Jose stares at John Snow, however, Ned's chosen bastard strengthens his pasture, it's obvious the boy wants to appear strong in front of his brother Ned rejected.
"You have my face" John Snow says to King Jose but the man only smirks.
"Don't be ridiculous. I grew up in the south, far from these lands, I survived in a land where everything including the trees tried to kill me"
"I have no father, no mother, and no brother" he says as he looks around.
"You obviously grew up with all of that"
Those last words were filled with venom, or so I would have said, but the man isn't acting as if he even cares, no if I had to put it in words.
King Jose, is trying to keep John Snow away
The man smiles before patting Ned's batard on both shoulders and stretching out his right hand.
"Greetings man of the northern lands I am Jose Woods king of the Sothorios is it possible to be granted your name"
Ned's batard hesitates for a moment.
"Forgive me, your highness, I am John Snow," he says and takes Kings Jose's hand, the moment John Snow graved King Jose's hand the man immediately shook the bastard's hand and immediately let go.
"King Robert Baratheon, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and protector of the realm, I thank you for accepting me to your fine city and allowing me to enter your castle" the man directed his words to me, I have to admit it feels good shaving someone speaking to me.
To think that another king would direct his words to me in a respectable way, that alone is a fresh breath of air.
"King Jose please sit join us, join me," I say to the man, who just walks past his estranged brother, and despite other people sitting at the table, he never bothers to even look at any of them.
A servant places a large wooden chair fit for a king and the man sits down, however, the moment he takes his seat strange lizard lands on his right hand.
It's a green lizard with wings, but it's not a dragon, I've seen dragons before, this isn't one of them.
Its teeth are too big, it doesn't breath fire as it flies and its body isn't a serpent with wings and feet, no, this creature is something else.
The man's honor guard step forward, but no chairs are brought for them, no if they want to eat, they will have to wait, however, King Jose just smiles.
Tywin and the imp of my brother-inlaw, take their seats but the man just smiles.
"Is it okay if my men join us, I am aware that there isn't any room, but it's customary for us to carry our rations"
So that's his game, I agreed to your terms now you agree to mine.
"By all means" I answer him, both out of curiosity to see what they ear and because I'll be dammed if some brat so much as says he pulled the rug from beneath my feet.
Our meal isn't anything special, just salted pork, sausages, and soup, nothing out of the ordinary, but the man's honor guard, eat a strange blue colored meat and they drink it down with what smells like grape juice, but it comes out of some sort of shell.
The smell of the food is getting to me, I haven't eaten all day, so I begin to eat after a while when everything is gone and we have eaten everything in sight I realize just how quiet it is.
No one is cheerfully talking, not even the children, no one except the imp and the king of the south, again the Lannister's push themselves closer to being outed as traitors, but I listen to their words and unfortunately, the imp is just telling Jose how he should eat certain things.
The servants have started taking away the used plates and bows, the only things that remain are our cups filled with wine or water.
I can't help but smile as I notice the imbittered look on Ned's wife's face.
"King Jose, you mentioned earlier that you didn't know who your father or mother are\ where?' Ned interrogates the young king.
"Because I didn't, I grew up alone...no, I wasn't alone. The reality of the situation is, that the villagers despite the fact they kept their distance from me, nonetheless helped me live"
A sad smile forms on the man's face.
"The truth is, I probably had just as much or more than them, growing up, so I fully understand them now" Jose answers Ned, but he gave out too much information.
"What would you do if you found your father" Cattaline Ned's wife interrupts and askes her question, despite it not being her turn to speak.
"What does it matter, I've grown without him, took a wife and we have four children together and the town is growing prospering"
Those last parts are filled with pride, yes this man formed those two with his loins and his hands.
"It's possible that I'm your father" Ned's words were as blunt as a word out sword.
The two looked at each other, but Jose just lifted his cup and drank its contents.
"You don't say" again an uneasy silence bot one that didn't last.
"So what do you want me to do with that information, should we hug and I call you father while you call me son. No, I do not need a father that abandons his son in a place filled with monsters"
"Ora brother that grew up in a life filled with luxury and wealth"
The sound of the armored fist connecting with Ned's face was the only thing that could be heard.
I haven't seen Ned, move at such a speed since the war, in what seemed like a moment he rose from his seat, ran towards Jose, and swung at him. In that note, the boy's guards aren't for just for show, they covered the boy and blocked Ned's attack, while delivering one of their own.
Ned's eyes are glowing with cold rage, fit for someone of the north, the king of the south didn't say anything wrong.
No, quite the contrary, the truth is, he was right about everything, there's just one problem, its a bastard talking to someone of the main house, however, Ned has completely forgotten, that in his attempt to discipline his rejected bastard, he's unwillingly started a war.
"I see the north is just as idiotic as always, did you forget Stark that the man you have just attacked is the King of the south," Tywin says to ned, but the damage is already done, the northern men are already closing in, surrounding the boy's honor guard.
Its time I force this situation to calm.
"One representative for each king or lord, whoever wins is whoever wins, this is my kingdom and it will be respected," I say to them in the loudest voice I can imagine.
"I'll do it son" a man's voice says to the boy, however, Jose draws his sword and hands it to him.
"Do what you have to do" Jose says to the man.
I notice the knight is wearing the strange scale armor, but it's different from the others, there is a small red scale on the mnas shoulder, I wonder what it means.
Both men sword meet and it's not even a fight at all, in two simple moves, the scale knight, has decapitated the knight of the north.
The rest of the northern men are backing down, it's here where things get interesting.
People could say that Ned is too old to lead and that his direct children are unworthy for the throne, but one of his bastards is fit for it because one of his men easily bested one of Neds.
Others would agree and point out the boy's kingdom, stating that with it, the north would always have food.
Ned has two ways of handling this, both put him in a bad spot, however, he needs to calm down, the boy is reaching to his wist I can already see the twin hammers he carries.
People would laugh at such miniature weapons, but I know better, those things are meant to kill on the first blow, there is no Ill be careful with them, I know this because I have a pair.
Yet both men only stare at each other, two wolfs fully prepared to kill one another, the difference is Ned is standing up and the boy is still sitting down.
"Lord Stark remember the king's words, whoever wins, wins. It's over" the imp interrupts and Ned unwillingly calms down, again he helps the south again I ignore his betrayal
