We walk for a while as Finn spots tracks.
"So, I saw that Octavia was pretty pissed at you," Jasper says with hope in his voice.
What did he think she was gonna come running to him and they'd live happily ever after.
"Well if you don't wanna see stars you'll shut the fuck up about it," I say through gritted teeth.
"Geez man I'm just saying—," Jasper says trying to hint at something.
"Nothing, your saying nothing," I snap.
He starts talking again and I turn around very quickly and he shuts up.
"Yeah that's what I thought. Shut your trap," I say.
We come to a steep cliff and Bellamy makes his way down. It's quite steep so people hesitate, but here comes hero boy. Jasper decides to jump down. Finn and I exchange looks and I chuckle a bit. He jabs me in the side, but is stifling a laugh. We head down to examine what Bellamy found.
"Someone else was here," he remarks as he holds up his fingers that have blood.
"Prints are going deeper that way. He was carrying her," Finn says.
"If they took her then she's alive. Like when they took me," Jasper says way too happily.
"If they had to carry her then she was hurt," I say.
Bellamy looks worried at my remark.
"Octavia's strong. She'd wanna walk on her own if she could. She's a fighter, a survivor, like you said on that first day," I say trying to reassure Bellamy.
He smiles a bit and says "your right let's keep moving."
We keep walking until we come across a bunch of bloody skeletons perched up on poles.
I cringe, but make no sound.
"I don't speak grounder, but I'm pretty sure this means keep out," Finn says a bit worried.
"Well I've never been good at following rules," I say walking forward.
"Wait," Finn says grabbing my arm.
"They have Octavia, Finn!" I snap worriedly and wrench my arm free.
"This is crazy, let's get outta here," one guy says
"I'm outta here," another one says
"Me to," a third one remarks
"Go back if you want. My sister, my responsibility," Bellamy says.
"I'm not going anywhere, I'd walk into hell to find her," I say with determination to Bellamy as we both start walking in.
"Me too," Jasper says.
"Glad your doing better," I say with a half smile.
He nods, but I can tell he's mad about something.
"I think we just did," Finn says looking freaked out.
"Then we go into hell together," I say.
"Damn right," Bellamy, Finn, and Jasper say in unison
We walk for a while longer until Finn loses the trail.
"Keep looking," Bellamy demands
"We should backtrack," Finn suggests
"I'm not going back," Bellamy retorts.
"Hey where's Diggs?" Roma asks.
"I just saw him a second ago," Jasper says now scared.
"Spread out he couldn't have gotten far," Bellamy says.
We spread out and start looking when a body falls from the trees. It's Diggs, but his throat is slit. I immediately look up to the trees, but see no grounders.
"They use the trees," Finn says
"Don't get close to the trees," I say
"Right there," Finn points and we see a grounder dressed in all black wearing a skull and a creepy headress. I see a second grounder on the other side.
"Another one," I say and point to it
"We should run," Finn says
We immediately take off and the grounders follow.
"I can't run much longer," Jasper says after a while of running.
"Cmon man we have to keep going," I say and pull his arm forward.
"No I'm sick of running anyway," Bellamy says and stops.
"What are you doing," Finn says.
"They know where she is," Bellamy responds.
Roma suddenly runs away screaming.
"Roma stop!" I yell and we take off after her.
Suddenly a branch swings out of nowhere and impales her and she dies instantly.
"This was the only direction we could run in," Jasper says losing hope.
"Hey where'd they go?" Finn asks
We notice the grounders aren't chasing us anymore.
"No clue," Bellamy says and we run again.
We see one of our people leaning against a tree, but it's Diggs' corpse that they pinned to the tree with a spear.
"Jesus," Monroe says wincing.
"They're playing with us," Finn says out of breath.
Bellamy looks at Diggs with a guilty expression.
"Hey, we need to keep moving," I say placing a hand on his shoulder
"They can kill us whenever the want," Finn whispers trying to stay quiet.
"Then they should GET IT OVER WITH! COME ON! WE KNOW YOUR OUT THERE! YOU WANNA KILL US?!" Jasper screams out of pure panic.
"Shut up," I say running to him
"Stop," Finn hisses.
I run up to him and put him in a headlock and clamp my hand over his mouth.
"Shut. Up." I hiss into his ear
"Bellamy!" Monroe yells.
We see grounders running up to us. We draw our weapons. I get my new knife and the rest of us get ready to fight or die trying. If this is it then I'm not going out without a fight. Then a horn blows. The grounders suddenly run away.
"Acid fog," I realize
"We should run," Monroe says.
"There's no time," Finn says and gets a tarp out of his pack that we all get under.
After a bit of waiting Jasper asks how long we will have to wait.
"Will this work?" Monroe follows up.
"We'll find out," Finn says
"No we won't," Bellamy says and gets up
"Bellamy what the hell are you doing?" I ask
"There's no fog," he responds
We get out from under the tarp.
"Maybe it was a false alarm," Finn assumes.
We see the grounders running around again.
"They're coming back," Bellamy says
"He's alone," Jasper whispers.
"Now can we run?" Monroe asks.
"No im following him," I say
"And what are you gonna do, kill him?" Finn asks.
"No we just need to catch him. He'll tell us where Octavia is, then kill him," Bellamy states
"I agree," I say and get up to follow Bellamy.
We come across a cave and I go in first. I see Octavia sitting on the ground and my heart flutters.
"Robby?" She says and tries to get up.
"Octavia, oh my God," I say and pull her into a tight hug and don't want to ever let her go.
"Are you okay? Are you okay? I'm so sorry," I say in between breaths.
"Yeah, get the key," she says shakily and I get it off the unconscious grounder's body.
"Octavia," Bellamy says and runs over to us.
I unlock her and she throws her arms around Bellamy.
"It's ok! Your ok!," he says
She then looks at me for a second then I realize that I have tears in my eyes. I see her eyes water and I'm afraid she'll say she hates me again. Instead she throws her arms around me also.
"Octavia I'm so sorry," I say and a tear slides down my cheek.
"It's ok." She says into my neck.
"No it's not okay I'm a dick, but there's so much I need to tell you. I'm so sorry Octavia." I say.
"We should get out of here before he wakes up," Octavia says
"He's not gonna wake up," Bellamy says and picks up a large spear.
"Finn move," Bellamy says
"Fog horn," Finn says showing us the horn.
Suddenly the grounder springs to life and stabs Finn who falls over.
"Finn!" I yell and charge the grounder
He kicks me and takes the spear from Bellamy. He's about to kill Bellamy when Octavia says "Stop! That's my brother!"
The grounders hesitates and I tackle him off Bellamy. We wrestle for the spear before I hear a thud and the grounder falls unconscious again. There stands Jasper Jordan who just saved my life.
"Thanks," I say before running over to Finn.
"We need to get him back now," I say and we carry him back to camp as fast as our legs can carry us.
Jasper helps Octavia walk and Bellamy and I carry Finn.
