'm sorry."

"For what Angel, you haven't done anything."

"With what Chad said, I -"

He interrupted her with a kiss. "Don't listen to Chad, he doesn't know what he's talking about and he doesn't think before he speaks. There's no reason for you to be sorry for not kissing me in front of the team; you don't like PDA and neither do I."

"But he said it's the least I could do."

He caressed her cheek. "Baby, you don't listen to what Chad says, it's more than enough for me. I'm happy with where we are and when you decide you want more, we'll do it together but don't rush yourself, we have all the time the world. And I definitely don't want you to do it just to make me happy because Brie, you don't need to, I'm more than happy with how we are and how we are behind closed doors. There's no pressure Baby, I promise."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm 100% positive Baby Girl. Look at how far you've come already, you used to be hesitant with any form of contact and now you're comfortable with being on my lap when we make out, you've done well Baby, there's no pressure."

She blushed. "Thanks Troy, I love you so much Wildcat."

"I love you too my Beautiful Girl, I love you so much." He leaned in to kiss her passionately. "I should probably go change, meet you at my house?"

"Definitely, see you there Wildcat." She said pecking his lips.

"See you there Baby."
