A/N: I've been too busy this week to be able to really concentrate on any of the ongoing stories, but I made a deal with myself this month and I am trying to stick to it. Hopefully these little tidbits are tiding you over until then and I hope to have updates to some of the others this weekend.

Just for You

Mac walks into the living room to find her daughter standing with her leg's shoulders' width apart and her hands on her hips intently staring at something above the fireplace. She queries, "What are you looking at Trisha?"

Studying her parent's wedding photos, the six-year-old asks, "Did you marry Dad because he was good-looking?"

"Not really," Her mom replies, thinking to herself that although her husband is gorgeous that isn't why she married him. She doesn't want her daughter to believe that you should love someone based solely on their looks. Otherwise she would have fallen for Harm the very first time he used that flyboy smile of his on her.

Wrinkling her nose, Trisha inquires, "Did you marry him for his money?"

Mac laughs outright at that one. Although the pay for officers in the military isn't terrible, they could easily be pulling in more than six figures a year, each, if they were in the private sector. She fondly remembers the amazement she felt when Dalton's firm presented her with an offer to join their firm, and that was almost a decade ago. She replies, "Definitely not, I had a few other boyfriends before I got involved with your dad that came from rich families, but money isn't everything. Money can buy a lot of things, but it can never buy happiness."

Trisha turns around and nods her head, "I got it, you married him just because you felt sorry for him."

Mac stands there speechless for a moment, and before she can rebuff her daughter's thought process, she witnesses her walking over to Harm and giving him a fierce hug. She tells him, "It's okay Daddy. I love you just for you."

Harm, puzzled, returns his daughters' embrace, "I love you too, Sweetie." Trisha gives him her mothers' smile before running upstairs to her room.

Harm walks over to Mac, and questions "What was that all about?"

Mac relays the conversation back to him.

Harm's brows reach clear to his hairline, "You let her think that you married me because you felt sorry for me?"

Mac exclaims, "No! She ran off before I could explain all the reasons that I did marry you. I didn't want her to think that you should only marry someone because of their looks or how much money they have. Do you really believe that she thinks I only felt sorry for you? She knows how often we kiss and lightly make physical contact. If everyone else could see how in love with each other we were before we were married, surely our daughter knows how much we love each other now."

Harm nods, understanding, "I'll go talk to her."

Mac shakes her head, "No, I will. I'm the one she's not happy with, and the one who needs to clarify my rationale for marrying you. She needs to know that true love is not only like the fairy tales she reads where the dashing rich prince comes in and sweeps her off her feet, even if you come pretty close to resembling that picture. It's about a person's honor and integrity and being able to trust your heart with them."

Harm replies, "Why don't we go up together, and explain part of how we fell in love."

Mac leans up and gives him a soft kiss, "I'd like that. However, keep it G-rated. At least for the next seven years or so."

Harm chuckles teasingly, "You mean I can't tell her that I married her mother for her body?"

Mac arches her brow in challenge, "Not if you want to live, Squid, not if you want to live!"
