Welcome back to Running Love! Sorry I haven't update a lot lately. Year 8 is hammering me with homework so I don't have a lot of time to do story's. I will finish this story and that's a promise. Enjoy :D

Chapter 19: Big Question

Humphrey's P.O.V

"Morning Dad" Kate said in a loving voice. "Morning Kate" he replied. Winston and Eve looked at us very suspicious, "So you went back to Humphrey's den last night?" Winston asked, "Um yeah, why?" Kate replied. Winston and Eve looked at each other with a serious look, "Well it's just you know, you two are all grown up now and your mates so…" Winston said embarrassed. "Dad!" Kate screamed out, "We didn't do anything like that" she said angry. "Well you say that but I think you forget, your mother and I where your age once as well" Winston replied. Kate and I started to blush, "Well we didn't ok" Kate replied. "Ok then" Eve replied. It feel very silent for a while, "Well Humphrey and I are going to go out and do something" Kate told her dad. "Alright then and before you go, do either of you too know how strong the Southern pack is?" Winston asked concerned. Kate and I looked at each other, "Well while I was in prison I saw a lot of wolves training outside and there where at least 150 of them there" I added. "Thank you Humphrey and Kate, what do you know?" Winston asked. "Well while I was recuing Humphrey I saw at least 400 wolves sitting in front of this big dark wolf, probably the same size as you" Kate added also. Winston's face turn pale, "Well thank you for the information, I'm going to go see Tony now" Winston said running out of the den.

Kate and I exited the den, "Why is your dad so on edge" I asked Kate, "I don't know but its freaking me out, it's like he has something to hide" Kate replied. It fell silent for a minute or so, "So where are we going?" I asked Kate. "I don't know I was following you" she replied. "Well your leading today" I said with a smile. "Alright then" she replied. She took off like a bullet, I followed behind. I didn't know what it was lately but I felt like I was faster and stronger all of a sudden, I caught up to Kate easy. She look beside her and saw me right next to her, she look stunned that I caught up so fast. We then stopped in front of a river, "Humphrey, have you been running some laps while I wasn't looking" Kate joked. "I don't think so, all of a sudden I fell stronger and faster" I replied. "Well maybe I can call you my little strong omega from now on ok my little strong omega" Kate giggled.

Kate slowly walked into the river, "Are you coming in?" she asked me with a smile. "I sure am" I replied. I jumped in after her. We ran through the water and splashed each other. This went on for hours. "Hey Kate" I said out of breath. She put her head up, "Want to get out now?" I asked her. "Yeah I'm kind of getting cold anyway" she replied. We both walked out of the river and shook our fur dry. "So now what?" I asked Kate. She looked into my eyes, "I don't know, it's getting dark" she replied. It fell silent for a few seconds. "I know what we can do, follow me" Kate replied running off. "Where are we going?" I shouted out, "Just follow me!" she replied. I quickly chased after her.

Yet again I caught up in a matter of 30 seconds. Kate wasn't surprised this time, she just accepted it. After a long 7 minutes of running we reached the moon light howl rock, the sun was setting. "Why are we here?" I asked Kate. She gave me a smile, "Because we've only howled once" Kate said with a giggled. I knew where this was going. "Would you howl with me Humphrey?" Kate asked. I smiled. "Sure malady" I joked. We both started to laugh. "Can we at least wait until the moon actually comes out?" I asked. "Sure" Kate replied.

Some Hours Later

"I think it's dark enough now" I whispered into Kate's ear, She giggled. We walked up to the top of the rock. When we got up to the top we both sat down next to each other. The moon was reflecting off the water in the distance, the wind was blowing soft just making our fur move. Kate leaned into my chest. Her body felt warm and soft. "I'm ready when you're ready" Kate whispered into my ear giving me a kiss, I smiled. I cleared my throat, I started in a high note and kept it there. I waited for Kate to join in. She got up off me and sat next to me. She started to howl.

Our howls echoed through the valley, the birds flew in a V shape over our heads. I couldn't be happier right now, my life was complete now. But as sad as it is a howl must come to an end. Our howls slowly faded out getting lost in the wind. Kate and I looked straight at each other, "That was a great second time" Kate giggled. I smiled, "Well I thought it was pretty great too" I replied. Kate tackled me to the ground giving me a kiss. We stayed like that for a while, then Kate got off of me, "Humphrey" Kate said in a calm voice. "Yes?" I replied. "So I've been wanting to ask you this for a while now and I didn't know how to tell you so I thought this would be the best time" she explained. This made me feel a bit uncomfortable, "What is it?" I asked. "Humphrey, I want pups" she replied.

My face feel pale. I starched the back of my head, "Kate lets be reasonable here, we wouldn't have pups now because a war is coming towards us" I explained. "But it's that time of the year again well you know…" Kate said with a smile. Kate got up and walked towards me, "What are you doing?" I asked her. "You" she replied. Kate jumped on top of me. "Kate I really don't want to do this" I shouted to her. Kate suddenly stopped. "I…I'm sorry Humphrey, I don't know what came over me" Kate cried. Now I felt bad, "It's fine, we all get like that sometimes" I joked. Kate was still crying. "Hey look at me" I said in a calm voice. I pulled Kate's face up by her chin, "There's nothing to be ashamed of" I smiled. This calm down Kate a tiny bit. I wiped the tear stains from her eyes. We brought each other into a hug. We stayed like that for a while.

Kate then let go of me, "Should we go back to our den now?" she asked. "Is it your den now?" I chuckled. She laughed a little bit, "Well I guess" she replied. We got up off the ground and headed back towards our den.
