April 2010

Neither Drakken nor Shego saw Kim Possible for several months after that. Winter turned to Spring and they avoided her in the Global Justice hallways, dodged the sidekick whenever he was around. Shego didn't even mind Kim as a person, most of the time, as full of herself as the girl could be. She just couldn't take any more missions.

Drakken was on his laptop when she got home from work. As she walked in the door, she went around to kiss his cheek, and he startled, slamming the top of his laptop shut. She narrowed her eyes.

"What?" Drakken asked. Shego nodded toward the laptop and Drakken sighed. "Fine." He opened the computer again to his browser, which was open to –

"A … A Team Go movie?" Shego snatched the laptop from him and began to scroll through the article:

Todrick Sister's Studios' Team Go: The Movie, directed by Boa Python, is set to be released next month. The Premiere is set for next week at TS' studio in LA.

Actress Heather, who plays superheroine Shego in the film, said, "I'm so excited to be playing such a role model."

Beside the article was a photo of Heather in her costume. "It's pink," Shego muttered. "How …" She scrolled further. "Wego are twins, not one person …"

Drakken reached over and gently pried the laptop from her. "I just found it before you walked in."

"They clearly got permission from someone," Shego said, standing. "And that someone is going to get blasted."

It turned out, however, that Shego was the first to have heard of the film. None of her brothers could tell her anything about it, and none of them were happy. Hego was infuriated that he was to be played by Quinn. "He's so scrawny."

"Yeah, and we're being played by the same guy," one of the Wego twins said, gesturing to both of them.

"And they made us green," the other said. Shego glared, and he backtracked. "Not that green is a bad thing."

"Well, what about me?" Mego asked.

The others – all seated at a coffee shop in Go City – glared at him. "Mego, you're the only person that has literally nothing wrong with them," Shego said.

"Yeah, but I still want to be acknowledged."

Shego rolled her eyes. "Alright, well, we could sue."

"That would take years," the second twin said. "And the movie is coming out next month."

"So … We sneak into the premiere."

"And what would that accomplish?" Mego asked, his arms crossed.

"We could threaten –"

"No," Hego interrupted.

"Aw, c'mon."

"No threats." He scratched his head in thought. "Although … getting into the premiere might not be such a bad idea. That way we could talk to the people involved, see if the movie is really so bad."

Cue eye roll. "How do you propose we do that, if not illegally?"

"Well, there's a contest for twins because of Wego. Our Wego could enter that. I could get a job catering the event. Mego could sneak in –"

"Sweet," Mego said, nodding.

"And Shego … Hmm …"

"I'm telling you," she said, "threats work."

"No, hush. Doesn't Kim Possible get invited to all kinds of events?"

Shego groaned and buried her face in her hands.

The man taking their tickets glared at Shego. "You're green," he said.

Shego opened her mouth to retort, but Kim cut her off. "She's just such a big fan of Wego."

The man – more a boy, really – shrugged and took their tickets. Shego spared one more look back at the van where Drakken and Ron were waiting and watching the event through security cameras, and went inside.

"This is ridiculous," Shego hissed, glaring at the Team Go: The Movie posters. She scowled at Heather's smile, and Kim pulled her forward.

"So we'll sit through the movie, and then we'll talk to whoever's here. Honestly though, when I had a movie being made about me –"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm sure you were thrilled." The two of them took their seats in the theater – decorated with lavish red curtains with the screen up on a stage – and waited for the show to begin.

Twenty minutes into the film, Kim put her hand on Shego's twitching leg. "Would you stop it?" Kim whispered.

"They made me so nice," Shego hissed, crossing her legs tightly. Another minute and Shego stood, inching her way down the aisle.

Kim scurried after her and grabbed her arm. "Where are you going?"

"Shh!" someone behind them hissed. Shego rolled her eyes at the audience and kept moving. Kim followed her out of the dark theater and into the concession area.

"Where are you –"

"I'm finding whoever's in charge. This is bull."

"Fine, but I'm going with you."

"Fine." They circled around to the back of the theater, where the director was supposedly waiting for after the film to speak with the audience. Shego kicked the door in and stormed in – only to stop when she heard Kim scream.

A gigantic king cobra – bigger than any Shego had ever seen – had wrapped itself around Kim and begun to squeeze. Kim panted, struggling, but the snake didn't budge.

"You're so predictable."

Shego whipped around again and saw a woman she hadn't seen in years. "Vipress."

Kim gasped. "Who?"

"Oh, we're old friends," Vipress said, her yellow eyes narrowing.

"Old enemies."

Vipress pouted. "I'm hurt, Shego."

"You set all this up?" Shego spat, gesturing to the theater around them.

"Mmhmm. Superhero movies are all the rage these days."

"So what was the point? Getting me and my brothers here so you could …" Vipress held up a metal object, similar to the one Drakken had used to suppress her powers when he worked with Warmonga. "Ah."

"It looks like you know what this is. But there's a twist on this one, courtesy of Electronique. Instead of just suppressing your powers, I can use this to shock you with your own energy. And keep all of Team Go under my control."

"But why?" Kim panted.

"Why? Can you imagine everything I could do with their powers? I would be unstoppable."

To Shego, Kim said, "Why are all your villains always so damn personal?"

"They didn't used to be."

Vipress snarled. "Just shut up and take these." She held out the cuffs again.

"Hmm. One problem with your little plan, Vi. Why would I put that on?"

Vipress nodded over at Kim, who was wheezing now with every breath. The snake twisted itself higher, tighter, cutting into her lungs.

Murmurs rippled through the audience as the movie shut off and the lights came up. A moment later, two women came out onto the stage in front of the screen.

Vipress had Shego by the elbow, Shego's hands in the cuffs. Kim dashed out in front of them. "Vipress –"

"Ah!" Shego fell forward, the cuffs glowing faint green. In her other hand, Vipress held a remote.

"Shego!" Her brothers all began to run forward, all in their Team Go uniforms, but Vipress held the remote above her head. "Stop or I'll shock her again."

All four of them stopped where they were. Mego looked over at Hego, and Hego at the twins. None of them knew what to do next.

BANG! All of them ducked but Kim, who lept in the air and snatched the remote from Vipress' hand. Drakken and Ron's van had just smashed through the wall, sending several civilians bolting and screaming. Vipress' snakes – the giant king cobra and two smaller snakes – shot out from behind the screen, and Team Go dashed forward again. Drakken and Kim both ran toward Shego.

"How do we get these off?" Drakken asked, tugging at Shego's hands.

"Hey, watch it!" Shego yelped. Just then one of the smaller snakes launched itself at Kim. She ducked, and Shego bashed it in the head with her binded hands, knocking the snake to the floor and breaking her cuffs apart. "Well. That worked."

Vipress bolted as she watched her plan unravel, unnoticed by all but Rufus, who whistled loudly and pointed at the escaping villainess, chattering incoherently. But Shego got the message well enough. She pushed the remnants of her restraints to the ground, quickly catching up with Vipress and doing a front flip onto her back. Vipress fell over with a Thud!, and Hego ran over to restrain her.

Shego handed Vipress' hands over and dusted off her own, making her way back to Drakken and Kim. She grabbed Drakken's hand and started pulling him toward the door. "Wha –"

"I need a vacation," she muttered, and she dragged Drakken away, Kim shaking her head behind them. Of course Shego would leave her to clean up the mess.
