[The next few weeks had been quite peaceful. Nicole recovered a little bit and the Watterson family could live their life like they usually do... Until Brandon gets released from jail. His sentence is over and he rejoins his gang while explaining his full plan to them. Kayla feels like Brandon's plan is slowly turning into a bad idea, but she stays silent. She didn't want to lose her opportunity to earn money... Brandon puts some printed graphs on the table to show his gang members.]

Brandon: See this peak? This is the predicted moment that the C.U.B.'s infection is fully gonna kick in.

Kayla: What's gonna happen?

Brandon: Whole Elmore will get to know this kitty's secret...

[The scene cuts to 11PM on a Friday evening. Anais is asleep, the brothers are watching a movie and Richard eats some ice cream in the kitchen. Nicole is about to go to sleep due her still feeling a bit weak. The last weeks might've been quiet, but still a struggle for her. Her body barely could manage any food and she'd been feeling dizzy a lot. Now she is sitting in bed, reading a book. Even though she is used to being alone in rooms, it freaks her out a little this time. She continues reading, ignoring the odd breeze that makes her fur rise up. Come on, Nicole, don't give in..., she thinks. After some obnoxious minutes, she suddenly hears something. As her head starts aching again, she decides to catch some fresh air. She quickly changes into one of her work uniforms and grabs the keys. As she leaves the room, Richard just comes in, going to bed. She explains that she's going for a short walk and they kiss each other goodnight. Nicole glares into the living room, making sure Gumball and Darwin went to bed too. She then goes outside and locks the door behind her. She feels great to be outside at night again, just like that evening when Richard took her to the hills. She walks across a few blocks until she sees a known house: Kayla's. Nicole comes closer out of pure curiosity when she sees that Kayla's car isn't parked in front of the porch like it usually is. Where could she possibly be at this time?, Nicole thinks.]

[In the meantime, Kayla is on her way home, returning from Brandon's meeting. The C.U.B.-core is in a plastic bag on the passenger seat next to her. She glares at it for a second and once again starts to doubt whether Brandon's plan is a good idea or not. Something doesn't feel right... She calls her husband when she gets near home, asking him to check on the fish tank, as he usually forgets. Her husband pretends that he didn't forget it and says that he'll feed the fish in a minute. Kayla sighs and hangs up. He better doesn't forget again, she thinks.]

[As Kayla is getting closer to her home, with the C.U.B.-core, Nicole starts to feel sick again. The very high screeching sound returns as it plays inside of Nicole's head. She almost falls over because of her dizziness and grabs hold onto a wall of the house with her right paw. She pinches the area in between her eyebrows with the other and grunts out of pain and frustration. Nicole knows that it's gonna happen again and lowers her ears in defeat. She lets herself fall on her knees and whispers while begging her body for mercy. But it's no use. The pain is just as horrible as all other times and Nicole loses it. She screams while tears roll down her cheeks. A harsh crack in her back eventually makes her tumble over and she accidentally breaks a window with her claws. She loses her balance and falls through the window, landing on some glass shards on the hard concrete floor. Nicole yelps and quickly rises up, to pull the glass out of her back. Some blood stains her shirt and she can't take it anymore. She wildly shakes her head until the transformation is once complete again. Some shreds of her clothing hit the floor and she gets on all fours. After staring angrily at the broken glass which stabbed her back, her attention suddenly goes to the large fish tank in the corner of the room. The room is dark and the only light comes from the tank. Nicole gets closer to it and rests her clawed paws on the glass. It was full of big, colourful fishes. Her yellow, glowing pupils follow the movement of the biggest one. She could see the bright, pink scales reflecting the tank's light and the small fins moving quickly. She doesn't know what starts going through her as she loses control over her mind. Her heart starts beating faster and she automatically lowers her upper body while preparing to pounce...]

[In the meantime... Jay, Kayla's husband, heard the window breaking and gets up to go checking it. He freezes in his steps when he hears a lot of splashing and another breaking glass sound. He grabs a baseball bat and puts his paw on the knob of the room's door. While shivering in fear, he carefully opens it while tightly holding the bat. His eyes widen at what he sees; the fish tank's glass broke in pieces, water from the tank wets the floor and all fish disappeared. But most shocking of all, Jay sees Nicole viciously tearing the last fish apart. She rips pieces out of its flesh with her teeth and quickly swallows them. She couldn't help it... All those days her body made her gag by most of the food and she was genuinely starving. After finishing the remains of the fish, she turns her head and her eyes meet Jay's. Jay screams in terror when he sees the monstrous feline staring back at him. She twitches her ears and growls furiously at him. Jay, who spent a fortune of those rare fish, angrily sprints towards her while raising the bat with his arm. He manages to hit her hard on the head, but in doing so, commits a huge mistake. Nicole hisses out of pain, but doesn't give in at all. She had been getting used to more painful situations. So she pounces on the brown dog-humanoid and pins him down. She disarms him by grabbing his bat with her teeth and throws it across the room. The feline's claws dig into the dog's arms and he yells it out in agony.]
