Natsu, along with Jason, Luna, Nashi, and Zach sat around in a circle, getting to know each other. They wished this could last forever... with their mom as an added equation... but they knew that that was a bit too much to wish for.
"So," Natsu looked at Luna and Jason. "Got any partners?" Then he said to Luna, "if you do, it better be a girl."
Luna blushed as red as a tomato. "Dad!" she whined.
"Neither of us are dating anyone," Jason said with a chuckled, happy with Luna's embarrassment.
"Same to Nashi and Zach," Natsu said. "Although Zach, the youngest, ha, is closer to a girlfriend than any of you!"
This time, it was Zach's turn to blush.
"Ooh, like Ellisa?" Nashi said with a wink toward her younger brother.
"Who's Ellisa?" Luna said with an excited squeal.
"His girlfriend!" Nashi bursted out into fits of giggles.
"No!" Zach insisted. "Shut up! I don't even know an Ellisa!"
"Lies," Nashi whispered to herself.
Jason, once again, chuckled at the uncomfort and embarrassment of another sibling of his.
Luna had stars in her eyes. "That is honestly so cute! Eeeeek! Zach and Ellisa sitting in a tree, K-I--"
"Shut it!" Zach growled, glaring at his older sister, who shrugged innocently in return.
Natsu grinned. It felt, if only for a moment, that their family was almost - but not quite since their is no mother figure around - together.
Just then, their was a loud ringing. A faint tint of pink showed up on Jason's ears as he pulled out his phone. "Sorry," he chuckled awkwardly, this time he is the one feeling uncomfortable and embarress. He checked the caller ID and his eyes widened. "Everyone, stay quiet! It's Mom!"
Jason answered the call. No one could hear what Lucy Heartfillia was saying, all except Natsu Dragneel, and for some reason his daughter, Nashi, who was paling more and more with every word said - for more than one reason.
"Yes, Mom," Jason was saying. Pause. "O-Okay." Pause. "When?" Pause. "Oh, okay." Pause. "Yep." Pause. A super long pause, glaring at the twins. "Luna was well behaved," Jason finally said, but it not being true one bit. Pause. "She's sleeping right now. Very peaceful for me." Pause. A nervous chuckle escaped him. "Okay, bye Mom, see you soon." He hung up.
Jason, Natsu, and Nashi all exchanged horrid stricken looks. Meanwhile, Luna and Zach exchanged looks of confusion.
"What's going on?" Zach finally asked.
"What did Mom want?" Luna voiced her question.
"Mom... is coming home early," Jason said.
"What?" Luna gasped. "When should she be home?"
"Tomorrow," Nashi said. Everyone didn't even comprehend the fact that Nashi heard the conversation, as if she had bat ears or something.
"So you have to leave today," Natsu said, his voice cracking on the last word.
Luna nodded. "I guess we have to go," she said with a regretful sigh. She and Nashi had failed, their dad is still marrying Lisanna in a few days. Nothing that they do can possibly stop that. She gives up.
Jason stood up. "I-I'm going to miss you all. I hope we meet again soon. Love everyone of you."
"Yes, love you all," Luna said, tears falling from her eyes. "Can't wait till we meet again."
"I'm glad I got to meet my awesome children," Natsu said. "Proud of you guys... and just know, I have always loved you."
"I'm going to miss you," Zach sniffed.
"Me too, and I love you," Nashi said. Then looked at Luna. "You're the best twin I could ever ask for."
Luna gave out a sad grin. "Right back at you, my twin."
"Final group hug?" Natsu suggested.
"Again?" Nashi groaned, but she didn't resist when she was pulled into the family group hug, directly next to Luna and Jason.
The hug was nice, even Nashi must admit that. When will she ever be able to hug her twin sister and older brother ever again?
Or smell Luna's cinnamon scent, and Jason's vanilla scent? Don't ask Nashi how she could smell those scents on her siblings, because she honestly does not know, and right now, that was her least concern.
Nashi regretted it when the hug was done. Now it's time for a part of their family to leave.
Jason and Luna looked at each other, and after their final good byes, they left, wondering when they will see their siblings and father again.
Hopefully very soon, but maybe that's just wishful thinking or hoping on their part.
Goodbye, Nashi thought with a sad sigh. For now. We will meet again. We just have to.
