Elena moved away from Alaric's desk as Sabrina and a herd of students walked into his class room. The students all took their seat as Alaric made his way in front of the blackboard, eyes not leaving Sabrina who placed her bag on the ground before sitting down on one of the desks at the front.

Alaric cleared his throat and turned his attention back to his class. "Uh, we have Miss Hayden sitting in to observe our class today," he told them.

Sabrina gave a small smile to the students as she looked back at them.

"Miss Hayden is responsible for most of your teaching material so, behave and show her what a wonderful class you are or else she might decide to have you all learning about memorial benches for the rest of the semester," he said with a smile of pretence before starting the lesson.

Sabrina filled in the relevant sections on her observation forms as the class went on.

The bell soon rang indicating the end of the lesson. As the students hurried out of the classroom for their next class, Sabrina divided up the papers she needed to keep and the ones she needed to give to Alaric.

Shoving her copies into her bag she walked over to Alaric who was finishing up talking to a student. Once the teenager was gone she handed him the pile of papers.

"All my preliminary notes are in there," she explained to him as the last few students walked out.

"You'll need to schedule a meeting so the notes can be discussed. Call my office and have someone arrange a time. Someone will most likely have to cover for me in the meeting since I have one more of your classes to review in addition to 4 more classes, but I'll give them my feedback and any questions you have you can email me."

"Sabrina,"

"Yes, Mr. Saltzman?"

Alaric knew he wasn't going to get anything from her at the current moment. He fumbled over his hesitation before letting it go.

"Thank you. Hope the class was everything you expected." She nodded before walking out of the classroom.

Later that evening Sabrina was back in her room. She needed something to do so she opted to cleaning out her draws and cupboard.

Piles of clothes and hangers covered her bed as she neatly folded her tops and trousers and hung up her dresses.

"I can't-I can't breathe! What's happening to me?"

"You're not invited in."

"Then get me out of here."

"I'll tell you. Not here. Can I trust you?"

"Can I trust you?"

Folding the sleeves of the t-shirt that was in her hands she pondered on the vision she had. It told her she would see Elijah again. But it didn't make it anymore easier.

A knock at her door interrupted her. The timing of the evening would suggest that Jenna as home and she more than welcomed the company.

"Come in." It wasn't Jenna, instead stood her niece.

Sabrina turned her attention back to her clothes. "What is it you want?"

"Bonnie, Caroline and I were having a sort of girls' night at the grill and we invited Jenna," she explained. "We thought you might like to come as well."

Sabrina sighed placing the folded top into one of the dresser draws. "Why are you talking to me?"

"Because girls' night wouldn't be girl's night without you," she replied with a small shrug.

"No. I mean why are you talking to me?" she repeated putting emphasis on 'you'.

"I meant what I said," Sabrina continued, reminding the Gilbert girl of what she said yesterday.

"I know."

"I still mean it."

"You meant what you said in the moment," she told her. "Damon was right, you were angry and upset but I know deep down you don't hate me."

Sabrina didn't answer.

"If you won't come because of me, come for Jenna," she said before walking away from the door.

The five girls walk into the Mystic Grill. They walked in through the crowds of people who were gathered near the main stage watching a band perform.

Jenna's head turned as she saw Alaric walk into the Grill.

"I need a drink," she said before turning to walk away.

Caroline's attention fell on Matt who is was making his way around the Grill. "Hey Matt," Caroline greeted as he walked by.

"Things just got real awkward." Commented Bonnie as he walked past the cheerful blonde.

Sabrina inhaled deeply before exhaling. She looked around the establishment, if she was out of her mood she still wouldn't enjoy this. Eyes darting around the crowded room, they locked into Jenna and Alaric chatting at the bar. Jenna took a shot of tequila not really bothering with a conversation.

Sabrina made her way over to them just as Jenna got up to leave, Alaric stood up getting ready to chase her.

"I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to talk to you right now," she told him as he sat back down on the barstool. Sabrina joined him, asking the bartender for a few more shots.

"Don't do this Brina," he said to her as she drank the contents in the glass.

"Be a bit more specific,"

"God, you're like a vampire with their emotions switched off." He muttered

"I know your angry," he began when she didn't reply and instead took a shot of tequila.

"Don't start Ric." She heard this too many times now, it was starting to get annoying.

"You never call me Ric," he said, slightly caught off guard.

The Grill was silence for a moment as Caroline took to the stage. Sabrina placed the second shot glass down on the table, she knew this wouldn't end unless she spoke to one of them about it. As Caroline began singing she turned back to Alaric.

"What do you want?"

"Things to go back to normal between us."

"You should have thought about that before you plunged a dagger into Elijah," she said with a sneer.

"We can't keep doing this. Jenna is going to start knowing something isn't right."

"That sounds like a you problem." Third shot.

"I need your help Sabrina, or else I'm going to lose Jenna."

"Why should I care?" She turned in her chair taking a fourth and final shot before looking at him.

"Jenna's your best friend and with the amount of teasing I get from you I imagine that you like us together."

Sabrina was silent.

"Damon and I are also your friends." Sabrina's silence continued. "Believe me when I say he understands what you going through and yes, he did it for Elena, but you can't blame him when you're willing to risk it all for Elijah."

Alaric had made a fair point, one that Sabrina didn't know how to argue against. Alaric could see the hesitation in her face and ordered another round of tequila.

Once the tray was brought over to them Alaric picked up two glasses and held one to Sabrina who took it after another slight hesitation.

"You know I'm right," he said downing his drink then looked at her.

Sabrina held it in her hand for a while before doing the same. she closed her eyes as the liquid burned down her throat. Opening her eyes just as bulbs started to break in the Grill pulling the place into darkness.

Both of them moved from the bar to find Jenna.

Once they located her Alaric began to lead them out.

"I think it's time we get out of here," he said.

"I have to find Elena," Jenna told him

"She's with Stefan, she's okay." Sabrina reassured.

The three of them followed the rush of people out of the Grill.

"Take Jenna home," she instructed Alaric as she began to walk away.

Jenna grabbed hold of her wrist stopping her.

"Where are you going?" she asked as more people ran out of the Grill.

She looked at Alaric as Jenna released her grip. "You were right." She proceeded onto walk.

It took a while for Sabrina to get to the Salvatore's on foot. After knocking on the door she waited for someone on the other side to open it. It wasn't a long wait as Damon opened up with surprised look on his face.

"Sabrina."

"Hello."

There was an awkward tension between them.

"I would invite you in but Katherine is here and you know how she is." Sabrina caught onto the excuse.

"I think Katherine and I have gotten to a point where we can tolerate each other." He gave her one of his sarcastic smiles before pushing the door open a little wider allowing her in.

"No." She held out her hand, not walking into the house. "I just need to say what I need to say and I'll leave."

"I understand why you did what you did." Her words along with the sincerity of it took him back a little.

"The way I acted towards you was out of anger and it was because I was upset." she took a pause and repeated what she had said to Alaric. "And, you were right."

"I didn't purposely try to hurt you, Brina." It was rare to hear the soft tone come from Damon but Sabrina was privy to it on special occasions.

"I know." she inhaled deeply. "While I do understand, it will take me some time to accept it." Damon nodded.

Sabrina bit her lip before trying to confirm her earlier vision. "His body is in the cell in the basement isn't it?"

There was no way that Damon could compel her to forget if he told her the truth, or compel her to promise not to take the dagger out. They learnt a while back that compulsion didn't work on her.

"We brought it in after you left."

"Okay," she let out in a soft breath.

"Well, good night them, Damon."

"Good night, Brina." She turned to walk away as he shut the door.

"Hey," Sabrina dropped her bag the far end of the countertop and sat down opposite Jenna. Who was sat near the kitchen counter eating ice cream out of the container.

"You look-" Jenna began.

"Don't start."

"Ice cream?"

"Please." Jenna pulled out a spoon from the draw beside her and handed it to her.

"You talked to Alaric?" she asked taking a spoon full of ice cream.

"hmm," Jenna hummed, pulling the spoon out of her mouth.

"And..."

She sighed. "I don't know." Sabrina didn't press on.

"How about you?"

"Making progress on getting to my good place," she told her.

Elena's footsteps came down and into the kitchen. She walked to the two women and leaned on the counter next to her aunt.

"Are John and Jeremy asleep?" Jenna asked her.

"I think so."

"If I go to bed right now, there's a chance I'll wake up hangover-free."

At sound of the doorbell caused all three of them turned their heads.

"Who's that?" Jenna left her spoon going to answer it. Elena picked it up and reached in for a scoop.

Curious at who could be at the door so late Sabrina got up and walked around the counter. She looked back at Elena who put the ice cream down. Elena got up and followed Sabrina as she walked out of the kitchen.

"I'm...Elena's mother." Confused, Jenna turned around from the door and looked past Sabrina at Elena.

"Isobel." Elena breathed out as Jenna turned back and looked at Isobel in shock.
