A/N: HI GUYS I'M STILL ALIVE! YESSSS I'M NEVER GOING TO GIVE UP REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG MY BREAKS ARE BUT I PROMISE IT WILL NEVER BE THIS LONG AGAIN. 6 MONTHS I AM SOSOSOSOSO SORRY PLEASE FORGIVE MEEEE! Anyways! Sorry, life has been hectic. I work ten hour shifts four days a week and it is DRAINING. I also had a lot of personal issues mentally and physically arising but I'm alright! All is well and goshhh I missed writing. This chapter will probably be garbage though but I promise things will be a lot better. Thanks to anyone still reading. Without you guys, there would be no this story. Thanks to the PMS, and reviews! Keep it up. I write for you guys! Thank you so much again for your support. I couldn't do it without you! Also, quick, quickkkk, update. I changed Donnie/Donovan's name. I did this because Donnie was actually the name of someone who was special to me and they are no longer apart of my life so I saw it fitting to make the change because when I look back on reading this I don't want to feel that part of my life since it's over now. Now Donnie/Donovan will be referred to as Zeke/Ezekiel. If you're a new reader you're probably like "WHAT THE HECK IS SHE TALKING ABOUT" as I have made the change in my previous chapters already. I hope it doesn't affect anyone too badly! WELL HERE WE GO HAPPY READING

Emma looked up from Zeke's chest, her eyes were puffy and red, cheeks wet with tears. Richie hated seeing her that way. He hated it. Zeke still had his arms wrapped around Emma as he sighed. Mavis looked at the older teen as he pursed his lips together. There was a pregnant pause.
"No, Richie." Zeke finally said. Richie's brave face dropped and twisted with anger and confusion.
"What the fuck? Why the hell not?" He questioned angrily. Zeke's grip on Emma tightened in a protective way. This angered the young teenage boy even more. He gritted his teeth as his hands balled into fists at his side. Zeke's eyebrows knitted together.
"Because Rich, you could get in our way. You're known for your loud mouth and we need to be in and out as quiet as possible." Zeke explained as Emma pullled herself away from him. Richie felt his heart drop. Would he really just get in their way? He said nothing but brushed past Zeke as he made his way to his bike. Picking up his bike, he could feel his eyes water. He just wanted to protect Emma, in case something happened. She had been through too much. He mounted his bike and didn't bother to look back.
"I want Richie to come," Emma mumbled. Richie's head snapped in her direction as she offered him a sad smile. He offered one back as he got off the bike, using his kickstand for once.
"What!? Emma, no. He's going to get us all caught!" Zeke argued. Emma scowled and stared at the older boy with a blank expression.
"If he can't go, no one is going, I'll just go by myself." Zeke sighed heavily as he pushed his hair back. He glanced over at Mavis who nodded eagerly. He shook his head before opening his mouth.
"If he screws this up, that's it, Emma."Zeke tried to reason. Emma crossed her arms over her chest.

"Richie may have a loud mouth but one thing Richie isn't is a screwup." She looked over at Richie and smiled. "Right, Rich?" He nodded eagerly.
"So what's the plan?"

Emma, Mavis, and Zeke waited outside, Zeke impatiently tapping his foot on the ground, looking at his watch.
"He's ten minutes late Emma. Maybe he's not coming after all. I say we just-" Zeke started but immediately stopped when Emma glared at him.
"He's coming, okay!?" She snapped. Zeke sighed and nodded as he rubbed the back of his neck. Emma looked down the street, eyebrows knitting together. "Come on, Rich," she mumbled. The group of three waited for five more minutes. Emma sighed and threw on her backpack, heading towards Zeke's car, questions flooded her mind. Why didn't he show up when he insisted on coming. Mavis squeezed Emma's shoulder, opening her door for her. Emma got in the car as Mavis and Zeke did the same.
"Emma, I'm-" Zeke started. Emma put her hand up to silence him. He sighed and started the car. He pulled out of his driveway and started down the road. Emma stared into her lap. He really didn't show. Boys were stu-
Her thoughts were interrupted when Zeke had slammed on his breaks. Emma flew into Mavis's seat, her face slamming into the back of the seat, causing her nose to leak red.
"God damn it, Ezekiel!" Emma screeched, wiping her nose with the back of her hand. "What the hell hap-" Emma looked up and noticed a terrified, panting Richie in front of the car. Zeke got out and yelled something inaudible to the girls in the car. Emma blinked a couple of times as Richie started towards the back seat, Zeke smacking him in the back of his head as he passed him. Richie got in the car still huffing and puffing, his bike nowhere to be found. He huffed and puffed, trying to catch his breath as he sat next to the brunette.
"S-sorry. I ran." He managed to get out. Emma stared at the boy in disbelief. He looked over to the girl and grinned. "Didn't think I'd show?" He questioned. Emma pursed her lips together and punched his arm. "Ow!"
"Where's your bike, Doofus!" She yelled as Zeke got back in the car.
"I had a flat!" He yelled back as he rubbed his arm.
"Shut up and let's do this!" Zeke barked causing the two to stop. "What kind of maniac runs in front of a car?" He mumbled. Mavis tried to conceal a snicker.
"Hey!" Emma pinched Richie. "Ow!" He glared at the brunette who was trying to hide her smile as Zeke began driving.
"What did I say!? Knock it off back there!" Zeke demanded as he looked in the rearview mirror at the two. He showed up. He didn't let Emma down. He ran all the way there, even with a flat. Emma smiled as she looked out the window, sneaking a few glances through the side of her eye. She now knew she could always count on the Doofus. Whenever she would need him, she knew Richie would always be there.
As the group of four approached a few houses down, Zeke turned off the car lights. Emma's leg bounced with anxiety. Richie glanced at the small girl, concerned, as she bit her nails.
"Em,you're shaking the whole car," Zeke mumbled as he looked back at the girl. He offered a sincere smile, making her stop her nail-biting. "Everything is going to be okay." Emma offered a hesitant smile but nodded. She took a deep breath and grabbed the door handle. Her heart pounded against her chest. She hadn't been in Kurt's room in a long time. What was it that she really wanted? She knew she couldn't take everything. Maybe shirts? She really wanted his guitar and notebooks he wrote songs in but would it be too much? She gripped tightly to the backpack in her lap. She closed her eyes and opened the car door. The others followed her example. They were all dressed in black, Emma took a glance at Richie and grinned.
"I miss your dumb Hawaiian shirts already, doofus." She had to lighten the mood. The anxiety was quietly taking over. Richie rolled his eyes as he flicked the girl off.
"Okay, so let me get this right, the window to your room is always open, we climb up the ladder and get in through your window but won't that make too much noise?" Zeke asked in a hushed whisper. Emma shook her head.
"Not if we're careful enough," Emma answered as the four approached the house. Emma snuck over to the side of the house with Zeke and the two grabbed the ladder she sometimes used to sneak into Eddie's room whenever the boys slept over. Zeke's grip slipped and the ladder leaned more over to Emma, almost causing her to fumble back. "Careful!" She hissed as he readjusted his grip. He nodded and mouthed a 'Sorry'. The two gently placed the ladder against Emma's window. Emma climbed up the ladder, nearly holding her breath. She placed her hand on the window and opened it as slowly and quietly as possible.
"Emma, your mom's light turned on," Richie whispered. Emma cringed slightly as she swung her left leg into the room and then her right. She looked down at the three. She stuck her head out the window and motioned for them to come up. First was Mavis and then Zeke and Richie fought over who would go next. Ultimately Zeke won since he overpowered the Trashmouth. As Richie entered the room Emma sighed out of relief.
"Drop your shoes out the window, when you step on the stairs, try to step on the center of each step," Emma whispered as she tossed her shoes out the window. Everyone nodded and did the same. She took a deep breath as she grabbed the knob to her room. She could feel the beads of sweat forming on her forehead as she slowly turned the knob. She cringed as the door slightly creaked. She shook it off and proceeded to exit the room with the other three close behind. The group of four tiptoed past Deidra's room and slinked around the top of the stairs. Emma signaled for the three to go before her. One by one they tiptoed down the steps. Emma followed behind Richie, holding her breath, hoping for the steps to not creak beneath their feet. They successfully made it down the steps. The group of four quietly let out a sigh of relief. "This way," Emma whispered as she took the lead, leading the group of four around the stairs down the hallway. There, was the closet Emma had gotten the blankets from the night of her birthday and another door. Behind that door was a room that had been untouched for what seemed like forever. Emma shut her eyes as she opened it. She opened her eyes slowly to see the familiar room. There were posters all over the walls, the bed was still made. She took a deep breath. It even smelled like him. They walked into the room and looked around as if it were the first time she had been in there. The group followed as Emma's fingers traced the dresser that had a bunch of figures on top of it. Her eyes watered. The room was obviously familiar yet felt so unfamiliar. It had been so long. Emma heard a sniffle and turned to see tears running down Mavis's face.
"It's exactly how it was back home." She mumbled. Zeke squeezed her shoulders to comfort her. She looked up at him and smiled, wiping her face. Emma looked over at Richie who just stared at the walls, adjusting his glasses. She sighed and got on the ground looking under the bed. She grabbed an empty backpack and looked at Mavis. She quietly pointed at the dresser.
"He has some journals and some pictures in there, can you grab them?" Mavis nodded and walked over to the dresser. Hesitantly she opened it and pulled out the journals and photos. She quickly scanned through the photos. Most of them were of Kurt and Mavis. Mavis swallowed down the sob trying to escape her lips as she handed everything to Emma. Mavis grabbed a couple of shirts and buried her face into them, taking in his scent. Her body shook. Emma stuffed the photos and journals into the backpack and handed the backpack to Mavis.
"Take some." She whispered. Mavis looked up, face wet as she nodded, taking the backpack. Emma walked over to the closet. She opened it slowly and there it was. The main thing she was looking for. His guitar. She picked it up slowly, trying not to make any noise. She handed it to Richie, putting a finger to her lips. He nodded and took it. Emma looked around the closet and sighed. She wished she could take everything. She wished she could just take it all but knew she couldn't. She rummaged through a crate of his vinyls and took a couple, then put on his favorite denim cap. The floor above them creaked. Emma's eyes widened as she motioned for everyone to start leaving. She swung her backpack over her shoulders and quickly grabbed the guitar from Richie's grasp. She turned around to close the door to the closet. The three exited the room. Emma took one last look and saw yellow eyes glowing in the corner. She gasped and closed the door quickly. She stumbled and the guitar hit the wall. The group's eyes widened even more as they heard Deidra open her door.
"Hello?" She called in a drunken slur.
"Go, go, go!" Emma whispered harshly. The group darted for the door.
"Emma?" Deidra called. Emma looked back and saw her mother at the top of the stairs. Emma watched as her mother's face go from complete shock to complete anger. She rushed down the stairs as Emma ran out. "Emma! Don't make me call-" Emma whipped around at the sudden silence and witnessed Deidra drop to the ground, her body convulsing. Emma gasped and dropped the guitar and ran back over to Deidra.
"Mom!" She screamed. Tears began flowing out of Emma's eyes as she put Deidra's head in her lap. The convulsions didn't stop. She cried out as she grabbed the older woman's face. Her head snapped up to Richie, Zeke, and Mavis. "Help!" She screamed. Emma looked up to the sky. "Help!" She screamed again. Next door, Eddie and Mrs. Kaspbrack peeked out of their house.
"Oh!" Mrs. Kaspbrack gasped as she ran back inside. Eddie locked eyes with Richie and then looked back at Emma, shock written all over his face. Emma sobbed. She couldn't describe what she felt. She hated Deidra but at the same time couldn't stand to see her this way. It felt like the world was stopping. Her friends around her couldn't do anything but stare as the sounds of an ambulance approached. Emma held Deidra's head close to her chest and screamed. Her friends flinched at the sounds of Emma's distress. The paramedics rushed through and pulled Emma from Deidra. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as she kicked, squirmed, and cried. Eventually, she got tired and just hugged the paramedic who held her protectively.
"She's on the stretcher! Let's get her to the hospital!" a voice called. The paramedic cradling the small brunette lifted her up. The girl stopped sobbing but tears continued to spill from her eyes as he handed her to Zeke. Everyone's words were muffled as Zeke put Emma in his car. Richie had a hand on her arm trying to talk to her but she couldn't hear what he was saying as she stared out the back of Zeke's car. Mavis was holding her head in her hands as Zeke was trying to comfort her. Emma felt numb. She couldn't feel her vocal cords aching at that moment from all the strain she had put them through. She couldn't feel Richie grabbing her arm, all she could do was stare.
She stared at the back of the ambulance as they took off. Her brows furrowed. Her hands began to shake.
She swore she saw a red balloon in the back as they pulled away.
