Another month has passed, and Beach City is as quiet as ever. The Crystal Gems have been focusing on themselves and living under the radar from Homeworld, Peridot and the Ruby squad believes that the Earth was destroyed by the cluster, hence why they haven't been visited by any more Homeworld Gems. This doesn't stop them from preparing though, they've done all they can in terms of defence and plans of action, all there is now, is training and waiting. Peridot was now in her second month of carrying, her cravings have shot up and can almost always be seen eating rocks. Matthew and Peridot were currently in the Ruby squad's room talking about the gemlings that were soon to come …
(Navy) "Have you thought of any names?"
(Matthew) "We have a few names in mind but we aren't too sure yet."
Matthew glances over to Peridot who adds. "Yes, it depends on any characteristics the gemlings show. We decided to decide on names once the geodes arrive."
(Leggy) "I can't wait! It would be so nice to look after small Rubies and Peridots!"
(Doc) "They are welcome to play in our room anytime they want!"
Eyeball quickly adds. "As long as they don't eat any of our stuff …"
Matthew holds a laugh in as he can actually imagine that happening. "Don't worry, we'll make sure that they don't mess with anything in your room!"
The group continue to talk about any topic that comes to mind, from gemlings to Earth to even … Camp Pining Hearts. Surprisingly, the rubies actually enjoy watching it … and are just as addicted as Peridot. Soon the gathering comes to an end when Matthew and Peridot meet up with Bismuth who wanted to gift them something for celebration …
(Bismuth) "Hey you two, I decided that since you guys are going to have gemlings together you would need a bit of help … so I made you guys a crib to keep the geodes in until they hatch!"
The crib is quite big and would definitely hold a large number of geodes in it, Bismuth painted it green and red to symbolise the love between Matthew and Peridot.
(Matthew) "I love it! It's a good size and it's even got both of our colours on it!"
Peridot has stars in her eyes before jumping to hug Bismuth. "Wow, thanks!"
(Matthew) "How could we ever thank you?"
(Bismuth) "Don't sweat it, creating is a part of my 'bismuth' …"
Each of them giggle at the pun and soon move the crib into Garnet's room, who seems more than happy with it being in there. It isn't long now until the geodes are set to arrive …
(Sorry for the short chapter, the geodes will be coming next chapter and then the team will get right back into the story and the gemlings will be a kind of side-story pre-se. Thank you for reading! I really appreciate the support!)
