A/N: hello! I'll try to update as quick as I can before school starts. I apologize in advance if I take forever to update. I do not own Harry Potter and the characters. Sorry for any mistakes. Enjoy.

Chapter 17

Later that night, during dinner, Hermione found herself seated with Ginny, George, and Fred. At first she searched for Harry and Ron but then remembered they were serving detention. Hermione also couldn't help but feel the slightest bit of jealousy when she learned Harry would be serving detention with Lockhart.

"How was your first day, Ginny?" Hermione asked. Ginny smiled and the twins listened in as well.

"It was nerve-wracking but fun," the youngest Weasley answered. "Luna's in some of my classes."

"Luna? Luna Lovegood?" both George and Fred repeated with wide eyes. Ginny eagerly nodded and grinned.

"I'm sorry, but who is Luna Lovegood?" Hermione asked.

"Oh yeah, sorry," Ginny said and Hermione waved the apology off. "She's a friend of mine."

"The Lovegood's live over the hill near the Burrow," George stated with Fred nodding beside him.

"Quite funny, those Lovegood's," Fred muttered to Hermione. George nodded in agreement and luckily Ginny didn't hear.

"Sometimes Luna says strange things, but she's wonderful," Ginny commented. Then she gasped. "We should all hang out together some time!"

"We?" Hermione, George, and Fred all questioned.

"Luna, Hermione, and me," Ginny replied. "I don't think Fred and George would want to join."

"Nope," the twins answered, popping the 'p' at the end. If it were just me and Hermione, I'd love to join, Fred thought to himself.

"That's a lovely idea Ginny," Hermione smiled. Ginny grinned before continuing to eat.

After dinner, Hermione found Ron on the way back to the Common Room. "Oh great, it's you! I'm tired of looking at myself through the trophies," Ron said. Hermione giggled.

"Where's Harry?" They both asked simultaneously. "Oh," they said in sync again before bursting out in laughter.

"What're you two laughing about?" Another voice asked. The two turned around and it was Harry who looked tired. But he grinned as he saw his best friends' faces. "I heard you two, could've been the new Fred and George."

The trio shared another laugh. As they start talking again, Harry fell silent. "Harry, are you alright?" Hermione asked, beginning to worry.

"Don't you hear that?" He asks, a mix of fear and panic swimming in his eyes.

"Hear what?" Ron asked, wearing a look of confusion on his face.

"That voice!" Harry answers with wide eyes. "It was just talking, I swear!"

"Harry, the only voices we heard were ours," Hermione explained calmly. "Maybe you're just tired from detention," she suggested with Ron nodding in agreement.

"I'm not lying, someone else was speaking!" Harry tried. Now both Ron and Hermione were concerned for their friend. "You didn't hear it?" Hermione and Ron shook their heads, both sending Harry apologetic looks.

"Hearing voices is never a good sign, mate, not even in the wizarding world," Ron commented, adding to all their worries. They walked back up to the Common Room quietly, each of them not knowing what to say. Hermione made a mental note to do some research on hearing voices.
