[Angst alert! But it's got a warm ending :) ]
Kid Flash watched with teary eyes at the unconscious figure on the hospital bed. The reliable doctors had scanned him for any horrible damage or eternal bleeding within the amazing record of five minutes. Wally West was actually fairly knowledgeable about medical health himself and already knew that Elliot Knight would awaken soon, an infinitesimal relief as he was ever so anxious about the upcoming results. Would his dear frenemy be hurt? No matter how much he vehemently tried, Flash couldn't help but think of when he mortifiedly saw the lifeless body of Kyd Wykkyd with blood pouring down his pale face. Wally had pelted towards his limp body and cradled him in his strong arms, completely ignoring the three, dodgy boys fleeing from the famous speedster. With impossible speed, he lifted Kyd bridal style and darted to the hygienic hospital, crying desperately for any assistance. Of course the medical staff had immediately sprang into action. Wally was attempting urgently to force back the disconsolate beginnings of fearful tears whilst he gently held a single yellow lily. Flash tenderly slid it through Elliot's long, black hair, staring caringly at Kyd's pale face, now devoid of any forbidding blood. Wally desired to know so much why Kyd Wykkyd had simply let himself be ruthlessly beaten up- he was perfectly capable of bringing all of those boys to the gloomy ground easily. Wally tightly held Elliot's pale hand, feeling the cool, soft texture of his skin and decided to stare intently at Kyd's concealed hand instead of his limp body. Finally, Flash felt an almost indecipherable twitch in Elliot Knight's hand and he gasped hopefully. Wally felt a melancholy lump in his throat as he looked back to Elliot's face and to his now crooked nose- at least the helpful doctors hadn't taken long to fix that -and hoped sincerely that Kyd wouldn't be bothered by that. Then, Kid Flash witnessed Elliot's amber eyes flutter slightly and heard a soft moan escape his pale lips. Almost immediately, Flash burst into frightened, yet also relieved chatter.
"Ellie! Is your head okay? How could you do that? To me and to you! Please! Are you good?,"Wally burst out panickedly.
"Wally…?,"Elliot mumbled weakly,"Is that a...lily?"
"Yes, yes it is,"Kid Flash laughed relievedly, rubbing his thumb across Kyd's pale palm as he moaned painedly.
Gently, Flash picked the yellow lily out of his luxurious hair and sweetly wrapped it in one of his pale hands, smiling gently until it slowly melted into fearful concern. Elliot jerked his hand away from Wally's with a dreadful look of repulsed pain. Kyd Wykkyd snarled darkly at the yellow lily in his hand and with one look at Kid Flash's alarmed face, did something horribly selfish. He crushed it in his fist without a single care about it. Yellow petals fell to the pristinely white floor, all of them torn and crumpled and the fragile stem was bent and ruined. Wally felt like crying aloud anguishedly, already feeling wretched and betrayed, and he stiffened. Elliot Knight agilely sprung up, stubbornly ignoring his own awful dizziness and throbbing pain in both his stomach and head, and advanced with an emotion Wally had never wished to witness. Fervent wrath. Elliot vexedly dropped the crumpled mess of the yellow lily on Wally's lap, bluntly refusing to acknowledge the dolorous tears sparkling in Flash's blue eyes. That delicate flower had meant so much more than beautiful decoration.
It had meant Elliot Knight.
Elliot was fully aware of this- Wally could clearly see it in his furious amber eyes. This unbridled rage was beyond frightening, as the worst Kid Flash had experienced was intense pique and Flash seemed to be immobilized by that awful fear. That awful fear that shouldn't ever come from Elliot Knight. Wally West completely forgot to breathe as Elliot roughly tugged Wally forwards with the front of his designer shirt and they were inches away from the other.
"Stop! Stop doing this to me! Stop making me want to stay with you! Stop making me put you before my own friends! Stop it! You know why I let them do this to me? Because I picked you over the Hive! I deserved what I got! Every cut, every drop of blood that fell to the ground, every bruise was exactly what I needed. I am a villain. You are a hero. There is no inbetween. You are the light. I am the dark. We don't go together! So just stop! Stop making me want to be with you with all your lies! You know we don't go but you do it anyway and it hurts! It really, really hurts!,"Elliot shouted furiously, at the now sobbing Wally.
"But what if I'm not lying? What if I know we can work? I'm not making you feel anyway- this is you and your life! If you want to stay with me then of course you can! Live in the same apartment if you want! Your friends will always want what is best for you and maybe what you want is best for you!,"Wally weeped passionately, wrapping an arm around Kyd's skinny waist.
Kyd Wykkyd was struggling to uphold his viciously ferocious demeanour. Kid Flash's words were already intoxicating him, tantalizing him with the sweet promise of truth that he couldn't deny.
The two arguing pair evidently hadn't noticed the silence as all eyes were transfixed onto the famous hero being altercated with by a pale, vampire boy that no one had seen before.
Kyd roughly shoved Flash back down on his comfy seat next to where Elliot had initially been unconscious on. However, Wally unexpectedly tugged him down too so that he was sat on his lap, struggling to hold a hissing, wrathful Elliot Knight. Elliot felt like he was being terribly mocked and started to thresh with even more vexed urgency.
Flash leaned over to his pointed ears and whispered uncharacteristically seriously,"Teleport us."
In a split second, the two boys vanished, leaving the whole hospital silent and too stunned to do anything. Suddenly, Jinx sprinted excitedly into the quiet room, clearly relieved and cheerful as she exclaimed brightly.
"Wally! The results are clear, the-Wait...hang on a sec..."
Jinx groaned exasperatedly.
Meanwhile, Wally West was sat opposite Elliot Knight in Kid Flash's unorganised bedroom.
Flash took a shaky breath and sobbed gently,"Elliot. Listen to me. I would never lie to you or ever hurt you. I can see you're confused, but I'd like to make an offer-."
"I don't want to betray my friends, okay? I'm not going to be a Titan,"Elliot hissed defensively,"Jinx-she- she made us al-all so, so sad when she just left us for the enemy. I'm not doing the same."
"No, El. Became a normal person. Get a job. Be yourself...stop hiding from your problems,"Flash offered kindly, gradually impeding his pitiful weeping.
"Be- be - a citizen? No more heroes- or- or villains?,"Kyd breathed surprisedly.
"No. No more Kyd Wykkyd. Just Elliot Knight,"Wally West elaborated caringly,"You aren't going against your friends, or anything and you can stay with us or get a new apartment. I will pay if you want to-."
Kid Flash was interrupted by Elliot tackling him onto the sturdy double bed, hugging him tightly with affectionate purrs. Flash beamed delightedly and held him closely, simply elated at the joyous outcome. He excitedly imagined Kyd- no Elliot -returning from work every day of the busy week, wearing average, civilian clothes and free of the heavy burden of his own villainous expectations. Wally knew that Elliot would just be so much happier: all he required was the obscured doorway and the cheerful speedster had just given him it.
"Can I stay with you and not be a...villain?,"Elliot Knight breathed giddily.
"Yes Ellie, of course,"Flash replied gently.
Abruptly, Wally West felt something shoved under his nose and he curiously touched this unknown item. With a start, he realised Elliot had ruefully given him a single yellow lily, and he pulled back to inspect a dazzlingly smiling Elliot Knight while he beamed appreciatively.
"I am so- so sorry about what I did to the one you gave me,"Elliot stammered anxiously.
"No. Don't be sorry. I should have realized the pressure you were in. I can only imagine trying to please everyone and yourself. I'm sorry, okay?,"Wally assured soothingly, dragging Elliot back into a gleeful embrace.
"You're my best friend, Wally, you really are,"Elliot purred softly, nuzzling his face in Wally's chest.
"D-did you just...call me your best friend?,"Flash asked incredulously.
A broad smile spread over on Elliot's pale face as he continued purring elatedly. He tenderly prised the fragile flower from Wally's dumbfounded grasp and gently threaded it in Kid Flash's flaming ginger hair. Wally West gasped enchantedly as Elliot Knight giggled charmingly as he replied sweetly.
"I think you were hallucinating."
