THIS IS THE LAST CHAPTER OF THE BOOK. I will shortly move on to season 2 which will be a different book!
No one's P.O.V
Comet fell though the portal and landed on his butt holding a half bit sandwich in his right hand, while Marcia landed on her stomach with bruises that covered her face. The bestest of friends yet again went on another adventurous trip so Comet could show Marcia how great the special sandwich in his hand it tastes. Sadly, there had been a monster chasing after them and ate half of the sandwich.
He glared at Marcia on the floor and got up.
"I had it in my hand Marcia! I have no idea what you were thinking!" he walked over to a nearby window and Marcia caught right up with him.
"I was thinking of not dyin- AAHHHHH!" the red hooded girl was cut off by the green monster grabbing her foot with his arms through the portal that was left open. That was the same green monster that had been chasing after the two. Marcia grabbed the nearest flower vase and repetitively began hit the monster's hand. When it finally let go, she dropped the vase to the floor and kicked the monster arm right back inside the portal and closed it angrily. Comet just watched blankly and then went right back to an irked face.
"You forgot to close the portal?!" Marcia yelled. "Do you realized that we almost died?!" Comet ignored her angry words and held out his arm, showing the sandwich to Marcia.
"We went through all this trouble and all we got was this sad half eaten sandwich piece?!" The prince's voice was frustrated yet, disappointed.
"That's because it's not worth dying for a stupid piece of FOOD!" Marcia slapped the sandwich against the wall and Comet watched as it's juices ran down the wall. She felt a piece of guilt of doing that because that was the last bit of sandwich they got, only for it to go to waste like that. But she acted as if she didn't care because she wanted to be upset. Comet however was upset as well.
"I'm going to my room," She muttered. As she marched over to her door, Comet began talking.
"I hate when you act like this. Makes me wonder why we're even friends." That line gave Marcia a bit of a shock. She gave him a slight glance and all he was doing was scraping the sandwich off the wall with his wand, complaining about the flies surrounding it in a low voice as if he hadn't said anything wrong. This frustrated her because he didn't even notice her sad glance, she she slammed her door shut and locked it.
Comet's P.O.V
The moment I entered my room, I flopped onto my bed and placed a pillow over my face. I just wanted her to try the sandwich! My whole goal was to make her happy, not this! And why did I even say that last sentence? I feel so bad. A few tears ran down my cheeks. I shouldn't be the one crying, we almost died, and she was right. All because of a sandwich.
Before I knew it, I ended up falling asleep and waking up later in the day where I noticed it was night outside. That escalated quickly.
I looked at the sandwich on my dresser. It still looked yummy even after it being stuck to the wall.
I hoped off my bed and walked over to it and took a bit. I was now munching on the sandwich in front of my mirror. A picture of me and Marcia fell off of it and landed in front of me. That just reminded me that I had to go apologize to Marcia!
I ran out of the room and over to hers.
"Marcia?" I knocked on her door. "I'm sorry...I was being a jerk and I just really wanted you to try this sandwich! It's kinda smashed and dirty but it's still delicious!"
No response.
I tried her door nob and it opened. She must've unlocked it at some point, usually when she's angry she locks her door. I looked around inside. No Marcia. "Marci?" I thought for a moment and walked back out in the hallway. From a distance, I could hear her parents laughing downstairs, so I don't think she was there. I still went downstairs anyways for the phone. Mr. and Mrs. Diaz were under a blanket laughing their heads off.
Jake was the first person I thought of so I quickly dialed his number and walked upstairs with the house phone in my hand. He actually answered.
"Wassup?"
"You! Is Marcia there?! She's not here at all!"
"Damn bro, that's sad," he responded.
"So no?"
"Just because the girl came last time doesn't mean we're best buddies," he stated. I raised an eyebrow.
"You guys aren't friends?" There was a long pause.
"Eh...it's complicated to explain." I opened Marcia's room door.
"So Marci isn't..." my words trailed off when I saw Marcia's hoodie flying in the air.
"Uh hello? Comet you still-" I dropped the phone and it slid right back into the living room from the cord. The hood turned around and revealed a fly inside, like a huge monster fly. I pointed at it slowly.
"You're not Marcia..."
"If you want to see the girl alive again, bring the wand to Luda's castle tonight!" it demanded. "And come alone." The large fly flew out of her hoodie and dropped it to the ground, flying out the open window. I watched it go, feeling a little crept out. Mrs. Diaz walked up to me with a black eye.
"Comet, you'll never believe it! The telephone punched me in the face!" She started laughing until she saw the empty room. "Say, where has Marcia been?" Mr. Diaz came up beside her and but an arm around his wife's shoulder with a slight smile on his face. I looked at the couple awkwardly.
"Oh uh..."
I told them everything that happened and Mr. Diaz instantly called the cops.
"When did you last see the girl?" asked the gray haired female officer.
"Well, we sorta got into an argument earlier this afternoon and like after that she went poof." I began twinkling my fingers.
"Give me a description of her," she inquired.
"Well, she's a really pretty girl! She's like a Latino or is it Latina...?" I thought for a bit. "I DON'T KNOW! Buuuut, she wears a red hoodie...wait, she left that here. I also noticed her phone was here too." I gasped loudly. "OH NO! MAYBE SHE WAS REALLY KIDNAPPED!" The officer looked at me in confusion but still wrote down things in her notepad as Marcia's parents were seated on the sofa, watching the scene.
"Alright." the officer put the notepad in her back pocket. "Listen, we can't do much at the moment, but we'll try to look out for her using the vague description you gave us, but if she still doesn't turn up in twenty four hours, call us again." The officer waved bye and walked out the door. I glowered at the floor. This was all my fault. I should've been paying more attention to her.
"Now, now, Comet, not the long face just yet!" said Mr. Diaz. "They're gonna find her, I bet you. Or maybe she's just doing that teenager thing where you spend the night at a friends because of an argument." The couple giggled. I sighed heavily.
"I'm just gonna save Marcia myself."
"But Comet, it's late!" warned Mrs. Diaz. "I think it's best if you just stay in."
"I would love to Mrs. Diaz, but the fly dude told me to come to Luda's castle...alone." I grabbed the pair of dimensional scissors I had sitting a stool, nearby the TV and cut open a portal before jumping inside.
I stepped through the portal and saw Luda's castle from a distance. I stared at it with hatred. Why would she ever try to steal my best friend, and think she could get away from it?
"This will be easy peasy," I whispered, recalling other times in my head where I've beaten Luda with just a blast from my wand. I ran forward, not even noticing that I passed Luda and one of her monsters from her army sitting on a bench literally chatting normally like they don't have a hug freaking tied up bag in front of them. I blasted the both of them, and left the bag unharmed. I ran over to it to untie it. "it's okay Marcia, I'm he- huh?" i opened the bag to see it full of...tadpoles? "Ew..." I muttered. I closed the bag and walked right back over to Luda who was still on the ground. "Where's Marcia?" I asked, pointing my wand at her.
"I don't even know who that is!" I lit up my wand to scare her even more to make her talk.
"Don't play innocent with me Luda, where the hell is she?!" The buff frog I had blasted onto the ground as well spoke up, but was speaking to Luda.
"He's talking about that karate girl that's always with him." Luda stood up more frightened than ever, holding up her small hands.
"I swear! I have no idea where your friend is!"
"Then why did you send me to your castle?!" I asked, softly but still angrily. The buff frog stood up.
"It is no longer his castle."
"She's right!" Luda kicked the ground and cried. "It's Tootsie's castle now."
"Tootsie?! Who? What? Why? When?! AND WHO NAMES THEIR CHILD TOOTSIE?! Do you really expect me to know who that i-" I stopped rambling when I heard the buff frog speaking in baby language to the tadpoles. I think I was ready to puke. "Uh..." The buff frog pointed at Luda.
"Luda gave me babies."
"Yea, I'm done." I ran towards the castle.
Marcia's P.O.V
I was literally having the most peaceful nap a girl could dream of, even after an argument and I still managed to get abducted by some lizard dinosaur looking creature?! She could've at least kidnapped me when I looked nice. My hoodie is home, so I'm left with a gray shirt and my hair down looking a hot mess, when usually it's in a low ponytail. I tried my best getting up, but what's even the point if I'm hand cuffed to a spiny chair in some huge crystal box? I groaned and looked at the girl in the chair. "Well, it looks like I had all the fun I can have in here." I told her sarcastically, looking around. I smiled. "Oh wait!" I spun around a few times in the chair and met face to face with the lizard again. "I'm done." It took a couple of seconds for me to speak up again. She wasn't saying anything! "Ma'am! I'm here, what do you want?" I asked, annoyed. She remained silent. "Because yes! Take up all of my fucking time!" The lizard got up out the big chair and walked over to some weird looking coat hanger, where she placed her black coat. She walked past me next, and I continued speaking. "Look, if you're after the wand, it's harder to get than you think! Lots of people have tried." I informed her, not knowing what exactly this girl was capable of. Usually me and Comet always get victory in the end, so.. this might just be another annoying pest. "Why did you even grab me anyways? Do I look like a Dragonfly to you?"
The lizard opened up a door in the crystal box I was in and walked in with a fucking sandwich.
"Eat something," she suggested. She placed it on the stool that was in here with me. "Could be your last meal..." she murmured with this evil tone in her voice. I kicked over the stool, knocking the sandwich to the ground.
"Actually sir, I'm totally full. but if you're hungry, I'm a great cook! So why don't you let me out of this chair and I'll give you a taste." I actually wasn't expecting her to let me go, but I got up anyways confident that I could take her down. I threw a punch at her, but she was quick enough to walk out of the box and close it right when I aimed the punch. I screamed in pain and looked behind me. She was standing right there too with that same boring expression on her face. "THERE IS TWO OF YOU?!" I slipped right back into the chair with the use of her tail. She kicked over a different stool with a newly made sandwich on top of it.
"You know, you should really eat," he advised. I slapped the sandwich.
"For the last time I don't want your stinky SANDWICH!" I yelled. She looked at me, again with that same neutral facial expression.
"You're a disappointment." I stood up as she turned her back and walked away.
"So we're giving out compliments now? Alright. I'd say your boring. And you dress like a lawyer."
"Cool," responded the lizard.
Comet's P.O.V
As I was running toward the castle, Luda was chasing after me.
"Wait, wait! You have no clue what Tootsie is capable of! She's extremely powerful! What you need is the elements of-" Luda fell off the wall she was running on right in front of me. She got right up. "You know what, scratch that! How about I sneak into the castle and you can blast Tootsie in the face?"
"Don't trust her," said the Buff frog. "I shall guide you." I looked at her in disbelief.
"If I don't trust her, what makes you think I trust someone like you too?" She sighed and threw her tadpoles in the water fountain nearby.
"I am Mother now. I would like my children to grow up inside castle. You don't have to trust me, but consider alternative." Buff Frog carried the fountain on her back using a rope and then walked over to the castle door and broke it down with ease. Luda ran right inside. I was about to follow along until Buff Frog stopped my tracks. "Before you go inside, you must know that Tootsie is not like Luda and does not like your magic." I laughed.
"Yeah? Well I don't like her name!" I ran inside ignoring Buff Frog's last words.
"You need to have plan!" she called.
We all reached the room Marcia was in eventually, but hid behind the wall and watched as this Tootsie was about to eat her meal while my best friend was in some huge crystal box, and surrounded by monsters to guard her.
I looked back at Buff Frog and Luda.
"Okay, here's the plan. We're going in on one." Buff Frog's eyes widened.
"Wait, Comet! That's not a good pl-"
"One." I ran into the room, not caring if the others followed me or not.
No one's P.O.V
"Now's our chance to grab the wand!" squealed Luda, jumping in excitement. Buff Frog looked at her incredulity and huffed before following Comet. Luda watched as it was all about to go down.
Comet blasted the ground, causing him to jump up high and landed on the long narrow table with blue smoke surrounding him showing that he was ready for action. He ran towards Tootsie. Marcia was shocked to see that her best friend came so soon. Tootsie herself was even a bit shocked by the prince's unexpected presence, but went straight back to her neutral facial expression.
"You made it," was her last words before she was blasted backwards to the ground. And before any monsters could attack, they were all turned into tiny little cute animals with the use of Comet's wand. They were completely innocuous now. Comet then ran toward Marcia and tried to explode the box she was trapped in, but in the prince's surprise, it didn't work. It just scared his best friend who was now on the floor ducking down, prepared for what would happen. But nothing happened.
"Huh?!" Comet was then hit by a large green monster who smashed me with his fist. Buff Frog came to his defense and kicked the monster of of him. The monster was a bit startled to see that one of his teammates was now against him.
"Buff Fro-?" The frog punched him in the face, knocking him unconscious. The frog noticed that Comet was still on the ground and the monsters he had turned tiny, they were all working together to hold a chainsaw and cut the prince with. The frog immediately went into action and simply lifted the chainsaw away from them. Comet used his magic to trap them in a ball. The two teammates paused a little and looked back at Marcia who was staring at them is confusion. Comet just shrugged, not knowing what happened either.
He then saw that Tootsie was still on the ground, so he still had time time to try to get Marcia out the box. He jumped onto Buff Frog and made his way onto the top of the ceiling lights and used his wand as a rainbow arrow, hoping it would open the box. But it didn't. The Dragonfly had just about had it and fell to the floor on all two feet, blasted any monster that came his way and then finally aimed his wand at the box one last time. The thunderbolts on his cheeks lit up causing the thunderbolt on his wand to light up as well. Finally, the prince opened his eyes, which scared Marcia because they looked...different. She didn't know if she should dive to the ground or take cover with whatever was in the box with her.
Comet spun in a circle before blasting the crystal box into pieces. Marcia slowly rose from the ground and looked at Comet who looked so relieved that he finally got the box to shatter in bits and pieces. He ran over to her before she could run out of the box. They both ran into each other and Marcia fell back. Comet was a bit nervous and he didn't know why, maybe he was just really happy? Glad? Grateful? Because what sounds the worst is getting into a stupid argument with your best friend and hours later their gone...forever.
"I'm sorry! I'm just happy!" The prince told her. He lent over a hand, thinking his job here was complete. "Come on, let's get out of here." Marcia grabbed his hand and stood up, but they both noticed something weird happen. The box that Marcia was once trapped in, began reforming! Marcia's hand got stuck in the process, but she was able to remove it.
Comet turned towards Tootsie, who finally got herself off the ground and regrew her arm back, the arm that Comet had blasted. She took a remote off the table and pressed a button. Comet looked back at her best friend and saw that the box she was in, was slowly coming down. The two friends both looked surprised. Comet gasped and ran over to the glass, pressing his face against it. "Don't worry Marcia, I can just...I can just-" He held up his wand, attempting to do the spell that worked again, but heard Tootsie's laughter in the background.
"Funny of you to think that will work again. The box is twice as stronger your highness." Comet watched as Marcia struggled to push the box back up. Thw box was coming down on her fast. It was then when the prince realized he had to make a final decision, watch his best friend be crushed, or give up the wand. He sighed in defeat and jumped onto the table and threw his wand on Tootsie's plate.
"Let Marci go," he demanded in a shaky voice.
"I don't want your stupid wand. I want you to destroy it."
"WHAT?!" The best friends shouted in unison. Tootsie's facial expression changed into a creepy smiley face that threw Comet off a little. "Surprise!" Her face went straight back to boredom. "Do you really think I'm like Luda?" She looked into her direction and looked back too to see Luda being eaten by one of his chickens in her little army.
"But...I don't know how to destroy the wand!" he told her. Tootsie leaned in forward.
"It's the first spell your mother taught you."
T-the whispering spell...?' Tootsie nodded.
"Well? You're friend is waiting." He looked back at Marcia with tears in his eyes. She looked absolutely petrified. Her time was almost up. Now he looked back at his wand and knelt down to it. As much as he always dreamed of having to hold this wand, he couldn't just give up his best friend for magic. He didn't know how or what he was going to tell his parents, but that didn't matter at the moment, what mattered was his best friend, who is almost about to be crushed to death by a box.
Comet picked up his wand, and apologized to it before casting the whispering spell. The spell turned his wand gray and sucked out all the magic from it. He placed it back onto the plate and a small ghostly warnicorn flew out of it and whispered words into his ears before galloping off in the air. Comet wiped away his tears and looked at Tootsie with pleading eyes. She grabbed the remote and pressed the button again, this time, stopping the box from going down but instead go back up to normal. To box opened a door. Comet directed Buff Frog, who was on the ground to run and he ran over to Marcia, but kicked her down. Now they both were in the box. Comet shut the door and watched as Tootsie evilly grinned at the gray wand. She called over Luda's monster army.
"Ladies, it been a pleas-" Before she could finish her last sentence, the wand began lighting up and shooting a pink beam into the air. Tootsie seemed to know what was happening, yet stood in place while the monster army ran.
"Uh Comet, I think we should run..." Marcia whispered. He held her hand.
"Nah, it's not over just yet." Comet knew they'd be fine since this box was pretty strong. In seconds, the world went white. It all happened so quickly, Luda's castled exploded and was completely destroyed now. Comet and Marcia slowly looked out the door of the box because the rest of it was covered in dirt. She pointed to an egg that was slowly cracking open.
"You're telling me that egg surviv-" Luda came coughing loudly when the egg cracked open. Comet and Marcia looked at her in disgust because she was covered in gooey stuff.
"WHERE"S MY CASTLE?!" She yelled as the best friends exited the box.
"It's gone," answered the prince.
"What about your wand?"
"That's gone too." Luda looked at the two in awe.
"Are you kidding me?! THIS IS WHY WE"RE NO LONGER FRIENDS!" She hollered in her high pitched voice.
"We never were friends," Comet reminded her. Luda rolled her eyes and cut open a portal with her dimensional scissors, leaving just the two friends standing there in the destruction. What distracted them was a loud meteor sound crash and they both went running to where they head the noise. Comet saw his wand, laying hopelessly on the ground, covered in dirt and looked dry as ever. Marcia hugged him from behind because she knew there wasn't really much she could do to help or make things better. His wand he had, for not even a full year was gone now.
The two heard small talking in a different language and looked down to see a horse with a box. The tiny horse opened the box and there lied a horn. It put on it's horn and tied it's mane into a bun somehow with its hooves. The horse slide down the ditch and walked to Comet's wand and went inside, walking down the wand's staircase. Marcia and Comet watched from a distance as the wand sunk into the ground. They both slide down the ditch as well and stopped right in front of where the wand was just at. Marcia stood up, but before she could say anything, crystals began growing around them. One specific crystal grew in front of Comet and had his wand inside. The wand fell into the prince's hands. It felt like it was his first time holding the wand once again. The wand was now different. The colors at least. The biggest difference was the thunderbolt in the middle of his wand which was half gone.
"Upgrade!" Marcia whispered. The ground started shaking, as if it was some earthquake, but they immediately found the cause of it. Just some knights and horses. One of them came down to where they were on a horse and the other ran to hug Marcia.
"Marcia! I am so happy to see you!" she squealed, hugging the girl tightly. Marcia was confused as to who these random people were, hugging her.
"Uh...do I know you?" The knight removed her helmet and smiled.
"Marcia! How could you not know? It is I, your mother!" Marcia smiled in joy and hugged her mother tightly. Her father took off his helmet and got off of the horse he was riding to join the hug. Comet watched as Marcia was being loved by her family. It warmed his heart knowing that she was okay and her family was really happy to see her alive. But then he remembered something.
"Wait...how'd you guys get her-" His words were cut off when another horse walked down the drift with a knight on it's back. The knight removed their helmet. Queen Rivera, the Dragonfly's mother.
"They used your mirror," she replied.
