Well, I never imagined I'd make this far. I thought I'd lose interest in this story before I reached the 1/3 point. Still, thank y'all for sticking with me for this long and hopefully for much longer. Let's get started.
I should point out that this is the original starting point of part 2 of the story. As I've said many times I had planned on splitting this story into 3 parts and this is the beginning. Obviously that didn't happen so I guess I'll just keep on going.
I want to apologize at the beginning if this chapter is boring or doesn't make sense. As I said, I didn't think I'd make it this far and I really have, or had, no idea how to write out this chapter. I guess you can say I'm kind of winging it at this point, or at least with this chapter. Hopefully y'all can forgive me to that.
I will point out that this chapter, and the next couple, are going to deviate a little from the main story to focus on Fox and the others helping Katt with her problem. I've said it many times that this story is based on a Star Fox video game idea I had, an open world one (similar to the Mass Effect series), and this covers one of the side stories. In the game idea, it's how Katt could be recruited to the team. This will happen a couple times throughout the story but not often, and the main story will continue as well.
Hope you enjoy the chapter.
Chapter 20: Out of Boredom
Great Fox Bridge
"Sorry Fox, there's been no sign of Andross, not even a peep." The hologram head of General Pepper said with a loud sigh.
Fox reluctantly nodded as he starred up at the hologram head of General Pepper that illuminated the bridge. Though it wasn't what he wanted to hear when Rob called him to the bridge to answer the call from the General it was what he expected to hear. It had only been a week since Andross escaped them on Fichina; he had his doubts that Andross would've been found already, though he had hopes that wouldn't be the ca that were dashed to pieces. He was glad to be the only person on the bridge at that time to hear the report, it wasn't something any of his crew members would've been happy to hear; especially Diana, Torygg, and Krystal. Plus, his depressed expression was not something they needed to see, though he knew he was going to have to speak to each of them later on the issue.
"I guess I shouldn't be surprised, without a way to track him through the worm hole I doubt we'll find him any time soon. He's been hiding ever since the Lylat Wars ended and probably has his own network set up." Fox said.
"That's what our research and experts suggested. Unfortunately, that makes finding him nearly impossible. I hate to say it but I think your guess may be correct."
"What guess?"
"That we probably won't find him till after he makes a move. That's what we Cornerian officials are counting on and it's a horrifying thought to consider our best strategy to wait till our enemy attacks before we do anything." General Pepper stated.
"I know, but it freaks me out too. Considering Andross' history with attacks that is very horrifying because whatever he does will be spectacular and decisive. Fortunately, according to Todd and the evidence we found he seems to be out of ideas and steam."
"That has made a lot of officials, myself included, a lot less freaked out. If your brother wasn't such a high standing military officer, plus the evidence that was found, we wouldn't even acknowledge that. We've taken that into consideration, as well as his lack of funds and manpower, for our war time strategy."
Fox glared at the hologram. "Please tell me that means you're taking that lightly. Despite all that being true underestimating Andross is a fatal mistake."
"I know; we're fully readying our forces for the inevitable. We're significantly more prepared for the second Lylat War than we were the first one. However, we can only do so much till we find him and without knowing what exactly he'll do I'm afraid it'll still be devastating."
"I agree; his biggest strength is his genius and unpredictability. Combine both and we're in for a world of hurt when he makes his move."
"That's why we have Star Fox, I hate to keep replying on you guys but that's just the situation right now." General Pepper replied. "I do have some good news, though at first it may not sound that way."
"And what is that?"
"Well, I'm sure that you are aware that it didn't take long for Andross' return to get out to the public."
Fox reluctantly nodded. "Yeah, it's been all over the news, though I haven't paid much attention to it."
"Can't say I blame ya. Unfortunately, once some of the stations heard that Star Fox was involved a couple jumped at the opportunity to blame you for his escape."
"Yeah, I had a feeling that would happen. The news loves twisting things to cause a panic."
General Pepper nodded. "Fortunately, that didn't work in this case. The public didn't believe it one bit and the three new outlets that ran with that story received MAJOR backlash for it. Last time I checked two of them were being sued for misinformation and defamation of character while the third had to shut down because of it."
Fox smiled slightly. "That's good to know; at least those idiots got what they deserved for spreading false information."
"Well, that's pretty much all that news outlets do these days anyway so this is a blessing."
"Yeah, one less problem we got to deal with, out of a thousand."
"Fox, any good development in a time of hardship is a blessing and should be counted." General Pepper said with a smile. "Well, that's all the news and business I have to discuss with you. If there's anything you want to bring up do so, if not then we need to end the call so I can get back to business. Thanks to that stupid ape I got a lot of business to deal with right now."
"No, General, I got nothing at the moment. No new developments on our end I'm sorry to say."
"That's fine, and then I guess we're done here, Fox."
"Alright, take care General."
Fox sighed loudly as the hologram shut off and he was alone the bridge. He found himself wanting to scream and cuss but restrained himself; even though no one was around that was not how a mercenary captain was supposed to behave, even in private. Instead, he just stood there on the bridge, silent, trying to figure out what to do, coming up with nothing viable that would actually help the situation or track down Andross. His frustration only increased with each passing moment to the point where he found himself getting angry, desperately needing someone to speak to.
"Sounds to me that we will soon have our work cut out for us." Todd's voice called out from behind him.
Fox quickly spun around to see Todd standing at the entrance to the bridge with Fara standing beside him. The two foxes just stood at the entrance looking at Fox, none of them smiling. Todd seemed to be genuinely concerned about Fox while Fara was half paying attention with her head buried in her datapad.
"How long have you two been there?" Fox spoke.
Todd shrugged. "Not that long, we caught the end of the conversation saying that Andross hasn't been found yet. That's kinda what I expected."
Fara nodded. "Yeah, we thought we'd come up to see if we could assist. Rob did inform us that General Pepper was calling you after all."
"And why would he do that?" Fox asked.
"Because I asked him to for anything pertaining to Andross. I want to be there for any information we get so I know how best to respond and delegate my resources."
"And I did it because . . . well, after everything that's happened I don't think I need to explain why?" Todd added.
Fox smirked as he shook his head. "Yeah, you definitely don't need an explanation. I just figured you wouldn't leave Cara or Felicity's side for a while. Where are they right now anyway?"
Todd shrugged. "Cara is in our room straightening things out. She has a peculiar way she likes a room to be organized and since she knows we'll be here a while she's getting settled in."
"I'm surprised you're not helping her." Fara spoke up.
"Nah, I'm pretty easy going when it comes to getting situated. It never takes me long to get settled in. It's one area Cara and I differentiate widely, but we still make it work."
Fara turned to Fox and spoke in a sarcastic tone. "You see Fox; it is possible for a messy and clean couple to get along."
Fox shook his head with a smirk, remembering their many arguments when they were married that originated from their vastly different clean standards. "Oh ha ha, very funny."
"Someone has to keep you on track, preferably by smacking you around."
"Too bad you're smacking around hurts like heck." Fox mumbled under his breath before turning back to Todd. "So, what about Felicity?"
"Last time I checked she was with Daria and Diana who are also looking after Felicity." Todd answered.
"Oh boy, I smell trouble."
"Knowing Daria she's either got them playing some kind of devious prank or the four of them are nose deep in a video game."
Fox nodded with a big smile. "Hopefully it's a video game and I'd say that's the most likely scenario given they were all in the game room the last time I checked."
"I really hope you're right." Fox replied with a smile before looking back and forth between Todd and Fara and changing his expression to slightly serious. "So, why are you two on the bridge?"
Fara looked up from her datapad with a half serious expression. "It's it obvious? We came to check on your worrying behind. After what happened on Fichina we have to constantly check on you to make sure you don't do anything stupid."
"Aw, you're still worried about me big ears?"
Fara glared at Fox with an angry expression that made him feel small in the room. Even though Fara was smaller than him she had a way of making him feel tiny compared to her, especially when she used what he called her evil glare. She never liked when people made fun of her large ears, except when Fox did it, though that would change if he did it in public. Looking at her in that moment it was clear she hadn't changed how she felt about it.
Fox saw Todd take a step back. "Yeah, I think I'd prefer to avoid this."
Before Fox could say a word Todd had turned around and was headed out the bridge. In a moment he found himself alone with Fara who continued to stare at him. Fox shivered as Todd exited the bridge, leaving him and Fara alone. He didn't know if Fara was going to yell at him or just ignore him though he was prepared for either.
Fara crossed her arms and glared at Fox. "What did I say about using that name in public?"
"Uh, what?"
"You heard me Fox. What did I tell you about using that name in the presence of others?"
Fox confusedly rubbed the back of his head. "Uh, it's been a while but you said to only use it in the bedroom."
"Correct, and under what circumstances did I say that you could say it?"
"If I remember correctly, you said to only use it when I'm in you balls deep from behind."
Fara nodded as she casually smiled at him. "Very good, and that order still stand to this day. You want to call me that name you obviously know what the circumstances must be."
Fox fought back at gasp as he starred at Fara. "Uh, are you suggesting what I think you are?"
"Could be, you can take the meaning however you wish. But not right now as I am busy and have reports to make to Space Dynamics head office. Just because I'm out here doesn't mean my job has stopped. Plus this bridge has been the best connection so I'd prefer to do my work up here. You can stay if you wish."
Fara turned and headed towards the main computer before Fox could say a word. It was a typical Fara move that he had gotten used to. She'd make a point or a statement and before anyone could reply she'd turn and walk away. Though Fara didn't do it in public she often did it to him to get her point across. It was her way of putting her foot down and asserting dominance. Fox both loved and disliked it about Fara, her stubborn and dominating nature were both arousing and a turn off, depending on the situation.
Fox smirked as he walked up behind Fara as she sat her datapad down on the desktop by his chair. "You know Fara, I figured you'd have a word to say to me or at least try and comfort me."
Fara sighed as she turned around and faced him. "Normally I would but I'm not sure what I could say or do. Well, I know of one thing I could do to ease your burden that you'd very much enjoy." She replied with a raised eyebrow, indicating to Fox what she meant and the thought to him was arousing. "But, neither of us has time for that right now. I got business that demands my attention so I can't do much for you besides spare a few words."
"Really, are you that busy?"
"Oh yeah, Andross' return has been big business for Space Dynamics. The Cornerian military has been making orders like crazy to get ready for what everyone believes is an inevitable conflict. I don't particularly like making money from conflict but it's still great money and business right now. Unfortunately it's made me really busy and difficult to be here right now."
"What do you mean by that?" Fox asked.
"Well, I know this is hard for you but think about it Fox. A company as massive as Space Dynamics receiving a boom in business not seen since the Lylat Wars ended and its President is not in the office. Can't you see a problem there?"
"Ah, yeah I can see the problem, and you don't have to insult my intelligence."
"I'm not insulting your intelligence, just stating you have trouble thinking in anything that doesn't involve combat or the bedroom." Fara replied with a smirk. "Still, I think my purpose can be better served here where I can keep an eye on you and the upcoming conflict."
"Uh, you sure about that, Fara? I figured your company would need you more than I do."
"No, you need someone who can keep on you track and no one has more experience in that regard than me, besides Peppy."
Fox playfully smiled. "Yeah, that's true, plus I do enjoy you're company."
"And I enjoy yours . . . when you're not being an idiot." Fara responded, and then her expression changed to a seductive look he hadn't seen since their marriage as she laid a hand on his chest. "Though once we got the time maybe we can really ENJOY each other's company."
Fox froze as he looked down at Fara. He knew what Fara was suggesting and to say it caught him off guard was an understatement. Seeing her act like that made him ant to take her there and then. But, he knew from past experiences with Fara that she was probably just teasing to arouse him, despite making a serious suggestion that they could do later. Having her hand on his chest only confirmed that she was serious and was trying to drive him wild. It was certainly working; his arousal was all over the place.
As quickly as it appeared, Fara's seductive expression left to be replaced with a serious one. "But, that'll come later, right now I have important work to do and I can't be distracted."
Fara spun around and sat down at the desk leaving Fox even more stunned and confused. Though he wanted to speak more he knew from her actions she was done talking and no amount of pleading would get her to change her mind. Her seductive actions, if they could be called that, only confused him even more and made him want to continue their conversation.
Okay, is it just me or is she being way more flirty than usual. Fox thought as he stared nervously at Fara.
Fox nervously rubbed the back of his head. "So, do you need me for anything or do you have everything you need up here to do your work?"
"Unfortunately, I got everything I need and for the time being I don't need your assistance. Also, I need silence to do my work so reluctantly I have to ask you to leave. Don't worry, I'll ask for your help if I need anything."
"Alright, I'll leave you to your work for now. I got things I got to do anyway. So, I guess I'll see you later Fara?"
Fara nodded. "Yeah, take care foxie boy."
"You too shorty."
Fox turned and headed for the bridge door as Fara went to work at the main control computer. He could've sworn he saw her smile but decided not to press the issue. Though he wanted to face Fara about her recent flirting he figured it was best not to, even though he really wanted to. She hadn't been direct, when it came to flirting for her direct was often subtle, since they got divorced. He suspected she was being that way because of Krystal though he wasn't certain. Fara had always been the jealous type and Krystal wasn't being subtle with her advances towards Fox. No matter what was the case he knew eventually he'd have to face it and that was not a day he looked forward to. As he exited the bridge and made way down into the lower sections of the ship he pushed the thoughts aside as there were other issues he needed to address.
Fox entered the main hallway of the Great Fox and turned the corner only to almost run into a particularly blue furred vixen headed in the direction he was leaving. He jumped back to avoid bumping into her and apologize only for his mouth to stop when he got a good glimpse of what was directly front of him. Standing barely a yard away stood Krystal wearing a very small red bikini that barely covered her large breasts and bikini bottom with a towel swung over her shoulder. His heart began racing so fast it felt like it was going to launch right out of his chest at the sight in front of him. Krystal just stood there smiling back at him, no doubt his expression was making her laugh.
"Krystal, what are you doing, dressed like that?" Fox stuttered.
"Because I'm on my way to the hot tub. After so much stress this week I need a good soak."
"Ah, still I think you're a little . . . under dressed."
Krystal giggled as she spun around, giving Fox full view of her natural fur. He couldn't help but find his eyes staring at her breasts that were barely covered in the bikini jiggling like crazy as she spun. Fox found himself entranced by Krystal's beauty to the point where he was almost drooling. He hate to think it but Krystal easily looked better in a bikini than Fara, maybe it was her exotic fur or her large breasts. Either way, he was drawn to her.
"Considering it's my people's tradition to bath nude I'd say I'm overdressed." Krystal said with a giggle.
"Uh by that logic I'd say that you are, but not here. I hate to say it but remember we have children on board and I do t want to seeing you nude, or with hardly any clothes on."
"Fine, I won't bath nude, but I'm not changing." Krystal growled with a huff, crossing her arms under her bust, causing them to be pushed up, revealing even more goodness for Fox go see. "Still, I know I'll be there alone and that's a problem. Feel free to join me if you want Fox."
Fox's brain seemed to short circuit at the thought of him and Krystal in a hot tub together. He wasn't sure what the entailed but he didn't need to as just being seated next to a gorgeous, wet vixen in a tiny bikini, possibly lying on him, was beyond intriguing. It took everything he mentally had to keep his mind going to dirty places as he remembered that Krystal was a telepath. Though she told him that she didn't care if he thought dirty thoughts about her he still didn't want to do it around her.
"Uh, I might if I can find the time. The way thing are right now I'm probably too busy."
Krystal glared at Fox as she rested a hand on her hip. "Now Fox, you and I both know that is BS. You've barely done anything beyond worry this past week. You know you need some relaxation time."
"I know but I just can't right now. I have to check on the others and inform them on the current situation. Maybe once that is done I'll join you."
"Alright, I guess I can settle with that . . . for now."
"Okay, if that's the case I guess I'll see ya later."
"No problem, take care Fox." Krystal said and began to turn around only to stop. "Oh, before I forget." Krystal spoke up and faced Fox. "My offer of Cerinian therapy still stands."
Fox took a step back in shock upon hearing her offer. "And just what does that imply?"
Krystal grinned devilishly as she laid a hand on Fox's chest. "Let's just say that it involves "techniques" that will not only leave you feeling mentally better but also VERY satisfied. I promise you that no other therapy will ever leave you feeling as "relieved" as Cerinian therapy."
"Uh . . ."
Krystal placed a finger on Fox's lips, silencing him. "Just remember, you'd better be certain about it. That's why you have plenty of time to decide. Though if you agree you'll never want anything else again."
Fox opened his mouth to reply but Krystal let go of him and turned around. She looked over his shoulder smiling like the devil at him. Just her expression was driving him wild and he was certain she knew.
"Don't worry Foxie boy, I'm not going to make you decide right now. As you said, you're too busy." Krystal said with a smirk. "So, I'm going to hot tub and you can come find me later when you have made your decision."
Krystal took off strutting down the hallway like a runway model before Fox could make a peep. Her hips swayed back and forth with her bikini bottom barely hiding any moment. Her tail swished back and forth with each step further hypnotizing Fox. He hated to see her go but watching her leave was beyond amazing.
Fox shook his head to clear his mind once Krystal was out of view. What the heck is going on here, is every girl on board trying to bed me?
X
Rec Room
Ah crap, those three are at it again. Fox thought as he stepped into the rec room.
Seated around the massive TV was Diana, Daria, and Vixy playing Mario Kart again. Though he couldn't see the screen the three girls appeared to be really getting into the race trying to outdo each other. Vixy sat between Daria and Diana, all three on the floor as close as they could to the TV. From what he could see the race seemed to be quite intense with the competitive nature of all three kicked into overdrive. Seated on the couch a short distance away was Felicity who was intently watching them play. She barely moved beyond leaning closer to get a better view of the controllers, as if she was trying to learn how to play by watching them.
"Ha, take that lizard butt!" Daria shouted as her character nailed Diana's character with a red shell, putting her in first.
Fox squinted past Diana and Daria to see that they were on the last lap and that Diana was almost in last while Daria had just recently pulled into first with Vixy close behind her. Daria held the lead for a significant portion of the final lap though Vixy nearly passed her a few times. Diana, not boring one to give up, continued to drive with the clear intent to make Daria suffer for knocking her out of first place, quickly passing the CPU characters to catch up to Vixy. But, despite Vixy and Diana's skill Daria still held the lead.
"Ha, looks like I'm going to win again." Daria exclaimed as she neared the finish line.
"I would not be so certain aunt Daria." Vixy exclaimed with a devious grin.
Fox leaned of enough to see Vixy right behind Daria with three green shells. Daria could easily screen but seemed to choose to ignore Vixy, probably thinking she couldn't accurately hit her with green shells. But, Vixy threw one and quickly proved how accurate her aim was by hitting Daria's character, sending her flying into the air. Just as Daria's character recovered Vixy threw the second shell and hit her again, followed by a third, before driving right past her and taking first place.
"Oh come on, how did you . . ." Daria shouted as Vixy crossed the finish line.
"That's my little secret."
Daria playfully growled as she corrected her character and drove to finish the race. But before she could cross the finish line Diana narrowed her distance behind her and Fox could see her smiling deviously. Once she was close enough she threw a red shell at Daria that hit her right before she could cross the finish line.
"What the heck Diana?" Daria shouted.
Diana looked at Daria the stuck her tongue out at her. Before Daria could respond Diana's character sped past hers putting her in second. Meanwhile Daria's character recovered just as the rest of the pack of CPU characters sped past her. By the time she was able to continue driving she was in last place. Daria looked to be fuming in rage being forced from first to last at the last possible moment.
"Don't worry aunt, Daria. We can race again and maybe this time I'll let you win." Vixy said with a smirk.
"Yeah, I'll try to go easy on you too." Diana added.
Daria playfully smirked as she looked back and forth between Vixy and Diana. "Fine, one more race.
Fox shook his head as he turned and headed to the couch. He smiled at Felicity who seemed to be so focused on the match on the TV that she barely acknowledged Fox. She scooted over allowing him to sit down beside her.
"You enjoying the show, Felicity?" Fox asked.
Felicity shrugged. "I guess, I'll just trying to learn how to play."
"Did they offer to let you play?"
"Oh yes, Vixy offered to let me play but I said I just wanted to watch for now."
"Huh, that's kind of surprising. I figured a kid your age would jump in immediately."
"No, I guess I am trying to get used to living among civilized people, at least that's what mom said." Felicity replied.
"Ah, I can understand that. I imagine it's a bit overwhelming for you since you've never seen technology before."
"What does overwhelm mean?"
Fox smirked as he looked down at Felicity. He had to keep mentally reminding himself that she not only had never seen technology before but was also only a few years old. She was a year younger than Vixy who was only four. Combine those two and it was extremely difficult to explain things to her. That wasn't going to stop him from trying to get her to adjust to civilized life.
"Hey Felicity . . ." Vixy called out before Fox could reply to Felicity's question." . . . Diana says she's done playing. You want to take her spot?"
Felicity turned away from Fox towards Felicity and Daria. "Are you sure I can play, I never have before?"
"Of course, don't worry they'll show you." Diana replied as she walked to the couch.
"Okay, I guess I'll play."
Felicity jumped off the couch and ran towards Vixy and Daria who immediately began explaining the game's controls to her. It made Fox smile to see Vixy be so nice to her cousin, those two got along surprisingly well for having just met. Plus it was adorable to watch them play together.
Much to Fox's surprise, Diana took a seat beside him. She barely looked at him beyond a smile and giving him a nod. Fox nodded back as she sat down next to him, surprisingly close. They were so close to each other that his shoulder was almost touching her arm. He felt tiny seated next to her as his head barely came up to her shoulder, reminding him of the painful match they had. What surprised him just as much was Diana hardly said a word to him, instead paid attention to the virtual race between Daria, Vixy, and Felicity. He figured she'd at least bring up what happened between them a week ago in the training room, but she just remained silent.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself, Diana." Fox said, breaking the silence.
Diana shrugged. "I guess, it's kind of a new experience for me. On Venom we didn't have video games, given we were cut off from the rest of the Lylat System. Even on Macbeth, after we were forced off Venom, we weren't able to get our hands on them. The ones we could were the old, out of date games and consoles."
"Ah, that sounds like it sucks. I have to remind myself that you and Torygg didn't grow up in the best conditions."
"Its fine, I like to think I'm making up for it now. It's nice to have some time to relax and enjoy life through video games. We all need time to relax, even us Sharpscales. I can see why so many do it through video games, it's pretty fun."
"Then I'm happy you have the opportunity to do it now and that I can provide it for ya."
Diana giggled softly, which took Fox slightly off guard; it was rare to see her act in such a manner. Though as quickly as it happened it disappeared and she turned back towards the others to watch them play. As Diana looked back at Daria, Vixy, and Felicity playing their game Fox couldn't help but gaze at two massive melons barely concealed by the black, sleeveless t-shirt she wore. It wasn't like he was purposely trying to stare at Diana's fun bags, it was mostly due to her height advantage that made it near impossible not to find his eyes looking at him, especially by accident. Diana was so tall compared to Fox that her bosom was almost perfectly aligned to his eyesight, resulting in nearly every time he turned his head he was looking at her magnificent breasts. If he had to guess he'd suggest she was at least E cup, if not in the F cup range. It was impossible for him to be accurate in his assumptions as it was obvious that, like Daria, she didn't a bra.
Damn, no matter how hard I try I find myself staring at her magnificent breasts. Fox thought, his gaze was so concentrated on Diana's bosom that everything else around him became a blur.
Fox quickly shook his head to clear the dirty thoughts out of his mind. It took a few shakes but eventually he found himself able to concentrate again. He looked up at Diana's head so his gaze wouldn't fall to her breasts and it seemed to slightly work.
"So, Diana, I wanted to discuss something with you, that's might be a little . . . awkward." Fox said, breaking the silence between them.
Diana turned and looked uncomfortably at Fox. "That depends on what it is you want to talk about."
"Well, that's why I'm questionable to bring it up. I'm afraid if I do you'll smack me through the wall."
"Nah, I'll only do that if you said with Andross, or if you try and grab my breasts without my permission."
"Point taken." Fox replied with a smirk. "I just wanted to bring up what happened a week ago between us in the rec room after Andross escaped."
"Ah, and what about that do you want to . . ." Diana began to reply only to stop when a thought seemed to enter her mind. "Oh, you want to talk about the kiss?"
Fox reluctantly nodded. "Yes, that's what I had in mind. It's been bothering me ever since it happened and I had to ask."
"Huh, you think I did it because I like you . . . is that why you're asking?"
Fox rubbed the back of his head. "Maybe, though it's more out of curiosity. I can't really think of any other reason why you'd kiss my cheek."
"Have you thought that I was just being friendly?"
"Uh, that was definitely more than a friendly kiss. Outside of family people don't kiss each other like that unless they're expressing these feelings for each other's or if one of them is messing with the others."
Diana smiled down at Fox. "Then maybe I was just teasing you."
"You don't strike me as the kind of woman to tease."
"Oh, and what kind of woman do you think I am?"
Fox scooted back into the couch as Diana stared down at him with an angry-ish glare. The way she stared down at him was enough to frighten him to the core. He knew he had to respond properly or Diana would probably slaughter him.
"Uh, you strike me as the straight forward kind of woman. The kind who sees what she wants and goes for it as straight as she can with no distraction or teasing."
Diana shook her head and sighed. "I did not know I gave off the kind of vibe. I can kind of understand how you'd think that after seeing what I can and how I behave. But I do not think I am that way in romance."
"Oh, and how are you in romance?"
"Not the way I wish I was, which is how you described. That's really all I wish to say on the subject."
Fox's eyes opened wide as he looked up at Diana. "Ah, that leaves more questions than answers but I can see that you don't want to speak more on that."
"Yeah, and I wish I could give you an answer on your suspicions but I cannot. I'm not comfortable giving you a straight answer. So for now let's just say we stay as friends for the time being, and not discuss this for a while."
"Huh, I can understand that and it'll satisfy me for the time being." Fox sighed as he looked down at the ground. "I'm sorry for asking and making this awkward.
Diana smiled as she shrugged. "Its fine I guess. It's just not something I'm comfortable with right now."
Fox was about to reply to Diana when he heard Vixy loudly shout. "Dang it Felicity, how did you do that!"
Fox looked towards Vixy, Felicity, and Daria to see them deeply engrossed in the game. Even though Daria was partially blocking his view he could see that Felicity had come in first. He couldn't help but be impressed as to his knowledge it was Felicity's first time playing.
"Sounds like Felicity is a natural." Diana said with a smirk.
"Yeah, I noticed she was doing more than just watching them by, she was learning HOW to play."
"I saw that too. It's rare to see that in a person, let alone such a young kit."
Fox nodded. "I agree, though I think it's her primitive instincts at play. She probably learns and adapts very quickly to situations because of it."
"Hm, then let's hope she keeps it throughout her life, that'll be a valuable gift if she can keep it." Diana replied with a chuckle. "Still, I'd better get involved before Vixy loses it. I'm not sure even Daria could keep her back."
Fox couldn't help but smirk. "Smart move, I was about to head out any way and get something to eat."
"Whatever floats your boat. Guess I'll see ya later then?"
"Yeah, take care and try to keep Felicity and Vixy from killing each other."
"I can't make any promises." Diana responded with a smirk then leaned over and kissed Fox on the cheek. "We'll talk more later."
Diana stood up win tout saying another word and left a confused Fox sitting on the couch as she made her way to an arguing Vixy and Felicity as Daria tried to split them apart. Fox noticed her tail swinging back and forth with each sway of her hips, drawing his attention to her rear. Though Diana didn't have as fine a proportional rear as Fara or Krystal she still possessed a nice looking one. It took Fox mentally slapping himself to get his attention back to normal and off the reptile's ass.
I don't know why but that woman is just so . . . mysterious, in a romantic way. Maybe she's just shy and trying to hide her feelings. Fox shrugged. Either way, I just wish she wasn't so shy.

Kitchen
Fox looked up from his dinner of pork roast and corn to hear someone enter the kitchen. He turned his head to see a half asleep Falco step through the door. Seeing the bird stumble through the kitchen made it hard for Fox not to laugh. He'd seen Falco drunk, hungover, or just plain half asleep so many times but it was still funny. It was enough to where Fox couldn't focus on his dinner.
Huh, the bird brain is probably just waking up. Fox thought as he watched Falco make his way to the fridge.
Falco opened the fridge and scanned its contents for a moment before reaching for the top shelf. He reached for the special, protective compartment with a childproof lock where the alcohol was kept. There was never a lot of alcohol on board the Great Fox, especially not since Vixy was born. But what little there was Peppy kept in a compartment in the fridge where Vixy couldn't reach and under a pass code just to be safe. Falco knew the code and grabbed a beer from inside, quickly closing the door once he was done.
"What's up Falco?" Fox said as Falco snapped off the top of the beer.
Falco turned to Fox and raised his arm, his method of half-heartedly saying hello. "Not much Fox, just trying to keep the boredom at bay."
"Yeah, you and everyone else on board."
"Pretty sure only Diana and Daria are more restless than I am. Particularly since I joined Star Fox again for the action, not to sit on my ass."
Fox smirked. "I know, I feel the same way old friend. But we are searching so at least there's at and a big fight is inevitable."
"You got a point there." Falco replied then looked at Fox. "So, how the search for Andross going?"
Fox sighed loudly. "Not good, there's been no sign of him or any Venom resistance activity. Though there has been a rise in violence and riots on Venom now that it's known Andross isn't dead."
"Hm, that's not good. I know that Andross is good at hiding but with how many people are looking for him you'd think he would've been found by now."
"You'd think that but no. Without any clear any indication as to where the worm hole took him it'll be nearly impossible to actually find him."
"Uh, can't Fara use some of her family's technology or inventions to track it? I thought that they designed something to track worm hole travel." Falco asked.
"They did but those devices have been in storage since the Lylat Wars and aren't in the best condition. Until they're repaired we're on our own. At least that's what Fara told me."
"If that's true then shouldn't we be looking for him?"
Fox shook his head. "Normally yes, but as I said, we cannot possibly accurately track Andross right now. It's be like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles."
"So, you're saying our plan is to wait until we Andross or Venom makes a move and then act? That's a pretty bogus plan."
"I know, I hate the thought of just waiting for something to go wrong, let alone knowing that Andross is alive. Still, there's not really not much we can do right now."
Falco nodded as he walked up behind Fox, letting out a loud sigh. Fox could hear the unrest in the bird's tone, he felt the same way. The very idea of just waiting around while the bad guy plans and makes his move was not something he wanted to do. Clearly it was upsetting Falco just as much as it was him.
"Well, at least Andross doesn't really seem to have a plan . . . if we go by what your brother said." Falco stated, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, if it didn't come from Todd then I probably wouldn't have believed it. That does work greatly in our favor as it gives us time to prepare for the inevitable."
"I guess, still, I'd prefer to at least know what I'm doing and not waiting for the bad guy to make the first move."
Fox nodded. "For once I agree with you."
Falco sighed as he sat down beside Fox. He took a long drink before lying in down on the table. Fox couldn't help but noticed that Falco had swallowed half the beer in one swig and couldn't help but be impressed. Falco easily one of the best beer drinkers Fox knew and could hold his alcohol better than anyone else. Despite that, it hardly seemed to relax Falco, or even make him even slightly happy. Instead, he just stared at the table and occasionally take sips as Fox continued to slowly eat. It was as Falco continued to drink that Fox noticed that he appeared to be even more bored than he was. Fox didn't blame him, ever since Andross escaped they'd done little beyond sitting around and training. That kind of life didn't suit Falco who lived for excitement. It was clear he was easily the most bored person on the Great Fox and was looking for something to do.
"So, is there anything going on right now besides searching for the ape?" Falco said, breaking the silence.
Fox shook his head. "Unfortunately no, besides training and testing Krystal, and Daria's doing most of that. So that leaves me with little more than train and slack off."
"What about pursuing that hot, blue tail?"
"You mean Krystal."
Falco nodded deviously. "Oh yeah, that vixen is insanely hot . . . and clearly likes you. If I were you I'd be taking her back and banging her nonstop."
Fox burrowed his eyebrows, flared angrily at Falco, and spoke to him in an angry, serious tone. "Falco, I don't ever want to hear you talk like tea again."
Falco quickly raised his hands in defeat. "Alright, I want bring it up again."
"Thank you, that's not something we should be speaking about, especially when there are children aboard."
Falco sighed as he lowered his head. "You're right, I'm sorry."
"Good, glad you understand." Fox replied then smiled at Falco trying to change the subject. "So, what about you? Anything happening with the great Falco Lombardi."
Falco smirked as he took a sip of his beer. "Nope, same as you, just lying around and training, nothing more."
"That sounds about right, though you usually have something on the back burner."
Falco finished off the beer and tossed it in the trash, apparently deep in thought the entire time. That was a rare thing for Fox to see and it slightly caught him off guard. Falco just sat in his chair for a moment or two seeming to try to think of any answer to his question.
After a few moments, Falco finally answered. "Well, I got a call from Katt about an hour ago and she sounded desperate."
Fox looked up from his dinner and turned to Falco. "What kind of desperate? Did she say why?"
"Uh, I don't really know for certain but it was clear from the sound of her voice that she at least wanted some help, which is very weird for her."
"Huh, yeah that does sound weird for Katt. She's not the kind of woman to ask for help unless she REALLY needs it."
"I know, that's what worries me." Falco replies with a loud sigh. "She didn't say much beyond she needs help, which IS like Katt."
Fox couldn't help but smirk. He hadn't known Katt anywhere near as long as Falco but still knew her well enough to know how secretive she was, especially when she had problems. That made working with her quite frustrating in the past. But looking at Falco trying to figure it out made Fox remember what Katt said to him a while ago. He remembered what she had said to him when she assisted them during the Venom ambush after they saved Sauria. Fox couldn't help but think that's what she was referring to.
"Oh yeah, I remember Katt wanted my help on something a while ago but she didn't disclose what it is beyond it involved a friend."
"Uh, when did Katt tell ya this?"
"Oh, you remember after we defeated Andross and Sauria and the Venomians attacked us?"
Falco nodded. "Yeah, Katt was a big help in that attack. But I don't remember her mentioning anything about needing help."
"That's because it was a private conversation when we were heading back to the Great Fox. She didn't say much beyond a friend needs help and that she doesn't heed help immediately. I wouldn't be surprised if her contacting you is her way of getting our attention."
Fox noticed that Falco looked a little hurt that Katt would come to him for help instead of her childhood friend. He could understand how his old friend felt though Falco seemed to get over it fairly quickly before looking back up at him with a worried expression.
"Hm, if she came to you instead of me than she must be desperate, though I can't understand why she'd tell you to wait."
Fox shrugged. "I wish I knew, maybe she had to wait till to make plans or the right moment."
"Whatever the problem is it's clear she needs our help. Too bad the timing isn't the best, though she's always had bad timing."
"True, but still she seems to needs us. So, how about you call her back and see what it is?"
Falco looked at Fox confused for a moment. The fox knew that the bird was shocked to hear him suggest doing something else besides looking for Andross. As much as he understood the confusion he needed something to do till the ape was found. Just sitting around was driving everyone crazy and not doing anyone any good.
"Are you sure about that, Fox?" Falco asked. "I'm sure Katt can handle it on her own, she's pretty capable for such a small woman."
Fox shrugged. "We need something to do right now, just standing around doing nothing and waiting for Andross' next move is boring. I say we at least find out what she needs, that should kill some of the boredom."
Fortuna
Andross sighed as he paced back and forth across the living room of his cabin. He had paced across the floor so many times that a rut was beginning to form. But he was so deep in thought and such a blur with calculations that he didn't noticed even notice. His brain racked through so many plans and their possible success possibility that even the beautiful rising sun went unnoticed.
Another day, another unsuccessful day of planning and calculations. Andross thought as he stopped pacing for a brief moment.
Looking out of the window, at the vast jungle, Andross couldn't help but be thankful to be alive. He knew he was lucky to still be breathing after Star Fox attacked his secret base. The attack was so sudden and brutal that he couldn't help but freak out for a moment after the first bombs dropped. If it wasn't for Colonel Flax, who escorted him to the escape pod, he would certainly be dead. Too bad Colonel Flax went back to the office to grab some paperwork before taking off, he would still be alive if he hadn't. It was sad for him to one of his best and most loyal officers. Without Colonel Flax continuing his revenge against Corneria was going to be a lot harder. Andross was also thankfully he had repaired the black hole device on his escape pod the previous evening. It had been acting up for a while and he was complacent in repairing it. If he hadn't taking the initiative to repair it then Fox would've certainly blown him out of the sky.
I guess I should count my lucky stars I'm alive for the time being. Andross thought with a smile.
Unfortunately, all that joy and thankfulness went away the moment the work on his desk came into his gaze. Piles of crumpled paper were laid across his desk along with countless sheets of data projections and research data. Each of them was a different idea/plot/scheme he had thought since he arrived a week ago that had been dismissed because they were not feasible. Seeing it was enough to bring Andross down as it was a reminder of his lack of success in his ever-continuing desire to bring down Corneria. Not one of them, no matter how enthusiastic he was imagining them would succeed according to his research and calculations.
If only there was a viable idea I could come up with or a power source I could easily get to without worrying about Star Fox's interference. Andross thought as he resumed pacing.
Just thinking of Star Fox, specifically Fox McCloud defeating him eight years ago, made his blood boil. The memory of that fateful day was his nightmare, making him cautious. He knew if it wasn't for Star Fox he would've succeeded in conquering all of Lylat; they were the deciding factor in the war and go that day still were. Taking them out had become almost a passion project, one that drove him crazy trying to come up with a solution.
However, no matter how much Andross thought he couldn't think of a plan that would work. A normal villain would wage a war or act against their enemy no matter the odds. But, Andross was no normal villain, he made calculations, thought carefully, schemed and back stabbed to achieved his goals. During the Lylat Wars he was overconfident, acting brashly with over the top strategies and methods against Corneria that succeeded quite a bit. However, his defeat and near death at the hands of Fox McCloud changed him to a careful villain that plans as much as he can before making a move. He barely made a move or ordered an attack without carefully planning how effective it would be and the success possibility. Unfortunately for him, taking everything and recent events into consideration, there didn't seem to be any real option that he could make that, by the numbers, could possibly succeed.
He knew that going back to Cerinia or Sauria wasn't an option. No doubt the Cerinians were on guard ever since the incident there. It was clear he was lucky to get as far as he did there, it was a miracle they didn't kill him during his escape. There was no chance he could do that again, he'd need a massive fleet to break through, something he just didn't have at the moment. Going back to Sauria would be even more suicidal since Corneria knew he was still alive. According to reports the Cornerians were protecting the planet while researchers were working there. Andross knew he'd never make it to the surface before the Cornerians destroyed him or alerted a larger force, or Star Fox.
As much as he wanted to go back to Venom, declare himself emperor, and restart the Lylat Wars, he knew that would end horribly if he attempted it. Ever since the Lylat Wars Corneria had been closely watching Venom and had a heavy military presence there. While there were still quite a few Venomians loyal to him he knew he could never muster enough for an army without Corneria finding out. On top of that they just didn't have the firepower to start a new war. Acquiring the manpower, firepower, and logistics to effectively wage a war against Corneria was just not viable and no doubt end horribly.
As much as he hated to admit it, Andross knew that to continue his desire for revenge he'd need some significant help or a miracle. Corneria was just too powerful to act against and with Star Fox still flying, with a bigger team and more technology and firepower than ever, that any action would certainly fail. On top of that, early all of his old allies refused to help and the ones that could didn't have the means or connections to make any real effective gain. Without a way to gain significant power against Corneria that turned the tides in his favor Andross was certain he'd fail.
Andross sighed as he sat down in his desk chair. "Maybe it's time to end this whole revenge thing. If there's no viable method of bringing down Corneria then why bother?"
Andross looked up from the floor only for his gaze to fall on the picture he treasured so much. It was a picture of him when he was a little child being held by his adopted parents. They were all smiling happily with their small cottage in the background. Even though it was several decades ago those memories were still fresh in his mind of playing and chasing him through the field they farmed with little success. Despite the hardships they had each other and they were all happy. Andross also remembered the day it all ended. The day he was off in the fields when a Cornerian bomb test malfunctioned, causing the bomb to detonate on his adopted parent's home. He had watched it all from the safe distance and still remembered watching in horror as the bomb dropped on their home. That fear as quickly replaced with rage as his adopted parents were buried and the Cornerian government dismissed it as if it was nothing, thoroughly covering up the whole incident.
"NO, I must not quit, not till Sham and Spam are avenged." Andross growled he stood up with renewed vigor. "I will do whatever it takes to bring the evil Cornerian Empire to their knees."
With a bigger fire than he had felt in months he resumed his pacing back and forth, contemplating new ideas. Strategies and schemes flood his mind in a similar volume that he had more than a decade ago when he began plotting against Corneria. Still, he didn't think brashly, he made careful and realistic calculations. The last thing he wanted was for his renewed spirit and planning to be wasted by a bad calculation.
Andross looked up at the ceiling and sighed. "At this point I'd take making a deal with the Lord of Chaos just to think of something."
To be continued
So, things seem to be getting confusing for Fox right now with three beautiful women making things hard for him. Fara and Krystal seem to be heard towards each other while Diana is being distant. On top of that Fox has to worry about Andross's next move and the wait is killing him. Meanwhile, Andross seems to be determined to hatch a plan but with little success. While they wait Fox and Falco are heading to assist Katt on whatever she needs.
