Dewey Duck's Abduction
Chapter 22
"Oh, no."
"What did you do to them?" Della growled. She came at Edward as the rest of the family followed suit once the flare gun shot off.
It was chaos.
"How does it feel?' Edward snickered at her as Della tried punching him. Edward snorted and moved with ease at every punch she threw at him. "To know that something you want so desperatly not to happen, happen anyway, without any thought to how other's would react, or feel?" Edward's voice crack as he tried to keep himself from getting too emotional.
Emotions were dangerous.
No matter how he felt about Della,
The kids are all that mattered to him, though he hadn't done much to help them at this point. Hadn't done much in their lives except run, run away from his emotions.
Sure, he had helped them escape from where they were holding them hostage, that had been a moment of weakness. Mrs. Vanderquack had made it clear that he'd pay dearly for that once all this was over. He really wasn't looking forward to that.
But...
Della had frozen in place a bit too long, staring at him, and Edward took that moment to do a three sixty with his body and kicked Della down, hard on the ground.
The feeling of when Della left him and the kids was still very, very, fresh.
Edward leaned in close to her face, and hissed.
"Doesn't feel too good. Does it?"
Della tried to speak, but nothing came out.
Della saw a blur of purple rush passed her. It was Mrs. Beakly as she made her way towards Webby and her daughter with fire in her eyes and shouting out a battle cry. She skidded to a hault though when she saw a knife at Webby's throat. Webby's eyes filled with tears when she looked at her. Mrs. Beakly felt a lump slowly form in her throat.
"Hello, Mother." Mrs. Vanderquack said, eyes gleaming at her. "Long time, no see." She bent down close to Webby's face, and rested her chin on her shoulder while she grinned widly at her. "I'd say you got a lot of explaining to do with this one. Don't you?" She asked.
"Leave Webby out of this, Nancy." Mrs. Vanderquack spat at her.
Mrs. Vanderquack's eyes blinked at the mention of her name.
"I don't take orders from you anymore, Mother." Mrs. Vanderquack shot back at her. "Remember?" She snarled at her.
"W,Why?" Webby asked in a small voice. "W,Why didn' you tell me?"
Mrs. Beakly stared at her sadly.
"Webby, dear, I -." She began but her voice was drowned out by the sound of the laser turning on. Mrs. Beakly looked over at Scrooge in alarm.
Scrooge was busy trying to fight off Bradford's partners while Launhpad; of course, battled Steelbeak again who had shown himself moments before the gun went off. Neither of them were going to be any help in stopping the device, she could tell by looking at it that it took some high tech genius to take it down.
Donald, was still out cold by the teaser.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw Gyro and Fenton making their way over to the boys.
They had made it to them as quietly as they could while B.O.Y.D was up ahead of them trying to figure out the controls to turn of the device. So, Mrs. Beakly could be quilt free about them at least as she turned her attention back to Webby and her daughter.
She took a step foward.
"I really, really, wouldn't. Mother." Nancy Vanderquack snarled. "You know I won't heistate, not even with my own daughter!"She pressed her knife against her daughter's throat, making Webby swallow hard. She diverted her eyes from her Grandmother and over at the boys. She was so worried about them that she herself was starting to feel rather ill.
"Guys!" Fenton shouted once they got up to them. He pounded on the glass, hoping that they'd open their eyes.
They didn't.
Gyro saw that they were barely breathing so whatever that smoke was didn't kill them, just knocked them out. But Gyro had a very bad feeling that it did more then knock them out, he had learned long ago not let his gaurd down when it came to unknown substance.
He spotted the panel with different colors near the base of the next to Huey. It had different colors of blue, red, yellow, green, purple...
Was it some sort of code?
If only Gyro knew the code.
He'd be able to shut down the device.
He glanced up at B.O.Y.D who was doing his best to keep the laser from going off. They still had no idea what the device did...
"Blathering Blatherskite." Fenton snapped in frustration, interupting Gyro's throughts. Fenton pounded the green button next to the red one the egg headed minion had hit.
"What do you -?" Gryo shouted angerily at him.
But stopped when the test tubes opened up and the boys rolled out to their feet. Gyro bent down close to the blue one's chest, and sighed deeply with relief. They were alive. But he still felt uneasy. What did that gas do to them excatly?
"Come on, guys. WAKE UP!" Fenton pratically shouted in Huey's ear.
No sooner had he done so though, that two planes came into view above them. One with Darkwing and the girl's while the other one with Baloo, Molly, and Kit.
"What the -?" Bradford said, his eyes narrowed at the two planes. He looked back at Scrooge rather angerly.
"There's something you should know about me, and my family, Bradford." Scrooge snarled at him, he kicked one of his partners in the ribs with his cane, while using a foot to kick the other one. They both groaned and went down, clinching their sides.
Baloo and Kit rushed to help Launchpad who was having a hard time getting Steelbeak to go down.
Bradford rolled his eyes.
If you want something done right. You have to do it yourself.
He came at Scrooge with his fists.
"We. Ducks. Don't back down." Scrooge said firmly and with each word dodged a punch from Bradford. "Donald!" He shouted.
Donald's eyes snapped open and he quickly stood up.
He took in surroundings as if in slow motion until his eyes landed on Huey, Dewey, and Louie who laid motionless on the ground at Gyro and Fenton's feet. One of the planes landed on the bay smoothly while the other with Darkwing, and the girls went straght for the laser.
He saw Darkwing, and three of the girls jump out of the plane just as a beam at the tip of the laser started to erupt.
Gryo, Fenton, and B.O.Y.D quickly grabbed each of the boys and the rest got out of the way quickly just as the device exploded.
Donald felt his face get hot under the collar as his eyes landed on Bradford as he struggled to get back up. He slowly marched up towards him and grabbed the front of his shirt, fire in his eyes.
Bradford only snorted.
That only made Donald even angier. He started dragging him towards the bay. Scrooge had no idea what was going through his nephews mind and didn't even flinch when he pushed Bradfords head into the water.
Scrooge glanced over at the rest of his family.
Each of them had took that moment of the explosion to over power their own opponets. Launchpad managed to wrap Steelbeak in some rope with the help of Darkwing Duck. Lena and Violet quickly helped Webby out of her mother's grasp while Mrs. Beakly actually punched Nancy's lights out, making her fall hard with a thud to the floor at her feet. Della had jumped up with her hands and feet at Edward and had managed to get him into a choke hold and didn't let up until he himself blacked out.
He watched her clap her hands together as if she had just got done doing chores around the house. She quickly whirled around and rushed towards the kids. Scrooge looked back over at Donald who had lifted Bradford's head finally up from the water.
"Okay, Okay!" Bradford exclaimed, as he coughed up water. "I give! I give!"
Donald's upper beak curled into a snarl and he ducked Bradford's head back into the water just a bit longer just for good measure before dragging him towards the very van that had brought the kids and tossed him inside.
One by one each of the members got tossed in.Darkwing and Mrs. Beakly made a call to the head of S.H.U.S.H as they locked the door to the van. Scrooge had never felt more proud of his family then he had at that moment. But that feeling was quickly replaced by fear and concer as he and the rest gathered around the boys.
"A,Are they going to be okay?" Webby asked in a small voice.
She wedged herself through the crowd and made her way for Dewey. Her best friend.
She knelt beside him, and Della who was crying silently.
"I, I don't know..." Della whispered.
She started singing the lullabye she had wrote them. Webby took that moment to join her, along with the rest. They all had heard it so many times since Della had gotten back from the moon, that it was like the song was for all of them now, and not just the triplets.
Once they stopped singing all was quiet, except for the sound of sirens from S.H.U.S.H swat cars as they drove up and surrounded the area.
It was Dewey who groaned first, making everyone gasp. They waited anxiously as he slowly opened his eyes. He sat up and rubbed them, then Huey and Louie followed in the same matter. Della and Donald was so relieved that they seemed to be fine that they hugged them, tightly. Webby included.
"Thank goodness you are okay!" Della exclaimed.
Everyone started talking at once at them.
Dewey blinked and looked at her confused.
"I, I'm sorry," He said loudly over the noise. "B,But who are you?"
Stone silence as they all stared at him.
"C,Come on, Dewey." Webby said, in a small voice, she tugged at his sleeve making Dewey turn to look at her. "S,stop fooling around."
"W,Who's fooling?" Dewey asked, not able to take his eyes off the girl in front of him. He felt he knew her some how, but he couldn't remember... "W,Who are all you people?" He asked looking around at them.
"I, I'd like to know that myself." Huey chimed in.
Louie didn't say anything, but nodded in agreement as he crawled over to Dewey and hid behind him. He gripped his arm tightly and Dewey felt him trembling slightly. Dewey didn't know why, but he wanted to comfort him, and he did so by putting his arm around him, and hugging him close, still looking confused.
"Oh, no." Webby whispered sadly. She grabbed Dewey's hand and squeezed it tightly. Dewey stared at her, and Webby studied his now clouded, smokey eyes.
This was even worse then anything that has happened to her in the last couple of days. Even worse then when Phantom Bolt had taken over his body, or even worse when her own mother had tried to kill him and her.
All three of them had lost their memories.
