Anna stepped into Jason's room, finding him standing in the middle of it staring into space. However when she walked in he turned to see her. "I know you don't want company, but if you are wondering about the Wilsons I'm the best person to talk to."
Anna sat in the desk chair. Jason sat down on the bed. "I don't know what I did to have her suddenly freak out like that." He didn't know why he was confiding this to Anna, but he felt that this strange person could understand what was going on.
Leaning forward Anna spoke, "She had a wound suddenly reopened." Jason looked at her, "Rose feels that if she had been a better child than Deathstroke would not have been so devastated over Grant and Jericho." Looking at a memory only she could see, "And Rose reacted that exact same way when she found out that Grant was still alive."
Jason started, "How ...?" but it trailed off. He shook himself as if thinking he couldn't ask.
Anna smiled, "You can ask me anything." Then with a wink, "I know what you are thinking either way."
With a reluctant smile, "How did you and Grant make it so you get along so well?"
Looking at a spot, "Shared life experience." Anna was pulling into herself a bit.
Almost genly Jason spoke, "What happened?"
Looking at him, "We were captured and tortured together." Then twisting her wedding ring, "He had been taken so that our captors could find out if his father's abilities could be replicated. And I…." there was a slight crack, "I was taken when they broke into a science facility and took every kid that was young enough to be brainwashed." Then she looked Jason dead in the eyes, "You think that no one can understand that pain. But I do."
There was silence. Jason could see that she did, and couldn't find words. Anna didn't trust her voice.
A distraction came in the form of Gar, "Hey Jason." Seeing that Anna was in there too, "I'm sorry."
Anna was already on her feet, "What's happened?"
Looking slightly up at her Gar responded, "The others are back. And they have brought a friend. Someone new."
Smiling over her shoulder at Jason Anna asked, "Shall we meet the new inmate?"
With a laugh Jason got up and followed them out of his room and down the hall where everyone had gathered. Introductions were made and they found out what Conner could do. Anna was too busy playing with Krypto to seem to be like she was paying attention. However there was nothing that missed her.
Stepping forward she gave Conner her hand, "Anna. Nice to meet you." Meeting that innocent smile with her own, she tried to find why there was the mind of a toddler in this teenagers body.
