A/N: Hey all! I hope you are enjoying reading! I JUST realized why my line breaks in the chapters were not working and I would likely to profusely apologize for not realizing sooner! That being said, every chapter from here on out will have a line break. I will be working on going back to previous chapters as I can!

16: Exams and Fights

The next couple weeks of January went by with the students falling back into their routines. Additionally Lexi had been taking classes with Dumbledore every Monday as he had instructed. She had not successfully kept him out of her mind yet which got a little awkward the number of times they had ended on a memory of Sirius. Mostly she was nursing headaches every Monday night. She had yet to have another vision though.

The fifth years were busy with the impending doom of O.W.L.s. Lily and Remus were often patrolling or studying with Lexi. James and Sirius were often at quidditch practice preparing for the upcoming match against Hufflepuff. Lexi had been getting a lot of alone time. If she wouldn't be working on school work she was hiding somewhere preparing songs for the summer. Though Dumbledore insisted she practice 'clearing her mind.' She was fifteen, how was she supposed to do that?

She and Sirius had been civil but were only around each other when one of the others were with them. Lexi wouldn't let them be alone. It was now a week into February and the weather turned rainy but was getting warmer.

Lexi was sitting in a corner of the common room alone. Her books and notes were sprawled all over the table she was at as she worked on an essay. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun. Her button up was undone some, her tie was hanging over her collar undone. Her skirt was hiked up some due to her legs being crossed. She had kicked off her shoes and was biting her lip in concentration. Remus and Lily were on Patrol. She had no clue where the other Marauders were but wasn't concerned as long as they left her alone. There were a few other students scattered around the commons. She had been working on the same essay for two hours and wasn't getting far. It was his fault. She ran into him earlier that day in a corridor.

XXXX

"Red," she heard Sirius' voice and heard his footsteps as he fell into pace with her as she walked.

"Black," she said shortly.

"C'mon, Lex don't be like that," he stopped her grabbing her hand. "I told you I missed you being around."

"I told you that you have a funny way of showing it," she glared at him and left him standing in the corridor alone.

XXXX

Lily had told her she was being ridiculous. Lily had seemingly gotten more annoyed with them not talking than usual this time. Lexi had tried questioning her about it but all she would say is, "Maybe you just have the wrong idea." Lexi jumped as someone pulled out a chair and joined her at the table. She looked up to see Sirius smiling at her.

"Black," she commented before trying to read the line in her book again. He watched her for a moment before leaning over and closing the book. "What the-"

"C'mon, I'm sure you've been here forever," he chuckled. "Let's go do something."

"Like what, curfew is in," she looked at her watch, "an hour."

"Since when do you care about curfew," he challenged.

"I told you on New Years," she smirked.

"Fine, stay here. I'll be back," he looked at her seriously.

"Alright," she said hesitantly. He grinned before taking off to the boys dorms. She pushed her feet back into her shoes. He was back in a few quick minutes with his school bag. He walked back over to her and held out his hand to her. She took it and he pulled her out of the common room. When they got to an empty corridor he pulled her behind a statue. He pulled the invisibility cloak out and covered them

"James will murder me if you know about this, so just keep it quiet," he winked at her before pulled out a blank folded piece of parchment from his bag.

"I solemnly swear I'm up to no good," Sirius muttered tapping his wand to the paper. Suddenly a very detailed map appeared on it. She noticed moving dots with names on it.

"What-"

"Not here," he chuckled quietly and pulled her closer to him as they started walking slowly and quietly. Lexi had to think about every step she took. Being this close to him was intoxicating. Sirius pulled her through a few different passages until suddenly he pulled her against a wall as they heard voices. They were stuck close together, their chests touching as his arms held her close so the cloak wouldn't move off of them.

"I just don't know Rem. He's got such a big ego. He's fine if we are alone," Lily sighed as they saw her and Remus walk around the corner into the corridor they were in.

"He and Sirius both have that issue. They just don't get how to express their feelings well," Remus chuckled. Lexi smirked up at Sirius who pulled a face. She had to clap a hand on her mouth to keep from laughing.

"We've noticed. The party was just so damn nice," Lily smiled. They were getting closer to where Lexi and Sirius were hiding. "Why did Sirius have to go mess up with Lex again? It would have been nice to stop their… well whatever you want to call it."

"Well, Lexi has a lot of pride. She's stubborn," Remus smirked. Lexi blushed and glanced at Sirius who was smiling down at her. The pair of Prefects passed them but Remus stopped slightly and turned. His eyes locked on them under the cloak. Lexi's eyes went wide and her mouth dropped. She looked down to make sure their feet were covered. When she looked back at him he had a smile tugging at his lips.

"Rem, you good," Lily asked several paces ahead of him. He winked at the two under the cloak before going to catch up with her.

"Yeah, just thought I heard something. Thought maybe it was Peeves," He explained away.

"There's no one out here, let's just get back to the commons," Lily sighed and they left the corridor.

"C'mon," Sirius said and they continued the way Lily and Remus had come from. They finally reached a corridor on the seventh floor that was empty other than a painting of Trolls trying to learn Ballet. Sirius looked at the map a moment before pulling the cloak off of them. He began to pace in front of the blank wall.

"What are you doing," she sighed, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes. Suddenly a door began to appear on the wall. "Whoa," she gasped. Sirius smirked and pushed the door open for her. She walked in and was blown away to see a studio space. There were a few guitars, a piano, a board, and a few mics.

"This is the Room of Requirement. It will turn into whatever you need or want," he smiled as she walked over and played a few keys on the piano.

"How did you find this," she looked at him in astonishment.

"That's a Marauder's secret," he chuckled.

"Oh come on, I'm basically one of you," she tried.

"James will murder me," he shook his head.

"Fine, I will find out eventually," she smirked.

"I figured you might like to use it to help you get ready for this summer," Sirius said quietly after a moment of silence.

"Thanks," she smiled at him. "So what is the map," she pointed to the paper still in his hand.

"The Marauders Map," he chuckled, spreading it out on top of the piano. She walked over next to him to look at it. It was a full map of the castle. There were little dots with names moving around the map. "It shows where everyone on the castle grounds is."

"Bloody brilliant," she enthused, flipping through the pages finding Gryffindor tower. She saw Lily, James, Remus, and Peter gathered in the common room.

"So Evans' does have a crush on Prongs," he laughed, remembering what Lily and Remus had been talking about.

"I'm not saying a word," she chuckled.

"Fine, I'll find out eventually," he teased.

"You mean like how Remus is a werewolf," she smirked. His jaw dropped in shock.

"Wha-how-when," he stuttered out.

"Lily and I figured it out in third year," she laughed. "He could smell us under the cloak couldn't he?"

"Yeah, he always can," Sirius laughed.

"What we can't figure out is why you three also disappear," she eyed him suspiciously as she leaned on the piano close to him.

"Well, since you're so smart, I'm sure you'll figure that one out," he winked as his eyes drifted down to her exposed cleavage..

"Let me guess, James will murder you," she rolled her eyes and moved to sit at the piano bench.

"Only to raise me from the dead and do it again," Sirius laughed.

"Fine, Black, keep your secrets," she began playing the piano. He watched her while she played. She had a strand of hair that had fallen into her face from her bun, he wanted to tuck it behind her ear, but he didn't want to cross the line they were clearly dancing on. She stopped playing and looked up at him. "What," she blushed slightly when she caught him staring.

"Sorry for writing all the songs about you, huh," he smirked. They hadn't actually talked about the song she had played at the Gala.

"It's just a song, Sirius," she smiled slightly.

"Your eyes said something different when you were singing it," he smiled, making her blush more.

"You wish, Black," she smiled, shaking her head.

"Moony is right, you are stubborn," he laughed.

"Don't forget it."

"So can we stop avoiding each other at least," he asked sitting next to her on the bench. She fought to suppress the shudder as his leg touched hers. He still had a smile on his lips but his tone was serious.

"I don't see why we shouldn't," she smiled back at him.

"Good, I need my best cheerleader on my side for this game coming up," he winked.

"Jamie plays on the team with you," she teased, making him laugh.

"So how are the lessons with Dumbledore?"

"Exhausting," she sighed. "I've come close but he still breaks through."

"Have you been "clearing your mind?"" He was giving her a smirk.

"Yes," she grinned. "As much as a fifteen year old girl with a pending record deal, school, and still coping with her parents deaths can."

"Fair point," Sirius sighed, plinking a few keys. "I can imagine it's not easy."

"Lily says most people don't move on to studying Occlumency until they pick their careers, sometimes not even then. It's very rare."

"I can't imagine many need it unless it's a special circumstance."

"Some Aurors do."

"Do you know if your parents were trained in it," he watched her carefully when he asked.

"They were, I asked him," she nodded, her eyes still glued to the piano. They were quiet for a moment until, "Oh," Lexi said the single syllable excitedly and began to smile. "Watch this." She held her hand out towards the guitar sitting in a stand. It floated up as if a ghost was holding it and it began playing on it's own. She smiled over at him as his jaw dropped. It played for a few minutes before placing itself back on the stand.

"Merlin, Red. When did you get that good," he beamed at her.

"It's been part of my lessons. Dumbledore thinks that the more I use wandless magic the more under control it is. Kind of like an outlet."

"He said that about you doing magic in general last year," Sirius said slightly concerned.

"Well, he has changed his theory after the eye glow started happening still. It's new, even to him," she shrugged. They stayed and talked for a while longer barely using the studio. Lexi finally yawned a few hours later.

"Let's get you to bed, Red," Sirius grinned. She gave him a funny look. "I meant, get you back to your dorm. Unless you had something else in mind," he laughed and winked.

"You wish, Black," she purred. That tone made his breath hitch. He smirked as they got ready to leave under the cloak again. They uncovered themselves once they reached the common room. Thanks to the Map they knew it was empty. Lexi's things were already packed up and her bag was sitting on the chair. She grabbed it and looked back over at Sirius who had been watching her quietly.

"Goodnight, Black," she smiled.

"Goodnight, Red," he grinned before she left up to her dorm. He smiled widely before making his way up to his dorm.

The next morning Lexi told Lily what had happened minus the cloak and map. She had always kept the Marauder secrets when asked, plus she didn't need Lily going full on prefect. Lily had still been apprehensive about the amount of rules they had broken but Lexi just ignored her.

"I may have told him that we knew about Rem, too," Lexi added as they walked to their next class.

"Merlin, Lex," Lily gasped.

"What, it just kind of came out. Plus I tried getting him to tell me what they do."

"And?"

"Nothing. James will murder him supposedly."

"So do you think he's trying to date you," Lily asked.

"I don't know. Right now I don't even want to think about it going that way," Lexi sighed.

"I mean, maybe he is finally growing up," Lily laughed.

"He's got a long way to go," Lexi chuckled, rolling her eyes. "So are you going to say yes to James about the Valentines Hogsmeade?"

"Is he going to ask," Lily sounded shocked.

"He always asks, Lil," Lexi laughed. "Are you going to say yes?"

"No, it's going to take more than one night," she sighed.

"So stop riding me about Sirius, then," Lexi teased. They joined the que outside of their Herbology class.

"What do you think they've been whispering about all day," James asked his friends as he watched Lily and Lexi walk quickly to Herbology ahead of them.

"I have an idea, do you Padfoot," Remus grinned slyly.

"Might have something to do with last night," Sirius chuckled.

"What happened last night," James raised an eyebrow. He looked nauseous as Sirius opened his mouth to say something. "Changed my mind. I don't want to know," James started shaking his head.

"We just talked, Prongs," Sirius let out a barking laugh.

"Is that where you had disappeared last night," Peter smirked.

"Yeah, we went to the Room of Requirement."

"Padfoot," James said warningly.

"Don't worry, mate," Sirius lowered his voice. "I didn't tell her anything."

"Good, I don't want her and Lily-" Remus started.

"Oh they already know, Moony," Sirius smirked.

"What," he, James, and Peter hissed in shock.

"She said they figured it out in our third year."

"Does that mean they know-"James began questioning.

"No, she said they hadn't figured it out."

"Merlin, I guess I should talk to them," Remus sighed.

"Don't let them know Moony. Last thing we need is them on us," James warned Remus.

"I know, Prongs. We all decided it was safer," Remus agreed. They joined the girls in the queue outside of the greenhouse.

"Hey, Red," Sirius smirked at her.

"Black," she gave a small smile.

"You two have seemed chatty today," he winked at her.

"Nice try," she laughed.

"I guess the three of us will be talking later," Remus said warily to the girls.

"There's nothing to talk about Rem," Lily smiled at him.

"We've known for two years. Have we treated you any differently," Lexi hugged him. The door opened and Madame Sprout welcomed them in.

A week later Lexi and Lily were getting ready for the match. The Valentine's Hogsmeade trip was tomorrow. James had in fact asked Lily by yelling his request in the Entrance Hall after dinner last Friday. She had told him no. Lexi had a few Ravenclaw boys ask her but she had turned them down, having no real interest after Lily had heard Caden a few weeks ago.

"So are you ready for tomorrow," Lily asked as they walked to lunch before the match.

"Yes, it's very much needed," Lexi grinned. They walked into the Great Hall and easily found the Marauder's.

"I'm shocked you two are still here," Lily quipped as she started getting food.

"We've got time. Folles is still here," James gestured down the table.

"Besides we had practice every night this last week prepping. If we win we are choice for the Cup," Sirius grinned as he high fived James.

"So nothing new," Lexi teased with a smirk.

"I like that confidence, Red," he beamed at her.

"Lexi," she turned to see a brunette boy from Ravenclaw.

"Jordan," she said, her smirk still in place as she took a bite of food.

"Are you going with anyone to Hogsmeade tomorrow," he asked, plastering on a charming smile.

"Nope," she said, her tone playful. Sirius was eyeing the seventh year angrily and missed the eye roll she shared with Lily. James and Remus grinned knowing what was about to happen. Lexi and Lily had told them what was going on with the Ravenclaw boys.

"Well, how about you go with me," the seventeen year old asked.

"Hmm, that's such a nice suggestion, Jordan," Lexi said just a little too sweetly. Sirius looked at her face seeing the familiar look of mischief in her eyes. "But I think I need you to tell me why you so suddenly wanted to ask me," she placed a hand under her chin resting her elbow on the table.

"Oh, well, uh...I just thought-" he stumbled, clearly thrown by her response.

"You just thought after you heard Filroy blabbing his mouth that you'd have a go," she questioned, lazily checking her nails.

"N-no, I had heard but-"

"Sod off, Hampton, and let the rest of your house know that the next Ravenclaw to ask me out will be hexed," she rolled her eyes and turned back to her friends. Jordan left quickly back to his table looking embarrassed.

"Nicely done, Lex," James cheered high fiving her.

"What was that about, Red," Sirius laughed.

"A few weeks ago in a corridor I heard Filroy running his mouth about-" Lily started.

"Can we not recount what was said," James groaned, cutting her off.

"Grow up, James," Lexi rolled her eyes.

"I don't need or want to hear it still."

"Anyway, Filroy was discussing some activities of ours from when we were together," Lexi continued ignoring James. Sirius' eyes snapped angrily over to the Ravenclaw table. "Ever since Valentines Day has been coming I've only had Ravenclaw boys asking me out," Lexi added angrily stabbing her food.

"So you're not going with anyone tomorrow then," Sirius asked her slowly, turning his attention back to her.

"Nope, Lily and I are having a girls day," the girls high fived.

"Looks like it's time to go," James said, starting to stand as the rest of the team did.

"Good luck," Lexi winked at Sirius as he got up and jogged after the team.

"Well, well, what was that," Remus chuckled.

"Shove off," Lexi smiled.

The next few months flew by bringing warm weather and their Exams closer. Gryffindor had won the cup leading to another party in the common room. Lexi and Sirius had sang together much to the joy of their house were now into May and were in the last few weeks before their O.W.L.s would take place. Lily and Lexi had fallen into helping Remus as much as possible coming up on the full moon and after. The last one was a few days ago on Thursday. Lily and Lexi had just dropped off notes to him from the Friday classes and made their way out to the grounds by the lake. It was a warm sunny Saturday and most of the school was outside. They made their way to sit by the edge of the water away from others.

"He was looking a little rough," Lexi commented as she adjusted her guitar in her lap.

"It was just two nights ago," Lily sighed, laying out and putting on sunglasses. She had borrowed a pair of shorts from Lexi and was wearing a pale pink t-shirt.

"The boys seemed pretty worn out yesterday too," Lexi challenged.

"Sirius still hasn't spilled?"

"Nope, and I tried on Wednesday," Lexi sighed and began strumming on her guitar.

"You don't think they are going with him do you," Lily asked after a few minutes of Lexi playing. MLexi plucked a sour chord and laughed.

"We've discussed this several times before. They can't be that dense."

"You're right," Lily giggled.

"Ladies," they looked over to see James, Peter, and Sirius walking towards them. Sirius had his guitar case with him.

"I would say Gentlemen, but that doesn't seem right," Lexi teased, tapping a finger on her chin thoughtfully.

"Merlin, Red," Sirius laughed sitting next to her. She noticed him wince and cautiously adjust his arm so it didn't take his weight as he finished sitting.

"Peter is a gentleman," Lily added.

"True, my apologies, Sir Peter," Lexi said dramatically rolling her wrist and giving a dramatic seated bow.

"All is forgiven, my lady," Peter laughed.

"Did you lot see Rem," Lily asked.

"Yeah, he said we had just missed you two," James grinned. James, Lily, and Peter started talking about the end of term while Sirius watched Lexi's fingers move on her guitar. He started mimicking what she was playing and she gave him a small smile. She looked back down at her hands. She was wearing a black tank top and jean shorts. Her wavy Auburn hair was pulled into a high ponytail. They had been spending a lot of time in the Room of Requirement together, playing in the studio space and talking. They had started to get along better than ever. They were still dancing on the line.

"Are you alright," she asked him, gesturing to his arm. The others were too involved in their own conversation.

"Eh, it's no big deal," he winked at her.

"How's studying for O.W.L.s going," Lexi asked after a moment.

"Going, I guess," he chuckled.

"How did your career talk with McGonagall go?"

"Pretty well actually, how was yours," he grinned. They were still playing. He had started harmonizing his playing with hers.

"Good, though I'm still not sure what I'd want to do other than music. Mum and Dad were Aurors, Auntie was a healer, I don't have much interest in working in the Regulations office like Uncle," she sighed. "What are you going for?"

"An Auror, there's nothing else I'd rather do than lock up Dark Wizard's," he said a little bitterly. Lexi knew about Sirius' family, if he could put people away like them he could make up for what they had done.

"You'd be good at it," she said with a smile.

"Oi, are you two gonna sing or just play," James asked them, pulling their attention back to their company.

"What d'you think," Sirius smirked at her.

"I guess we'll give them a show," a grin grew on her lips as she stopped playing.

"Ooo, do Fast Car," Lily said excitedly. Lexi and Sirius chuckled.

"As the Lady wishes," Sirius grinned and started playing.

"Oh I hope I don't forget anything," Lily fretted as they waited for their Charms Practical.

"Calm down, Evans," James laughed as he leaned against the entrance hall wall.

"I wonder how, Black is doing," Lexi said, trying to peep through the crack of the Great Hall doors.

"Worried about him, Lex," Remus quipped with a grin.

"No, I just," she blushed, "shove off, Rem."

"Just admit it, Lexi," James laughed.

"I thought you opposed it, Potter," Lily giggled.

"She could be going after worse," James grumbled. The Great Hall door opened and a few more names were called as a few students left, including Sirius. Lily's name was called and she squeaked before rushing forward.

"S'not bad," he whispered, walking over to them. One of the monitors in the hall was watching them closely. "Meet you lot in the courtyard?"

"Sounds good," James said before he left.

"I think McGonagall told them to watch us," Lexi giggled.

"Do you blame her," Remus laughed. Lexi's name was called with a few others.

"Good luck," James called as she entered the Great Hall.

Lexi finished scribbling the last of her essay. She read over what she had written then set her quill down. She looked at the clock. There were five minutes left. She looked over to see James staring at Lily ruffling his hair. She rolled her eyes with a smile tugging her lips. Her eyes then fell on Sirius next to her. He was kicked back on two legs in his chair, his arms crossed over his chest. He smiled at her and nudged his thumb towards a boy with long greasy hair. His nose was almost on his parchment as he wrote. Severus Snape. Lexi rolled her eyes at Sirius and pulled a grossed out face. He smiled widely and tried to cover his laugh with a cough. She looked back at her test quickly to be sure they hadn't been seen.

"Time. Quills down," the little wizard conducting the exam said. The students watched as their exams flew forward stacking neatly on the table. They then gathered up their things and began to leave. Lexi waited for Lily.

"I hope I got the pixie names straight," Lily said nervously.

"It's over Lil, can't we just relax," Lexi groaned.

"Alright," Lily sighed. The girls made their way out to the grounds to the lake. "We still have Transfiguration."

"Lily," Lexi exclaimed laughing. "We'll study after dinner!"

"I'll stop," Lily gave a shy smile. They found a sunny patch of grass by the lake and sat. They discarded their cloaks and bags.

"Bloody hell, where did James get a snitch," Lexi chuckled looking over at the boys under the tree as she undid her tie.

"Show off," Lily rolled her eyes but smiled. "Sirius is staring again."

"Big shock," Lexi laughed. She turned and winked at him. He flushed and looked away.

"Is he going to be at your place this summer?"

"I'm not sure actually. We haven't talked about it. Exams made it kind of hard to find time to talk. We've mostly been working on music."

"James hasn't said anything either?"

"Nope. You're still coming in time for my birthday though right?"

"Of course," Lily grinned. "We're going to be sixteen!"

"All right, Snivellus," they heard James' loud voice.

"Merlin," the girls groaned in unison. They watched as Snape went for his wand but was quickly disarmed by James. Sirius barked laughter. James and Sirius moved in wands on Snape. Students began to gather and watch. Snape was knocked to his feet.

"The test go alright for you," James teased. He looked over at the two of them and messed up his hair. Lily's eyes narrowed as he looked back to the boy. They heckled him more until he was swearing at them.

"Wash your mouth out Snivvy," James said. He shouted a spell and bubbles started streaming from his mouth. Lily was up and running towards them before Lexi was even off the ground.

"Leave him ALONE," Lily shouted, pushing through the circle of students. Lexi jogged up behind her.

"What's wrong Evans," James tried charming her.

"Leave him alone, Potter," she glowered. "He hasn't done anything to you."

"Just the fact that he exists-"

"You're just an arrogant bully, Potter. Leave him alone."

"I will if you go out with me, Evans," James smirked. Lexi scoffed loudly and crossed her arms. "Go out with me and I'll leave Snivellus alone."

"I wouldn't date you if it was the choice of you or the Giant Squid," Lily crossed her arms.

"Good try, Prongs," Sirius chuckled, turning back to Snape. "Oi!" It was too late. A curse was going at James and his face was cut open. Blood splattered onto his uniform. He cried out in pain and placed his wand free hand on his cheek. He blindly shot a spell back at Snape. He was lifted into the air by an ankle.

"Put him down," Lily shouted.

"Fine," James said bitterly and dropped Snape to the ground in a heap. Sirius pointed his wand at the greasy boy.

"Petrificus Totalus!"

"Leave him alone," Lily snapped again this time stepping between them and Snape.

"Lily," Lexi tried.

"Don't make me hex you, Evans," James warned.

"Then let him go," Lily threatened pulling out her own wand. James sighed and released Snape from the spell.

"You're lucky Evans was here," James glowered at the other boy. He looked crazed with the blood on his face.

"I don't need help from a Mudblood," Snape spat. Lily's face went blank. Lexi's mouth fell open, James and Sirius looked furious.

"Fine," Lily's voice sounded colder than they had ever heard before. "Next time I won't bother, Snivellus," she turned on her heel and stormed back to the castle.

"Deal with this then get to the hospital," Lexi gave Snape a dirty look before looking angrily at James and Sirius. Her eyes flashed then took off after Lily.

Lexi was sitting in the corner of the common room quietly reading. Remus and Peter were playing Wizards Chess. Lily was up in the dorm hiding still after earlier. James and Sirius were watching Lexi nervously. Her eyes would glance up every so often to see the other students left in the common room.

"Well," James said after an hour of this. "I think I'm go-"

"You aren't going anywhere," she glowered at him from over the top of her book, her eyes holding the faint glow. He shrunk back into his chair and none of them dared move. Finally the last of the Gyrffindors cleared out. They heard the distant door close. James and Sirius shared a wide-eyed look and gulped. Lexi slowly set her book down, stood up, and started pacing.

"Lexi," Remus spoke carefully.

"What in the bloody hell was that about," she hissed. Her eyes looked like blue flames, her voice was full of anger but her composure was very calm. James opened his mouth to answer. "No. I don't want to hear whatever bollock excuse you have. I want to know why you even started anything. I want to know what the purpose of tormenting him was." Her eyes flicked between them. They were looking down. "Someone will give me an answer." There was silence as they shared a sideways glance.

"Are you two really that childish," Remus sighed. Lexi turned on him.

"I had better hopes of you to stop them from doing this dumb shit," she crossed her arms. "What started it," she now asked him. He looked back over to James and Sirius. "C'mon gents," she rolled her eyes. "We didn't hear Snape say a damned thing to you. In fact he wasn't bothering anyone." She looked around at all four. "Peter." He audibly squeaked.

"I-I uh-it-it w-was," he started sputtering looking at the others for help.

"It was me Red," Sirius finally grumbled. Her eyes snapped to him and he winced. "I-I said I was bored and," his eyes flicked to James who sighed.

"I saw Snivellius and suggested we mess with him," James mumbled.

"You realize what happened to Lily is your fault too, right," she took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of her nose. "If you would have left him alone, she wouldn't have gotten involved, he wouldn't have called her that." They both looked down again. "And using it as a way to get a date, Potter? Tactless," she shook her head. "Basically, grow the hell up. Next time I'm sending you all to the hospital wing and it will be an extended visit. I haven't decided if I'll use my wand or not." She grabbed her book and stormed off to her dorm.

"Blood hell," James sighed.

"I've never seen her that mad before," Remus whispered.

"Welcome to her bad side," Sirius gave a small chuckle.

"Her eyes are scary," Peter whimpered.

"We're bloody lucky she's gotten good at her control," James winced.

The next morning Lexi and Lily were studying in the common room before their last exam.

"I just can't believe that Tosser," Lily grumbled, closing her book sharply.

"I can't either," Lexi sighed.

"Hey Lexi, hey, Lily," Tamara Diggle, another fifth year girl came over to their table.

"Hey Tamara," they greeted.

"Lexi, I just wanted to make sure you heard before everyone starts gossiping," she said nervously.

"Hear what," Lexi asked, amused.

"Well, Sirius and Filroy were just in a pretty big row in the fourth floor corridor. Filroy saw Sirius snogging with Sharon Opal, they had just broken up a week ago," Lexi nodded numbly. She felt stupid for being shocked to hear Sirius was snogging some other girl. "Anyway, Filroy yelled about how Sirius keeps stealing his 'girls' and he was sick of it. He said some foul things about you and Sirius hexed him. Filroy is in the hospital but everyone is talking about how you and Sirius have a thing."

"Oh goodey," Lexi groaned. "Thanks for the heads up."

"No problem. See you in the exam later," she left up to the girls dorm.

"Bloody hell," Lily muttered. "Did you know he was still out, well, being him," Lily asked quietly.

"No, but it's not my business," Lexi said a little bitterly.

"Are you going to talk to him about it?"

"No," she avoided Lily's eyes and went back to her notes.

Over the next few days Lexi studied with Lily and helped her avoid James. Lexi only saw the guys when Lily had gone to bed. She acted like she hadn't heard anything about what had happened between Sirius and Caden. None of the others mentioned it either. Now it was the last night at Hogwarts. James, Lexi, and Sirius were the only ones still in the common room. James had fallen asleep in his chair.

"Well, pay up, Black," She smirked over at him.

"What are you talking about," he chuckled.

"We wagered that James and Lily would stop fighting. I think the other day by the lake proves I was right," she held a hand out.

"Damn, I guess you're right. I'll pay you in the morning, Red," he smiled at her. She rolled her eyes smiling as well and dropped her arm down.

"So you're not coming for summer," Lexi asked, slightly disappointed looking at Sirius.

"Mum says I need to come home," he said bitterly.

"Maybe you can try after a few weeks," she tried to comfort him.

"Well, see," he muttered.

"Lily's coming for my birthday."

"We'll I can't miss out on that can I," he gave her a wolfish smile.
