Dewey Duck Vs. The Nega Verse Book 2

Chapter 17

"We have a deal."

Webby did run. She ran through the diner, looking for anything that can help her against B.O.Y.D she had a feeling that if he caught her, he would do more then what Webby feared.

She could hear him behind her, silently humming, and the sound of his metal gears squeaking as he walked.

"Come now, Webbigail." B.O.Y.D cooed. "I just wanna -." He paused and looked under a near by booth. "play." He finished.

Nothing.

No Webby.

"You are a lot better at this then your double." B.O.Y.D praised as he abandond the booths and looked towards the bar. He snickered and walked towards the bar. "Bit of a cry baby that one, but..." His voice trailed off as he paused to lean over the side to peer behind it.

No Webby.

"It was kind of a turn on for me. I always find her that way." He said. "Then I'd..."

Webby squeezed her eyes shut and tried to drown out his voice as B.O.Y.D discribed in great detail what he'd do to her double. What was worse he listed them off from ten being the greatest and one being not so great and apparently he had very few of those.

She wasn't really hiding. Just stalling for time until she was sure Huey and the other's had gotten as far away as possible, and to come up with some sort of plan.

How her double was able to stand being around this B.O.Y.D for so long made her wonder if her double didn't even had a choice in staying away from her Louie. Leaving him for five whole years.

B.O.Y.D looked around the small diner. Not a lot of places for a small duckling like her to hide.

"Espeically, if I taunt her about Louie." B.O.Y.D finished.

Webby's heart sank.

"You know," He continued still, as Webby hugged her knees close to her chest, her heart pounding hard against it. "I think once I find you, I'm gonna do number eight to you." He hissed, so close to her ear that it made Webby jump.

She looked to her left slowly and stared into the face of evil B.O.Y.D. She tried to scramble out of her cubby whole under the sink in the kitchen, but B.O.Y.D grabbed her.

"I guess this answers my question from before." He sneered as he held on more tightly to her. "You are more fun to toy with then her."

He pushed up against her as his metal body radiated heat. He squeezed her tightly and Webby felt the scorching, seering pain from her back as B.O.Y.D pratically burned it, making Webby scream out bloody murder.

Both Louie's stared at Goldie O' Gilts.

One with awe and almost admiration, the other will a look that could kill.

"Well, now." Goldie said, turning around to face them as they cowered by the locked closed door. She could pratically hear their little hearts pounding hard against their chest. She loved seeing the mixed emotions on their faces, awe, admiration, resentment, and horror. "It seem's you two are in quiet a pickle here."

Both Louie's glanced at each other as Goldie slowly came around from behind her desk. The 'other,' Louie eyed the golden key dangling from her ear opposite of Webby's skull earring. He had a sneaky suspision that was important in some way.

The way B.O.Y.D had taunted his Webby about her Granny made Louie wonder if what Webby was doing was really on her own free will. If they had her Granny, it would make sense. She'd do anything to make sure that the Queen of the Nega Verse was safe. He had wondered himself what had happened to her once Goldie took over.

"Where is she?" The 'other,' Louie asked, he rolled his shoulders and straightened up and narrowed his eyes at Goldie.

"Who?" Goldie asked, and snickered as he fiddled with the strap of his army vest, fondly.

"The Queen." Louie replied.

That made Goldie stop fiddling with the strap and narrow her own eyes at him. The 'original,' Louie looked from him to Goldie then back again. Confused. He tried to keep in mind that this Goldie wasn't like the Goldie he knew back home. He shouldn't let his gaurd down.

"She' being..." Her voice trailed off as she brushed Louie's double's bangs out of his sweaty face. "Detained for now." She whispered. "Just as you two will be."

"W,What are you planning on doing with us?" Louie Original asked.

Goldie craned her neck to look at him with an evil gleam in her eyes.

Louie gulped.

Huey heard Webby screaming. It took all of his will power not to stop running and turn right back around to save her. But he knew if he did she'd never forgive him. She had told him to keep the photo in her bag safe, and going back for her would be breaking any trust she had in him by going back.

He blinked hard to hold back the tears as he followed close behind Magica and Glomgold. He noticed Magica still looked a bit shell shocked after whatever it was she seen back before B.O.Y.D showed up.

He ran up to so he could run along side her.

"Mind telling me what you really saw back there?" He asked her. Glomgold gave him a sharp look but he ignored him. Magica bit her bottom bill as they reached the edge of the desert terrain. She looked at him.

"I, I saw someone who shouldn't be there." She began.

Huey stared at her.

"Who? Where?" He asked.

"I, I saw -." Magica tried again, but something came falling from the sky almost landing on Glomgold who back away casually as if he was exspecting it.

Dust swirled around them from the impact of the fall and as soon as it cleared Huey's eyes narrowed at who it was that struggled to his feet in front of them, coughing up dust particals as he did.

"Mark Beaks?" Huey asked.

Mark Beaks looked up at him, he was still half robot, half parrot. But his eyes were bloodshot from crying and he looked like he was mauled by a wild animal.

"P,Please." He begged. "Please. Don't make me go back!" He sobbed, and fell into Huey almost knocking him down.

"Get a grip man!" Glomgold snarled.

He picked Mark Beaks up with one hand and sat him up on his feet.

"Now, take a deep breath and start at the beginning." Glomgold ordered.

"G,Goldie." Mark Beaks said, with a gulp of fresh air.

Huey's eyes narrowed.

"What about Goldie?" He asked. He took a step forward forcefully. He was not in the mood for any more surprises.

"S,She forced me to, to go to the, the Original Verse..." Mark Beaks choked out.

"What? Why?" Magica asked.

"Explains the grand entrence, must have taken the Vortex Train." Glomgold remarked.

"S,She's after the dime." Mark Beaks told Huey. "I, I tried. But, But it's not there, then things happend and -. Please! Don't make me go back!" He pleaded, and started sobbing again.

"It's okay, Mark. You won't have to go back." Huey insisted.

Mark Beaks gave him a watery smile.

"Dime?" Magica asked, confused.

"Scrooge's number one dime." Huey answered.

He gripped the strap to Webby's backpack more tightly.

"What would Goldie want with his number one dime?" Glomgold asked.

"I have a few ideas." Huey muttered. "As where the dime is..." His voice trailed off.

He; of course knew excatly where the dime was. The note on the back of the photo was making more and more sense to Huey.

"I, I don't want to have to face her, she's scary when she get's bad news..." Mark Beaks wailed. All three of them glanced at each other.

"Okay, Mark." Huey said, "We can protect you from Goldie." He told him.

Mark looked up at him with watery eyes and smiled at him.

"R,Really?" He squeaked out.

"Yes. But you have to do something for us in return." He said.

Mark looked at him and waited.

"Hack into this damn micro chip in my brain and shut it down." He told him.

"M,Micro chip?" He asked. "You know if I do that there is a fifty-fifty chance of -."

"I know the risk." Huey snapped. "Do we have a deal?"

Mark Beaks looked from Glomgold, to Magica, then back at Huey.

"We have a deal." He said, finally holding out his hand.
