Ducktales – Shadow War Aftermath: Foreshadowing
It's been a 3 days since the events of the shadow war. Magica De Spell is on the run after losing her powers completely, Duckburg is recovering after the war and the Duck/McDuck family are back together again. Donald and the kids have fully made peace and amends with Uncle Scrooge in regards to Della and the Spear of Selene.
The entire family is wearing fresh new clothes after the whole Shadow War ordeal in celebration.
Donald wears his trademark blue sailor outfit again with the red bowtie and yellow lines.
Scrooge is wearing a blue with a folded-down, red collar, red cuffs, and a yellow button near the neck. He kept the jacket shut with a red belt. A black top hat with a red band near the brim sat on his head and he wears pince-nez glasses. He's also wearing red spats on his feet and holds a dark red cane. (1)
Daisy is wearing her trademark purple outfit which she wore when she first came back to Duckburg.
Dewey's hair has grown out a little as he wears a blue buttoned up, half-sleeved shirt with rolled white sleeves coming out and reaching his elbows, collars folded down, a white brim at the bottom and a large light blue stripe around the centre of the shirt. (1)
Huey is wearing a light red vest underneath a red cardigan with the sleeves folded up above his elbows, He also wears a red and white cap larger than his usual one and the face of it has an image of hashtag and happy face. (1)
Louie's hair has also extended and grown out a little as he wears a light green vest underneath a green and white sports jacket with white hood and pockets. Half the sleeves are green and the other half is white. (1)
Webby is wearing a purple t-shirt underneath pinkish-purple overalls with gold buttons reaching above her knees. She's replaced her bow with a purple and yellow flower decoration. (1)
Launchpad is wearing a reddish-brown version of his pilot jacket, a cream scarf, brown spats and a reddish-brown pilot hat complete with goggles. (1)
Beakely is wearing a purple dress with a lavender collar, a whitish-purple apron, lavender socks and dark purple heels. (1)
Workers are fixing up the damage done to McDuck Manor and Beakely and Duckworth have been picking up the leftover pizzas and drinks Scrooge left on the floor after everyone ditched him and the both of them are not liking it. Beakely accidentally steps on some and it sticks to her foot.
Beakely: Ugh…! Disgusting! Was he so broken he never bothered cleaning after himself at all. This entire place is littered with so much Pizza and Pep I'd be surprised if he didn't have scurvy.
Duckworth: Duckworth comes through the wall carrying a pile with him. Well, considering you left Mr McDuck in such a horrendously, emotionally broken state I'm not too surprised.
Beakely: You left him too.
Duckworth: Yes, but I didn't emotionally break him. But it's no matter; I've cleaned far worse than this. Beakely raises an eyebrow.
Beakely: Really?
Duckworth: Yes. Though, it's something I'd rather not talk about.
Launchpad was towing Donald's once again busted up houseboat and this time puts it in the pool properly. It may take a while but it should be fixed up within a couple of months.
Launchpad: I did it!
Daisy was in a room happily writing a letter with a feathered quill.
Daisy: "Dear Mickey, Minnie and Goofy,
It's been a couple of days since the Shadow War and I can happily say that things are back to normal around here…if there ever was a normal for this family. Donald, the kids and Beakely have moved back into McDuck Manor and are settling back in…"
Mickey, Minnie and Goofy were at Disney Town fixing up the damaged done by the shadows. The three of them were wearing casual clothing as they help fix the town.
Mickey was wearing his signature back shirt, white toon gloves, red shorts with white buttons and large yellow shoes.
Goofy was wearing a green marrowbone-like fedora, white toon gloves, an orange sweater, a black vest over the sweater, blue pants and long brown shoes.
Minnie was wearing a pink blouse with puffed short sleeves and covered in white polka-dots at the bottom half, white toon gloves, white bloomers underneath, a matching pink bow with what polka-dots and pink heeled shoes.
The three of them were gathered and reading Daisy's letter.
Daisy: "…Donald and Uncle Scrooge are getting along quite well now, Duckburg is undergoing some big repairs now that unpleasantness of Magica is over and Donald has eased up a lot on being overprotective and has decided to step back and let the boys develop into whoever they want to be. It's take a while but I think this family is on the road of healing. Hope to see you guys again outside of the royal life."
Sincerely,
Daisy.
Mickey, Goofy and Minnie smile at each other joyfully to hear the good news of the family coming together again after Donald, Scrooge and the boys reconciled.
Donald was telling the four kids stories about his adventures with Sora and Goofy in Webby's room and they can't help but have their mouths wide open in amazement as Donald regales the battle the three of them had with Ansem in the realm of darkness.
Donald: …And so Sora busted out me and Goofy from Ansem's giant heartless ship! Together, the three of us fearlessly stared down the monster in his soulless yellow eyes and we fought to the bitter end! I personally went inside the core and tore it apart with an Ultima spell!
Webby: Webby pumps her fists in excitement. Then what happened!?
Donald: Then the three of us fought Ansem himself and together we defeated him with a Trinity attack and through the light of Kingdom Hearts! Then with the help of King Mickey and Riku on the other side we shut the door to Kingdom Hearts and Sora and Mickey sealed it with their Keyblades, bringing Ansem's tyrannical hold over all the worlds to an end!
The 4 of them cheer with joy at their Uncle and his friend's victory over the Heartless.
Webby: That is so awesome!
Dewey: That has got to be one of the most epic stories ever!
Huey: I've got to jot this down in my junior woodchuck guidebook!
Louie: That was amazing! Shame what happened to Mickey and Riku?
Donald: Donald dismisses the concern. Oh, don't worry. His majesty and Riku are tough. They were able to survive the Realm of Darkness and escape.
Huey: Well, that's a relief to hear. Especially, since we just saw Mickey not too long ago.
Webby: Oooh, do you think you can tell us what happened afterwards at night time!?
Donald: Sure, why not?
Louie: Oh man, I gotta get some popcorn ready!
Dewey: We'll be in our rooms putting the rest of our stuff back.
Donald: Take all the time you need.
Huey, Dewey and Louie leave discussing about the amazing world travelling adventures their uncle has been on and how awesome he is, leaving Donald and Webby alone. Donald turns to his adopted niece.
Donald: So, have you fully settled back in Webby.
Webby: Not yet. I just need to sort out my bedroom in the attic and I'm good to go. She pumps both her fists in happiness. I'm just so happy this family is back together and we aren't separating.
Donald: You're gonna be happy for a long time Webs because this family won't separating ever again.
Webby: Hooray! She raises her fists with joy.
Donald: So what's next?
Webby: Huh?
Donald: What are you going to do now that the Shadow War is over and the family is back together? Webby is a little nervous, having never thought of this.
Webby: Gosh, I don't know. The both of them walk over to the board displaying the family structure and information. Dewey and I spent so long investigating the mystery of Della and the Spear of Selene. Now the mystery is solved so I'm not quite sure what I can do.
She tags on a picture of Della she was given by Scrooge next Donald. He draws a connecting line between them then rights twins underneath. He then connects it with the picture of the boys before righting mother next to it.
Webby: Right now, I'm hungry for a new multi-complex family mystery to solve. And I want Dewey to solve it with me. Donald bends down and gives a sly look.
Donald: Are you sure you're not hungry for mystery because you want to spend more time with Dewey.
Webby: Webby freezes and blushes in embarrassment before stammering in her speech. Uh…well…that may be part of it.
Donald gently pats her to assure he was just kidding.
Donald: Don't worry Webby; I'm sure a new mystery will come up eventually. Webby calms down and turns to him.
Webby: You really think so?
Donald: Yeah, you just need to be patient. Sooner or later a new adventure or mystery will call to you before ya know it. That's always been the case for this crazy family.
Webby: That's a good point. Webby then looks down in sadness. I just wish winning against Magica yesterday didn't come at a terrible cost.
Donald lowers his eyebrow in sadness for his niece, having been told what Magica did to Lena. While Donald may not have been as close to Lena as everyone else was he knew her well enough to be a good person who's helped the family. Shadow or not she deserved to have her own life free from Magica.
Donald: I'm sorry about what happened to Lena, Webby. I may not have been close to her like everyone else was but shadow or not she deserved to live out her own life. Webby forces on a small smile.
Webby: It's okay. At least I know she was truly my best friend. I just wish I could tell her that…we won. Her expression saddens again. It feels as though I lost a sister. Donald smiles with compassion.
Donald: You lost a sister, believe me, I know that feeling. If you ever need someone to talk about it, your good old Uncle Donald will be here to comfort you.
Webby in sudden display of tearful emotions tackles her Uncle for a big hug to which Donald returns by wrapping his arms around her and stroking her as Webby lets tears stream down her face.
Webby: Thank you Uncle Donald.
Donald: Don't mention it. He pulls back to smile at his niece. Don't be too sad Webby; Lena won't have truly left you.
Webby: She'll always be a part of me. That's what Dewey said.
Donald: Yeah. She points at her chest. She'll always be right here. Webby raises a confused eyebrow.
Webby: You mean in my lungs.
Donald: What?! No! I meant in your heart! Webby places a hand on her heart.
Webby: My heart? You mean like King Mickey said?
Donald: Yeah. Sora said that about Della when I told him about her in our adventures. Lena may be closer than you think.
In response to that, Lena in her pure energy form emerges besides Webby and places a hand on her friendship bracelet even though neither of them can see her.
Lena: She smiles at Webby and then gratefully smiles at Donald. Donald…
Webby: Lena… She then smiles at the mage. Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks Uncle Donald. I feel a lot better now thanks to you and Dewey.
Donald: Anytime. Donald gets up and proceeds to leave. You might wanna stock up because you're in for a long story at night.
Webby: Webby goes fangirl mode again. Oooh! I can't wait!
The moment Donald leaves Webby secretly walks over to her chest, opens it up and brings out a green book. The front cover says "Myth of the Shadow Realm" and Webby stares at it in determination.
Webby: Hang on Lena, I'm gonna bring you back home…somehow.
Donald walks down through the hallway and arrives at his nephews' bedroom. He opens it up to find Huey on his own making his bed and he stops to smile at his uncle.
Huey: Hey Uncle Donald.
Donald: Hey Huey. So uh…are you boys settling back in okay…?
Huey: Yep, everything is just as I remember it. Took a while but we finally managed to get rid of the pizza stench from this room. Donald walks up to the bed with a smile.
Donald: That's good to hear. Say, where are your brothers?
Huey: Dewey is outside sitting on the rooftop of the manor and Louie… Huey saddens and looks to the wall before the window. …is right there.
Donald looks to see Louie sitting against the wall with an almost tearful expression as he holds Lena's gem and longingly looks.
Huey: I think he's thinking about Lena. He misses her Uncle Donald. I do too.
Donald: So do I. I'll go talk to him.
Donald walks over to his youngest nephew who looks up when hears him walk up.
Donald: Hey, Louie.
Louie: Louie returns his smile before returning his gem to his pocket. Hey, Uncle Donald.
Donald: Donald sits against the wall next to him. Are you holding up okay, kid?
Louie: Yeah, I'm doing fine. I've just been thinking about everything that's happened.
Donald: Tell me about it…it's sure been crazy hasn't it?
Louie: This past week has been crazy, what happened with Mom, the secret of the Spear of Selene, finding out you're a mage, the Shadow War and Magica. It's just a lot to take in.
Donald: Yeah, I know how you feel. But I don't think that's the only thing on your mind. You're thinking about Lena, aren't you?
Louie: Louie's face drops a little. Guess nothing can get by you, huh?
Donald: Donald gives an expression of sympathy. I'm sorry Louie. I know how much Lena truly meant to you. She didn't deserve what Magica did to her.
Louie: It's okay Uncle Donald. I guess…I'm really gonna miss her. Lena was the first girl to truly understand what it's like to be me. Just talking with her always made me happy. We had a connection like what Dewey and Webby have.
Donald: Louie…you had feelings for Lena, didn't you?
Louie: Louie's eyes widen a little and he begins to blush. Uh…well…we were close and all but I wouldn't say we…
Donald: Donald pats his head a little. You don't need to hide it Louie. There's no need to be ashamed of it, you can tell me.
Louie: Louie contemplates it before deeply sighing. Yes, it's true. I love Lena and I really would've liked it if we…became more than just friends. Sure she may have been a shadow but that doesn't matter to me. I only care about who I believe her to be…and to me she was just Lena…the bestest friend I could ever. He puts on a sweet smile. At least in the end I found out that she truly did love me. I just wish I had more time…then I could've told her the same.
Donald: Donald strokes Louie's hair gently as he speaks. Love is capable of working in many different ways. Lena may have been Magica's shadow but she was never a bad person at heart. The true love you showed reached out for her and helped change her. And remember what Mickey and the others said in the Bin, Louie.
Louie: Louie smiles fondly. Lena will never be truly gone. She'll always exist inside my memories…and inside my heart.
Donald: As long as you keep those memories alive Lena will always be with you. She may be closer than you think. You can always talk about her with me whenever you want.
Louie: Yeah, I'd be glad to. Louie smiles gratefully at his father figure. Uncle Donald, thanks.
Donald: Ohhh, don't mention it.
The smile from Louie's face fades however, and he once again frowns sombrely.
Louie: Say, Uncle Donald. Can I ask something?
Donald: Sure what is it?
Louie: Louie sighs heavily. Do you…really think I fit into this family?
Donald is shocked with the question he just heard from his youngest nephew..
Donald: What?! Why would you think that?! Of course you do!
Louie: I'm not so sure that I do Uncle Donald. I mean, adventuring does have its perks like finding treasure, but…I'm not so sure I'm cut out for it anymore.
Donald: Whaddya mean?
Louie: I'm always the one lagging behind. And I thought adventuring would be fun y'know even if going on the death-defying kind of adventures wasn't the ones I had imagined going on? But…after learning about what happened to Mom and…watching Lena die… Louie looks like he's about to have a panic attack. …it-it all suddenly seems too scary.
Seeing the mortified expression on Louie's face saddens Donald and prompts him to put a comforting arm around Louie.
Louie: And if I'm not cut out for adventure, which basically runs in this family… then how do I fit in? Who am I?
Donald: I get how you feel Louie. Back when I adventured with Scrooge and Della before I even became a mage and after my college years, I often wondered where I fit into the family as well, on account of how close the two of them were, my bad luck and the humiliating stunts I was forced to go through before we first went to Ithaquack.
Louie: Really?
Donald: Yeah. It took me a while but…I finally managed to find my place and see that Della and Scrooge did still care about me. He then gives the evil triplet a fond smile. And I can tell you this Louie: You are part of this family. You always have been and always will be. You're place in the family is actually quite special.
Louie: It is? Why?
Donald: You'll find out soon and when you do, you'll feel better.
Louie: You really think so?
Donald: Donald smiles warmly. I know so.
Louie takes time to absorb the words of his uncle before looking back to him with a bright smile, feeling much better after hearing these words of comfort.
Louie: Thanks, Uncle Donald.
Both Donald and Louie wrap their arms around each other for a father-son hug, Louie takes great comfort in the presence of his father-figure. Unbeknownst to them, the gem in Louie's pocket was glowing purple which signified something important.
Daisy is waking through the corridor and stops when she almost passes Webby's room. Seeing that its open prompts her to walk inside to see Webby reading a book while sitting on one of her treasure chests.
Daisy: Webby?
Webby: Oh! Webby quickly hides her book before giving her greetings. Hi Mrs Duck.
Daisy: What were you doing just now?
Webby: Just reading something. I wanted to take my mind off some things.
Daisy nodded before noticing sadness form on Webby's usually energetic face. She walks over and sits on the chest next to her with a compassionate expression.
Daisy: Webby? Are you ok?
Webby: Y-Yeah… I-I'm ok it's just…Webby deeply sighs in sadness as she thinks about the events that have occurred over the week. So much has happened this week. The fight on the Sunchaser, losing my best friend, nearly dying in the Shadow War… She looks down. …it's really a lot to take in.
Daisy: Daisy brings Webby into a sidehug. Aww, Webby. I know it's a lot to take in. Believe me. Daisy gives the pink-loving duck a kind smile. But I know everything's gonna be ok in the end and you know why?
Webby: Webby then looks up at her in sad interest. Why?
Daisy: Because you have the best family right by your side to help you through it all. And whenever you need them they'll always be there for you thick and thin.
Although she's still a little sad Webby manages to force a small smile on her face.
Webby: Thank you Mrs. Duck.
Daisy: No problem. She looks at Webby in sympathy when she thinks about her loss. And I'm sorry for what happened to Lena. I wish I could've met her. Despite being Magica's creation, she sounded like a really great kid and I could tell she was truly precious to you.
Webby: Webby smiles gratefully for the sympathy. She really was. My first best friend that was a girl, she was like an older sister to me and I loved her so much. And so did the boys…especially Louie…
Daisy: Daisy nods in agreement. I could tell.
Webby: Webby frowns when she thinks about the romantic relationship between Louie and Lena. I just feel really bad for Louie. She loved Lena just as much as I did, maybe even more. It must be tearing him apart from inside.
Daisy: Don't worry. He'll always have you and his brothers to cheer him up, including me, Donald, Uncle Scrooge, all of us.
Webby: Webby manages to sweetly smile once again. Yeah, I guess you're right. And I really gotta say Mrs. Duck, you were really amazing out there when you fought Magica..
Daisy: Daisy becomes flattered and her smile is wider. Why thank you Webby, that's really sweet of you. And hey, you were just as amazing out there too. Dewey told me how you and Louie caught Magica off guard and how you gave her such a hard time before she transformed. I was really impressed.
Webby: Webby blushes from the flattering comment of Donald's girlfriend. I-I'm honoured that you think so Mrs. Duck.
Daisy: Daisy gives a slight giggle. Oh Webby, you know you don't have to call me that anymore!
Webby: What do you mean?
Daisy: Daisy smiles sweetly as she gently stroked Webby's hair. Call me Aunt Daisy. You've earned it, just as the boys did a long time ago.
Webby has her beak wide open in shock before tears of joy well up in her eyes from Daisy's kind words and her giving Webby the same honour Donald and Scrooge gave. Unable to contain her emotions she jumps forward to wrap her arms around Daisy for a hug.
Webby: I'm Webby.
Webby sobs hysterically into Daisy's shirt. The lady-in-waiting smiles comfortingly and sweetly as she wraps her arms around Webby, returning the hug and at the same time rubbing her back in comfort.
Daisy: It's okay Webby. Let it all out. Everything will be okay; we'll always be here for you.
Scenes shift to the rooftop where Dewey lies down on his back and his hands behind his head. He gazes at the clouds above him with a blank expression.
Donald: You know your mother and I used to relax up here a lot whenever we could.
Dewey turns to see his Uncle sat down next to him with a smile which makes him sit up.
Dewey: Uncle Donald?
Donald: I was told I'd find you here.
Dewey: Dewey smiles back. I just needed to clear my head after everything that's happened.
Donald: Crazy week, huh?
Dewey: Yeah, you said it…so much stuff has happened this week… it's kind of scary, y'know?
Donald: Donald nods as he pats Dewey's shoulder. Yeah. I know it's a lot to take in.
Dewey: …What happened to Mom, our big fight, realizing our mistakes, you being a mage and your adventures with Goofy and that Sora kid, fighting Magica, learning Lena's origin… Dewey couldn't help but look like he's about to cry. …and her sacrifice…
Donald places a comforting hand onto his back. Even though they weren't close to Lena as Webby and Louie were, they still liked her and were saddened by her death.
Dewey: I'm really gonna miss her Uncle Donald. I may not have been as close to Lena as Webby and Louie were but…she was still a sister…to me and Huey.
Donald: I know. I'm gonna miss her too. He gives Dewey a smile. But as long as we remember her, she'll always be with us…just like your mom.
Dewey smiles, knowing that's true and that he'll always remember Lena and Della even though he's never met the latter.
Dewey: Yeah…you're right. Dewey then frowns in guilt, remembering how he in particular hurt his Uncle. Uncle Donald, I'm sorry for snapping at you the way I did after that stuff on the Sunchaser. And I know Huey and Louie feel the same. I guess… He looks down in grief and sadness. …after finally knowing about what happened to Mom, it just seemed like a lot to take in. And…I was just so hurt by having been lied to for so long about her that I didn't know what to think. I should've realized that you were hurting too. She was our Mom, but she was your twin sister…your best friend. She was all you had after grandma and grandpa died. And we never considered your feelings as well.
Donald smiles before nodding acceptance in acceptance at his middle nephew's apology.
Donald: Thanks Dewey. His face turns into that of guilt and regret. But that doesn't mean I was right to do what I did either. I should've been honest with you kids. I was hurting and the memories were hard, but you boys deserved to know the truth as well. She was the one who laid you guys when you were eggs and she really was looking forward to being a Mom after one last adventure. I thought I was sparing you the pain of not having a mother, but I was a only sparing myself. I was only thinking about how I felt like after Della disappeared and I never considered how Scrooge felt. We both…well, we all lost someone important to all of us that day.
Dewey: Dewey gives him a comforting, sorry look. But you were hurting. We all were.
Donald: I know. He chuckles a little bit. I guess were both similar than we thought: stubborn and only thinking of ourselves.
Dewey: But thanks to Daisy, Beakely, Webby and Launchpad, we all learned how wrong we were and we're learning from our mistakes.
Donald: Yeah. And Dewey… He gives him a soft expression as he strokes his hair. …you don't have to keep secrets to feel special. You're special just the way you are.
Dewey sighs in guilt, remembering how he kept the investigation of the Spear of Selene a secret from his brothers and how heartbroken and betrayed they felt when they found out what he'd been doing without them. He and his brothers had told their uncle about this.
Dewey: I know that. I just wanted to protect my brothers from the truth. Being special wasn't the idea, even if it did made feel like that. I wanted to protect them from the truth as well. Dewey gives Donald a big smile. Maybe you're right…the two of us are more alike than we think.
Donald: Yeah. But we both learned how keeping secrets like this affected our families. But at least we learned from it and are trying to make things better.
Dewey: Yeah. Thanks Uncle Donald.
Donald: Donald returns his smile. You too Dewey.
With that said both Donald and Dewey wrap their arms around each other for a father-son hug. They pull back to smile at each other.
Donald: You know, maybe you should go talk Webby. She's been a bit down in the dumps lately.
Dewey: Dewey saddens thinking about how less energetic Webby's ever since Lena's died. Yeah, I've noticed. She really misses Lena, she was the first friend she ever made that was a girl and now she's gone. They were best friends.
Donald: Maybe she could use some private cheering up from her other best friend…you.
Dewey: Dewey smiles and blushes a little. I'll go do that.
Dewey gets up to go and climb down the ladder leading back into the manor. As for Donald he stays seated on the roof and reaches into his pocket, taking out silver Walkman. He connects some earphones too it and then places a cassette inside it. He puts the earphones in his ear and turns on the Walkman. The device begins playing the music "Footloose" and Donald takes great comfort in listening to his song.
Daisy walks through the corridor again and runs into Dewey along the way who greets her with a smile.
Dewey: Hey Aunt Daisy.
Daisy: Oh! Hi Dewey! Say, have you seen Donald anywhere? I've been meaning to check up on him.
Dewey: Dewey jerks a thumb to the back. Uncle Donald? He's sitting on the rooftop? I'd just talked to him recently about some stuff.
Daisy: Okay, thanks Dewey.
Dewey: Say, is Webby still in her room?
Daisy: Yeah, I'd just been there.
Dewey: 'Kay thanks.
Donald was still sat on the rooftop at ease as he listened to the music coming from his walkman, with an expression of peace and relaxation.
Daisy: Hey, handsome.
A surprised Donald takes off his earphones and smiles when she sees his girlfriend stand next to him.
Donald: Hiya toots.
Daisy: Mind if I sit next to you?
Donald: He quickly puts his walkman in his toon space before motioning next to him. Go right ahead.
Daisy: Daisy happily sits next to him. So what are you doing up here Donald?
Donald: I thought I'd talk to Dewey and I needed a place to clear my head. This was one of mine and Della's favourite spots.
Daisy: I remember I would sit with you guys here every now and then since we were kids. They look to the city in their view. It has a great view of the city. And it's good place for cloud or star gazing.
Donald: Yeah. He looks down solemnly. You know Daisy…I've been thinking… Daisy looks at him in concern. What do you think is gonna happen now?
Daisy: What do you mean Donald?
Donald: Now that I'm back on adventures and Scrooge and I have amends what do you think is in store for us?
Daisy: I'm not really sure Donald. No one can really predict the future. Why do you ask?
Donald: Now that I'm going on adventures again I'm likely to meet new people, only…I'm not sure if I can really make any new friends.
Daisy: This takes Daisy aback. Huh!? Why would you think such a thing, Donald!?
Donald: I ditched Uncle Scrooge and cut off all ties with him Daisy. I've spent 10 years of my life as a captive to the past, to what happened to Della. Plus, when I first met Sora, I never truly cared about him at all. I just cared about what I was supposed to do without any regards to how much Sora needed to find Riku and Kairi. And when Riku was offered to join our team the first time…I completely turned him away without second thoughts. I didn't feel I could trust anyone again after what happened to Della. And then the keyblade temporarily chose Riku I threw away everything I'd been through with Sora and completely abandoned him…just like I had abandoned Uncle Scrooge all those years ago. When I think about all that…I'm not sure if I can make connections with anyone anymore. I'm not Sora or Della or Scrooge.
Daisy smiles sweetly at her boyfriend while placing a gentle hand on his shoulder and gazing at the clouds.
Daisy: Oh Donald. How could someone so brave and strong be such a coward from time to time?
Donald: Hey!
Daisy: When you fought Magica I watched you do your very best to make good on faith and support we had put in you. Despite the pain you were going through you kept getting back up to protect us. Wasn't that the start of something? She smiles at Donald. …A brand new connection between you and me, Uncle Scrooge, the boys, Webby, everyone?
Donald: I…hadn't thought of that before.
Daisy: I think you can build connections Donald and you can do it in your own way. You don't have to be Sora or anyone else to build them. And as for Sora and Riku you've changed a great deal since then. You got to know Sora and showed care for him even if it wasn't like that at first, no can blame you for losing the ability to trust others after losing someone so precious to you and while it's true you and Goofy abandoned Sora you did it because you didn't want to betray Mickey. But in the end you both followed your hearts and did what you felt was right for your friend. Mickey was proud of you for that and so was Minnie…and especially me.
Donald: Donald contemplates on her words before giving a smile. Daisy…thank you…
Daisy: Huh? For what Donald?
Donald: For helping me re-discover myself and remember who I truly am. And for reminding why I loved adventures so much. It was your support combined with everyone else's that gave me the boost in confidence that I needed to defeat Magica. And become the Donald Duck you know and love so much.
Daisy: Daisy blushes and gives a flattered smile. Of course Donald. I love you so much. I will always be there for you… just like how you're always there for me. She looks down in guilt. And I know I've been a terrible girlfriend in the past to you Donald. She smiles sweetly and gratefully. But despite all that…you gave me a second chance. Thank you.
Donald: You don't need to thank me for that Daisy. It's the least I could do since you gave me so many chances in the past.
Daisy: I'm glad I did. And I promise I'll do my best to be the girl you met in that elevator all those years ago…the girl you fell in love with…
Donald: Donald gives Daisy a romantic smile. You don't need to do that Daisy. You're already that person and I love you just the way you are.
Daisy: Daisy places a hand over her heart, touched. Aww! Thank you Donald!
Donald: And Daisy. If there's ever a time you want me change who I am again or…get rid of my temper, I promise I'll put in the effort for you.
Daisy: Daisy responds by rubbing his face gently. Oh, Donald. That's so sweet of you to say…but I don't want you to change anymore. I love you for who you are too. And I always will.
And with that said the Duck Couple lean forward toward one another to embrace in a warm and passionate kiss under the bright sunlight.
Webby was continuing to read her Myth of the Shadow Realm Book until she hears a knock on her door, prompting her to calmly open her chest and hide it inside.
Webby: Come in.
Dewey: The door opens and Dewey pokes his head in. Webby?
Webby: Webby jumps down and smiles at the sight of Dewey. Oh! Hi Dewey!
Dewey: Am I disturbing anything?
Webby: Not at all, come in.
Dewey: Dewey walks inside and closes the door behind her before going up to Webby. I just wanted to check up on you. Are you doing okay?
Webby: Webby coolly dismiss his concern with a hand wave. Oh, yeah. Totally! I just unpacked the last of my stuff and soon I'll sort out my bedroom.
Dewey: It's been a pretty crazy 6 months, huh?
Webby: They are not standing opposite of each other smiling sweetly. Yeah, it sure has. All those adventures, investigating your Mom, that fight in the Sunchaser, us leaving Uncle Scrooge, the Shadow War, finding out Donald is a mage, Magica, all of it.
Dewey: Yeah. Though, I gotta say, you were pretty awesome out there against Magica.
Webby: Webby blushes a little from the compliment. Gee, thanks. You were pretty amazing against her yourself Dewey. And you're a great leader too.
Dewey: Now Dewey's the one blush. Thanks. And Webby, there's something I wanna say.
Webby: What is it Dewey?
Dewey: I just wanna say…thank you.
Webby: Of course! Webby double-takes after registering Dewey's sudden gratitude. …For what?
Dewey: Dewey smiles at her gratefully. For helping me figure out what happened to Mom. You stood by my side all those times we were cracking the mystery. The library, Ithaquack, and on the plane, all those times you never left my side and I really appreciate it.
Webby: Webby smiles bashfully. Aww…you don't have to thank me Dewey. I was happy to help you. I wasn't about to let you be feel crushed about not knowing anything about your Mom.
Dewey: Must've been exciting, huh? Finally learning something new about our family history?
Webby: Yeah it was. She then looks away sheepishly. Although… it wasn't just for that.
Dewey: What do you mean? What other reason did you have?
Webby: I also did it because… She warmly smiles at her crush. …I wanted to spend time with you.
Dewey: Dewey was surprised. You mean it?
Webby nodded sheepishly as she placed her hands behind her back.
Webby: Yeah. I-I really like hanging with you.
Dewey smiles, blushing and turning his head slightly while scratching the side of it a little.
Dewey: Thanks Webby…and to be honest…I really like hanging with you too.
Webby blushes as well and her smile becomes sweeter and wider.
Webby: Thanks, that's really sweet.
Soon her face drops in sadness and she deeply sighs as she looks at her friendship bracelet. Dewey notices and puts a hand on her shoulder.
Dewey: Lena will always be with you Webby.
Webby: Webby smiles gratefully. As long I keep her in my memories and in my heart, right?
Dewey: Yeah. He then places his hands on both hers and holds them up. And also, I meant what I said before Webs, you'll always have another best friend in me. Along with Launchpad…you're my best friend…you'll never be alone because I'll always be there for you and I'll do my best to keep you happy. I promise.
Webby sniffs as she tearfully smiles at Dewey for his kind words. She sobs quietly before jumping into him, spinning him and wrapping his arms around him for a big hug much to his surprise but he gladly returns the hug and they're in an embrace.
Webby: Thank you Dewey. That means so much to me! You're my best friend! One of the greatest I could ever ask for!
Dewey: I'm just glad I could bring back your smile.
Webby: Webby pulls back with a touched expression. Aww! That's sweet! You're going to make me blush.
With that said she leans forward to place a big, deep kiss on his cheek that makes Dewey blush and reel back in surprise. Webby notices his expression, making her giggle and blush too. The both of them let go of their nerves and warmly smile at one another before hugging once again.
As for Scrooge he is sat down in his office having a cup of tea and listening to his favourite soothing music after cleaning up the place, happy to know that he's finally made up with his family and can finally move on from the Spear of Selene which has haunted her for years. He drinks down his tea until he opens his eyes to see Donald come through the door.
Scrooge: Aah, Donald.
Donald: Hi Uncle Scrooge.
Scrooge: What can I do for you on this fine morning?
Donald shuts the door and comes in looking a little nervous but forces on a smile.
Donald: I need to ask your advice for something Uncle Scrooge.
Scrooge: What is it you want to ask lad?
Donald: Well, now that the family is all back together again I've been wondering…what's next for us? What do you think will happen to us now?
Scrooge: That's a good question. I've actually been asking myself that from time to time.
Donald: Really, you have?
Scrooge: Aye. But I can't predict the future. So instead of trying to figure that which is out of our hand its best to let it all develop naturally.
Donald: I guess. It's just; I'm worried if I'm ever going to be able to learn how to trust others again and form connections with them. I know you and I have made up now and it's all behind us…but I've spent the past 10 years as a prisoner to the past…to what happened to my sister and isolated myself from most of the world. I doubt I can build connections with anyone.
Scrooge: Scrooge warmly smiles at his nephew. I know how you feel lad.
Donald: You do?
Scrooge: Of course. Don't forget…after the Spear of Selene I became an old miser. I too have been a prisoner to the past but…I'm not gonna let that hold me captive anymore. A thing I've learnt is that we can't control who we were in the past…but what we can do is control who we become in the future.
Scrooge can tell that Donald is still feeling quite doubtful by seeing the anxious and worried expression on his face. He leans forward continuing to smile compassionately.
Scrooge: Let me tell you something, lad. Throughout out my adventures before I took you and your sister in, I never knew who I could trust in this world, or any other for that matter. But I learned that the true people you can trust are the ones you truly care about…your family and the people you know as your friends. And given your adventures with me and Della, as well as Goofy and Sora, you learned how to trust others...If there's anything I'm proud of, it's the fine man you've grown up to be. And I have faith that you're gonna be ok in the future and build stronger connections than you ever have before in your way.
Donald: Donald smiles, touched by his Uncle's words. You really think so Uncle?
Scrooge: Scrooge returns his smile. I guarantee it!
Donald: Thanks Uncle Scrooge.
Scrooge: Don't mention it lad. Though I can tell that this wasn't the only thing you wanted to talk about.
Donald: Donald chuckles a little. You always were perceptive. You're right, there is something else I wanted to talk Scrooge, do you remember how great we felt after we made amends a couple of days ago, all the unconditional love?
Scrooge: More than you'll ever no lad. I'll remember that feeling always.
Donald: Good, because I need you to hold onto the feeling for the really disturbing thing I need to tell you. It's about…'them'.
Scrooge gasps from realizing what he's talking about. He immediately shuts his window and brings down a blindfold before pressing a button underneath his desk that activates a steel door and puts the room on lockdown. Donald brings a seat and sits down.
Scrooge: Are you talking about-?
Donald: Yeah, the "Stones." I sensed another one in Magica's staff.
Scrooge: What!? Are you sure?
Donald: Absolutely! When the two of us clashed our staffs I could always feel opposing energies resonate with each other, causing an explosion. The energy I sensed coming from Magica's staff was similar to the energy signature from my staff. He holds out his hand and Save the Queen is summoned. We both know that embedded deep within my staff is…
Scrooge: A stone. It's what gives your staff a form of intelligence, allowing it to choose you as its worthy wielder and call out to you from what I heard.
Donald: And then there's the one Della and I found in El Dorado that reverses time. As I recall it's in Gyro's hands for safekeeping.
Scrooge: That's right.
Donald: And now we found out there's another stone in Magica's staff. I'm sure of it; otherwise our weapons wouldn't have resonated like that. I tried looking for the amulet but it seems to have vanished.
Scrooge: Someone must've found it before we did. Scrooge walks to the window with his hands behind his back and a deadly serious expression. Hopefully they'll see as some sort of accessory and not a magical artefact.
Donald: That's three stones we've encountered. This can't be a coincidence Uncle Scrooge. It feels as though someone's playing an intricate game and has made pawns of us. Donald looks down in worry. Or maybe it's just Duck family paranoia. Scrooge turns back to his nephew.
Scrooge: No! You're right lad. Someone may be making pawns out of us to get these stones. These stones are likely to attract darker forces a thousand times worse than Magica. There are 6 in existence, if all of them fall into the wrong hands there's no telling what kind of damage could happen to the world.
Donald: Should we warn the kids and everyone else. Scrooge contemplates it but makes his decision.
Scrooge: No. It's best not to worry them. For now let's let things play out. I'll need to have Gyro strengthen defences at me money bin and prepare for the end of the world if it is to happen. We may have survived Magica but these stones falling into the wrong hands will be deadlier.
Donald nods in agreement. Whatever these stones Donald and Scrooge are talking about it's clear they will be deadly to the whole world if they fall in the wrong hands.
Donald opens another door in the top corridor, revealing it to be Donald and Della's old room when they were kids. Two beds on opposite sides with a desk at the front centre beneath a window. The room is empty now ever since they got a new better room after becoming adults. The only thing left is a jukebox in front of Donald's bed. He sits down on his bed and takes out the brown package Della had left for him.
For years he felt he didn't deserve to open it due to feeling guilt over his words to Della before she left and at the same time the resentment he felt towards his sister for abandoning him. But after everything that's happened, the touching conversation he had with Della in his mind and the support she gave him despite not being with him in person he finally feels at peace enough to open up the package.
(2) Inside it a tape and a closed letter, Donald opens up the latter while holding the tape. He hears Della's voice speaking in his head.
Dear Donald,
If you're reading this, then that means my little test run didn't go as I had hoped and something terrible happened. I know what you're thinking…You told me so; I should've listened to you. I want you to know that…I'm so sorry about our argument and I'm so sorry for the awful thing I said. It was wrong of me to make it seem like your dreams meant nothing compared to mine. I was just so angry because…I couldn't accept that what you said was true. In all the times we've adventured with Uncle Scrooge, I've never really faced the problems of responsibilities that much…except for the times I've hurt your feelings. And then when I laid those 3…I felt…everything would change. I was afraid…I was afraid that my new responsibilities as a Mom…would take my dream of adventuring from me. Don't get me wrong! I'm happy to have kids and I really wanted to show them what the world has to offer. I just couldn't accept the changes that would happen. That's why I took the rocket…I just wish I'd knew had badly things could go. Whatever happens to me…I'm counting on you to take care of my boys. There's no one else I can trust.
I'm so sorry, Donnie. It isn't fair; I shouldn't be placing such a big burden on you and Uncle Scrooge just to fulfil my own selfish desires. But I felt I had to go on this one last adventure. But I want you to know this…whatever happens to me outer space I'll always love you. You're twin brother Donald…the best and most reliable brother I could ever ask for. You're my best friend…my other half…my Mage of Thunder…my hero. You always have, always will be. And remember…no matter how far apart we are…we're the Duck Twins. That's how it will be forever.
Love,
Della
P.S. Ducks Don't Back Down!
P.P.S. The tape has some music not even Mom was able to find. If you ever feel the need to, play it, it'll make you feel better.
After reading the last letter of his twin sister Donald looks up to cry out tears of joy that stream down his face, touched by his sisters apology, her faith in him, what she truly thinks of him and her final gift. For the first time in a long time Donald feels truly at peace.
Donald: Thanks you…Della.
Honouring his sister's memory, Donald holds up the tape and places it inside the jukebox. He turns on the device and within a couple seconds it plays an old music that's brand new to him.
Ain't no mountain high enough
Listen, baby
Ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low
Ain't no river wide enough, baby
Donald listens to the song with a blank expression at first which then turns almost tearful, already loving the song. It was at this moment Daisy walked inside the room and stops a couple of distances in front of Donald who turns to see his girlfriend smiling at him with her hands playfully behind her back.
If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry
Donald returns her smile, happy to have her company. The Lady-in-waiting listens to Donald's new music and her sweet smile becomes wider from listening to it. She slightly moves her head around, getting into the rhythm of the song.
'Cause baby,
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you
Scenes now shift to the Gyro's repaired lab in the Money Bin. Fenton is energetically creating a new Gizmoduck armour after Donald trashed his old one, Manny is carrying some boxes as he walks and Gyro happily looks over some blueprints for a new invention with Lil'Bulb.
No wind, no rain
Mickey hammering some nails into a wooden board while wearing a builder's hat. She wipes some sweat off until an orange juice is handed over to him.
Oh, winter's cold,
can't stop me, baby, na, na, baby,
'Cause you are my goal...
If you're ever in trouble,
I'll be there on the double,
Just send for me, oh baby.
He turns his head to see Minnie holding her own glass of orange juice as she giggles. Mickey smiles and chuckles before taking the juice and Minnie plants a kiss on his cheek that makes him blush. The moment is disturbed when Goofy falls from above and crashes onto Mickey, spilling the juice all over them. They're both in comical dog pile and Minnie suppresses the urge to laugh as they both give sheepish smiles. Soon the three of them burst into laughter and it becomes more joyful when Pluto runs up to lick the juice of Mickey's face, making him laugh more as rubs his loyal dogs face.
My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I'll be there on the double
As fast as I can…
A new jeep filled with luggage is loaded into the recovered and repaired Sunchaser. Everyone is inside the cockpit right near pilot and co-pilot seat. Donald and Launchpad are seated in front while Scrooge, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby and Beakely stand right by them. Daisy climbs up the ladder and walks to everyone. She stands right next to Donald and leans by his seat. The family gets ready to take off for their vacation in Macaw which was ruined almost a week ago.
Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you…
Dewey: So we're heading off to Macaw, right Uncle Scrooge?
Scrooge: That's right, lad. We're gonna pick off from where we left off.
Webby: Ooh! I can't wait!
Huey: With the manor getting fixed and Duckworth cleaning up the remaining mess I think it's safe to say we've earned a real vacation.
Beakely: Beakely switches her glasses for her sunglasses. And this time we're going to follow safety precautions, aren't we McDuck.
Louie: And not die in the process.
Scrooge smiles in response before looking to Launchpad who looks deep in thought.
Scrooge: Alright, Launchpad, take to the skies!
Launchpad: Actually… They become confused with Launchpad's thinking expression.
Dewey: LP. You okay?
Launchpad: I've been thinking…I love piloting the Sunchaser and all… He aims a bright and kind smile at Donald. …but today, I think we should give Mr D, the honour of piloting this bird today.
Donald widens his eyes and turns to Launchpad in shock.
Donald: ME!? You want me to pilot the plane!?
Everyone looks to each other smiling and cross-talking in agreement, understanding the reasons behind Launchpad suggestion and feeing Donald has earned the right.
Scrooge: I don't see why not.
Daisy: I agree 100%! Donald should pilot!
Beakely: Absolutely!
Dewey: Oh, yeah! Do it, do it!
Webby: That's a great idea!
Huey: He's definitely earned it!
Louie: Better Uncle Donald than Launchpad!
Donald: Are you guys sure?
Donald feels Scrooge place a hand on his shoulder while giving an encouraging smile.
Scrooge: Go on lad. You've earned it. Do it for her.
Donald smiles while he looks at Scrooge, then Daisy and Beakely, Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby and lastly Launchpad. All of them are giving Donald smiles of kindness and encouragement. Feeling touched by their support in him Donald grabs the wheel.
Donald: So then, what do you guys want to do after Macaw? Something good? Something bad? Bit of both?
Daisy: Daisy just gives a sweet smile. We'll follow your lead…Mage of Thunder.
Donald: Donald smiles in response. Bit of both!
Jackson 5 – I Want You Back
And with that said the engines activate and the propellers start to turn outside.
Donald raises his fist in excitement as he makes the same declaration his uncle did the first time.
Donald: TO OUR GREATEST ADVENTURE YET!
Everyone: WOO-HOO! TO ADVENTURE!
The Sunchaser takes off into the sky and the Duck-McDuck family begin their true adventure to Macaw. The first chapter of their lives together close and now a new chapter open for them, ready to face whatever the unknown has in store for them together.
THE DUCK AND MCDUCK FAMILY WILL RETURN!
A couple of hours later as Donald flies the plan through the sky Louie is sat down on some of the seats playing with his phone while Webby is sat near him reading Myth of the Shadow Realm. Lena appears and sits in between them with a fond smile. When she sees the book Webby's reading she becomes touched.
She then scoots over to Louie and with a romantic smile she places her hand on his. Lena listens to the music and begins getting into the beat. She dances about, moving her shoulders up and down and whipping her hair every time she turns her head. She freezes when Louie looks in her direction, like he can see her.
After 10 seconds of staring Louie gets back to his phone and Lena continues to dancing to the beat while Louie just smiles from feeling her presence even though he can't see her. (2)

Meanwhile, at the wreckage of the Spear of Selene, Della has her goggles on and is using a torch on pieces of metal to put her ship back together. She has been working day and night to make repairs to her ship, though it looks like she's barely started and the area around is so broken up it's like she's been fighting a war. She stops to wipe some sweat from her forehead.
Della: That's one part of the Spear complete…but I've still got a lot to do. Think I'll take a little break.
Della is outside right now using the moons no-gravity atmosphere to jump high in the air. Somehow she's miraculously breathing in the moon which has no oxygen whatsoever. She sits on the edge of the crater and sadly stares out into to blue globe she accidentally left behind. She takes out a picture of her, Donald and Scrooge in front of her kids when they were just eggs. She lets a lone tear drip onto it but at the same time smiles.
Della: My boys have been growing up without me…without their Mom…she stares back at the Earth. Donald, Scrooge, kids…I know I let you all down by leaving the way I did, even if it was an accident. I wish I was strong enough to choose my family over adventure. But I promise…I'll make it up to you…all of you.
Another tear wells but she holds it in with a determined expression before jumping down to continue repairs on her ship.
Unbeknownst to anyone, deep in the moon lays a sort of a large hidden chamber. On one side of it lays a room and in that room is a green humanoid alien wearing a gold cape wrapped around his chest. It's held together by a green orb in the centre and is connected to gold undies. He wears gold gloves and a helmet.
He stonily watches the news on some sort of virtual screen which appears in front of some sort of virtual version of Earth. It's the same news Della saw yesterday. On a separate screen is Della continuing her Spear of Selene project tirelessly.
Roxanne: And so Duckburg is saved thanks to Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck and their family.
Donald, Scrooge and the rest of the family stand in front of the bin happily reunited. The alien watches this without showing much emotion. He mainly focuses on Donald and Scrooge and Della on the other screen.
Alien: Donald Duck, The biggest threats to my plans for destroying the Earth. As is his Uncle Scrooge McDuck. Luckily with all the research I've been doing that will not be the case. He then turns to Della's screen. Della Duck, she will be the key in ensuring my plans to reach Earth are successful, I just need to obtain her full trust and get her to stay here to obtain what I need. These Earthers won't know what hit them once Lunaris arrives on Earth!
The alien called Lunaris then presses a couple of buttons and gets rid of the news screen to replace it with a virtual revealing 6 different coloured crystals: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple and Orange. A tick overlaps the purple and blue stone. He evilly smiles at the screen.
Lunaris: I already have two, the stones with the ability to control "space" and focus raw "power" into destruction, just 4 more to go.
Lunaris enlarges the image of the yellow stone and next to it is Donald's Save the Queen Staff.
Lunaris: This stone with the power to control "minds" and give an object a form of intelligence, lies deep within the staff Save the Queen which currently belongs to Donald Duck.
He switches to the green stone and next to it appears an image of a bathtub with clock-related technology on it.
Lunaris: The stone with power over "time" is protected inside Scrooge's money bin, being used as a power source for a strange time machine.
Lunaris shifts to the red stone and next to it appears Magica's amulet.
Lunaris: And finally, after cycles of research, the stone which has the ability to shift "reality" is inside the amulet of Magica De Spell.
He then shifts to the orange stone and the words "location unknown" overlaps it though he does not seem to mind.
Lunaris: A pity I'm unable to find the stone with the power over one's "soul" but I can wait a bit longer. For now, all the pieces are in play for my ultimate plan. Soon I shall have all…the Infinity Stones.
Lunaris goes over to a gold double edged blade which shines and gleams despite there not being any sunlight. He checks the edges and ensures they're incredibly sharp.
Lunaris: With this blade Donald Duck's magic will be useless against me. He puts it back against the wall.
He then walks over to what appears to be a golden gauntlet on display that's surrounded by a small force field. The gauntlet has 6 holes; two of them already contain the purple and blue stone. Lunaris then types in a few codes and the force field releases, he grabs the gauntlet with a sinister smile and puts it on. Both stones glow in response and release an eerie sound. Lunaris jumps on an obscure gold structure and looks at the Earth in disdain.
Lunaris: My father may have feared you…but I am not him. Instead I will make you fear me…He raises the gauntlet in the air with tyrannical determination. For…I am the Mighty! I AM THE MOON!
The Infinity stones, 6 crystals that control an essential aspect of the universe. In good hands these stones could save the universe but in the wrong hands they'll cause complete and utter destruction. And right now, two of those stones are literally in the wrong hands, the hands of a tyrant who's bent on destroying Earth.
The end...
The whole Family is back together and begin a new chapter in their lives! Della is trying her hardest to get back home to her family!
But unbeknownst to them a new threat lurks on the Moon and it intends to use the power of the 6 Infinity Stones to destroy them and the entire Earth! Will the Family be ready for Lunaris? Will Della make it home?
Time for me to get back to Season 2 and my pilots for Season 3!
