Ichigo together with SCP-3845 advanced quite the distance since they separated themselves from the facility workers. Going fast, both of them felt good being closer and closer to freedom. Ichigo for obvious reasons, his companion for more anonymous ones.
Ichigo as a matter of fact, now that he was closer and closer to the surface, felt more and more lonely. Not because of him actually being alone, it was something different causing this, he didn't know what. He was successful in blocking those feelings and continuing on.
The map the electrician gave them proved to be a useful item, the wirings went up all the way the main generators on the surface. They were big and looked complicated, which wasn't exactly a surprise considering what they powered up.
Now finally they had been on the last straight path to get to the main artery and from there go all the way up. Ichigo Together with 3845 saw the metallic gate painted white with yellow markings around the edges and a keycard reader on the right side. The gate had two red light in the middle forming together one full circle which blinked. Ichigo with pleasure came up close and kicked the doors right in the light. He delivered enough force to rip them off their hinges which sent them flying all the way until they didn't hit the mud-brown concrete wall.
Ichigo and SCP 3845 stepped in, the way was climbing up with an acute angle, it was dark and grimm, pipes, and circuits went up the ceiling and the walls near where the ceiling started. There were large stairs going up on the right, on the left the same but down. Next to them, there was a wide gap that separated the stairs from the wall opposite of Ichigo.
He walked up the handrail and looked at the metallic tracks in the ground which allowed for at least two elevators each big enough to take three large family cars on them. He didn't expect it to be like that. Then again it is somewhat understandable, if clean up groups which would re-contain the SCP's were to be sent down, they needed to go as in one large team.
Ichigo's attention was caught by the lazy sound of metal-plastic brushing. He knew the sound well. Ichigo looked up and behind to see a camera zooming on him and the at SCP-3845. The camera started rapidly clicking. SCP-3845 jumped and took the camera off the wall ripping it away, the camera died down together with the characteristic clicking while electricity crackled noisily for a moment sending a short-lived shower of yellow-gold sparks.
"Great…"
Neither Ichigo or SCP 3845 stayed in place anymore, both of them moved upwards, ten seconds later an alarm went off, different from the previous one which just indicated a normal breach. This one was louder, more annoying because of the higher tone it had. A male voice spoke coldly calling for mobilization
Attention all facility forces! Your presence is needed immediately at the EVAC-1 path segment 6.
Ichigo was faster than SCP 3845, therefore he was the first one to meet the unlucky facility soldiers who were close enough to immediately appear where they needed to. Ichigo didn't have time to bother anymore, he couldn't play games any longer.
Ichigo straight and simply appeared in front of the nearest to him soldier, he took him by the neck and threw him against the walls on the left, sending him flying, creating a small hole after the impact. The limp body fell down on the tracks for the sideway elevators and remained there without any movement.
The first shot was fired soon after Ichigo appeared, but not at him. Ichigo headbutted the second standing nearest soldier, who after impact, bumped with enough force to trip three soldiers behind with an impressive knockback. This is when the now dead soldier has fired his first shots as the nerve impulses arrived in his hand.
Ichigo made one step forward and appeared behind two soldiers who already fired their own rounds now into pure air. He grabbed their heads and smashed them together. The helmets strong enough not to shatter, but large pieces fell off and on the ground together with the SCP facility soldiers.
Ichigo disappeared and appeared on the right side, hiding behind one of the soldiers, the others fired on instinct their first bullets but immediately stopped after sudden witnessing the mistake they have committed. They shot one of their colleagues. As they stopped, Ichigo was already gone and the penetrated body fell down letting out its last moan.
Ichigo without any effort grabbed the handrail and by using his left hand as a knife he vertically cut through the metal, creating a semi-like-sword. One after the other died, his or her head turned into mush, flying away like a baseball. Come to think of it, any quick made amateur weapon was way deadlier in the Shinigami's hands than anything a normal army soldier had by himself with Ichigo's strength taken into account.
A pool of blood formed around the massacre leaving Ichigo in the middle of a pile of dead bodies. SCP-3845 arrived at the scene before he could even do anything. The tall guy seemed to sadden but quickly regained his previous mood.
"Here, take it"
Ichigo grabbed one of the rifles the soldiers had next to them, he gave it to SCP-3845, who took it in his hands. He dropped it a moment later, which resulted in the weapon firing and shooting a pipe that burst with a cloud of white smoke coming from inside of it.
"Tch…" Ichigo was taken back " If you want to survive and be free for the rest of your life, you have to do it. I myself had problems with killing people not so long ago, but if their intent is to capture us."
As he spoke to SCP-3845, he saw a green dot on the creature. Ichigo scowled on that, soon he got the answer why it appeared on the SCP's body in the first place. The sound of a torch, the one you use on construction sites, was hearable in the distance, SCP-3845 took a few large steps back and ducked.
Ichigo moved forward with his impressive speed, he appeared next to the flying projectile, that of course was a missile. He took it and reversed it back to the sender. He appeared not so far away from SCP-3845. Both of them observed as the missile exploded right after the soldiers shot at it.
The Shockwave didn't reach them, and if it did, both couldn't notice it. Ichigo moved forward right away in worry the ceiling would fall down and he'd have to punch through the rubble. Thankfully the explosion left a big mess of burning plastics and metal pieces from the pipes and wires above with some rubble lying on the ground too as expected.
'Idiots, risking so much to contain me? Then again, I'm probably one of the most dangerous and right now after so much fighting, one of the top violent and rebellious by their standards'.
He couldn't care less than he did now honestly. After Zangetsu he has to get the hell out as far as it is possible. Like ten kilometers or something, find a city or town, get a compass or world map, determine where to go in order to reach Japan. If he has to venture through the ocean, then so be it. He could even stop at Hawaii.
'Sure, why not at this point actually.' He thought sarcastically.
A large squad that occupied the path to the top fired their weapons aiming where they thought Ichigo could appear. Their reflexes were subhuman compared to Ichigo, the poor souls who fought him didn't even get to know he was bulletproof since Ichigo in his haste didn't allow himself to get hit.
Ichigo patiently waited until SCP-3845 arrived, both of them felt that they are almost there. Ichigo tried to spot some sort of sign that perhaps would say how much more to the surface, but his tries were in vain in the end.
Both continued on, Ichigo only dared the soldiers to send something heavier, if they managed to send a tank or some armored vehicle like that, it would mean that they are really determined to stop them.
Ichigo and SCP-3845 advanced two hundred and fifty meters onwards. Defeating many small military groups on the way. The only new addition was the heavy rifles with some special exploding ammunition that the soldier brought with themselves and many grenade launchers which did more damage to the facility then to them. It was somewhat chilly, so you could even go as far as to say the nice warmth he felt from the explosion served him.
Ichigo and SCP-3845 didn't see any more soldiers for the rest of their small adventure. This was a very positive outcome, he'd rather get them all at once and have some undisturbed time to rest until he finally departures together with Zangetsu.
Speaking of Zangetsu, Ichigo sensed that he was getting step by step closer. Whatever route he took, it was the right one. SCP-3845 was now the one in lead.
Ichigo has felt a long, not present flurry of joy deep inside of his chest. A small smile cracked on the death God's face, eying the creature. Seeing the SCP run-up ahead so quickly. Let freedom serve him, along the way he didn't find anymore SCP to rescue.
Ichigo followed the SCP. It didn't take long for them to realize that the air was getting a bit more color and also felt fresh when breathed in. This only gave Ichigo more motivation to move forward. The two of them didn't stop at anything the foundation's facility personnel decided to has thrown at them.
Ichigo ad SCP 3845 stopped for a second when the alarm stopped and turned on again. The same voice as before hs spoken with an astonishing new announcement.
Warning all facility's personnel, SCP 2131 has breached its chamber! Please evacuate if you are in the near of floor twenty-three, section C…
The voice explained further the instructions on where to flee not to meet it face on.
Ichigo listened closely to what the voice said and noted the number in his head. He wondered how much he was the cause of the breach. At the same time, he was now feeling nervous by releasing something from its chamber. I could potentially be dangerous, or as his companion by his side, just an unlucky prey.
Whatever the hell the thing was, he wished it luck non the less in escaping.
They continued, picking up the pace relatively fast and were back on the way to freedom. Ichigo could feel with each step he made, that Zangetsu was getting nearer, yet the feeling grew slower. Their speed was the same as earlier, so Ichigo grew suddenly suspicious of why was that his way and not the other.
Ichigo stopped before his colleague and put an end to their heist's progression. Ichigo tried to sense if perhaps the facility's soldiers were moving Zangetsu to another place. The point didn't move, it as in one place the whole time, but slightly more to the west then where they stood. Ichigo noted this, being skeptical if it isn't just him having trouble feeling his Zanpakutō.
"Are we close?" He asked taking use of the situation.
The pill on legs just shook its "head" violently showing approval and went on running taking fruitful big steps that somehow made it move faster. Ichigo with a positive attitude followed and shortly after has been almost right behind the creature.
Ichigo and SCP 3845 noticed the change in appearance, the floor was now made out of pure cement. The walls were more grey and looked less clean, the great number of cables and pipes seemed to become lesser and lesser as they explored more onward, not stopping once and not seeing any force that even tried to stop them. Ichigo using flash-step has spotted, while moving, all the cameras that were each put in a distance of about fifty meters or so on the ceiling.
Finally, they have reached the sideways going elevators, two big platforms, with a pad each on the right side by the corer. To the right and left there were two great gates. Before the elevators, there was a distance between each elevator, giving some space adding that it was as wide as the way down.
Ichigo naturally taking in account his noted discovery from earlier, went to the left side, heading therefore west. He saw that the SCP he has been escaping with went the other way. Both of them looked a each other, wondering what the other would do.
"I think we have to part our ways, unfortunately," Ichigo spoke first, as he was the only one able to even speak.
The SCP nodded, then looked at the gate, he tried to open it. It has failed. Then it turned back to Ichigo walking to him with a sloppy pace and ending in front of the Shinigami.
"Honestly though, it would be better if we keep together for your own safety, no offense...Dude - he said with a questioning look - but you are way weaker and vulnerable than me."
Ichigo then proceeded with opening the left gate as he did with all the other. This was one was quite difficult and he had to break a sweat trying to bend the metal he wanted, he created a wide enough gap, helping himself with his own feet to some point. Both he and his companion walkthrough.
There were two valid information Ichigo received by standing in the new terrain. One, was that this still wasn't the way to the surface, or it did but they were very close. They have found themselves on floor number five of the storage area, section B.
The other, from the good pile of information, was that Ichigo by calling out Zangetsu in his mind made him notice some sort of a response, the signal got stronger and the link of communication definitely was now somewhat repaired between the two of them.
Zangetsu, I'm almost there…
Ichigo felt it getting stronger, then it died down after a few seconds. SCP 3845 continued to be the guide for Ichigo. Clearly it didn't know where to go, as they lost themselves in the hallways a few minutes after they have entered.
Going through one of the hallways, the lamps were spread in a zig-zag like pattern, they were circular. Ichigo and SCP 3845 walked the hallways as Ichigo went the way he felt was the right to get to Zangetsu.
Ichigo and the SCP looked up at the ceiling hearing something similar when a camera is taking photos at a rapid rate. The circular lamps have now turned into weird round tubes, the lights now being a curved part of the bottom side. Then with a click, something extended off them while a mall red light burned brightly above it. Before even Ichigo could have reacted, there was a quick flash of red.
The red light followed down to the closest of those things, showing a net drawn out by a laser from the red burning light. The things all beeped as if an errored just occurred.
"Turrets?" Ichigo said out loud, guessing.
As if this as staged by some metaphysical being, all the objects turned to directly aim at them.
SCP 3845 hid away, letting Ichigo take this into his own hands and deal with the problem. The first shos weren't a bi del as they all were but tt of a pistol, there were about eight of those in the hallway. Ichigo without effort destroyed each turret by simply walking under it and punching each one destroying it and shattering it into pieces.
Ichigo took the path he's have drawn out for him by his senses. Ichigo felt more and more sure with each turn that Zangetsu was really close. He couldn't talk with the old man yet, but he will in a short amount of time be able to. Ichigo couldn't hide the fact that he was stressed even though he kept this buried under a pile of optimism and hope that anew burned in his ver heart.
Usually, a bad connection to the Zanpakutou is the very reason the two cannot communicate. Kenpachi for instance, went full-on raw power and used his own Zanpakutou as just a simple weapon he could focus his spiritual energy on. He doesn't even know the name of his Zanpakutou.
Ichigo was scared deep inside, that whatever happened back there, in the outskirts when the Hogyoku has reached him and later transported into this…
Ichigo let out a scowl in a manner that would be most original for his face to over make. Thinking about this, it wasn't easy, and it was quite the opposite of just being a thought. This was a constant struggle Ichigo hs kept up since he made te run for it.
His rational side screamed at him, he felt this unsetting stab in his head, in his being that the Foundation was all serious and made their research. He really didn't want to believe it at first, and he still doubts it, but where would be the point o faking important documentation? Why would they do it to themselves? How could they have predicted he would run, and for his moment for the matter of debate taking the option of them faking it as true, that he would escape and reach the exact computer and get the knowledge?
The possibility was none, and Ichigo for a matter of fact knew it but didn't want to full-on face as he should. He understood it, he sees it, he tolerates it, but he doesn't quite accept it.
That place could hold the candle that would shed some light, by that unveil the key to solving his problem he is right now fighting with. Being stranded and alone on a different earth, just because the Hogyoku has done something and made it so.
A thought came to him, as he just now was wondering about his life and where he ended up. What would he do, if the worst-case becomes the truth he really wants to avoid? He's sole purpose would be to use his powers for the better and help people, perhaps even, if he had to, cooperate in some rare instances with the foundation or any other institution if such exists.
Could he consider joining the Foundation? It as an unlikely option, after what he witnessed he doubts that he could bring himself to it. Then again, he might join and be some sort f a brake that could stop them from taking such measures for the greater good.
Ichigo didn't notice, but he and 3845 have ended up in the middle of an intersection. The intersection was round rather than in the form of a square, on the left side were a few seats and a long oak tale together with a dozen of wooden crates that just seemed to be stacked next to the way leading south.
"We're heading west, we're getting really close," Ichigo said with more enthusiasm in his voice and proceeded with a flash step.
Ichigo with that stepped out of his train of thought and for the last time, focused mainly on finding his Zanpakutou. He traveled a great distance, surprisingly even for him, and ended up before a small gate, it wasn't special but still, it was rather big for a regular entrance separating two areas.
Ichigo Kkcked the gate, the two metal pieces that made gate were ripped of the all, flying away from Ichigo and landing loudly on the ground smashing anything behind.
Ichigo walked in with a quick and short flash step, only to see a group of SCP Foundation soldiers that looked at him straight into his eyes. Both he and the group stared at each other for a second more, before the soldiers started their offensive. Using heir Granade launchers on their weapons, they bought themselves some time by creatin explosions Ichigo has avoided but lost himself in the ash and smoke from them.
"Go! Go! Go!" Ichigo heard a voice in the smoke call out.
SCP 3845 stormed in after Ichigo. Seeing the situation playing out and gaping from a higher point as it was taller, it saw with the corner of its eyes where one of the soldiers was. The SCP reached its long hands into the smoke and grabbed the soldier, taking him out of the smoke and slamming against the wall, making him fall unconscious.
Quickly it hid its hands, as if they were extendable parts, falling on the ground was a white, with a face on it similar to some stick figure oval-shaped gleaming 3845's torso. The SCP rolled itself into the smoke, making many of the soldiers fall down. Ichigo was easily sweeping them away and defeating them even without the help. The smoke tactic the Foundations soldiers used quite often now was not as well working as they might have originally thought.
Ichigo could see somewhat through the smoke, as the soldiers wore all black. He could hear them move and see the flashes of shots they fired at him. The bullets that hit him also were something he felt, but it was more as if a thousand butterflies just decided to suddenly sit on him.
Ichigo with 3845 quickly finished the job. In a matter of ten seconds, the entire group was defeated, the ones Ichigo faced had the most serious injures.
The two of them continued quickly, passing next to a sign because of their fast pace. It read: Section A
…
Emily has thought that she would be safe now. The world must have taken her hopes for a joke as it was exactly the opposite of "safe". She was as ever watchful since they arrived, looking twice everywhere where she wanted to go. Trying to avoid men in particular for the time being, although she knew that it wasn't right as it could be anyone. By avoiding, it meant her not looking at them. What was worse, she had been assigned to a male doctor. She was aware of her just appeared phobia, she couldn't do anything about it.
As they arrived and she has received her needed help, soon after her SCP just broke out. The whole facility was alerted and there was already an evacuation protocol active. Since she was the neediest individual in the facility's medical wing without counting those who were trapped underneath the bottom floors, she was outright left alone for some time. Paradoxal, wasn't it?
The doctor who took care of her, was ordered to stay in the medical wing with her until it won't be really necessary to leave with the unfortunate just happening circumstances. Nobody was coming for her for an hour-long and everyone seemed to evacuate. She was laying in her bed and looking straight at the ceiling seeing shadows and hearing numerous voices.
The foundation's workforce consisted of people, and people tend to often have their own separate morality system that is pretty much not based on objective principles. Even if the ethics committee was watching every move everyone in the facility and the SCP Foundation made, without counting in a few separate special scientists who had the pleasure of easily hiding fuss under the rug. Thus, it explained why everyone seemed to suddenly forget about her. She was treated as she should, now she wasn't important.
Emily couldn't get up as easily as she would like to, she had a broken rib, and even if she did stand up, which was, by all means, a move she could muster herself to do, it would make her get injured more and possibly cause more troubles. Her whole body felt like aching, but mostly the side of her face in which she got beaten the most together with her abdomen.
She tried to catch some rest, she tried to fall asleep, but the alarm has awoken her and she immediately started to think about her SCP, about Ichigo as this was the name of the SCP she would play with for at least five years before even having the chance to get another level up.
The time seemed to flow mercilessly, with her alone, abandoned ad without any caretaker by the side. She needed someone by, just for the measure of feeling safer. An SCP, HER SCP to be more precise, has escaped!
She felt a headache coming for her, thinking about what she has worked for and what she has gotten, usurped by no right because of this unstoppable force called fate...
' No such thing exists' She said to herself, reminding herself of her stance on human metaphysical concepts.
Emily tightened her fists, she moved her legs slightly, trying to carefully move herself to the right side. She was determined to know, she had to know what is going on. Her movement wasn't painful at first but as she moved her body to a more curved position which of course resulted in small sots of pain just appearing.
A broken rib, she couldn't believe she would ever come close to his sort of state ever in life. The worst thing, that she remembers about getting herself injured was when she was little and accidentally drive down a steep hill.
Emily heard the doors to the medical wing, her bed wasn't that far away from them. She heard heavy boots walking and then stopping with a loud clap when taking the salute.
In the medical wings alarm, lights turned on and shined brightly red on the bright cold lemon walls, blinking for a limited time, indicating that anther SCP has just broken out. Everyone started to pack their things, while the speaker has announced the following
Warning all facility's personnel, SCP 2131 has breached its chamber! Please evacuate if you are in the near of floor twenty-three, section C…
The voice was soothing and quiet, not booming or ear hurting. The medical wings alarm lit wasn't also as strong. The Foundation has taken measures not to disturb the medical staff as least as possible in times of crisis leaving hem to do their job.
Emily's eyes widened in shock after hearing the message. She went deaf to what the MTF units were saying while the announcement has died down. She got the hold of herself and her attention was caught like a fish by a pelican hooking on the MTF units voices.
"Everyone, the evacuation is now imminent, five minutes until total upper floor evacuation!"
Emily seemed to get touched by some sting, right where it feels. Her eyes became blurry for some time. Se waited, and eventually, her doctor came, unveiling he greenish curtains that held her caught off from the world since she got here.
"Miss Emily, as you probably hard- he stopped and called by hand gestures two nurses to come over- we have to evacuate this instant. You will be the first. I'm sorry, but we have to do it the radical way."
He came by and the two nurses helped her to get up, slowly and carefully they other to sit up. The doctor quickly examined her and while searching through the area, Emily breathed in an uncommon pattern, feeling dizzy all of a sudden.
"Don't worry, it's just the stress you've been through, it'll go away in a matter of seconds."
The doctor has found two pills he so desired to give Emily. She took them, she told him about her dizziness and that it was getting worse. He looked troubled, at fists, but he had not time to return to his study in which he had some medications for cases like that he himself uses.
He stayed like a pillar of salt for a moment, then he seemed to realize something, at least so it seemed from Emily's perspective, and she had guessed right. He searched his left pocket in his blue scrub, he took out a small but round and bulky pill.
"Almost forgot," She said and turned to the nurse on the right "My keycard and badge are somewhere in here"
The nurse looked around, finally opening he drawer and filing what Emily needed, putting it on her neck, and with the metal coupler that was a part of the scientist's badge, she pined it tp her lab coat.
Her Doctor,, as he came closer she glanced at his nameplate, Tomas Mann, handed her to pill over. Emily took it, swallowed, and let herself be hoped out. She stood on her legs and stumbled a little. She together with the help of her doctor and the two nurses, which took care of her all the way to the end, as her the doctor had to attend someone who needed help and just came back from one of the bottom floors.
Everyone had nothing more to do but do as the MTF soldiers have instructed. They went out of the medical wing. Her body still hurt her, they followed a group made out of fifteen people in total. One MTF soldier was in the hallways patrolling and looking in the opposite direction.
She was calm, and she was stable in that regard which surprised and took in awe the help she got from then nurses who themselves were scared. She just received a few pills that fought off pain impressively fast even for her, and her dizziness, it seemed to still be there, but she sort of felt better, speaking more from a psychological standpoint.
She quickly got outside together with everyone else from the group. Ten minutes ago she was in a room full of people, right now she was dressed in nothing more than a lab coat and the clothes she had on while she was brought to the facility.
Outside it was cold, but Emily saw the movement many armored cars driving in and setting their sentries up, together with a swarm of MTF units ready to take action after seeing SCP. The MTF unit still didn't seem familiar to any she has ever encountered o learned about, it could be this one had a change in equipment.
From the parking lot, there were a row of transporters wich parked near the entrance. From the west side, there was a column of armored cars, all black as night with the only SCP logo painted in white on the backside where the engine was. These had turrets and proper canons, although they drove on wheels.
A few quickly deployed self arranging tents were scattered from her point of view near the chimneys of the power plant. One transporter seemed to drive out and drive next by another who just came and looked for a place to safely dispatch its human cargo.
One of the MTF soldiers which were standing by the entrance now serving more as an exit way saw her and recognized her as a scientist, she had her badge and her key card around her neck. The MTF soldier approached her and the two nurses who were escorting her. He stopped in front of them. He redirected them elsewhere as the evacuating personnel came quicker at once then suspected and where they headed there were no more free spaces. The appropriate place where other scientists were gathered and ready for their departure was to the north-west, next to the unloading docks.
He allowed himself to go with them a small tile and then turned back to return. Before he did that, Emily managed to ask:
"What sort of MTF are you?" She asked while having the pleasure to.
"None specifically, we are from the outposts in the US and Canada. There will be a team of four choppers coming from Seattle if I heard right and my peers didn't spit gossip"
She already knew about a few and saw familiar faces she recognized from looking into the Facilities documents on about with whom she would work with.
AU
I have made some adjustments to chapter 16, therefore, making the story still having sense with this chapter out. Probably some of you might have forgotten, but Ichigo's wasn't supposed to release other SCP's by accident.
Other than that, idk, I think that's all. Three more chapters to end the BETA part o the story.
