In Ibiza the celebrations were well and truly underway, they had been there three days now and were on the last day. All women were having a fantastic time, the sun, sea and the alcohol was great for everybody involved.
"I have had a fabulous time Kate, this has been just what I needed" Carla said to Kate as they laid on their sunbeds.
"I bet you are missing Haisley though" Kate replied.
"So much, I have never left her for this long, she is always with me" Carla told her with a sad face.
"Yeah true"
"I facetimed her the first day we were here but she was so upset I had to let her go, Peter has said that she is missing me a lot"
"He sounds like he has it handled though"
"He has been great" Carla smiled "she is a handful but he has been really good with her from what I have heard"
"Bet you miss him too"
"I do you know, this has made me realise just how much I love him"
"Good" Kate told her.
Kate and Carla had really bonded on this trip "he asked me to try for another baby, you know"
"Did he? What did you say?" Kate asked with a smile.
"I said we can try later in the year, but I'm not sure he will want to now he has been full time with Haisley" Carla laughed.
"I am sure he will, that will be exciting having another baby around the place" Kate told her. Carla wondered if she knew about Aiden's baby but she didn't say anything as she told Aiden she wouldn't.
"Yeah" Carla said, falling into her own thoughts. She loved having a baby, Haisley was her whole world and she was so little. At first Carla thought she would hate the baby stage but she loved it. She loved bonding with a baby and taking on all the responsibility. It was her and Haisley against the world.
After another fun filled day with a beach party in the afternoon, the women all went back to the hotel in the evening. They had a flight the next day so wanted a chilled dinner to end the holiday.
"A toast, to a great hen do and an even better wedding" Carla held her glass in the air "no one deserves it more"
The whole table cheers to that.
The women had an amazing time, Kate and Rana were closer than ever and even more in love. They had really enjoyed this time planning a wedding and getting ready for the rest of their lives.
"You ok?" Michelle asked, as she joined Carla on the balcony of the restaurant.
"Yeah, just watching the waves"
"She has had the best time" Michelle told Carla, referring to Kate.
"She deserves it"
"She does, but so do you" Michelle told her, placing her arm around her shoulder.
"I love you" Carla told her.
"I love you too"
"I mean it, you have always been there for me and I really treasure you" Carla said pulling Michelle in for a hug.
"What's all this then?" Kate asked, appearing in the doorway.
"I am just appreciating the people around me" Carla told her "Which means you too, get in here" Carla opened her arms so Kate could join their hug.
"How much have you had to drink?" Kate chuckled.
"Not as much as I did yesterday" Carla told her truthfully, causing Michelle and Kate to laugh.
"Yeah, yesterday was an interesting day" Michelle laughed.
The next day all the women were ready to go home. They were all partied out and Jenny had drunk most of Ibiza's alcohol reserves.
The flight was more quiet on the way home then it was on the way there.
Once they had landed Carla was excited to get back to Haisley and Peter. She had missed both of them terribly. She didn't have to wait for long because she collected her suitcase and walked through to the arrivals pick up hall with everyone else to wait for the bus.
But Carla saw a sign with her name on it covered in so much glitter. Stood behind the sign was Peter and next to him was Haisley.
"MUMMY!" she shouted, running through the crowd to her mum.
Carla let go of her suitcase and sprung her arms open for her daughter so she could grab her and pull her close.
Michelle and Kate almost choked up at the scene.
"I missed you baby" Carla said as she pulled away "I am never leaving you again"
"I missed you mummy, so much"
Carla gave her another cuddle. She then looked up at Peter.
She rushed over and gave him a hug. He pulled her into him and breathed her in. Haisley following closely behind. Michelle and Kate were still watching Carla.
"I missed you" Peter told her. Carla then placed a kiss onto his lips.
"I missed you too" Carla told him when she took her lips off of his.
Carla picked Haisley up so she could keep her close. She then hugged Peter so they had a lovely family hug.
"Did you have a nice time?" Peter asked her.
"Yes we had an amazing time" she replied to him as Michelle and Kate approached.
"We looked after her for you" Michelle told Peter.
"Thank you" Peter replied.
"Excuse me I am capable of looking after myself" she told them all.
"Not on the second day you didn't" Mcihelle winked, referring to the drunk mess Carla got herself into.
"Kate, did you have a good time?" Peter asked, choosing to ignore what Carla had got up too. He would let her tell him all about her holiday later.
"Yes thank you I had an amazing time but glad to be home now"
"Well I hope you don't mind that I am here at the airport but this one couldn't wait to see her mum" Peter said, poking Haisley in her tummy, causing her to laugh.
"No that's fine" Kate told him "gives me more room to stretch out in the bus"
After saying their goodbyes everyone was on their way home, although Carla was now in the car with Peter and Haisley whilst everyone else was on the bus.
"How was she whilst I was gone?" Carla asked Peter, turning to the back of the car where Haisley was sitting in her chair with her headphones on watching her tablet.
"She was fine, we had a few moments where she missed you and I just didn't cut it" Peter told her honestly.
"She loves you Peter" Carla said, placing her hand on his arm.
"I know but she just missed you"
"I am never leaving her again, I was like a part of me was missing" Carla told him honestly.
"I missed you too, you know" Peter told her "I will show you just how much later" he winked at her.
"I'm sure I can make up for all the time we have missed" Carla said, biting her lip.
As they arrived home Haisley had to show Carla all the pictures she had made for her. They spent the rest of the day cuddled up watching films as Carla was tired and Haisley wouldn't leave Carla in case she left again. Even though Carla explained she wasn't going anywhere.
Peter was looking forward to his one to one time with Carla but Haisley had other ideas. She wanted to sleep in their bed with Carla and because Carla had missed her she said she could just for one night.
Whilst looking at her sleeping child in her bed Carla looked up and said "Peter, why don't you move in with us properly"
"Really?"
"Well you have been here for a few days watching her so why not, she is used to you being here and I want you here"
"If you are sure, I will bring my stuff over tomorrow"
"What about Simon?" Carla asked.
"He will be fine, he knows that this was on the cards and to be honest I am sure he will like the space"
"That is sorted then" Carla lent over Haisley and gave Peter a kiss.
"This is not how I pictured tonight going" Peter huffed, crossing his arms.
"I'm sure it wasn't" Carla laughed "I'm sorry, I will make it up to you"
The next morning Carla had to go to the factory to catch up on the work she had missed.
"I heard you all had a good time" Aiden told her.
"We did, Kate had an amazing time" Carla told him.
"Good"
"How is that baby of yours?" Carla asked.
"It is cooking nicely"
"Such a manly answer" Carla laughed "but I am glad everything is ok"
Soon Carla was walking home after finishing what she needed to, she didn't want to be there all day as she wanted to spend some time with Haisley.
"Carla" Kate called over from the other side of the street.
"Can't stop Kate, Haisley is waiting for me"
"I really wanted to talk to you though" Kate said sadly.
"What is it?" Carla said, noticing her sadness. Carla took Kate by the hand and led her to her flat. Haisley was there with Peter but she asked him to take her out for a bit so she could talk to Kate.
"Hey princess" Kate said to Haisley as she entered. She gave her a big hug "Just what I needed, a cuddle from my favourite niece"
"Hello aunty Kate" Haisley smiled "I am going to the park with daddy"
"That will be fun" Kate said, pressing her nose.
"You could come" Haisley told her.
"I would love too but maybe some other time"
"Ok, tomorrow?" Haisley cheekily asked.
"Haisley" Carla scolded.
"No it's ok, tomorrow is good for me and then maybe afterwards we can go and try on your bridesmaids dress?"
"Yay!" Haisley shouted.
Once Peter had taken a rather excited Haisley out, Carla got out a bottle and poured a drink for her and Kate.
"What is wrong Kate, you're not having second thoughts are you?"
"No of course not, I love Rana but it's her parents, she doesn't want to get married without them there but they don't want to come because they don't support us" Kate explained.
"So you argued about it"
Kate nodded.
"Rana will come around, you can't have anyone there that doesn't support you both, it is your special day"
An hour later, the women had almost finished the bottle after they were talking about anything and everything. They were laughing about their trip and having a real chat about life.
"Oh Carla, I want to ask you know that we are home" Kate started.
"Go on" Carla encouraged.
"Well I was wondering if you would talk to me about Frank?" Kate asked gently.
Carla sighed "Ok, sit back it's a long and horrible story"
"Really?"
"So I met this man named Frank through underworld. He was nice and charming and a well respected man. At the time I was in love with Peter but he had turned me down so I needed to move on with my life and that is what I thought I would do with Frank"
Kate nodded.
"Well he asked me to marry him and I said yes because I was trying to forget about Peter. We planned the wedding and it got to the day before when I just realised that I couldn't marry him whilst I was still in love with Peter"
"That was brave"
"Yes, but It wasn't fair to him to string him along. Anyway I told him it was over the night before the wedding and he didn't take it very well"
"What do you mean?" Kate asked knowing that Carla was starting to struggle to tell the story.
"He turned into another version of himself that I hadn't seen before but it was him, the real him. He was so angry, I had never seen anger like it" Carla said, in a trace, she was staring at the wall.
Kate took Carla's hand and asked, "what did he do Carla?"
Carla stopped looking at the wall, looking into Kate's eyes "He raped me" Carla let out a stray tear "I tried to make him leave once I had told him but he was so angry, he wouldn't leave and he raped me"
"Oh Carla" Kate said, taking the other hand.
"He then left straight after, so I phoned Maria and I phoned the police" Carla wiped another tear away "Peter saw all the police cars rushing round and the van so he rushed round to see if I was ok"
"Peter?"
"Yes, Frank came back into the flat acting all innocent for the police, they dragged him out and that's when Peter saw him being arrested"
"What did he do?"
"There was nothing he could do, he was in shock at what had happened to me"
"He loved you back then Carla"
"He did, he tried to hide it but he couldn't anymore, especially after I was raped, he just wanted to support me so that's when we got together"
"Peter really helped you then"
"Yes, he helped me through the worst thing that has ever happened to me, I will always be grateful to him for that"
"Oh Carla I am so sorry that you went through that"
"Me too, but I am better now, I hardly ever think of him but when I do I can control my thoughts and feelings"
"I am grateful for you telling me, it means a lot to me that you can share that" Kate told her, pulling her in for a hug.
"You are my little sister and I will always be honest with you, I wanted to tell you but it is hard to talk about"
"I get that, thank you" Kate squeezed her hand "right I will leave you too your evening, thanks again for listening to me about my problems"
"That is what sisters are for, thank you for listening to mine" Carla gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"This is cozy" Peter said, standing in the doorway.
"I love my sister, what can I say" Kate said, approaching Peter, she looked at him and then gave him a hug, she whispered in his ear "thank you for looking after her"
Peter smiled and hugged her a little tighter.
"Do I need to be jealous?" Carla joked with them.
"No of course not, I am going now, I will see you tomorrow little miss" Kate said to Haisley.
Kate left leaving the family for a cosy night in.
