"Um... come in and sit down." Cassandra said. Randy went inside. Cassandra was glad she'd shut the bedroom door. Randy sat on the couch facing away from the bedroom door. "I'll be out in a minute." She went back into the bedroom and closed the door. John was sitting up in bed.
"Who was at the door?" John asked.
"Randy's here." "He knows my boyfriend's here and he asked if he could meet you." "Do you want to tell him about us?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, well we have to get dressed." She put on a t-shirt and shorts and John put his clothes back on.
A few minutes later they came out of the bedroom.
"Ok Randy." Cassandra said. "Ready to meet my boyfriend?"
"Yeah." Randy said. Cassandra and John went in front of the couch. "Hey man, what are you doing here?" He asked looking at John.
"I'm Cassandra's boyfriend?" John said.
Randy laughed hard. "No."
"Yeah."
"You guys are messing with me."
"No we're not." "We're serious." Cassandra said.
"My best friend and my sister." Randy said out loud but to himself starting to get it.
"Randy are you ok?"
"Yeah." "It's just kind of shocking." "I never expected you two together." "It's a little strange for me." "I'm not apposed to it, I'm just a little perplexed." "I came here to take you out to breakfast." He said looking at Cassandra.
"Ok." "Let me shower real quick."
"I'm gonna go to my room and shower." John said looking at Cassandra.
"Ok." They kissed. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"I'll walk you to your room John." Randy said standing up.
"Damn, you're even gonna put John through the ringer?" Cassandra asked looking at Randy.
"I'm not putting him through the ringer, I just want to talk to him."
Randy and John left. They were going down the hall towards the elevator.
"Are you mad?" John asked.
"No." "You know how protective I am of her."
"I know." John pushed the button for the elevator and they got on.
"Do you love her?"
"Yes I do." "She makes me so happy." "I haven't been this happy in a long time." "I won't hurt her Randy, I promise."
"Well here's some advice, if you want things to work out, do not propose to her." "I don't think she'll ever change her mind on that."
"We've already had that talk." "I know she never wants that." The elevator dinged. "Are we cool?"
"Yeah." John got off the elevator. Randy pushed the button to go back down to Cassandra's floor.
"See ya."
"Bye." The doors closed.
Cassandra and Randy went to a diner. They were eating.
"Cassandra, are you happy?" Randy asked.
"I am." "John makes me so happy." "I love him so much."
"How long have you been dating?"
"Four months."
"Why didn't you tell me about it?"
"I wasn't sure how you'd react."
"At first I was thrown through a loop, but after processing it, as long as you two are happy, that's all that matters."
"I'm glad you're ok with this."
"Something does concern me though." "I know how much you want a baby."
"You know John doesn't." "If you can deal with that be with John forever." "If not, you need to leave him." "It's not fair to you or him."
"I can handle it." She thought about telling him about the hysterectomy but chickened out.
