When Takeshi and Hayato got to the Sawada residence they weren't expecting how loud for it to be. Honestly, they had no clue the Sawada's had speakers that could play so loud they were heard from down the street.
Hayato could tell it was merengue playing, but he wasn't sure what was being celebrated as he heard a loud feminine whoop.
It was just a few weeks after the Varia had been taken back to Italy and while most of them had recovered, they still felt a certain way that the celebratory music didn't fit with the way any of them were feeling.
Not bothering to knock, the pair walked in noticing that the living room had been moved around, the couches pushed up against the wall, the coffee table nowhere to be seen. On one of the couches sat Biacnhi, who looked exasperated but nonetheless amused as she watched Natsume twirl around her brother.
There was another whoop, this one much more masculine, and Hayato noticed that the TV was on, showing a group of people also dancing along to the music that was playing. They wore party hats and were waving around streamers, cheering excitedly when the twins twirled each other, not at all tripping over each other by how fast they were doing it.
"Did you know they could dance like that?" Takeshi asked, Hayato only shrugging in response. He knew that they all liked to dance together, having been a part of the 'dancing parties' once.
"I didn't know they could dance merengue," he said, taking off his shoes and stepping in, feeling like he could breathe now that the music ended.
"Who are they?" an older woman asked in English, smiling kindly at the two she saw coming in. Everyone in the living room turned to look and saw them, Tsuna waved them in, Natsume explaining that they were their friends.
"Tutu this is Hayato and Takeshi," Natsume said, "Guys, this is our family, Tutu Alana, Uncle Toyo, Zack, Isaak, Mike, Esmi and Reno," each person waved, or nodded when their name was introduced.
"So these are the boys I hear so much of," Alana said, casting a glance at Nana who nodded happily. "My, my I am glad to meet my other children then."
The two who were being talked about blushed, earning a chuckle from the woman. One of the men, Isaak peered over the woman's shoulder, eyes narrowed as he took them then, before holding his hand out to them, his three middle fingers curled, pinky and thumb expended, "Aloha little cousins, it's about time you showed up for the party."
The woman, Esmi, elbowed him lightly, winking at them, "They got here right on time."
"Oh wait, do you two understand them well?" Nana asked, knowing that while they were learning English in school, she didn't know how well they understood it.
The pair nodded, Takeshi speaking up, "I have gotten better."
"It's good to know, always keep learning," the man with dirty blond hair said, that was Mike was it? One of the other men snorted, putting an arm around Mike's neck and dragging him off screen. A grunt could be heard, "Oi, I'm advising the younger generation, I gotta give them my wisdom!"
"Wisdom my ass –"
Nana laughed, head shaking as the antics of Reno and Mike were heard, "Always fighting I swear." She turned to them, "You two must be wondering what's happening, it's a belated birthday celebration for Natsume and Tsuna and I wanted to surprise them with it on their birthday, but things were happening."
"That explains the Spanish music."
The man named Isaak grinned, "Reno was just playing what they did at his younger cousin's quince, he thought it'd be appropriate."
"It is appropriate!" came the distant shout, followed by a grunt.
Toyo rolled his eyes as he stepped back onto the scene, having gone inside the house to get something and coming back out ot the scene before him, "Do I have to come over there and get you two to behave."
"We're just having fun!"
"What's a party without a fight anyway?"
"Yeah! What's a party –"
"Natsume no -"
Tsuna grabbed Natsume before she was able to grab Hayato, about to do who knows what, and she just sagged in his hold, nearly bringing them both down, "Natsume yes," she cried, pouting up at her brother.
"Introductions over, let's get the party back on!" the man who had been dragged off screen said, jumping up from behind Zack so he could be seen.
The music started up again, Tsuna dropped Natsume to the floor and went over to Bianchi bringing the older teen out to dance. The teasing whistles that followed had Bianchi shaking her head, though she wasn't offended by it, knowing that they meant no disrespect and moreso to tease Tsuna.
"Someone help me," Natsume pouted from the floor, deciding it was a time to be dramatic. It was Takeshi who helped her as Hayato rolled his eyes at her antics. "Do you know how to dance to this?"
Takeshi shook his head and Hayato stared at the taller teen, noticing his cheeks turning red as Natsume began to show him how he should move. He turned to look at his sister and Tsuna enjoying themselves as were the people on the screen who paired up, or were just dancing on their own, clapping their hands to the beat of the music.
"Want to dance Hayato-kun?" Nana came up to ask and he shrugged, taking her hand.
AN: I was listening to a Quince playlist that i found on spotify and realized I'm dumb and should have had a scene where they celebrated their 15, though with the way the story was flowing, I don't think I would have liked out it would have fit in.
So here we are, getting to know more of the family back in hawaii. A bunch of merengue and cumbia was a huge inspiration for this, so go on and party :D Also Reborn said hi to everyone, but went off to wherever it is Reborn disappears too.
I have a question, so I found a bunch of random oneshots written due to my brain not wanting to write for We Are Two, would it be okay to post some of those as Omake's or even on this story as it is a bunch of one-shots?
I'm just curious to know.
Anways, hope you guys enjoyed!
