The next day
"dad why did you buy all this art with my name on it" asks Robbie
"look in the top right corner, it says Jade W, the guy I bought it off of didn't notice it when he bought it all, his daughters name was Grace and she had passed the year prior and he just wanted some kids art to relive old memories, he paid something like two grand for the entire storage room of stuff, he estimates the records alone are worth ten grand, he's been looking for the original owner for the past six months, I know Jade's mom is a huge record lover so this morning I sent him in her direction" says Mr. Shapiro
"what did his daughter die of, also what does the, K, one, two, three, four and five mean" says Robbie
"his daughter died of cancer at six years old, I think it's her grade" says Mr. Shapiro as Jade barges in and avoids Robbie
"oh my God thank you Mr. Shapiro, my mom hasn't seen those records in almost ten years, my mom gave you this huge cheque as a thank you" says Jade excitedly handing him a half a million dollars cheque
"half a million dollars, gee Jade that's awfully kind of her" says Mr. Shapiro
"She'd been collecting them since she was seventeen, you gave her her life back" says Jade
"so I guess you've found someone else then, you seem awfully cheerful" says Robbie
"no I haven't, take a look at the art paper six down, I always liked you Robbie, the things I did with you no other guy will let me do, but you don't care anyway you just left me, I had a ring dude, I got my wires crossed because I was so nervous about taking that next step and you didn't even care" says Jade as she runs out to her car
"didn't you also buy a ring Son" says Mr. Shapiro
"ya, look I obviously made a mistake, I don't deserve her, I never did, she deserves someone who motivates her" says Robbie
"you do realize that she got fired today right, because she wouldn't show up to work because you frequent that Record world location, you got her fired, case and point while she was talking to you she didn't even look in your direction because looking at you brings back memories and makes her cry, she knows she can't work like that so she didn't" says Mr. Shapiro
"I didn't know I had that much of an affect on her" says Robbie surprised
"it's gotten to the point that she actually can't be in the room you made love in because of the smell, it makes her hurl at the thought of what she can't have now, Robbie my son when you have sex with someone you both feel something, I actually have a few pictures of your fourth birthday where she actually kissed you, why she did that has always been a question on our minds, there is probably something she's told you about it that you've dismissed as a story because as you say you don't deserve her, her mom and I dated in high school, we ended it because we disagreed on having children or not, also Jade doesn't seem like the kind of person that makes up stories just cause" says Mr. Shapiro
"ok I'll go talk to her, if what you say about her stories is true the kiss was my present because she couldn't think of anything else" says Robbie
"see I told you" says Mr. Shapiro
Back at the house 1 hour later
"look Jade I'm sorry" says Robbie
"say it louder freak" says Jade angrily
"I'm sorry, I love you, I made a mistake" says Robbie
"ya whatever, it's going to take more than sorry to fix this, I lost my job because of you, I'm literally banned from all Record world stores in all California because of you, you left me crying for a whole week holding my ring in my hand, six months of saving up for nothing, it was a six grand ring, I sold it and got a hundred dollars back" says Jade angrily stomping off to the hot tub
"I didn't know, I've never had a girl treat me like she did" says Robbie
"we all make mistakes Robbie, she's angry, she needs a bit to calm down" says Tori
"I brought the art she lost, my dad bought it, I didn't understand until my dad explained it all to me, I thought it was a ploy, she's smoking hot and I'm a nerd, the two don't normally go well together, I don't deserve her love or her forgiveness, I ruined the only chance I had at true love" says Robbie
"today hasn't been easy, she tried to go for her shift today to try and get things back to normal and was fired before she even entered the store, a fellow employee used Jade's misfortune to steal money and put it all on Jade, making it seem like she wasn't coming to work because she was stealing, that's why she got banned, my dads working on it with the fraud department investigation, now he's not actually that fond of Jade but he's never known her to steal money, and to him injustice is injustice it doesn't matter who, if he's wrong he's also not afraid to admit it" says Tori
"I'll need an example of when he's actually admitted a mistake" says Robbie
"Trina's wisdom teeth, when she got them out he admitted the week after that it was a mistake to force a younger sister to look after her mental case of an older sister not even considering the fact that I had to take care of her for longer than a few hours, I still have the scar that she caused me to bite my cheek by swing arming me, hot foods aren't exactly my friend anymore" says Tori as Jade walks over to Robbie and hugs him
"um what's going on Jade, I thought you were angry at me" says Robbie confused
"I am but I need a hug right now, you always gave me the best hugs" says Jade
"what happened" says Tori suspiciously
"the company is convinced I'm guilty of stealing over five grand and won't participate in the police investigation" says Jade
"want me to go get you some ice-cream Jadey" says Robbie
"if it's okay with you" says Jade
"of course" says Robbie as he gets in his car and heads to the ice-cream store
"you aren't playing him are you" asks Ryder
"no, I am still mad but that cologne is my favorite, it just calms me right down, I'll probably give him mixed signals but I need his comfort right now because if I'm found guilty of something I didn't do it'll end my life, I'll have a criminal record for something I didn't do, I won't be able to do anything without people thinking I'm a bad person" says Jade
"where did you get the money for that ring, I'm just curious because it looked amazing" says Ryder
"it was a one off I asked them to make, I couldn't afford to keep it after Robbie and I fought, I paid for it by doing my job and a little extra cash from doing songs with Tori, I had everything planned out and everything, we'd watch a movie about love and I'd propose, I had the movie timing planned down the second, all ruined because I couldn't possibly think Robbie had anything other than sex on his mind, I was hoping he'd say no so I could have a reason to burry myself at work because I'd dreamed about my wedding day since I was five years old and he was just turning four and I kissed him" says Jade
"why would you possibly want him to say no" says Cat confused
"because everything was too perfect, we got along too well, his kiss affected me too much, when I'd work and he'd bring me lunch all I could think about for the rest of my shift was coming home and kissing him, I often undercharged customers because of it" says Jade
"didn't you almost get a modelling contract last month" says Cat
"ya I used that backstabbing chick as a reference because I thought we were on good terms, I treated her with respect and never once yelled at her if she made a mistake because we all make mistakes, I'd worked with her for almost two years and she never said anything about me that was mean" says Jade as Robbie comes back with ice-cream
"Jadey can we talk alone for a minute" says Robbie
"sure whatever let's just head to the pool so I can drown my sorrows" says Jade
With jade
"I'm sorry they're out of your ice-cream babe, they won't have any for two weeks" says Robbie
"just forget about it then, I'll probably be in jail by then anyway" says Jade
"wait what" says Robbie
"Record world is refusing to work with the cops, they're certain I stole over five grand, and that I'm guilty no matter what the investigation finds, my bank account is frozen, just getting to your parents house and back emptied my tank" says Jade
"can't I buy you some gas" says Robbie
"no because they're looking at everything I've ever done since I was sixteen, they brought in Beck yesterday to be interrogated, the cops are already viewing me as a criminal, the lawyer my parents got me is pleading me to plead guilty to end the speculation, they're probably going to take you tomorrow, what's the point of being a good girl if this stuff was going to happen to me anyway" cries Jade as Robbie kisses her and she responds
"look, I'm sorry if I just crossed a line with that but I love you, you're not a thief, you would never steal money" says Robbie
"no it's ok, I miss your kisses" says Jade
"so what all that anger is suddenly gone" says Robbie confused
"no I'm still upset about the fight and the fact that you walked out but I need you to get through this, so no sex, kisses only" says Jade
"ok I understand" says Robbie
At the police station the next day
"so miss Kirsten West, what would you say about the assumption that your cousin stole money" says Officer Hernandez
"I'd say it's not true, Jade spent most of her childhood misunderstood, I stole money to buy her a gift for her thirteenth birthday because I didn't actually think it was wrong at the time and she was so angry she disowned me, she actually turned me in, I spent six hours in a cell and trust me she still doesn't talk to me because of it, she may appear to be the type to steal money but she's far from it, when you get past the easily angered exterior she's the most caring person you'd ever meet" says Kirsten
"what about her ex co worker's claim that she stole money to buy drugs and that's why she wasn't at work" says Officer Hernandez
"she doesn't do drugs and she doesn't steal money, her mother says she bought a ring to propose to Robbie Shapiro, her lifelong crush and they had a fight and he walked out and she was having problems coping because he frequents the store she worked at and she would cry and wouldn't be able to focus, see if she can't do her job because she gets emotional she just won't do it" says Kirsten
"I assume you have an example then" says Officer Hernandez
"yes, Robbie's fourth birthday, she kissed him as his present because she couldn't think of anything to get him, she was an emotional wreck for the next two weeks, she had only just turned five herself, if anyone so much as brought up his name she would just start crying because he didn't kiss back, Jade's parents are firm believers in the idea that if you kiss someone they'll kiss back if they have feelings for you and they taught her that as well so when he didn't kiss back she was completely heartbroken, she was completely convinced that he didn't like her, as long as no one brought up his name or a picture of him she was fine" says Kirsten
"ok thanks miss Kirsten West, you may go now" says Officer Hernandez as Robbie gets called in
"yes officer" says Robbie nervously
"people keep mentioning this fight you had with Jade last week, what was the context" says Officer Hernandez
"I wanted to cuddle with her, but the problem was Tori and Cat adopted a two year old girl so we had chosen cuddle as the code word for sex, she is usually calm headed around me but she had a custom ring commissioned and was planning to propose to me as I was to her, she can be very emotional at times as most girls can be so I genuinely wanted to cuddle to calm her down because all I had to do was say her name and she'd jump and she thought I meant sex and just started calling me names and about now wasn't the time to cuddle, are you married officer" says Robbie
"I am ya" says Officer Hernandez
"did you have proposal jitters" says Robbie
"oh ya big time" says Officer Hernandez
"try and combine that with it being your time of the month period wise, everything is extra nerve-racking" says Robbie
"did she tell you this or did you come to the conclusion yourself" says Officer Hernandez
"my mom actually told me how she proposed, I think it's exactly what Jade had in mind because of everything that was in our room at the time, movie night wasn't till four days later but a movie selection menu was up on our TV, it was actually a cute movie from the description I read, also it's not hard for me to map her periods, she gets super moody right around that time of the month, it's also one of the only times she makes me wear a condom, I usually do anyway but on her period days it's not even a discussion, it's one of the reasons I wanted to cuddle with her that day because I knew her emotions would have been all over the place, she doesn't steal and she does not do drugs, she doesn't even smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol, what Record world is claiming is ridiculous, she was their most loved employee, also her ex boss is anal about how much cash is on hand at any one time, if money went missing on her cash register shifts trust me he'd have said something a lot earlier, I bet if you check the records the money if any went missing will be on her ex coworkers shifts on cash, Jade didn't see it but she was always talking trash about Jade to customers, she even tried to get me to cheat on Jade on three separate occasions" says Robbie
"we don't have those records, Record world isn't cooperating with the investigation" says Officer Hernandez
"obviously because that employee is the CEOs niece, of course he wouldn't want people seeing corruption in the family, it would absolutely destroy his company" says Robbie
"now that's something we didn't know" says Officer Hernandez
"Isabella Quentin, look her up, she's woefully unqualified to work retail, she's constantly overcharging customers for products, if an album says fifteen dollars before tax she charges twenty before tax, trust me I've been a victim even before Jade and I got together, actually here take my phone, I'll bring up the conversation…. Er blackmail that Isabella attempted to use on me two days ago" says Robbie handing his phone to the officer
"ok wow I'm not even going to repeat the words she used, this is plain as day a hate crime against Jade, do you mind if I get a copy of this" says Officer Hernandez
"ya no problem" says Robbie
"ok I'll be right back" says Officer Hernandez as he leaves with the phone
"you'll make a wonderful husband Robbie, Jade should be proud" says Officer David Vega
"oh we aren't really together right now, she's just so scared that she's going to have a criminal record and won't be able to do anything at all that she just needs me to comfort her, she actually told me to be absolutely truthful about our argument, to hide nothing" says Robbie
"ok thanks Robbie Shapiro, we will be in touch" says Officer Hernandez
Back at home
"so how's my chances" says Jade
"I showed him the texts from Isabella trying to blackmail me, about how you'll rot in prison so I might as well have sex with her now, he said this was clearly a hate crime against you" says Robbie as Tori walks over
"um Jade the cheque you tried to deposit before all this was just accepted along with all the pending automatic transfers from my music account for the music money you made, you're like ten grand richer" says Tori
"wait so my account isn't frozen anymore" says Jade
"it would appear that way ya" says Tori
"ok Robbie I may still have a few problems with you but will you please marry me" says Jade
"wait for real, this is happening" says Robbie confused
"you didn't just defend me, you literally saved my life, so will you please marry me" says Jade as she gets on one knee
"yes of course I will Jade, but what about your anger issues and the fight thing" says Robbie
"we can work on it together, oh my goodness I can finally show you the wedding plan I had for us when I was six" says a giddy Jade
